Basic Training

This post has been sitting in my drafts for months now, during which I've come up with a few ways I wanted to write this post. This is what I've come up with.

Basic Training is the episode which made me hate Ben the most. The whole episode consisted him of being a stuck up brat only to be rewarded for it in the end.

This episode was the perfect opportunity to have Kevin in the spotlight and show how skilled and smart he is.

Gwen's presence in this episode was actually fine, there's no change needed for that.

Look, I know the shows named Ben 10 but we have seen Ben be the hero tons of times already.

And Ben being egoistic about his heroism is not something new in the franchise.

There have been episodes on the OS where Ben got a big head, yet I dont ever see anyone complaining about that.

Was is it because he was 10 that we excuse this behaviour? Nope.

15 - 16 is still pretty young and his attitude can be excused at this age as well.

My opinion? It was handled better in the OS.

There were times when Ben wasn't always the main focus.

In Lucky Girl, Ben has his ' who's your hero?' Moment.

They showed Gwen feeling jealous and hurt by the fact she wasn't noticed much.

It was realistic.

Then the epsiode proceeded to focus on Gwen , having Ben being kind of like a sub plot to the story.

Towards the end Ben compliments her.

So yeah Ben got big head, but at the same time they shifted focus so that the audience wouldn't find it annoying.

Gwen was in the spotlight for a bit, giving people a break from Ben.

Secondly , in Be Afraid Of The Dark, Ben again is shown to be slightly stuck up, but towards the end of that episode he learns and acknowledges Gwen and Grandpa for help and understands his crime fighting is more of a team effort.

In Galactic Enforcers, we are shown there are other heros besides Ben as well.

Ben wasn't the sole focus of that episode. Yes it was about him but also about the Galactic Enforcers.

I don't think he was shown to be over confident here , but it was nice to see some other heros in the scene.

The Ben 10,000 episode focuses on how Ben was too focused on his job and the lesson at that was Ben needed to relax and have them Galactic Enforcers take the lead instead.

Again , his attitude towards everything was brought in focus but towards the end he learnt something.

I recently started watching Generator Rex and I can't help but compare Rex's character to Ben's.

Rex is also proud , rushes into things and considers himself to be a hotshot. But they also show him being down ,having trouble with his nanites and actually voice out his insecurities.

He's still the hero, still has things go his way most times but it's not annoying like Ben.

( I've only seen like 7 episodes so far so I don't know if this going to go down hil or not but so far so good)

The issue with the sequels after the OS was that Ben was the focus a bit too much.

We as the audience were rarely ever given a break from him.

Other than a few conversations here and there about his attitude, nothing really was done about it.

Gwen should've been appreciated more for saving Kevin and Kevin should've been appreciated for stopping Aggregor.

But they weren't.

If it had been Ben , they would've made sure to show him getting some sort of recognition or trophy.

Back to the Basic Training episode.

We know he's the legendary Ben Tennyson, we know he's a hero. We didn't need another episode on it.

Instead the plot should've focused on Kevin. His skills, his abilities.

Ben would act the same but Magsiter Hulka should've put some sort of cover so Ben couldn't use the omnitrix.

Ben goes on breaking rules, and having a hard time being a hero without the watch.

Towards the end, it should've been Kevin who cracks the case and saves Hulka. Ben is mad he can't use the omnitrix but instead uses the guns and other weapons he's learnt to use at the academy

He's not amazing at them , but it makes him realise that he is hero , watch or not, something that has been emphasised in the show. Its not impossible for him to function without the watch.

Towards the end, Ben getting a 95 was a stretch. I'm sorry , but the guy wasn't great with using weapons and without the watch I dont think he would've been able to complete that hostage excercise.

I'm thinking more like 89%.

Gwen gets 98, that's fine and Kevin gets a 100.

Hulka comes in and awards the medal (?) to Kevin, suggesting he's becoming more like his father.

( im ignoring the ret con, plus the retcon I'm assuming wasnt thought off at this point by the writers)

Ben is shown to take one of the guns back to earth, because he thinks they're cool and he wants to practice and get better at them.

The whole hostage situation makes him want to get better at making strategies.

Yes he's good at improv, but he needs to learn to properly plan as well.

It doesn't matter if he's never shown to use the gun ever again, and he's back to relying on the omnitrix.

Or maybe some time down the line, he could use the weapon, even if it for a second, to show that he is improving and getting better.

Before you say 'he's already a hero, he doesn't need to learn anything ' sorry but no.

He's 16. He may have saved the world but he still has growing up to do. Different battles are going to arise all the time.

Saying he is perfect at 16 is dumb. Saying he's perfect when he's ben 10k , it'll make some sense. He's been around for a while and is pretty experienced.

The watch is a part of him, but seeing him try to explore other options would've been a fresher idea.

Another scene that made me mad was the court (?) scene in Vreedle, Vreedle.

Ben being a hero shouldn't make him above the law.

Domstol ruling in favor of Ben just because he's the legendry Ben Tennyson was stupid.

After Ben's little monologue , and destroying Domstols desk, the judge should've just informed him that being a hero does not excuse him from following the law.

Kevin could've had his little moment doing some negotiation ( would've been nice to see how he works as con artist) and Ben could've jumped in and helped while making some good points for the argument, showing us he's not stupid.

Then having Domstol rule in their favor would've made sense.

On the way back to earth there could've been a joke about how Ben watches Judge Judy too much which is where he learnt about trials and stuff. Or maybe Gwens dad taught him a thing or two at some point.

All this doesn't mess with Ben's character all that much, he's still the hero of the show, he still has his ego but it makes him more likeable, shifts focus from his attitude, and shows us he's pretty smart and is growing into a good hero.

Ben's not a bad guy. I mean he is the hero of the show. There are tons of scenes which show he's good , like the whole sacrificing thing so the ultimates could live and all.

But little scenes here and there tend to be enough for someone , especially for someone who isn't a super hard-core Ben lover to form negative opinions on him.

Although calling him a psychopath / narc is out of line because I don't find him to be like that. His attitude was magnified by him being in the spotlight too much and writers not having a good balance in writing situations.

Ben being the main character of the show is at risk of becoming hated or less appreciated just because he's the font runner of the show.

Admit it, side characters tend to get more love most times than the main agonist of shows.

I've been watching videos on YouTube on this topic as to why this happens , and what I've come up with is that writers of shows tend to focus too much on main character. Things seem to go their way most times and this tends to get on peoples nerves, consciously or subconsciously because it's not exactly realistic.

Having shows where everything focuses on one person most times tend to backfire.

I don't mind Ben having a big head, I dont mind him making jokes and being so casual.

It's his defense mechanism to protect himself from drowning into the struggles and pressures of being a hero. But always having him be that way isn't good.

The writers should've executed it properly.

( okay this post got really long, more than I thought it would. If you're read the whole things , congratulations on making it here lol.

I'm not going to stop anyone from replying to this because everyone has different opinions and we all have the freedom to express them.

Although I believe I've made my point and I've made sure to keep in mind all the arguments about why bashing Ben is wrong when he's not a bad guy while typing this out.

I don't think I've directed any major hate towards him , its mostly towards the writers for making the situations like that,but if you think I have you can reply to it.

I'm not gonna reply back though , because again I feel I've made my point.

a/n : so uhh,,,the next few weeks(let’s just be safe and say the next month) i have tests after tests, and some of them are graded TmT. So this mean i’ll have to take some time off writing because- as much as i say f school and that it sucks, i still have to at least ace it so i’m trouble free TmT. So,,yeah. But do send in some requests and i’ll (hopefully) make drafts of them when im free and soon publish it.

you look absolutely stunning. your smooth, silky hair, your heartwarming smile, your toned body and perfect glossy eyes, every little detail about you just makes kageyama fall into a deeper hole. Ever since you moved in to karasuno, you had people drolling over you. Including the hot-tempered setter.

Honestly speaking, you could have gotten a boyfriend by now after the popular boy in the school hit you up. But to his surprise, you turned him down. Every boy who tried to ask you out or confess their feelings for you, you constantly turn them down. Not one of them did you accept. This brought kageyama to the thought that if he were to shoot his shot, it’s very clear he wouldn’t even have a chance.

But just seeing you everytime during practice, talking to yachi about your school work and other stuff, he just can’t thinking of you. He’d shoot glances at you from time to time, making sure he’s not being suspicious at the same time.

Hinata actually noticed this and took this as an advantage to tease the setter.

“hmmm? Is kageyama seeing someone ??” He cooed. Kageyama would have grabbed his hair and yank him to the wall but he stopped himself to not make a scene. after you left the gym, he was finally able to breathe normally. Your presence always tense him up, hoping he won’t embarrass himself infront of you.

Practice ended and everyone was changing when kageyama sighed heavily which caught everyone’s attention.

“aw, is someone upset that he can’t win a person’s heart?” tsukki said along with yamaguchi giggling afterwards. Kageyama glances his way before picking up his bag. Before he could even head out the changing room, Daichi stopped him by putting his hand on kageyama’s shoulder.

“you know, if it really bothers you, you should just go for it. Even if she were to turn you down, at least get that feeling off your chest.” Sugawara nods is agreement along with ennoshita. Kageyama couldn’y do anything but sigh, then nodding afterwards.

“alright, i’ll do it. today.”

“eh?! uhh- i mean take your time and find the right moment kagey-”

“thank you, daichi. I’ll be off now.” Kageyama bowed before leaving the captain standing still, facing the door that was shut closed.

“don’t worry, daichi, i’m sure he means well.” suga tried to comfort his captain who is dreaded with fear for his teammate.

“y/n !” you heared someone calling you from behind. You turned to see kageyama running towards you. You stopped your tracks as you slowly waited for him to get closer.

“kageyama ! finished practice ?” he nodded as he tried to catch his breathe. After a while, he stood up straight, clearing his throat before speaking.

“let me walk you home.” you could feel your heart throbbing. But you shook your head, declining the offer.

“no it’s okay, i’m fine. well, i’ll see you-”

“please, it’s late and very dangerous.” He pleaded. You sighed before allowing and you both then began walking back to your house. The walk was silent, with an awkward tension and a small gap between the both you. You both barely spoke to each other, just occasional ‘hello’ and ‘how’s your day?’, so to walk home with him is something you weren’t prepared for.

You both reached the playground near your house and you stopped for a second. Kageyama noticed and he stopped his tracks, walking back to check if you’re okay.

“y/n, is something wron-”

“i’m so sorry kageyama. but i don’t like you” your sudden of words really shattered him. He wasn’t ready yet. He wanted a few more moments before accepting the fact. But the truth has been told, and he soon have to accept it.

