Spock, watching Jim do something stupid: You want me to go yell at him?
Bones: Yes. Actually, yeah, that would be great.
Spock: Oh, no, no, no. I was just kidding. I never yell. Even when I am mad I just push it down really deep. And then I wake up in the middle of the night, panicked and sweaty for no reason.

Dr. Leonard McCoy x Reader: Either Way
Word Count: 368 Warnings: The Reader is in Medbay, needle mention (none involved), split/cut lip (no blood mention), fluff Summary: The Reader wakes up in Medbay to the sight of Leonard, who takes great care of them.
A/N: Happy New Year! I hope it’s treating you kindly.
~~~~  ~~~~
  A slow and steady beeping was the first noise that reached your ears. As you awakened further, the beep faded, other sounds gaining your attention. Boots trailing across the floor, inaudible chatter, and the soft swish of a curtain. Medbay.    Opening your eyes, you blinked the drowsiness away.    “Hey.”    The low voice lulled you away from your growing thoughts. “Leonard,” you smiled dreamily up at the doctor.    He laughed to himself. “You’re not dreaming, I assure you.”    “Either way…”    “Let me check you over, all right?” He said, trying to force his smile away.    While he waved the tricorder over the blanket covering your body, a sudden thought had occurred to you. It must have showed at a medical level by the way Leonard’s brows came together.
   “Are there any needles?” You asked, stilling your body completely. “Like…embedded?”    He placed a hand on top of yours that you quickly latched onto. “No. There’s not a single needle near you.”    “Are you sure?” The words slipped out in your worry.    “Would I lie to you?”    Something clicked inside of you at his words. “Not if you knew what’s good for you.”    His brow rose for a moment before a smirk spread across his lips. “I’ll have to check your head next after that one,” he mused.    This likewise brought a smile to you as you gave a small laugh. But the action quickly caused you a sharp pain to your lip. “Ow,” you frowned, looking curiously at him. “How long have I been in here?” Evidently, your lips were quite dry.    “Don’t touch it. I’ll be right back,” he instructed.    The absence of his warm and comforting hand became more prominent than the sting of your split lip.    When he returned, he had a damp cloth in-hand. “Hang on, I got yah.”    Leaning in close, he gently patted your lip clean and wet your lips.    You sighed contently when he was finished.    “So, what did you learn?”    “Don’t follow Jim?”    “Hey.” The voice matching the name called out from the other side of the curtain.    “Oh, hey, captain,” you replied, snickering as you met eyes with Leonard, who crossed his arms over his chest with a sigh.
Kinktober 2022 - #6
Kinks: Uniforms, Wall Sex
Words: 1230
Pairing: Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy x f!Reader
Kinktober Masterlist
Tumblr media
It’s the start of another mission, another year or more in space and you groan as you pull the uniform on - Leonard had already left with Jim, leaving you to don the itchy and tight uniform all by yourself. You carefully fit the insignia to your chest and look yourself up and down one more time in the mirror: the slacks and the stiff cut of your uniform don’t seem to do you many favors, at least that is what you think. You crack your neck and finally leave for the event. Another speech, followed by another…
…and another.
You’re sure you’d be asleep on your feet by now if it weren’t for one of the nurses adjacent to you making sly remarks out of the corner of your mouth. It barely keeps you awake and somewhat smiling.
You still haven’t seen your boyfriend and when you had arrived, you hadn’t exactly had time to look. Although the CMO shouldn’t be standing too far away from you.
The speeches finally end just as you’re about to audibly complain about your achy feet. As you turn to leave, you crane your neck to hopefully find Leonard and his friends - as you make it to the stairs, you see a mop of familiar, dark hair speeding up from the bottom of the steps.
You move to the side to let other people pass and catch a glimpse of Jim who briefly waves at you from the bottom of the stairs.
You wave back and turn just in time for Leonard to reach you.
“Hey.”
“Hey, darlin’”, he mutters and quickly wraps an arm around your waist. He presses a kiss to your temple. “I’m sorry I got a bit caught up. You look great.”
