I always saw Manjiro as a person who would never show his deep and romantic feelings for Ken-chin because he knows Emma likes Ken and we all know that Mikey is the type of person who sacrifices his own happiness to see his friends and family happy even if he is unhappy. Ken Wakui wrote Mikey that way so it's just facts and this sad part of Mikey can be used in all sorts of storylines, always coming to the conclusion that he won't tell Ken how he feels because he doesn't want Emma to hate him...... :( also, A BOY confessing to another BOY (especially if this guy is his best friend) is clearly COMPLICATED, there are too many emotions for one person to deal with alone and you know Mikey will ALWAYS choose to suffer through this all alone, I kind of understand him a lot because I don't tell anyone about how I feel either. I don't blame him.

"Well, well" Shinichiro said with an easy smile. Mikey was once again talking about 'Ken-chin'. "It seems like we need to meet this Ken-chin boy, too, right?"