“it’s okay, im not forcing yo-” his words were cut when he noticed tears rolling down your cheeks. You tried your best to hold into the tears but after feeling his sudden touch, rubbing your shoulder, you couldn’t help it. You bawled your eyes out and kageyama was freaking out internally. He didn’t what to do. So he just guided you to a bench, sat you down, and waited patiently as you let loose of this tight feeling.

you’ve never really told anyone that you’ve always been afraid of falling in love ever since your previous relationships. To date someone and fall in love with them so deeply, only to realise they don’t feel the same way anymore after some time. Everyone you loved, left you. not one of your lovers ever stayed for long. This resulted you into losing hope, feeling unwanted or just used. So to constantly get love letters or being confessed under a sakura tree, it really upsets you that one day any one of these boys will leave you if they ever get tired of you. Which is something you never want to experience, ever again.

Kageyama sat down beside you and patiently waited as you eased up. You slowly catch your breath, sniffing and wiping the excess tears. After a while, you’ve slowly calmed down from the sudden outburst.

“i guess i shouldn’t really keep it to myself” you smiled to the ground and kageyama looked at you with concern.

“take your time, i’m always hear to listen” he reassured. God, you miss this feeling. The feeling of someone taking their time to just sit down with you and listen to your thoughts. You let out a heavy sigh, before looking at him with puffed up eyes.

“i’ve been into a few relationships. Unfortunately, all of them didn’t turn out well. I felt used, unwanted. Because of this, i’ve always thought that every boy who i’m going to date, will eventually leave me. That is why, i constantly turn them down, just for the sake that i won’t go through the same thing over and over again.” you admit. You were expecting kageyama to tell you to just ‘go for it’ or ‘don’t be scared. you won’t know if it will work out this time’, just like every boy said to you. But all he did was looked at you, staring deep into your eyes, as in he was guilty to make you speak up about something personal.

“i understand.” he cut the silence. He smiled slightly as he look at you. His smile, just something about his smile made your heart skipped a beat. Before it could go any further, you sprung up, grabbing your bag before turning back to kageyama, flashing the same smile which is now known to kageyama that it’s fake.

“well, it’s late. i have to go now. i’ll see you tomorrow !” you waved before walking away. Kageyama took a few moments to recollect his thoughts, before grabbing his bag and sprinting back to you again. no, he can’t let you lose hope. He wants to be the one to change your perspective of love. He wants to show you that he generally cared. and most certainly, he wants to let you know, that in any circumstances, he would never, ever, leave you.

You felt someone caught your wrist before pulling you closer towards them. You spun before looking directly at kageyama, who’s giving off an expression that you’ve never seen before.

“ I don’t care how long will it take for you to slowly open up again. Days, weeks, months, even years.But I want to let you know, that i’m always here. I’m never leaving you alone. Whatever it takes, i’ll trade anything, absolutely anything, to see you happy once more. So,,even if you’re still afraid of falling in love again, i’ll always be here. waiting.” The way kageyama spoke didn’t feel like a lie. It felt as if he really spoke from the bottom of his heart. he slowly loosen the grip around your wrist, bowing politely and walking back home.

you slowly watch him walk away, clenching your heart. Did he really meant that ? Was he really stating the truth? whatever it is, you felt that kageyama would actually keep his promise.

Maybe, he is right. You shouldn’t lose hope. Not all of the boys are the same, because someone made you think otherwise. Which was none other than Kageyama Tobio.

a/n : OKAY!! Due to personal reasons, i will now dig my grave ;-; but yeaah hope this is okay. Wrote this on the spot when i had a sudden thought about love. Technically i do feel like love is really,,,a jigsaw puzzle. In order to work things out, communication is key. But i’m afraid a few of the relatonships i have observed didn’t work out well because they lack in that aspect. but this is just my personal opinion (please don’t attack me). Anyways yesshh uhmm i’ll be taking a break for now, but i’ll still be active (reading other people’s haikyuu hc huhuhu) and stuff. i really like the yandere dynamic but i dont openly post or reblog about it anymore cuz i've had people give me a hard time over it being problematic. and i get told im terrible, get called a freak... idk. do you have any advice for dealing with this...?

Hey anon, sorry for not getting to you sooner. We have a lot of questioned queued up to be answered but I decided to put you first since this is a pretty big issue.

To be a yandere fan, we’re in a rather precarious position. Like any fandom, we are plagued with bad apples that end up painting the community’s face as a whole. You know the type of bad apples that all fandoms have: the overzealous stans that either attack those outside the community for not sharing a view or catering to our fandom. We also suffer from infighting/bullying between yandere fans because not everyone shares the same views on what a yandere is or even for something as stupid as a yandere headcanon for a character that never was a yandere, to begin with. But unlike most fandoms, the works that we support tend to go against us at times. That is to say... since we’re a bit of an under “funded” (e.g. don’t have enough yandere media. Especially for male yanderes) fandom, people tend to quickly put CrAzY characters on a pedestal without question. And this hurts our credibility, ALOT. Having group within the fandom worshipping some non-yandere, psychotic girl as a yandere just because she’s kawaii while the more “sane” fans try to explain, “No, we swear yandere’s aren’t like that” doesn’t look good for our case.

Is there anything we can do about people attacking us for our preference? Not exactly, I’m sorry to say. The moment humans gained self-awareness and free will, universal mental unity became a myth. There will always be a disconnect, even on concepts that all humans should be in agreement on. Would you believe me if I say that some people don’t believe that people should be allowed to have a livable wage? Of course, people will have their reasons as to why they think a certain way regardless if it sounds logical or not. Just because they have a reason doesn’t mean it’s reasonable but in a world where emotions is king, logical will never win.

People who attack you for liking yanderes most likely were victims of abuse and went through some sort of trauma that yanderes are usually identified/linked with. If they weren’t direct victims then they know someone who is a victim. And if it isn’t either of these two, then they’re most likely a bleeding heart with a “higher than thou” sense of morality. Regardless of the reasoning, they all have their hearts in the right places but rigid in their perspective of the world. Already, the decision is cemented and may never change. To most, we’re as egregious as pedophiles and incest-lovers just because we like villains. After all: “How in the world could anyone remotely ‘like’ such awful people?! Clearly, there is something wrong with THEM.” Of course, we have our reasons for liking yanderes but most people close their ears and eyes since they already judged us based on our interest. For those who were victims of abuse or know someone, I understand that they’re reaching out to attack those who seem to defend characters that may or may not be similar to their assailant/abuser. They attack, they defend invisible victims, and in a way, looking for purpose... looking at how they can turn their trauma into a positive. But most of the time, they overstep their boundaries and try to enforce their authority in something they don’t understand.

The only way we can approach these types of people is to send an open invitation for a diplomatic talk in trying to reach a middle ground. While a change of opinion would be nice, it would be nearly impossible since a lot of people are grounded in their personal moral compass. If they are open for a conversation, then all hope is not lost. Ideally, if a conversation is open then the most important thing is to validate their emotions invested in this situation. 9 out of time 10, people are stubborn in an argument because they feel like they’re getting personally targeted either by their identity, their pride, or their emotions. Therefore, they double down and become louder in their argument, not because of their view but because they believe they are defending themselves. From there, once the other recognize that you aren’t attacking them, you shift the conversation onto yourself and point out how they were making you feel the same away but they were actively attacking you; not only that, treating you as less than human just because you prefer villainous FICTIONAL characters. Ideally, at this point, the other recognizes their hypocrisy and you both agree in staying in your own lanes. If by some miracle they’re open of a different perspective, then you’re given a platform to say why you like yanderes... typical reasons being the idea of unconditional love or coping.

But this is all hypothetical and the most desirable outcome. But more than often, people are more than comfortable at screaming at you every time you try to open your mouth... most likely something they learned because someone shut them down in such a way. Not only that, they most likely formed their own counter-arguments already since a lot of yandere fans have the same reasons as to why they like yanderes: unconditional love or coping. The counter-argument can usually be boiled down to two reasons: unethical and risking future victims seeking a “yandere” partner. Ethicality... this is a low hanging fruit to argue. Everyone (well the majority of people, again it’s universally impossible to be on the same page) would agree that it’s bad to stalk a person. Even a yandere fan would say never to stalk a person IRL. But because of this, they think they got you in an “ethical checkmate”. It’s a cheap argument and they’re just trying to make you feel like a monster for your preferences in fictional characters. Funny enough, this is a tactic that abusers would use to shame their victim into compliance... hm...

The second counter-argument people use is “think of the youths!” Let’s be real... it’s scientifically proven that kids and teens are easily impressionable because of their underdeveloped brains and lack of experience. Not only the concerns of the younger members of society, they fear that by allowing us to enjoy our media, we are “normalizing” abusive relationships in society. Considering the state of the United State’s government, I understand where the fear is coming from. But they’re barking up the wrong tree and especially using the wrong method in preventing this dystopian future. I always see these people bring up the ‘Jaws’ case as to why there should be no yanderes and no support for them. You know, the case where there was a sudden increase in shark hunting due to public fear which pushed certain shark species into endangerment. It’s always this argument, I swear... anyways, they always toss this without never diving in deeper as to why this happened.

Before Jaws, people didn’t know anything about sharks in general. There just wasn’t any interest in sharks because we humans just didn’t find time interesting at the time. They were there and we can’t really eat sharks. But, there were already tales about sharks being “man-eaters” from those stranded out at sea or curious citizens. The stereotype was already there. But Jaws brought sharks to the forefront of public scrutiny and shark hunting competitions came up because “what’s the harm? Sharks are man-eaters”. This dropped the shark population, but because of this there was an interest in sharks, funding to research them suddenly increased. Scientist turned their attention on sharks while later on fed to informing the public, making them educated and less scared of shark attacks. Jaws came out in 1975... Shark Week on the discovery channel came out in 1988... there’s a reason, folks. People became interested in sharks. Yes, Jaws hurt the shark population but it’s slowly been going up. Damage takes time to repair. But it also brought about awareness. While the stereotype isn’t dead (that’s just humans at this point and it’s always been a stereotype ever since man was on a boat), it opened a conversation. And that’s the key point here. (Here’s a link. But you can go even further if you research)

Abusive relationships, manipulative people, toxic actions... these are nothing new. “Getting rid” of yandere fans will not solve this issue, just like telling your kid “there are kids starving in Africa” will not end world hunger. For the Jaws example, I point to the argument that politicians make about how video games create violent people. We know that it’s nonsense, you know it’s nonsense. But there is a fear of the “unknown”. People back then thought that cartoons like Tom and Jerry would cause kids to grow up violent. And even further back, people thought that reading books created lazy people. The fear on what’s on TV is a fear people had since the beginning of time. People aren’t as soft as they believe they are but they can lack information... Instead of shutting down people and censor what goes on TV, use it as a stepping stone for the bigger conversation. It’s a lack of knowledge and fear of the unknown that killed the sharks but it is knowledge that is now protecting them.