“Thank you”, you murmur back and turn to kiss his cheek. It is then that you notice the slight flush, a bit more than he would usually have after a flight of stairs. “Are you okay? You’re all red-”
“I’m fine, let’s just… let’s get back to our room, darlin’.”
“What, why? I thought there was going to be a-”
“I’ll explain in the hallway.”
He tugs you to walk in front of him and you climb the stairs with a confused frown. When you reach the top and Leonard pulls you towards one of the secluded hallways that lead deeper into the building instead of outside.
He finally stops and you are pulled into a deep kiss that makes a shiver run down your spine. Leonard’s hands wander to your waist and you hold on to his shoulders, his jaw, reveling in the unexpectedly passionate kiss.
When you part, you are feeling just as flushed as Leonard had looked on the stairs.
“What’s gotten into you?”
“I-”, he trails off and licks over his bottom lip before continuing. “I think I really like you in uniform.”
You blink a few times before it really dawns on you and you let your hands roam over his chest with a smirk.
“Oh, is that… is that why you left before I was ready?”
He doesn’t answer but you can tell from that look in his eyes.
You kiss him again, nipping at your boyfriend’s lip as you retreat. You match his hungry look and bite your lip as you lean up to whisper into his ear.
“Do you want to show me how much you like it back in our room, then?”
-
You don’t exactly make it to the bedroom - you’re drawn into a searing kiss as soon as the door falls closed and you both stumble until your back hits a wall. You blindly fumble for some purchase as Leonard drags your pants down your hips, all decorum forgotten between your wet kisses and the nails you’re dragging over his scalp. You moan into his mouth when he lingers over your naked core, his fingers dipping into the slick already collecting there.
He draws more breathy moans from you as he spreads it, his lips continuously chasing yours for more kisses as he pushes two fingers into you and your arch your back to get closer.
He mutters your name, breathless, against your lips and you barely get a few testing pumps of his fingers before he drags them out of you. He smears your wetness over your clit, teasingly rubbing a half circle over the already aching nub that makes you bite at his bottom lip before your both go back to fumbling with your pants.
Your pants fall to the floor first and you push your shoes off while your hands fumble with the front of his pants, quickly undoing the zip before Leonard manages to lift your leg around his hip.
When he lifts his hand to spit into it, you take a shaky breath and meet his eyes.
“You ready for me, darlin’?”
“Hurry up”, you just murmur and kiss him again, feeling him smile as he lines himself up before pushing into you slowly. You feel him groan more than you hear it and hold on to his shoulders.
His hand moves on to your clit, playing you like a fiddle as he grinds against you.
You let your head fall against the wall, bumping your previously impeccable hairdo as you sigh his name. You let yourself go, already close to your orgasm when Leonard trails his lips down your neck.
“You look so good- look so good- fuck, I love you, you look so good in that damn uniform”, he grunts and you smile before dragging him into another kiss, rolling your hips against his deep thrusts.
“Keep doing that”, he moans and you cling on to him while he steadies your hip with his hand. You open the zip of your uniform jacket, feeling too hot already as you expose yourself to his hooded eyes.
His lips part and you moan as he leans down to press a reverent kiss to your exposed clavicle as you rock into each other, pushing yourself higher and higher until you’re losing your rhythm, too close to an orgasm. You’re about to whine but Leonard shushes you, continuing your rhythm and pressing the flat of his hand over your stomach as he fucks into you. Your breaths mingle, your soft uh uh uh’s eventually muffled as he kisses you again, picking up his pace.
You don’t have time to warn him that you’re going to cum but you feel him groan into your mouth as you clench around him. His thumb rubs over your clit and you frown, a long moan leaving you as you come and he keeps fucking you as the sweat starts running down your back underneath the stiff clothes. It takes him just a moment before he is coming, too. Your breath is punched out of you as he pushes you higher against the wall, your left foot barely touching the ground as he spills himself into you.
When he leaves off, you’re both panting heavily and you feel drowsy and slick.  You still manage to open your eyes and level a teasing smile at your boyfriend who is red in the face and panting heavily, his length still twitching inside of you.
“So, I take it you like the uniform a lot.”
He laughs, breathlessly and kisses you again before murmuring, “Yeah. Yeah, I love it a lot, on you.”
The Many Roles of Dr. McCoy
The Many Roles of Dr. McCoy By Marie Nomad
Dr. Leonard McCoy, affectionately known as 'Bones,' despises dress uniforms. "I'm a doctor, not a diplomat," he often says. Many visitors to the Enterprise consider him the 'practical' one among the trio consisting of himself, Spock, and Jim. While McCoy isn't fond of being categorized in this way, he can't deny that it's accurate.
McCoy would rather be in sickbay, healing the sick and treating the injured. His adventures in space have stretched his medical skills to the limit, such as the time he had to figure out how to treat a silicone-based creature using concrete as a remedy.
On the bridge, McCoy serves as a de facto counselor to both Jim and Spock. His role often involves voicing the emotional perspectives that need consideration. He also tries to prevent Jim and Spock from pushing themselves too close to the brink of death. Jim is action-oriented and would readily lay down his life for his crew. Spock would make the same sacrifice but would justify it as 'logical.'
However, McCoy detests the diplomatic duties that come with his role. These duties require him to don uncomfortable dress uniforms and engage in formal dialogues with various dignitaries. His struggle even extends to his inability to perform the Vulcan greeting correctly. Though, as he's heard, even Zefram Cochrane struggled with it during the legendary First Contact.
Assigned to a flagship and expected to serve as an 'ambassador of humanity,' McCoy has resigned himself to let Jim take the lead in diplomatic endeavors, with Spock as a secondary diplomat.
For now, all Dr. McCoy can do is fulfill his duty and count the minutes until he can shed his uncomfortable dress uniform. Then he can return to the sickbay, where he believes a doctor truly belongs.
The End
Imagine swooning over Leonard McCoy:
  “One more?” Leonard McCoy asked as he was storing away his now folded laundry.
  “Yes, the last one. One more truth,” you said, closing his closet doors and turning toward him.
  “All right.” He dragged out his sigh as he closed the drawer, but still had yet to face you again. “At first, before we started dating, I...I thought that you liked Jim.”
  There was a pause as you processed this new information. “Jim?” You asked, the humor in your question enticing him to turn around.
  “What’s so funny?” He leaned against the dresser with eyebrows knitted in confusion. “Usually Jim is the one getting all of the dates.”
  A laugh escaped your lips and you felt no regrets about it. “Leonard Horatio McCoy, do you not know how amazing and utterly irresistible you are?” You gawked.
  The smirk he tried to conceal did not go unnoticed by you. “I wouldn’t say irresistible...”
  “Irresistible!” You called out to him to make a point. “Look at this, I’m swooning,” you said, carefully yet dramatically dropping to the floor with a hand to your forehead.
  Your own smile widened at the sight of his.
  Leonard shook his head and made his way over to you. “Was that you swooning?”
  “You’re too handsome, I can hardly bare it.”
  Kneeling down to your level, he gently grabbed ahold of you to help you back up onto your feet. As he did so, he pulled you into his arms, and kissed you sweetly on the lips.
  “If you didn’t have me so giddy right now, I’d have half a mind to check on your vitals...falling to the floor,” he said, shaking his head again.
  “I don’t know...if you check me out, I might swoon again.”
  He gave you a small squeeze in his arms. “That’s not what I meant...ah, but...you’re ridiculous and I love you.”
~ All Hope Is Lost ~
"Get me the next ones!"
Montgomery Scott's heart almost jumped out of his chest when he heard the words. He knew that it would mean the end for many members of the crew. And perhaps for him too.
When the Enterprise had been attacked, crashed on the enemy planet and its crew captured by Krall and his henchmen, no one had realized just how bad it would end for them.
They had been locked up and one by one some of them had been taken away.
To where? None of them knew. They only knew that none of them ever came back. The last thing they heard from their comrades were pain-filled screams.