This is especially important for our younger peers. Raise of hands, who actually changed their minds as a teenager after someone called you stupid or told you “no” with giving a logical reason besides “because I say so.” I’m going to guess we got an empty room here. Attacking our younger peers or those who are older just because they like a character trope IS NOT HELPING THEM AND ESPECIALLY NOT MAKING THE ATTACKERS LOOK LIKE HEROES. THEY LOOK LIKE JACKASSES. Fuck man, the younger ones want acceptance and looking a supportive group by joining a fandom. Calling them toxic just pushes them to the edge these people never wanted them to be. The same applying to the older ones. We all got our issues and y’all never know what it is. That’s why I hate seeing people in our fandom gatekeep against our younger peers. They’re going to come in even though you say crap like “Lmaooo, my blog/game is 18+! Okay, byeeeee!” If you want to protect them then be their fucking guide, my dudes. You can have a mature conversation with them and explain the difference between fiction and reality and what’s wrong and right. “Yanderes are pretty cool, ay sport? But notice how that guy gaslighted the girl? That is a common tactic people do IRL. Be sure to recognize it as a red flag.” Fuck, is that so fucking hard for everyone? Some people act like they never grew on the internet during the early 2000s.Y’all were a teenager once. If what you’re doing wouldn’t help teenage you in the past, then you’re doing it wrong. Smh.

Finally, I do want to make a point for those who use coping reasons. While I do understand where you’re coming from, you guys are our most vulnerable to these attacks but also the reason for the attacks as well. It’s the mindset of “How could you support something like this?! You must be a horrible person.” I know a lot of people aren’t like that but also, we got bad apples... people who take this for coping reasons way too far. To them, I ask them to come back from the edge and let’s look for help together. Using yanderes to embrace “yandere tendencies” or rationalizing your abuse as normal isn’t the way. Use it to help you breathe and help you feel grounded but don’t let it define you... especially don’t make it a lifeline. As for those who know the difference and can separate fiction from reality, I applaud you but you got some work in helping those who are too deep. I’ve seen some of the yandere Tumblr group chats on the app. I’ll be real... YIKES. It’s a bit of an echo chamber. I ended up having to message a user on a side since I saw red flags in the group chat when I was lurking. People were trying to give the wrong help by encouraging their actions. Just... don’t do this y’all. I get you relate but don’t get your homie in jail or a court date for a restraining order.

Anyways, I’m sorry anon for pulling farther and farther away from you specifically since this is a big issue that everyone tackles and I’m also sorry that I can’t give you an “end all” answer. First, you can try having a civil conversation with these people. Try for the middle ground and if you feel like you can push further, then try to do a change of mind. But I know this is hard, especially when tensions build and emotions get heated. But it’s important to never explode that anger... or at least direct that anger into a logical response. The moment you explode and made an error of judgment, you will lose and suffer publically. If a conversation isn’t possible, then encourage these people to stay in their lane and unfollow you. Why the fuck are they following you if they hate the things you reblog? Sounds unhealthy... suggest some hobbies or blogs to follow instead. From there, if they try to continue the hate, just block them and delete the messages. As they say, don’t feed the trolls. Y’all may think you’ve seen all the hate anons we get but we get a lot more than what we answer. We just delete them because they’re typically incoherent or stupid. They don’t come back lol.

From there, anon, surround yourself with people who you find agreeable and who you relate to. A lot of yandere blogs are down for a talk, I’ll be real. Just be sure you open up that you want to be friends lol. So... yeah. I’m sorry this isn’t perfect, but I hope it helps. Don’t be afraid of being yourself!

uswnt anon here! yeah like you said, i believe there must be a loophole that Press managed to make use of, but i do think that that mightve only been a temporary/short term solution. afterall, she ended up going to utah after 3 months of her second stint at Kopparbergs/Göteborg. i do wonder if Houston didnt trade her rights then, what wouldve happened (the whole Houston debacle is another highlight of how cruel the trade system is, on top of even more recent stories of players like Stengel). (1)

but i completely agree with you about the terms of the NWSL. i think it's been made abundantly clear, by national and international players (ie Asllani, Henry) and pundits alike, that the NWSL's model is doing them in. i know a lot, if not all, of us hate it when people like to chalk up the league to be the best in the world, but i believe that's just misplaced analysis because the players of best (im going off by recent results/rankings here) team in the world play there.

it's clear that the way things are run, that USSF cares more about maintaining their national team status than the proper maintenance of the NWSL. but i also do think that as long as the NWSL keeps its really weird season schedule, that the USWNT cant (excluding the actual clause that they have to play in the league) find it in their heart to leave the league, knowing how horribly wrong it can all go.

i think the draft system is also what's affecting the youth teams. the draft system takes in your collegiate athletes, and while great for those athletes, it also screws with whoever cant go to university. which is a whole other conversation about privilege but let's leave it at that for now. i think what we might have missed out on about youth development is that other countries have club academies. the NWSL doesnt have that. their collegiate athletes are their "development/youth" players when compared to other leagues. and i do think in the long run, this will mess with them since other national teams are just getting younger and younger with more investment. Harvey can be seen as the saviour of the youth teams but i do believe the reality is that the problem lies within the NWSL and USSF-USWNT system. and i think, as i believe most of us do, that so long as the system doesnt change, the USWNT/NWSL will suffer. i dont think they'll be dethroned so easily but it's not benefitting them, especially when salary caps (even though recently increased) exist for international players while the transfer market values will keep rising. we'll probably see more and more migrations like the aussies have done this season (probably the kiwis next).

i'd like to link some articles if you wouldnt mind! and i also do realise how the articles will make me look like a Caitlin Murray fan, which i am but i swear the articles of her i found to send this ask were coincidental (i mean she's one of the USWNT's best journalists so it's probably why they’re from her). once again I couldn’t agree with you more! It’s true that there’s more than just them being contractually bounded to the NWSL, even if they were able to get around this USSF holds more power over them than they hold over USSF when they’re holding trophies, medals and olympics over their heads especially. Plus the summer schedule the league has does nothing to help the situation since it’s very hard to join a winter season European league for a full season or something. Obviously now would be as good a time as any to transition given the shorter nature of the challenge cup, but I don’t see this happening on such short notice for many reasons.

As for the youth team conversation, it’s the case in most of not all places that elite sport is a privileged department, but I particularly see this to be the case in the US where football from a young age, right up to college even if you get a scholarship, is really damn expensive to stay in. So I definitely agree with you that this is a very limiting factor on the pool of athletes they get. Hope Solo’s article about this too is also very insightful, stuff like “Imagine if the next LeBron James played soccer. But I don’t think we’re even looking for players in places like Akron, Ohio” proper puts things into perspective about privilege beyond just paying for training and playing but also scouting location etc. Definitely an uncomfortable and though-provoking must read.

Youth academies, like both you and that article said, are an important step on the path towards development and yet they’re practically nonexistent and unused in the nwsl. Plus I really like Murray’s point about homegrown talent rule, I think that could be really beneficial on a lot of levels if it is finally put into place. Also she mentions the difference in resources between NCAA unis and nwsl clubs like an anon mentioned here earlier, which tbh is pretty shocking to me. Like how can university facilities be more competent and welcoming than elite club ones?? The fact that some call it the best league in the world when financially it is so on edge is pretty mind-boggling in my opinion.

Thanks for the link to the Press saga too, a very interesting more indepth insight into all that mess which honestly looks like not much was learnt from. I also like her point between women and men when they are forced to play somewhere they don’t want to, since there are both less viable options and also less mega-large pay checks involved to influence their decisions. With the Horan article being more of the same about being forced back to the US for an uswnt shot, again against what she would have preferred to do in a first instance. Plus it’s interesting that Gulati actually specifically states the contractual binding by saying that “It was actually part of our contractual agreement with the women’s national team that they would play in this [NWSL] league”. I’ll leave it there for now because this is getting way too long but thanks once again for all your resources and points to consider!!

Jame’s had just gotten to platform 9 ¾ , and said goodbye to his parent’s before hopping on the train dragging his trunk behind him. He walked down the aisle peering into each compartment looking for Sirius, he knew Sirius had to be here somewhere cause he was always the first on the train of his friends. James was almost to the back of the train when he looked to his left, and saw a familiar head of black hair and a black leather jacket.

“Hey Sirius!” James pulled open the compartment door and hauled his trunk in behind him. Sirius looked up from the window he was looking out of, and cracked a smile.

“Ah finally some decent company” James let out a hearty laugh as he sat down across from him.

“What were you looking at, pads?” James questioned with a small smirk on his face. Sirius whipped his head around and turned a light shade of pink before answering,

“What? Nothing.” James' smile widened with amusement as he raised his eyebrows at his best friend, but he didn’t question any further. Just then the door slid open again to reveal Remus,

“Hey guys. Am i walking in on something?” he questioned, also with an amused grin on his face as he looked between James and Sirius. Sirius turned a brighter shade of red at this and turned back the window, not responding.

“Oh no, not at all moony dear friend,” James started, “it’s just pads here, has a crush!” Sirius shot him a glare and muttered a “Shut up prongs”

Remus had sat down next to James who was saying “come on, who is it?” But Sirius didn’t respond, so they dropped the subject sitting in a comfortable silence until Peter came in, and the mindless chatter started.

“No way!! There's no way Mcgonagall would fall for that!” James had been saying before the compartment door slid open and Lily stepped in , with her arms crossed.

“Fall for what?” she questioned with an eyebrow raised and giving them a piercing look. James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter had previously all been planning some of their pranks for throughout the year, before Lily entered. All previous conversation ceased as they looked up at her, and this time it was James whose face had turned a bright shade of pink.

“Oh nothing” James said cooley, while putting his elbow across the seat behind Remus' head so that his head was resting on his hand. This would’ve looked cool and nonchalant, if his elbow hadn't slipped causing him to fall forward onto Remus’ lap while also elbowing him in the back of the head. Lily simply rolled her eyes and was about to leave when one of her ravenclaw friends came up behind her to peer in at Remus. Remus quickly sat backup and fixed his hair once he saw the Ravenclaw boy looking in at them with a smile on his face.

“Hey Remus, you doin’ alright?” the Ravenclaw boy said with a flirty tone and twinkle in his eyes. Remus was very obviously flustered as he said “yeah, yeah great” now even brighter red than James was.

Sirius looked at the boy with anger and jealousy? But why was he jealous? He doesn't like the Ravenclaw boy, he doesn’t even know him. Sirius thought it must be because all the boys liked Remus, no one ever flirted with Sirius like that, yes that must be it. Sirius tore his eyes away from the sight, choosing instead to look aimlessly out the window.