"No, let go of me! Please let go of me!"
The desperate shriek of one of his female engineers caught Scotty's attention.
Ensign Maria Stanson. A brilliant young lady in whom he had always had high hopes.
A big alien guy was pulling her roughly by the hair. When she tried to fight back, he slapped her hard across the face.
"Oi! Get yer filthy hands off her!"
Scotty couldn't and wouldn't hold back. He just wanted to beat up these monsters.
The alien's eyes met his and only a moment later Stanson was free and the cell in which the Scotsman was sitting was opened.
He took his chance immediately and lunged at the guy, who was probably far too strong, punching him in the face.
These bastards had friends of his on their conscience. What's more, they had destroyed his beautiful ship. If he could harm even one of these creatures, he would gladly do so.
Even if it wasn't good for his own health.
His counterpart grabbed his wrist as Scotty tried to strike again and only a second later a terrible cracking sound announced that the bones were broken.
The chief engineer gritted his teeth and tried his best not to scream out loud. He would not show any weakness now!
"Mr. Scott!"
He saw how a lot of the crew members stared at him with wide eyes in shock before the alien pulled him along.
"Keep fighting those bastards! Don't let them get ye down! Wait for the captain!"
If it was the last time he saw the crew, he wanted to give them hope at least once more. They would make it. At least some of them would.
He thought of Keenser. He hoped so much that the wee man would survive. He had always been such a good friend to him, even though they had often clashed.
He thought of Sulu and Uhura. They had been captured too, but he hadn't seen them for days. He just hoped they were all right.
Spock and the captain and Chekov. They had all escaped somehow, hadn't been captured. And Scotty believed that they were working on a plan to rescue the crew at this very moment. A Vulcan, a strong-willed young man and a Wunderkind - what could possibly go wrong?
Especially when they were supported by the most wonderful and intelligent doctor in the entire fleet.
Yes, Dr. McCoy had not been captured either. He was still out there somewhere and would try to save everyone.
Scotty swallowed hard at the thought of the doctor. He just wanted to see him again, wanted to have a drink with him and talk to him for hours.
Why had he never told him how he felt? Why had he never told the doctor how much he appreciated him and how much he wished there was more between them than friendship?
No. He would tell him. He would get his chance. For sure.
His captor took him to a strange room where two other crew members were standing.
Scotty's eyes widened. It was Lt. Hendorff and Nurse Chapel. Both were tied up with lots of cables and wires connected to a strange looking machine.
Scotty wheeled around when he heard the voice of the man responsible for all this.
Krall. That was the name he had used to introduce himself to his prisoners.
He was talking to his partner in a language the Scotsman didn't understand. Judging by the expression on his face, he was probably annoyed that it had taken a little longer.
"Lt. Commander Scott."
Scotty narrowed his eyes in irritation when Krall switched languages and addressed him directly.
He stretched his back and looked defiantly at Krall.
"Aye. That's me."
Even if he had no idea how his counterpart knew that.
"You know the ship best. So where is it? Where is the artifact?"
For a moment, Scotty had no idea what Krall was talking about, but then he remembered the Enterprise's last mission.
The strange object that Jim had brought with him. But... what was so special about it?
"I haven't the faintest idea. But I can tell ye one thing, even if I did know, I certainly wouldn't tell ye."
Scotty put all the hatred he felt at that moment into his gaze. He wanted Krall to know how much he loathed him.
For a while they just stared at each other, before Krall nodded and gestured to the cables.
His partner pushed Scotty forward roughly and only a short time later the engineer was as bound as Hendorff and Chapel. Both made unintelligible noises, gagged by the cables.
"The captain will come. He'll get us out of here."
Krall's cool laugh caused Scotty's gaze to wander back to him. The man who had just been whispering with his partner stood close in front of him, gripping some cables with his hand.
"Too late, Scott. My subjects have found him and the rest of your friends. They've just informed me of this. It's over."
Scotty's eyes widened and he shook his head.
No... no. That was... impossible. Jim was too clever. He would never let himself be caught. And neither would the others.
Krall put the cables around Scotty's mouth and gagged him in the same fashion as the others.
But the Scotsman didn't give up. He moved back and forth, trying to free himself somehow.
He would not give up. He would never surrender!
But one look into Krall's eyes told him that it was over. He was helpless. There was nothing he could do.
Then he heard voices approaching. They came closer and closer. And suddenly they were standing there.
Spock, Chekov, Kirk... and McCoy.
Tears filled Scotty's eyes at the sight of his friends. His family.
So it really was true. It was... over. They had lost.
"What the- let them go! Let my people go. Right now!"
It didn't matter what the captain said. Krall wouldn't listen to him.
"Where's the artifact, Kirk?"
Scotty knew. He knew Jim had hidden it. He knew Jim would protect it.
But the Scotsman would never hear the man's answer.
When Krall activated the machine and he felt all the life being sucked out of him, his eyes were fixed on McCoy, who watched in shock as his friends slowly and agonizingly died.
He would tell him the truth. In another life. For sure.
Tumblr media
Doc: I'll come pick you up around 7.
Doctor Leonard McCoy is a terrible tease and utterly stubborn to a fault. It had been endearing at first but now the messages still glaring at you from the afternoon had put you into a tough spot.
Me: Where are we going?
Doc: It's a surprise, can't spoil it.
Me: I need to know how fancy I need to dress!
Doc: It's not going to be dramatically formal. You will look beautiful either way.
You sigh as you look at the phone screen again before looking back into your suitcase.
You'd opt for a little black dress - can't be over or underdressed with that - right?
While you're still trying to decide what jewelry to wear, you hear the electronic doorbell.
"Shit", you mutter, threading an earring through your piercings as you walk over to the door to answer it.
"I'm almost ready, hang on-"
"I'm going to wait right here, don't worry."
You smile to yourself and take another look out the window before you glance at the clock.
7 sharp.
With the weather on the station in mind, you grab a jacket, just to be sure, before you swing open the door.
You are in the process of picking at your hair again when you meet his eyes.
"Good evening."
"Hey-", you mutter, your eyes drinking him in immediately, a wide smile on your face as you spot the bundle of flowers in his hands, contrasting the blue button down and the leather jacket. You see the glint of a necklace peeking through the first two open buttons of his shirt before you fix his eyes again. "You look great. Nice leather jacket."
He rubs the back of his neck and clears his throat, seemingly doing his own part in taking you in.
"Thanks. I got nothing on you though... You look stunning."
You grin and take a step back into the apartment.
"Yeah? Want me to do a little spin?"
Leonard takes a deep breath and feels the weight on his chest lighten at your cheeky behavior, the way you seem so excited at the prospect of your date tonight.
"Yeah, go on."
-
You slowly twirl in your spot and god, Leonard had forgotten what a little black dress can do on the right person. The fabric accentuates your waist and curves, flattering you perfectly - you look stunning.
You look so different off duty, relaxed and without that pinch in your brow - you stop and your eyes meet again, and this time, his own smile comes much easier.
"You're- you look perfect. But I've got to warn you, it looks like it might be raining later."
"Well, I'm not made out of sugar, so I think I will survive." You pause and take another lingering look at him. "Though I'm worried about you."
A wink, a quirk of your lips and Leonard thinks his heart might have just stumbled out of his chest.
You, however, don't seem all that sold on that fact.
"Sorry, it's- uh- it's a german saying- are those for me?"
He looks down at the blooms out of sheer reflex alone, his thoughts ripped away from just how pleased he is that you might be nervous, too.
"Yes. I had to bribe Chekov to get him to spill about what flowers you like." He withstands the urge to rub the nape of his neck again and instead watches you closely.
"Well... I gotta say, Chekov played you like a fiddle, Leonard..."
You bite your lip, fiddling with the hem of your dress.
Did he really just mess up getting flowers for you?
"...Seriously?"
"I'm kidding. I like these. I'm just not really great at keeping anything alive besides my patients."
"Oh."