“Dang Remus, who was the hottie?” Peter asked after the boy and Lily had left. Remus just buried his face in his hands in embarrassment, while Peter and James laughed and nudged Remus hyping him up. But Sirius couldn’t help but notice the smile on Remus’ face when he finally looked up from his hands. It was then that Sirius felt a tickle in the back of his throat and tried to clear it out.

“Hey anyone have a bottle of water?” he asked horsley. Peter grabbed some from his bag and handed it over to Sirius,

”You better not be getting sick Pads, the year hasn’t even started yet” James had said as Sirius took a sip of the water, Peter and Remus nodding in agreement

“Ah don’t worry it's just a tickle in my throat is all.” Sirius said with a smirk, he did hope he wasn’t getting sick.

Sirius supposed he must be getting a cold, because at the feast later that night he had started to get a cough. It was right when he noticed the ravenclaw boy staring at remus from across the hall. He didn’t think much of it until the next afternoon when they were in the common room during their off period. He had gone into a coughing fit.

“so, Remus whats up with this ravenclaw boy that keeps flirting with you” James had been saying

“i honestly don’t know, we’ve only met a few times before, i mean i dont even know his name-” Remus’ answer was cut of by Sirius trying to hold in a cough which just made him go into a coughing fit.

“Are you sure you’re alright Sirius? Maybe you should go to Madam Pomfreys” Peter had said

“No I’m fine, its just a cold is all” Sirius insisted, while the others continued to look concerned but didn’t bother to argue. this went on for a few days until finally one night, Sirius decided to go to bed earlier then his friends and went into a coughing fit. He could feel something in the back of his throat, he almost gagged on it as he coughed it up and it landed in the palm of his hand. A flower petal, a small white flower petal. How had he coughed up a flower pedal? Sirius decided to keep this to himself he didn’t need his friends fussing and insisting he go to madam pomfrey, so he stuck it in the drawer of the night stand next to his bed and layed down to go to sleep.

Over the next week it just got worse, until eventually he coughed up a whole flower, a daffodil, a white daffodil. It had become a problem in his classes too, going into coughing fits every so often, until finally Mcgonagall sent him to Madam pomfreys. He insisted that he didn’t need to that it was just a cold.

“Oh come on Minnie, It’s just a cold. i don’t need to go to madam pomfreys” But she was more stubborn and, finally, he gave in.

“Alright Alright im going” and he picked up his bag and started the walk over to the infirmary.

“hmm this is most unusual, i’ve only seen this a small handful of times” Madam Pomfrey had said, “what you’ve got Black, is called the Hanahaki disease”

“Im sorry the what disease?” madam pomfrey made a small grunt of frustration

“The Hanahaki disease, its an extremely rare disease where the patient coughs up flower petals, it’s caused when someone suffers from a one sided love” she had a sad look on her face now.

“well how do you cure it?” Sirius was more then ready to stop coughing up flowers, but madam pomfrey didn’t respond right away. She didn’t bustle off to get some potion for him to drink, she didn’t assure him that he’d be out of there in a couple days, or hours. She just stood there with a sad look on her face, until in a very quiet voice she responded

“it stops when the love is returned, or- or when- when the patient dies.” Sirius stared at her dumbfounded, he was going to die?

“I- I’m going, to die?” he continued staring up at her from the bed he was sitting on. she let out a small sob and nodded slowly.

“I must go inform your head of house and the head master” she said quickly before bustling off to her office. Sirius couldn’t believe it, was he really going to die? there was still a chance though, if Remus could love him back, but he quickly shut that idea down. That wasn’t going to happen.

Sirius layed down, resting his hands over his stomach and his ankles crossed, he stared up at the ceiling. Of all the times he thought he might die, this time was by far the scariest, his love for Remus was quite literally, was going to kill him. he could feel his eyes filling up with tears as he let out a shaky breath, and quickly blinked them away.

he wasn’t quite sure how long he was laying there before he heard voices, hushed whispers he couldn’t quite make out. He sat up slowly, using his hands to prop himself up, looking around for who was talking. He looked to his right to see madam pomfrey, mcgonagall, and dumbledore, they noticed him watching and made their way over.

“why the long faces?” sirius cracked a smile for a second before it disappeared.

“so McG, how long have i got?” He said with false enthusiasm, and she let out a small, sad, chuckle.

“well madam pomfrey estimates a little- a little over a week” Sirius’ smile fell, he hadn’t expected to have such little time.

“oh,” he paused for a minute, a sad silence falling over them, “I don’t want anyone to know- please. and i can keep going to classes right?” he said the last part with a hopeful glint in his eyes. Madam pomfrey had looked surprised at this

“go to classes? I must insist you stay in here”

“no please i want to go to classes, i can’t stay in here until- until- please” he looked up at them with sad but hopeful look on his face.

“oh alright, there isnt much i can do anyways, but i must insist that if it starts to get bad you come here immediately” she said after a long pause

“as for not telling your friends, if you dont wish for them to know then we have no right to tell them. although it is my personal opinion that you should, your friends care deeply for you. yet i will not make you” Dumbledore spoke for the first time, as he looked sadly at Sirius.

the next week went pretty normally for the most part. James, Remus, and Peter had gotten increasingly more worried with each passing day, but gave up pestering Sirius about it, because each time they would he would get annoyed or just change the subject. It was nice that they cared but he just didn’t want them to treat him any different than usual, which they were sure to do if he told them he was dying.

Sirius was in their dorm alone having another coughing fit, he could feel the flower in the back of his throat, except it felt longer, was more painful. He could feel it scratching his throat as it cam up slowly until the head of the daffodil was in his mouth. He reached into his mouth and pulled it out the rest of the way, gagging as he did so. He gasped for breath as the flower fell on to his bed, he could taste the metallic flavor of the blood in his throat. He looked down at the flower on his bed, a beautiful white daffodil, stem and all. this wasn’t the last one with a stem, oh no far from it.

they got worse as time went by, he had to excuse himself at least once per class period so he could pull out the flowers. All his teachers were informed of his disease, so they never tried to stop him. by the end of the week his throat had been scratched raw, and he was coughing blood regularly.

Sirius knew he only had a few days left if that, when James had walked in on him siting on his bed crying softly. James didn’t ask what was wrong, he didn’t say anything. He just walked over to Sirius and hugged him, it was almost like he knew, like he knew Sirius’ time was limited. they sat like that for awhile, Sirius sniffling every now and then with James’ arm wrapped around him.

it was 2 days latter when Sirius walked out of charms and headed straight for the bathroom, he could feel it in the back of his throat as he all but ran to the bathroom. He burst the door open running over to the sink as he tried to cough up the daffodil. This one was much worse then usual, he could feel the blood in the back of his throat with the daffodil. he fell onto his knees, his hands in front of him holding himself up. his vision was blurry as gagged and choked on the flower trying to get it out. when he felt a pair of arms around him, someone was calling his name.

“Sirius, Sirius!” it was Remus, he must’ve followed him when he walked out of class. it was another few seconds before Sirius finally coughed up the flower, and quite a bit of blood too. But he still couldn't breathe properly, he felt his eyes brimming with tears as he thought, this is it, im dying, he heard Remus yelling for James.

“JAMES! JAMES GET IN HERE!” he heard the door fly open and a few seconds later felt another pair of hands helping him up. he looked back at the floor, it was a gruesome sight, a pool of blood with a disturbingly beautiful snow white daffodil in the middle. It took sirius a minute to realize that they were walking, that they had left the bathroom already, in fact they were almost to the infirmary.

Sirius could hear crying, was it remus? was he crying? he heard another set of doors open and Peter yelling for help. Peter, when did Peter get here? had he been here the whole time?

madam pomfrey came rushing over telling James and Remus where to lay Sirius down. He heard her insisting that they leave, that they wait outside. He heard their protests, saying they wanted to stay with their friend. Sirius had started to cry, he didn’t want to go, he didn’t want to leave his friends.

Remus was sitting in charms with Sirius, James, and Peter when Sirius stood up abruptly and rushed out. Sirius had done this almost every class period. Remus looked over at james and peter who also wore concerned expressions.

“come on” muttered remus, and they all stood up and followed after sirius.

Sirius had been sick ever since the train ride to school and every time any of them brought it up he got frustrated and changed the subject. well no more they wanted to know what was wrong and they weren’t leaving till the got them.Not only this, but he had been acting even weirder since his trip to madam pomfreys last week when mcgonagall had made him go.

“i’ll go in and see if he’s alright, and you two wait out here, sound good?” remus looked at James and Peter who both nodded in agreement.

remus opened the bathroom door and walked in to find sirius kneeling on the floor with a very small pool of blood under where his head was hanging. “oh my gosh” remus said quietly, rushing over to him. remus fell down to his knees next to sirius, and wrapped his arms around him.

“sirius, sirius!” remus tried to get his attention but he didnt respond. his coughs were shaking his whole body as he coughed something up, was it? was that a flower? he coughed up a lot of blood, they were now almost sitting in a small pool of it. remus thought maybe sirius would be able to catch his breath now he had coughed up the flower but he couldnt. remus could hear sirius trying, and failling to breath in enough air. they needed to get him to madam pomfreys, but remus couldnt get sirius up on his own.

“JAMES! JAMES GET IN HERE!” James burst in through the door, and only froze for a second at the sight before rushing over to sirius’ other side to help him up.

“we need to get to madam pomfreys” remus informed jamesas they lifted him up, one arm over each of their shoulders. they walked with sirius in between them down to the infirmary, as they walked sirius had started to cry still trying to breathe properly

“it’s alright” james had started whispering to sirius, although he was so out of it, he probably didn’t hear him.

once they got to the infirmary peter went ahead of them to hold open the door and call for madam pomfrey.

“madam pomfrey, help! its sirius!” she was there in an instant directing them where to put him down,,

“there that bed there, set him down. nice and easy now.” as soon as they had let him down madam pomfrey was telling them to wait outside.

“i need you guys to wait outside, you dont need to see this” they immediately started protesting.

“no im not leaving!”

“he needs us!”

“we’re his friends!”

but they gave in and waited outside.

as soon as they were outside remus collapsed into a ball onto the floor, and started crying. James and Peter sat next to him, James putting his arm around him and pulled him into his side.

“is he going to die? there was so much blood, he was covered in it” Peter had said quietly in his squeaky voice.

“dont talk like that peter, of course not” james had said, even though he wasnt quite sure he believed it. they sat there for a small moment before remus finally spoke.

“i love him” was all he said, in a soft, broken voice. “i can’t lose him, i- i cant”

James pulled him closer and said “i know, i know you do moony” James was letting his tears fall freely now as he rested his head on remus’

sirius rolled over onto his side hacking and coughing, he could see madam pomfrey there holding a bin for him to cough up anything he needed to. when suddenly he could breathe again, just like that. he took in a deep breathe and let it out, doing that a few times. his vision started clearing up, everything wasn’t so black, he rolled over onto his back and took a deep breath of sweet sweet fresh air.