"But like I said, these are very pretty- is there a special meaning behind these?"
You brush his hands as you take them from him and it’s like a little spark passes between the two of you. He is tempted, suddenly, to just stay in with you.
“There really isn’t- I didn’t really think about that when I picked them out.”
“You picked them out yourself?”
He spots a slight flush working its way up your cheeks and feels his confidence return at the prospect of being able to fluster you.
“Yeah.”
“That’s really sweet”, you mutter and you look up from the flowers again. “You’re all heart, Doc.”
Why is he even this nervous? He has dated before, damnit, you two had already kissed. Twice.
“I’m going to put these away really quick.”
“Sure, yeah, go ahead.”
You turn and he watches as you grab a large glass to put the flowers in. He glances down at his shoes, rubbing at the nape of his neck.
The two of you really shouldn’t be doing this, it’s complicated and-
“Alright, sorry for that. Are you alright?”
His head snaps back up and there you are again. He nods and you close the door behind you before extending an arm towards his back, your arm winding around him so you can press closer.
He gets a whiff of your shampoo and the perfume you’re wearing and finds it pleasantly subtle as you fit together.
“Alright. Let’s go.”
He extends his arm across your back as well as you walk towards the elevator. After pressing the button to go down, he glances at you to find you fiddling with an earring. His nose bumps against your temple and you meet his eyes before shily turning away from him again, your eyes flicking down to the floor, then to the windows.
It reassures him, to find you a little nervous, as well.
As he looks out the window with you, he remembers the last night; the way you had looked at him, how your lips had parted as he cornered you against the cool glass... The soft kiss you had shared before you had pressed back, a hand of yours in his.
The elevator snaps him out of his reverie and he guides you out of the elevator towards the lobby.
“We might have to hurry a bit to catch our reservation- have you ever been on a motorbike before?”
You tilt your head and chuckle.
“I can’t say I have.”
-
You’re baffled when Leonard guides you out of the lobby and towards a motorbike.
He hands you one of the helmets from the seat.
“Well, this certainly explains the leather jacket, Mr. Bad Boy.”
“Alright, you’re feisty tonight.” Leonard mutters under his breath and you laugh  at the grumble. You nudge him with your elbow, briefly considering pressing a kiss to his cheek.
“Do you know how to put the helmet on?”
You consider the black helmet in your hands, briefly considering lying.
“Actually, I could use some instructions.”
“Of course”, he mutters and steps a bit closer, lifting his helmet to put it on as he speaks. “You start on the crown of your head and push it down over your nose with a little pressure.”
He lifts the visor so you can see his eyes and you nod, looking down at your own hands.
“Alright. I’ll try - can’t guarantee you won’t have to help though.”
“If you want, I can just do it for you.” He is already reaching out to grab the helmet out of your hands but you are quick to lift it out of his reach.
“No no, I want to try”, you stop him in his tracks and set the helmet on the crown of your head with determination. You pull it down your head but after getting it over your forehead you get it stuck.
“Some help?”
“I got this!”, you grunt and give it another shove until it plops down over your head fully. “Told you so”, you breathe out.
“Fair enough, just missing something-” Your helmets touch as he reaches out under your chin. An uncomfortable hard piece of plastic slides across your cheek before you feel two straps touching your chin. Leonard's hands are remarkably warm as he closes the chin straps for you. “-there you go.”
“Thanks, Leonard. Are yours closed, too?”, you feel up his neck and chin, checking the chin strap like he had with yours. The corners of his eyes crinkle as he smiles at you.
“This ain’t my first rodeo, darlin’.”
“Well, I sure hope so, Doc. Wouldn’t want you falling off.”
“I think that will be your worry in a second. Ready to mount?”
“I’m not sure but I do know where to keep my hands so that’s a good start, right?”
He just nods, sitting down on the machine. It’s intimidating but at least he can balance that goddamn thing.
He turns to look at you and lets his eyes trail down your body before looking up again.
He holds one of his hands out.
You zip your jacket closed and take it.
-
“We’re here.”
You look around the place. There’s just skyscrapers and some bars around, nothing special, it seems.
You keep slowly rolling towards a parking bay.
You know you would feel your heart sink a bit if it weren’t for the adrenaline from the motorbike ride.
You stop in a designated spot and you do your best to keep close to Leonard as the balance tips to your right side. People in fancy dresses are practically flying through in cars or by foot.
“Alright- you’re going to have to get up first.”
“Uh- Leonard… I might need your help.”
He turns his head to you, an eyebrow cocked in question.
“You can use me as support, no need to be shy.”
You huff out a laugh and squirm as you loosen your arms from him. After tugging your dress down again, you swing your leg backwards over the machine while holding on to Leonard’s shoulders. You stumble and feel like all blood is rushing out of your head as you prepare to embarrass yourself, but Leonard secures you with a hand on your waist.
Your helmets almost bump and he smiles brightly.
“There. Everything okay?”
“Just nervous… After all, I didn’t know the CMO of the Enterprise is a motorbike kind of guy with a leather jacket…”
He takes the keys out of the ignition and turns to you as he takes off his helmet.
“What did you think, then?”
He gets up, tugging off his helmet in a smooth and to be honest, very bad boy kind of fashion before turning towards you.
“Well, I expected less of a bad boy and more of a well mannered southern gentleman to be perfectly honest with you.”
He steps closer and starts undoing the chin clasp of your helmet. It makes your cheeks flush to see that concentrated, warm expression on his face, his full attention on you.
“Those do not necessarily exclude each other, you know?”, he retorts in a mumble and pulls the helmet off before guiding you down the sidewalk with a hand on your lower back. “Just like being able to dance in the club and dancing like a lady aren’t exclusive.”
The added comment makes you grin.
“Touché.”
You grab the helmet again and take it in your right hand as you take another look around the parking lot.
You almost jump as Leonard gently puts his hand on your lower back.
“C’mon, it’s just a minute walk from here.”
“Alright, then”, you just smile and let yourself be led down the sidewalk by him, comforted by the hand on your lower back that wanders to your waist, holding you to his right as you walk. You can feel his body warmth like this and get a whiff of cologne. He smells really nice.
“Still tired from yesterday?"
"Huh?" You look at him again, brow wrinkled in confusion.
"You woke up pretty late."
"Ah, well-" you bite your lip and think back to what had actually kept you from your PADD so long.
"What? You don't have to be shy about being hungover you know? Jim whined at me the whole morning all about it."
Of course he did. You smile at the visual your imagination provides you and just chuckle.
"Well, I can assure you I was not hungover, just lazed around in bed."
After handing over your jackets as well as helmets you follow your waiter through the restaurant and past a room divider. You feel your jaw slackening at the view you’re suddenly met with:
There’s a beautiful, deep orange sea with a fine white beach extending over the planet- the skyscrapers you thought were spanning the entire city alwaysity stand in considerable distance to the beach where little houses are situated. They seem tiny from here and you think you can see a few children playing somewhere near the coast to the west.
The evening sun basks everything in blue hues which makes for a spectacular view with the brilliance of the stars already coming out.
Your awe is interrupted by Leonard gently pushing you further.
“You should see your face. Priceless.”
His breath fans against your ear as he whispers to you, a hand on your lower back guiding you further. You are seated at a window spot, the benches comfortably plush. You don’t really have time to take in the whole setup, still taking in the view through the window you are seated right against.
“It’s so beautiful, Leonard…”
“Yeah…”, Leonard mutters, trying hard not to be impressed by the view after seeing it while checking for a good place for dinner but in person it’s a whole different experience. He glances at you, who is, even after the few minutes you had already been here, still awe struck and illuminated by the setting sun.
It’s surreal to him. Really being on a date… The black dress you are wearing is mirroring the color shifts of the scenery. Another reason Leonard won’t get the picture of you in that dress out of his head for a while. He is still thinking about that kiss. The way you had looked at him, how you had felt against him…
-
Dinner is lovely- the conversation keeps flowing between the two of you.