YOUR MATCH IS: Daichi Sawamura!

Why Daichi?

Unlike a lot of the other Haikyuu guys, Daichi wouldn’t be in your face with energetic excitement over meeting you, which I think would suit your personality type pretty well. He would be able to see right away if you were feeling shy or uncomfortable and give you your space. He’s also patient enough to let you open up to him at your own pace. Once you trust him enough to really be yourself around him, he’s going to cherish those moments so much. He’ll probably feel like he can relax more around you as well.

Slytherins tend to be ambitious and INFJs live by their own personal set of values which can make them intimidating and sometimes difficult to get to know. I think Daichi is secure enough in himself that he’d be able to hold his own and not be overshadowed by these types of traits. He’d also be very understanding and respectful of your opinions and feelings. If you’re ever feeling extra emotional though, he will always be there to support you. You never have to worry about being vulnerable around him. He’ll always be there to give and receive your hugs.

Daichi is VERY passionate and serious about volleyball, so he’ll be very happy that you don’t mind listening to him rant and rave about his games and practices. Don’t be surprised if he asks for your advice about how to handle any drama that might show up between his teammates. He’ll also want to know all about your hobbies, so don’t be afraid to ramble about your dancing or piano. If you ever have recitals or concerts, he’s always going to be there to show his support.

SHORT STORY

The first time you sort of talked to Daichi was in front of a vending machine in front of the recreation center in your town. He was a member of the local community volleyball team, so he often went there for practices. You occasionally visited the building as well to work on your dances. It wasn’t your favorite place to go because of how crowded and busy it could be, but it was one of the only places near your house with practice spaces equipped with wall length mirrors that helped you perfect certain moves and techniques.

“Hello,” Daichi greets you as you walk up. He puts his coins into the machine and selects a bottle of green tea. “It’s so humid today.” He grabs his drink and moves out of the way for you. You just hum in response while choosing a drink quickly.

“I wish they’d invest in some air conditioning,” he tries to make conversation while using the towel around his neck to wipe some sweat from his face. “Those box fans are just not cutting it.”

“Yeah,” you mumble in agreement before rushing back to your practice room with your drink in hand, leaving Daichi wondering if he’d said or did something weird to freak you out. He had seen you around before, but you were always alone, so maybe you just preferred to keep to yourself. He didn’t think much more about it until the first time he saw you dance. For someone who seemed so quiet and shy, it was a shock for him to see you expressing yourself in such an unguarded way. He found himself wanting to get to know more about that side of you. Plus, he thought you looked really cute after practicing with your long hair tied up to keep it out of the way.

The next time he got the chance to talk to you, he asked about your dancing. He wanted to know why you’d chosen the contemporary style, and if you had any special warm ups or exercises you had to do to. He also told you about some of the aches and pains he got related to volleyball, wondering if you had any suggestions for stretches he could do or any other advice.

You were really quiet at first, but Daichi didn’t seem to mind. Whenever it looked like you were getting uncomfortable, he would excuse himself to give you some space. It made him happy though whenever you hung around for a few minutes to listen to him ramble about an upcoming match with a neighboring town’s volleyball team.

One day, after getting out of practice, you noticed it was raining really hard and that Daichi didn’t seem to have an umbrella. You hesitated for a moment before deciding you didn’t mind helping him out. He was relieved when you offered to walk with him to the train station so that you could share an umbrella. After that, it became routine for you two to walk to the train station together. Conversation between you both got a little easier from then on, and you found yourself sharing ideas or opinions you normally kept to yourself. When Daichi finally worked up the courage to ask you on a date, you found yourself happily accepting.

since ghost wants a defending post i will also make one

hi! as yall seem to commonly know me since it was my user before i changed it, im star child. im that overgrown cow that's smearing names and causing drama whats up

i would be a mature adult and DM you ghost but honestly i know you'd probably just spend ages trying to defend yourself fruitlessly and also i have you blocked so whatever

here's the screenshots i have available (sent to me by very kind users in the chat who felt i should know what was being said after i left) and my comments to go along with it

some background: this discussion was happening in a channel called 'real-images'. a place where you would not expect a conversation about docking to be taking place.

i clicked into this channel to see what was happening and as you know, with discord, it automatically puts you on the oldest unread message when you click into that chat. i was greeted by conversations about cropping and docking - choke chains may have been mentioned, im unsure, because as soon as i saw the conversation i began to feel sick and so clicked out without skimming through the convo.

i went into 'questions' and asked if they had a way of requesting certain topics to be tagged and that's pretty much where this begins.

first i'd like to say 'don't enter the channel' hey ghost, how was i supposed to know that clicking into a channel to share pictures would lead to me walking into a conversation about my trigger? are you really going to blame me for that, huh?

second, this was me literally asking slash 'speaking up' about the topic. why was there any need to get this passive aggressive over it? i put in a request. you could have said yes. you could have said no. you could have said 'sorry we can't blacklist it but we'll try to ask people to spoil it or put a warning'. instead you told me to 'go off' and put :) which yeah we all know what that emoji means you weren't being friendly or subtle

we all know neons a big advocate for choke chains and shock collars as well as whole host of other mistreating animals. i'll make a second submission on that if people care but neons animal care? whack. bro i hope you grow up and learn to look after your pets.

anyway, mods please tell me why neon was allowed to get involved and say 'they just let their opinions get the better of them and speak out of turn' to be greeted with agreements and being told it was fine when it really wasn't fine.

it's really nice how this convenient controversial chat only popped up after i started talking about the way i was treated in another chat huh. a whole half hour later when i'd already posted screenshots and vented and let people know what happened. love the damage control here

something said to me outside of cottontails but this is in retaliation to the 'why didnt you speak up earlier' other than the simple fact i wasnt there lol. neon always likes to talk about these nasty little dog topics. if i'd butted into a convo i hadnt been a part of previously and said 'can we not discuss this?' i'd love to bet a whole 25$ that ghost would've told me to just mute the channel, or neon would've ignored me or told me to "just not argue uwu". either way y'all were going to get angry at me for my trigger.

'don't want to butt in with my opinion but-' neon all you ever literally do is butt into conversations its practically your only personality trait other than mistreating ur animals lol. 'made things difficult' 'i'm vocal about my opinions' and then telling me to shut up about mine? okay if you say so.

Adam, 'we can't blacklist every topic users find uncomfortable' I'd like to point out again that a literal trigger is something very different to being uncomfortable! and on top of that it wasn't like i was asking you to trigger tag mentions of a popular character, or a food, or a language, or a colour. i was asking you to trigger tag a very controversial conversation centered around cropping, docking, and choke chains. an extremely heavy topic. not a minor inconvenience.

oh!! also conviently gonna add that "come for our side of the story" - you know one of your staff did that right? they went to a species owner of a species im involved in and tried to get me banned for causing drama? but didnt give any information or screenshots, and i had to provide them all to the owner to make sure the whole story was out? convenient how you just forget screenshots when they make you look bad.

this is long so

tl;dr ghost was p nasty abt the convo. they made fun of people being sensitive. they told me my trigger was a minor inconvenience and not important enough to tag. they only added a controversial topic after i kicked off because they didnt want their asses in trouble. neon got involved and isnt even staff so idk why they did.

He saved me/ part 4

Summary: reader is in a abusive relationship. When things take a turn for the worst she finds help in the winchesters.

Warning: there will be ssmut, violence, torture, abuse and language. If you triggered by any of this i suggest you not read.

A few hours later it was completely dark. Sam laid in the back seat as best he could with his headphones in sound asleep. Dean had ac/dc playing on the radio and i started singing along to my favorite song. 'You shook me all night long.' Dean looked over at me and smiled at my off key singing. Instead of poking fun at me he joined in.

After the song ended he spoke, "i didnt think you were a classic rock kind of girl."

"What kind of music did you think i liked?"

He shrugged, "that rap crap. Ya know bass blaring kinda stuff."

I laughed, "i like all kinds of music but you cant beat the classics."

"Hell yeah!" He fist bumped into the air. I couldnt hellp but smile. His carefree side was something for sure. My heart raced just by looking at him. His lips looked so soft and i wanted to kiss them. My eyes traveled down his body, i remembered his abs and chest so toned. My eyes rested on his crotch, from the outline i saw earlier he had to be huge.

"Darlin' if you dont stop looking at me that way..." he said in a raspy voice.

I whipped my head around so fast it made me dizzy. I shrank as close to the door as i could, keeping my eyes fixed on my hands. "Im so sorry. Please....i didnt..."

His hand grabbed mine and he intertwined our fingers. "Dont be sorry. I love the way you look at me, but right now youre in no condition to do what im wanting to do."

I blushed at his words, but felt a tinge of horror in my heart. "Why would you want me? Im a nobody, im worthless." I whispered.

"(Y/N) look at me." I kept my eyes on our hands. "Look. At. Me" he said more forcefully this time. I slowly turned my head and lifted my eyes to meet his. "Do not ever, and i mean ever let me hear those words come out of your mouth again. You are not worthless. You are somebody to me. Dont you ever second guess it again. Do you understand me?"

His eyes shown truth in his words. I have never had someone say that to me. I nodded in agreement but yet parkers words still sounded in my head.

'No man will ever want you after what ive done to you. You will disgust them. Just look at you, if i was any less of a man i would be disgusted. Youre fat and ugly. Your pussy isnt going to look or feel the same after this. No man will ever want to touch you again.'

"(Y/N)." Deans voice pulled me out of my thoughts. Our hands still twined together, i pulled away thinking parker was right. Dean was just being nice after what i went through. After i healed hed throw me to the curb just like everyone else did.

"You hungry? Im gonna fill up, theres a deli inside that makes subs. Want one?" Dean asked. I shook my head and turned towards the window before he could see the tears that slipped out from beneath my lashes.

He slowly got out of the car and finally i was in silence, except for sams light snoring. Dean is an amazing man, he could have any girl he wanted. He wont want a broken shell of a woman like me. I shouldve just let parker kill me. The world would be better off, dean and sam would be better off too. They wouldnt have to worry about taking care of me and have me be a burden to them.

Dean got back in the car a few minutes later holding three bags. "I figured since you liked pizza youd like this. They had pizza subs in there, i got you a drink too. I expect you to eat every bite. No arguments." He handed me the bag and i had to admit it smelled amazing. My stomach growled at the smell and he smiled and pointed to the bag.

I gave in and unwrapped it and took a bite. I havent had food this good since before i got with parker. I was lucky to have a can of cat food to eat even then i had to make it last a week, while parker on the other hand would fix himself whatever he wanted. He wanted me to lose weight.

The thoughts about me being over weight claimed my appetite and i put the sub back in the wrapper and placed it beside dean. "Thanks but im still full from earlier."