At some point, one of the straps of your dress had fallen off of your shoulder as you both laughed at what Leonard had just said.
"You can not be serious!"
"I am! Trust me, I never lived that down. I'm lucky Jim wasn't around to witness that."
He can't stop trying to make you laugh - you're gorgeous and he thinks he might be able to admit it's what had been drawing him to you from the very beginning - that laugh, the way you smile at him, tease him.
When he leans back, he is quick to hide his smile behind his glass of wine, his eyes falling to the black strap of your dress losely falling down your shoulder.
As he sets his glass back down, he decides to fall back to what Jim had told him.
He can still do this.
Otherwise you wouldn't be looking at him like that right now.
He carefully leans over the table until he can hook his finger under the slim strap on your shoulder. He can see the hitch in your breath, your eyes on him as he tugs it back in place on your skin.
Trailing his fingers along your collarbone may be unnecessary but the way you lower your eyelids just like in the elevator last night, makes it worth it.
“Thanks.”
“Yeah, sure.”
His eyes fall to your empty plate and he smiles briefly.
“Do you want to order dessert?”
“Oh- uhm you’re sure?”
“Yeah, yeah, uh,” he laughs faintly and god why are his hands all sweaty. That was a perfectly normal question.
“But I also know a very cute little ice cream spot. They also have churros. Which I was saving for tomorrow morning buut… I don’t do well in fancy dinner spots.”
You reach out to his hand on the table, letting the tips of one of your fingers gently rub over one of his - a shy gesture, something so unusual of you, at least in his eyes, before you catch his gaze again.
 “And I feel like you’re not a big fan either.”
-
After leaving the bike behind at the apartment complex you’re staying in, you’d slowly made your way around a few corners, your hands busy with trying to operate the digital map while Leonard had held you close with one arm around your waist, carrying your jacket in the other due to the humid air on the station.
Now you’re sharing bites of the churros and ice cream on the edge of the artificial lake. He’s been quiet ever since you’ve left the restaurant, more reserved. But you chose not to dig into that. He had smiled a bit when you jokingly said you should be even after paying for the sweets.
You had washed off your hands under the frigid water of a drinking fountain, before continuing your stroll along the edge of the water next to each other.
Afterwards he had offered you his jacket, murmuring something about the evening chill. You had little choice but to let him layer the jacket around your, admittedly cold, shoulders.
Instead of asking anything stupid you let your hand swing close to his, your pinky nudging into the palm of his hand, not rushing, just… suggesting.
He turns his head towards you and looks down before taking it and firmly intertwining your hands.
You bite your lip and avert your gaze towards the lake, deciding to push your luck and scooting closer.
His nose nudges your temple and you feel goosebumps spreading over your skin as his warm breath hits the shell of your ear.
“This was a great idea, by the way. I like this a lot more than the restaurant.”
“I’m glad to hear that. Though I gotta say, the view was a lot better.”
You both come to a halt from your slow walk, his arm pulling you a bit closer.
“I’m not sure about that. I’ve been having a great view all evening.”
You turn your head towards him, lips already apart to ask what he means only to find him staring at you with a fond expression; a gentle smile and the faintest hint of the crow’s feet around his eyes as he searches your eyes for a reaction.
You feel yourself flush and your heart stumbles as you catch his meaning, a faint chuckle escaping you.
“Wow- uhm... alright-” your eyebrows rise and you seem to fight against the smile lighting up your face as you shily look away, then back at him. “-very smooth.”
“I did warn you last night.”
“Yeah, yeah, you did”, you agree and there’s that moment again, where everything stretches and he gently lets his thumb trace over your hand as he turns towards you, his warmth and the weight of his jacket sending a warm shiver through you.
It’s a short kiss, sweet and soft, and you both linger for a moment, afterwards. When you look at each other again, you feel your heart warm in your chest.
His hand finds your cheek and gently caresses it as you keep his other hand in yours, your thumb rubbing against his skin.
You walk back with his arm around your waist, an easy silence settling between the two of you.