He pulled the car over on the side of the road, he turned to me quickly. "I know what youre thinking and dont do it. Eat it or i will force feed you right here right now."

Tears pooled in my eyes and he sighed, "look, im sorry im not trying to force you but you need to eat. If you dont youre not going to get better. Im just trying to take care of you." He grabbed my hand "(Y/N), what is keeping you from eating?"

I inhaled and the words just tumbled out. "Im fat, parker told me. I can see it myself. My stomach is to big, my thighs touch. Im ugly. I shouldnt eat so much. Parker only gave me a can of food a week."

Deans grip on the steering wheel tightend, i saw his knuckles turn white. "I swear that fucker is going to suffer for what hes done to you." I tried to pull my hand away but his grip tightend. "Dont pull away. I know its hard for you to realize this now but i am not parker. Youre beautiful and youre not fat. In my eyes youre the most beautiful woman i have ever seen. So no one elses opinion matters but mine."

I shook my head "dean youre just being nice because of everything that happened."

He rubbed his hand over his face in frustration, "no im not. Im telling you the truth. Now eat. We will sit here until you do." Just to prove his point he turned the key and the cars engine shut off. I sighed in defeat and started eating again.

He smiled seemingly pleased with himself. Soon we were back on the road. After i finished my sub i placed the wrapper in the bag and leaned my head over on the window. "Here." Dean said and i looked over towards him. He held his jacket out to me, i smiled "thank you." I waded it up and used it as a pillow. A pillow that smelled just like him. Soon enough i was asleep.

I woke up in a bed but this time it wasnt a hospital bed. It was softer and the covers were a bit scratchy but i was comfortable. The pillows smelled familiar, like dean. I looked around and only saw a dresser and a table with a lamp on it. I must be in his room at their house.

The door was open, i moved my leg to see if it still hurt. "Damn it!" The pain seared through my leg and i knew there was no way i could put weight on it. I sighed because i couldnt do anything for myself. I hated feeling helpless.

"You okay?" I heard deans rough voice from the doorway. I looked up and he was leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed. My god he looked good. I shook my head, "i hate this. I have to depend on you for everything. Im a burden to you and sam."

He walked over and kneeled beside the bed, "you are not a burden. I take care of you because i want to."

I smiled at his kind words. Ive been doing alot of smiling lately thanks to dean. Hes got such a wonderful soul and heart. He looks rough on the outside but hes really a very caring person.

"Thank you dean. I cant tell you how much i really appreciate what you and your brother done for me. I just wish i could help out in some way, but i cant do anything because of my leg." I placed my hand on his cheek and he actually leaned into my touch. I cant explain whats going on between my heart and dean but i liked it.

He looked up into my eyes with such adoration it hurt. What is it about him?

"I actually have a friend that can help you, if you want to." Dean said cautiously.

"How can they help me? Are they a doctor?"

He shook his head, "i know this is gonna sound strange. Cas...hes an angel. He can heal you in a matter of seconds and make everything go away."

I raised my eyebrow at him. He just waited patiently as i thought it over. Demons are real and i did pray that god gave me strength when i was with parker. So why cant angels be real? I looked into his eyes and nodded.

He let out a breath i didnt realize he was holding. He bent his head "cas, i need you."

I heard a big flutter of wings and there was a man standing in the doorway wearing a trenchcoat. Not the way i pictured an angel looking.

"Hello dean." Cas said in a raspy voice.

"Hey cas, this is (Y/N). She needs you to heal her." Dean said sitting on the edge of the bed beside me.

Cas walked over to me, "hello (Y/N). My name is castiel. All i will have to do is place my hand on your head."

"Thats it?" I asked.

Cas nodded and then i nodded and i shut my eyes. I felt his hand on my forehead and a warm sensation filled me. A few seconds later i felt amazing. I opened my eyes and dean was smiling at me.

"You look even more beautiful than before." He said touching my cheek. I leaned into his touch just as he did mine earlier. I looked up at cas he was standing there awkwardly.

"Thank you cas." I said shyly and he nodded. With a flutter he was gone. I looked around the room but he wasnt there.

"He does that alot." Dean said. "Now would you like to get a shower?"

I closed my eyes at the thought, "oh yes that would be amazing." I moaned, i felt dean shift on the bed. He was turned to the side with his eyes closed.

I put my hand on his shoulder, "dean?" He took a deep breath and turned towards me. He smiled and stood up and held out his hand.

I took it and stood up, and it felt amazing to be able to stand up and move without hurting. I chuckled and moved my leg and bent it. Im sure i had the most ridiculous smile on my face, but i was geniuenly thankful for everything.

"Everything feel alright?"

"Everything feels great. Thank you so much." Before i could stop myself i stood on my tiptoes and kissed his cheek.

He flinched a little and looked down at me. "Im so sorry...i didnt..im sorry." I said faster than i wanted to. I tried to turn away but he grabbed my wrist and turned me back to face him. He crashed his lips into mine and growled. His fingers tangled in my hair and pulled lightly. I bit his lower lip and moaned into his mouth.

I ran my hand up his flannel shirt and went to unbutton it when he grabbed my hands and pulled away from me. "No, i cant."

I backed away casting my eyes down to the floor, fiddling with the drawstring on my borrowed sweat pants. "No, im sorry. It was stupid of me to even think..."

He opened his mouth to speak but i just shook my head, "its okay dean you dont have to explain. I get it. Can you please show me where i can freshen up? I dont have any clothes so if its not to much trouble can i borrow these again?"

He walked over to his dresser and pulled out a pair of shorts and a shirt. "You can wear anything of mine you want until we can get you some clothes."

I nodded and took the clothes from him. He walked me down the hallway to the bathroom and showed me where the towels and wash cloths were before shutting the door.

After a nice long hot shower i felt even better my hair wasnt all frizzy anymore, my black tresses were perfectly combed and straight. I hardly recognized myself in the mirror without the bruises and cuts.

I was in deans clothes and they were a little baggy on me but i was a curvy woman so it wasnt to bad. I walked out of the bathroom but had no idea where to go. The only place i actually knew was deans bedroom.

I walked down the hallway and passed more doors. They were all closed so i didnt dare to open them. After all this wasnt my house, i had no business snooping. I heard sam and dean talking on down the hall so i followed their voices.

I turned the corner into a big library of some sort. Sam sat at the table reading from a book dean sat in a arm chair across from him eating a sandwhich. He smiled at me and i couldnt help but giggle at his cheeks stuffed full with food. He was so cute.

"There she is. Feel better?" He said around the food in his mouth.

"Very much, thank you. Both of you." I said looking down. "I dont really know what to do around here. Ill try to be helpful while im here. I promise i will find a place soon and be out of your hair."

Sam looked up with a furrowed brow. "No one said you have to leave. Youre more than welcome here."

I nodded and smiled shyly at sam. He went back to whatever he was doing as i paced back and forth.

Dean walked up to me and grabbed my hands. "Hey, dont feel out of place here. If youre hungry get you something to eat. If youre bored sammy has plenty of books and we have netflix. I want you to make yourself at home."

Dean was tracing circles on my hand with his thumb, my breathing hitched and i could feel, something between us. Dean seemed to notice and let go of my hands.

"Sam, you got anything on where these demons are?" Dean asked sam.

Sam shrugged, "not a hundred percent sure at the moment. Parker is for sure the leader though. It seems like its a recruitment thing. Bobbys looking into it for us."

Dean throws his hands up, "now what?"

"We wait." Sam said impatiently.

FLASHBACK TO 2015

Y/n’s POV

After I graduated, I ended up moving to California to pursue my voice acting career. But as it turns out, it's much harder than it seems. Not a lot of opportunities pops up right away for an inexperienced voice actress. So I ended up working in a rocker clothing store down the street from my apartment. It actually pays really well and my coworkers are nice as well as my boss.

Today is one of those rare days where it's really fucking slow. There has been no more than five customers all day. That is until four new customers walked in. Three boys and one girl, (looking really no older than me) all laughing and making jokes while walking around, checking out the items. I didn't mind them being kind of loud, it was a nice refresher from the constant heavy metal they play on the radio here. I love rock and roll as much as a coke head loves drugs, but when you listen to the music constantly every day it's nice to take a break.

The female, somewhat shorter than all the boys with long dark purple hair and having a rocking attitude, came up to me. “I love your style! Do you get a discount on all the dope stuff here?” Her voice was a little rough, like she just got over a cold, but still sounded like silk when she spoke. “Dude, rad hair! Is blue your favorite color too?” The tallest boy with long dreadlocks and somewhat smudged eyeliner, wearing a lot of spikes and leather all around his body. He commented on my dark blue hair I just dyed a few days ago. It was nice refresher from my usual h/c.

All four of them looked at my style in awe with wide eyes. “We’re in a band, how would you like to come see how we sound? I'm Tyler, I play the drums.” Tyler points to the tall boy with dreads. “That's Jason. He's lead guitar.” Dreads, who I now know as Jason, walks up to me and shakes my hand. “And then this is Maxwell, the bass guitarist. But we all like to call him Blade.” My curiosity peeked up. “Why do you guys call him Blade?” Blade comes up to me and shows me his switchblade, perfectly sharpened and shiny. It looks like you could cut yourself just by looking at it for too long. “I carry this with me at all times. Never know what kind of crazy people are doing now-a-days.” He explains to me. Finally, the girl speaks up to me. “I'm Claudia. I'm the girl who does all the screamo in the band because I can't sing for shit.” She says with a cute smile on her face. None of them look any older than me, but I guess no one can really be sure.

“I'd love to check you guys out. What's the name of your band?” Tyler perks up, “It's called Toxic Nightmare! We made it when we were all in high school. We've been struggling to really get our music out there, and we have a pretty decent big fan-base, but we always wanna do better. So it would mean a lot to us if you gave us your opinion?” I nodded with a smile. “I'm down! My shift ends in about 20 minutes, would you guys be willing to wait until then and I can tell you guys then?” They all nodded in agreement. Little did I know, that would be the day when my life got way better.

BACK TO PRESENT 2018

That same day, we all went to their rehearsal area so I could hear them play. Although I did like the way Claudia sounded since she put so much passion and emotions into her screaming, I thought it could use some actual singing. Sadly none of them knew anyone who knew how to sing, so Claudia had the idea to have me try and sing. Turns out, my singing voice with her screaming sounds really awesome. Next thing I knew, I was officially part of Toxic Nightmare as the new lead singer. All of us have grown insanely close. I really consider Tyler, Jason, Blade, and Claudia as my family.

Since i've joined TN, we've really blown up in terms of getting our music out there in the world. It feels like so long since I've met them, as if I've been with them my entire life. My mom and step dad enjoy my music, which is insane considering they're devoted Christians. Jacob, now that he's older says him and his friends listen to our music as well.

I hear my phone ringing, my mother's specific ringtone I put for her a year ago. Her favorite song she dedicated to me when I was 7.

"Helloooo?" I hear movement, and then my mother's voice through the microphone. "Y/n!! How are you, my daughter? What time is your flight?" I smile to myself, thinking how I can't wait to spend the holidays with my family. Well, the ones that care about me anyway. My biological fathers side of the family disowned me after they found out what I do for a living now. And most of my mom's side of the family doesn't really talk to me as much anymore. "I'll be there by tomorrow at 8:00 in the morning." I fill her in on all that's happened this week. We have a new tour coming up in 2019, all around America. We also made sure that our last stop in the tour is in New Jersey, so my brother can come to our concert since itd be close to his birthday. "Oh! Y/n, Debra and Avi are going to spend the holidays with us! Daniel is coming here as well. Have you talked to him at all?"

I shake my head, somewhat forgetting she can't see me. "In all honesty, mom, no. I've tried to contact him a lot, but his number changed and I really don't want to go asking Avi and Debbie his number. I feel like that's kinda creepy." She takes a bite out of her food before answering. "Well at least you'll see him soon, you can catch up with him then," I hear yelling and movement in the background. "Okay hun, your brother and his girlfriend is here, I'll talk to you soon! Much love to the others."

She hangs up the phone and I sit there for a few more minutes. Dan's gonna be there. I'll get to see him after all these years. The last time I saw him was so long ago, I think about three years on the fourth of July. We talked for a bit, his girlfriend at the time took a dislike to me the minute she saw me, so I didn't have much time to talk to him. I know he's finally living the dream he's always had, and I'm more than proud of what he's doing. I listen to music during the times when I have a breather, which is pretty rare since I'm part of TN. Now that I think really hard about Dan, I remember how much I liked him when I was younger. All those years ago having this huge crush on his lanky, dorky self. Before my mind can go any farther, I force myself to go finish packing everything I need to go for the next two weeks. I hope and pray everything goes well, Im excited to see Avi and Debbie, and Dana, and Dan.. focus, y/n. You'll have time to daydream on the plane.

DAN

"I appreciate you picking my up from the airport, Mrs y/l/n. I thought it'd be a nice surprise to my parents for the holidays." She shakes her hand at me with a smile on her face. "I don't mind, son. You know I consider you part of the family. I have to pick up y/n at the airport tomorrow morning too." My head shoots up at the mention of her name. "Y/n's coming?" She raises an eyebrow and gives a small smirk. "Well yes. She took some time off to come here. Her last time off before her big tour coming up. She's been working so hard, I'm glad she's taking a break. Especially with us." I nod my head, slowly zoning out and daydreaming about seeing her again.

Before I know it, we're home. I thank Mrs y l n once again and give her hug before making my way back to my house, which is still across the street.

TOMORROW MORNING

I wake up at 7, which is insanely early for me. Mrs y l n should be leaving to pick y n up soon. I can't stress how proud I am of her. Toxic Nightmare is one of my favorite bands. I even showed Arin and Brian some of there songs. Y n's voice is like heaven, and her band mates are all super talented. Everytime I have a chance I listen to their songs, watch their music videos, I've even seen some interviews they've done. (Only real true fans know that her and I were really close back in the day.) She's grown into a beautiful woman, amazing voice, beautiful body, a hard-working mindset. In all honesty I've grown to be a fanboy for her. She's funny, too. She's been featured in several YouTubers videos and she's made me laugh each time. Arin likes to tease me about my little crush on her. But trust me, I can't be blamed. She's practically my dream woman.

I've zoned out so much, I didn't realize Mrs y l n getting in her car and driving away. She's told me she sees me and y n getting together. I mean, I wouldn't mind that. These two weeks are gonna be a hell of a ride...

Healing Arrow “The Last Samurai” AU

(under the cut ‘cause there’s spoilers for the movie & it’s just long af)

- Angela is a Switzerland-immigrated, American doctor traveling to Japan with her fiancé, and one such soldier, Jack Morrison, on business in the late 1800s, right near the end of the age of samurai

- She is the field doctor for the soldiers who were responsible for killing the Native Americans on their own land, and every night she replays those memories with the biggest shame

- She is tasked with being the head of the medical team for the soldiers who are sent to Japan on negotiation terms with the U.S., including Jack

- A group of samurai kill many not-properly-trained Japanese soldiers fighting for the U.S., as well as American soldiers. Jack is also killed - much to Angela’s horror and dismay - by a samurai in full-body armor covering his face. They take Angela, having heard of her medical prowess and wanting to gain information from her both on what the exact extent of her healing capabilities are, as well as what the Americans plan to do in Japan as a whole, especially in regards to the samurai

- The leader of the group is Hanzo Shimada, first-born son and heir to the Shimada clan in the mountains. His younger brother Genji is his second-in-command. What they don’t know is that the elders of the clan are in secret business affairs with the United States to come with some sort of agreement; a treaty, in hopes of benefiting them both in rank and in material objects

- At first, Angela refuses to speak. Given that she's a woman, they use less intimidation and torture tactics than they normally would, but feel she pushes her luck with her scathing remarks in both English and German (having not learned a lick of Japanese) given that she's American

- As time passes though, the clan - especially Hanzo - become aware of her terrible guilt in her past actions (aiding those who killed innocent people), through all the tossing and turning, and occasional sobs and yelling as she replays every horrendous occasion of murder and bloodshed she’d witnessed in her dreams

- Hanzo approaches her alone, and they become acquaintances. Fall turns into winter, and Angela gradually picks up Japanese despite being the outcast of the clan. Hanzo had initially forbidden anyone from even looking in her direction, let alone touching her in any way

- Angela is given Japanese clothes because her original ones become so dirty, and she has to remember to keep her shoes off indoors. (A strange custom, in her opinion)

Dating in the Church (Part 1)

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33 NKJV).

“You have been raised to life with Christ. Now set your heart on what is in heaven, where Christ rules at God’s right side. Think about what is up there, not about what is here on earth. You died, which means that your life is hidden with Christ, who sits beside God. Christ gives meaning to your life, and when He appears, you will also appear with Him in glory” (Colossians 3:1-4 CEV).

Happy Valentine’s Day to all those who’re celebrating! If you’re familiar with my writing, you know that I don’t take the typical approach — basically, the worldly viewpoint — regarding love, dating and celibacy because I’m committed to using my spiritual gift to serve God and His people. That said, be sure to read my previous posts about love and dating if you haven’t already: On Marrying the Wrong Person and On Love, Loyalty & Less Than God’s Best.

This series was inspired by a retweet that came across my timeline, which attempted to address why dating in the church is difficult. First, understand that there’s no biblical position on dating — at least not in the formal sense. There’s no particular scripture or passage that addresses how single believers should date. However, there are godly principles in scripture that can be applied to dating. It’s natural to want companionship, but many believers overlook the necessity and blessing of being single. This is the time to give God your undivided attention and allow Him to mature you in your faith and in your spiritual gifts. Y’all know I’m longwinded — I could write a book on this subject (in fact, I am)! Pull out your Bibles, as I’m going to assume that you’re familiar with the scriptures referenced. The first point listed was:

“We keep promoting this misnomer that marriage is more spiritual than natural.”

Uh, since when?

My first thought reading this was, why would any church, which is a spiritual institution, ever downplay the spiritual aspect of marriage? To do so would imply that God isn’t needed for or within a marriage, which is essentially a carnal standpoint. And perhaps that is the problem. Taking on this “natural” approach has led to many believers choosing the wrong spouse or getting married to simply appease their physical (as in sexual) and/or financial needs. God also never intended for us to desire marriage more than we desire Him.

I’m not negating the natural component of marriage. I’m negating that a church should promote marriage as more natural than spiritual, and counsel believers under this notion. To do so isn’t biblically sound. In fact, it’s counterintuitive to the ministry of marriage. (Yes, marriage is a ministry and I’ll explain why later on). Due to the laws that now govern our society, marriage has become a business transaction because Uncle Sam wants his cut in the same manner as if we were to start a business or purchase real estate. That is why when a government institution performs a “marriage ceremony” in accordance with the laws of its jurisdiction, it is known as a civil marriage or a civil union. Many secular marriage proponents believe that it’s not a spiritual or religious institution at all. For them, marriage should be attainable by any person(s) who wish to apply for a marriage license regardless of spiritual affiliation and compatibility.

For this reason, it’s important to note that there’s marriage and then there’s marriage God’s way. If your desire is for a godly spouse or marriage, then you must understand and adhere to God’s principles regardless of what society is doing. A church that promotes marriage as a natural institution is promoting idolatry. Why? Christ is removed as the center or focal point and replaced with worldly rules and expectations. As Christians, our relationship with the Creator is the crux of our faith and should govern everything that we do, including how we date and who we marry. For believers, it doesn’t make sense that our spiritual component is the core of our lives (and human experience), but not the basis of how we learn marriage inside of the church. I’m not saying that unbelievers shouldn’t marry because it’s a vital aspect of human society. I’m also not saying that only Christian marriages are successful. I’m saying that as believers, we can’t fully experience marriage the way God intended unless He is the foundation and inspiration on which it stands. If we start to condone or accept the world’s ways, which contradict God’s truth, then we risk applying a distorted standard to how God wants us to live.

Furthermore, Colossians 3:1-4 reminds us that the basis of our faith is the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It connects us to Christ as our foundation by guiding us with a basic ethical response to living in modern times. Set your mind on Christ! We are living in times where people profess faith in God, yet promote ideologies that are against His word. God is not the one confused. His word was, is and will always be true. Any church that proclaims to be the body of Christ should know not to conform to the expectations of society. God doesn’t lower Himself to meet the desires of man. Instead, we rise up to the standard that Christ set for us. When people state that churches aren’t effective because they’re “out of touch,” the solution isn’t to water down the message so that it’s easier for the masses to swallow it. The solution is to cultivate an environment that promotes real discipleship, healing and deliverance that is also built on sound truth! We don’t have a dating problem in the church, we have a discipleship problem. (Tweet This!) Before the church can minister to your dating needs and grow you into somebody’s spouse, you first need to master being a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Before we can address dating in the church or “godly dating,” we must first understand why we’re dating in the first place. That is, what is the end goal? For most, marriage is the end goal. That is why it’s important to understand God’s purpose for marriage. For starters, God established the blueprint for marriage as a {spiritual} covenant (contract or agreement) between God, man and woman in Genesis 2:24. There were no courthouses or marriage licenses in the Garden of Eden. In fact, Genesis 2 outlines God’s design for marriage, as well as the governing principles that we should apply to it:

(1) God designed marriage as a covenant. Like most things, in order to understand how something works, the best source to ask is the One who created it! The foundation of a godly marriage involves daily communication with God. If praying and reading scripture isn’t a part of your daily life during the dating phase, chances are you will have cracks in your spiritual foundation that will impact your marriage. (2) God designed marriage to meet our need for companionship. Eve was created as a companion or “helper” because after naming all the animals, Adam wondered why there was no suitable companion for him (Genesis 2:18-20). Also note that God first gave Adam a purpose and a responsibility, and then gave him a wife to support his needs. In. That. Order. (3) God designed marriage as a depiction of our relationship with Him. Simply put, marriage is a ministry. Although He is pleased with sexual harmony between a husband and wife, that’s not why God designed marriage; He created it as a testimony for Him. If you’ve never witnessed a godly marriage, this might be hard for you to comprehend. Witnessing a union between a husband and wife who’re under the submission of Christ is the epitome of what it means to know God and know Him intimately. God created us for purposes that are larger than ourselves to serve Him and His people. In the same manner, He created marriage to illustrate the spiritual relationship between Christ (the bridegroom) and the church (His bride). Just as a husband and wife join as one flesh, we also join as one spirit with the Lord (1 Corinthians 6:18). Just as the church yields to the authority of Christ, the wife yields to the authority of the husband who’s also submitted to Christ. And a husband is to love his wife in the same manner that Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5: 21-25). Finally, just as a husband and wife produce offspring, believers are called to go out, multiply disciples and bring people back into the body of Christ as joint heirs.

For believers who’re married, it becomes the primary, permanent, exclusive and intimate relationship between the two people who took those vows. No person or thing comes before either spouse (Matthew 19:6). It takes a lifetime to understand this level of commitment, which is why marriage isn’t required for everyone (1 Corinthians 7:7-9). Marriage isn’t a requirement for heaven or salvation. But, for those who choose marriage, choose to pursue it God’s way.

If you’re a believer who’s not ready for marriage, you might be “casually dating” (not to be confused with fornicating). Casual dating is defined as any relationship where a couple is not exclusively dating each other. It doesn’t mean having sex or one-night stands. Even without sex, however, this kind of situation can bring unnecessary complications. My opinion is that casual dating isn’t inherently a bad thing if both parties clearly define their expectations and maintain boundaries, but I believe it increases the likelihood of misunderstandings and disappointment because as people evolve spiritually and emotionally, what they desire in a mate often changes. Sometimes this occurs at the other person’s expense.

Q: I think you’re misunderstanding or/and im not explaining myself right. As ive said before, Im not saying they dont have any flaws. And im also not saying that writers should not write and/or use their flaws. And i’m not really trying to come to an agreement or anything so it’s okay because we both have different opinions. What i’m trying to make you.. see? Think about? Is that their criticism was not morally correct as analyses like theirs were not necessary to write a fic. Im not saying no analysis is good. Of course if you write a story where you try to stay true to the person, you have to know their mannerism etc. so saying jungkook’s hand tattoos shows his “flawed personality” aka impulsive, bad taste???, and what not is not just a “oh because i have to write a story” (imo). I feel like other content creators are making this something else than it was (maybe the people who sent death threats etc. were too) but i just want to let you know that, no, i think every logical person who did not like their tweet was not disliking it because they (also me) think bts dont have flaws and are perfect or writers shouldnt use their personalities. And i saw other tweets saying smth like “bts are something made from their company and it’s unhealthy to think otherwise” or something like that. And even though that might be true and they dont show us their real selves.... how can someone make assumptions/analyses about them then? so im gonna start writing on here again

at the moment im having the most fucked up time of my life with a family member.. so if the post is confusing, sorry!

- love is simple :

love, coming from ANYBODY is a very simple thing/act/feeling if done and felt in the right way. love is to completely and fully accept and understand someone as they are without letting your judgement of who they are get in the way of how you treat them and care for them. approving of the person in front of you isnt a necessity, though many people feel that it is. accepting them, understanding them, and approving of them are all 3 separate things. the difference between accepting them and approving of them is that with acceptance alone you have a certain opinion about who they are but you also know you have no right to tell them who to be, should you not agree with them. understanding the person means you feel and genuinely get why they are the way they are and why they make certain decisions. AT NO POINT IN ANY OF THIS DO YOU NEED TO AGREE WITH THE PERSON, love does NOT come with automatic agreement on everything with your person. disagreements can be very very very fucking civil and loving at the same time. accepting and understanding (in combo) is what love is. approving of them is where the toxicity starts.. the only exception to approvals ill make is from your parents and only to a certain age and to a certain extent are they allowed to be involved in that way. the rest of the people claiming you need approvals from them to do anything can go to hell. demanding the person you supposedly love to abide by your set of rules to live is stupid and can damage the person beyond just giving them a headache and irritating them. ill break it down to bits for you. growing up i constantly felt the need to look up to my sister as she was older and knew better in most cases (until i got older and realized some of the shit she thought was right were actually hella wrong). looking up to her became a habit and therefore made me feel like if she told me to do something or called me out on the way i decided to handle a certain situation meant i was automatically wrong and this example alone has damaged my self steam SO BADLY that i had to spend the past year quite literally searching for the person i actually am. because making the person be who you want them to be shatters their perception of who they are and they completely lose all control of their thoughts because ( wait for it ) theyre being fucking manipulated 24 damn 7 by you! FUCK YOU IF YOU DO THIS. ive lived through that and it absolutely sucks and i genuinely wish whoever is under that type of toxic behavior gets the fuck away from soon as fuck. sometimes tho, sometimes(!!!!) SOMEEE people become this person who requires the other to be abiding by them because they are being protective and it genuinely is coming from a place of love and care. it is all very fucking confusing. this is still manipulation, except that now it is completely unintentional. you think and really believe you’re helping and in the actual reality that you have become blind to, you’re not helping anybody at all. when you love someone so deeply you really want them protected from all dangers possible.. even if your judgement is wrong on what’s actually dangerous you still feel the need to protect them because you CANNOT stand the sight of them being hurt in any way at all ever..

side note: ill just say that emotions are complicated and it takes a very strong inner peace for one to fully understand how they are truly feeling.

okay back to what i was saying…

..demanding people to be who you want them to be has become the norm in most cultures and families and it’s just really sad. think about how many personalities have been stolen and ripped away from people because they were manipulated into thinking they were wrong to be themselves. don’t pick a box and 1. expect people you meet to fit in it, and 2. treat the ones who don’t fit in your dumb box like absolute shit. if you do this too, fuck you again :). and the way i think this can be explained to people who are actually this way is ::: so imagine if every person had a box and expected people to be that way right and treated the ones who didn’t fit in there like shit instead of just distancing themselves from them (if it’s so fucking important for you to be this selective on stuff like this), then you wouldnt fit in someone else’s box and are treated like garbage. so you know my question here is “Why the fuck do that to yourself and others instead of being nice and understanding towards stuff?” if you’re so selfish that stuff has to affect you personally for you to finally be able to comprehend it then what i just said is DEFINITELY for you.

going back to what i said up there about boxes, i think it’s great to be selective in who you let in your life and trust and love, but not when it’s taken way the fuck out of proportion. and absolutely not when you start to make people apply your stupid box in their life when they dont live the same lifestyle as you. ive been selective of who i allow in my life for a while now. its called self respect. its called knowing how much youre worth and not accepting any less. and ive only applied this to toxic people. i do not give a single fuck where you are from, or any other dumb criteria like that that most people use in their checklist. basically, i dont care about the things you cannot physically or in any other way change about yourself. nobody gets to choose their families, their gender, their race, their place of birth or where they were raised. but the other shit like having a crappy attitude about stuff and just being a crappy person, yea you can fuck off. because you actually change all that with a few decisions and some research to open your eyes to different stuff. having a box is only okay as long as you still are able to get along with others as well, you just choose to get close and share your life with a select few and thats perfectly fine.

this part is to the person who might someday read this, might not, dont really care either way ::: the tears that i have cried because of how you treated me this year and all the tears that i will continue to cry because im nothing like you will someday haunt you down.. and i fucking hope youre ready for it. im starting to think you like seeing me suffer and it hurts in more ways than one.. saddest part is i know at some point during all this you hurt too because you knew you were gonna lose me, but the same way youre staying your grounds, i will too. just dont expect to be invited to my wedding. i will never forget and/or forgive you for screaming “fuck you” to my face after finding out about the most terrifying thing that’s ever happened to me.

First Dates II

here’s part 2!! it’s mostly filler the good stuff will come later i promise, the story just has to develop some more!

“You’re Troian, right? I’m Johnny.”

It took a moment for you to register what he said as you furrowed your eyebrows thinking about what caused him to call you Troian, forgetting that you were supposed to be pretending that you were her. After a momentary pause it dawned on you that you should probably take a seat instead of staring at him oddly.

“Uh, yeah…” you smiled awkwardly and sat down in front of him. The awkwardness was filling the entire cafe by the second, and it got to the point where he was practically staring into his glass of water as if there was something in there. You cleared your throat slightly and took a sip of the water beside you and thought of what you could say to start conversation. Before you could open your mouth to say something though he ran both of his hands through his hair and down his face before flashing a bright smile at you as if he understood how uncomfortable you were.

“So, are you familiar with this cafe? Or should i say this area?” He asked. You hummed while thinking about the answer for a moment and you shrugged, coming up with your answer.

“Yeah, actually I’m slightly familiar, i was born and raised in New York but i came here for college so it’s been like a year or so but i’ve gotten comfortable quickly.” You answered confidently. You hoped that you weren’t too much of a bore since he wasn’t as bad at you expected. Yes he wasn’t very talkative, but it could have been much worse than just that. You remembered the different potential types of men you thought you’d meet tonight and the thought caused you to let out a small laugh, shaking your head and you found yourself distracted again. You looked at Johnny who was confused at your sudden burst of laughter which caused you to laugh even harder before taking a sip of your water and starting to explain the cause of your laughter.

“When i was getting ready tonight, i honestly thought you were going to be some 80 year old, sweaty, perverted bald guy i was terrified. But now, i looked at you and just thought about what it would be like if you were actually like that and i found the idea to be quite...comedic.” Johnny found himself smiling at your explanation, in fact he even allowed himself to let out a small chuckle of amusement.

“Well how do you know? Am i even Johnny? Or am i someone that the real Johnny sent to lure you in? Maybe i really am an 80 year old sweaty perverted bald guy, what if your sight is bad? The possibilities are endless.”

“Well isn’t that intriguing. Johnny, the man of many mysteries.”

“That’s me.” He watched you take another sip of your water and he stood up a bit after. “Do you want something substantial to drink? Or a pastry?” Before you could think up an answer there was a loud growling sound followed by the instant reddening of his face. You smiled widely and shook your head at his offer knowing that there was a much better solution to the situation at hand. All they had at the cafe was small pastries and coffee which wasn’t exactly the best option for a late night date, but you couldn’t blame the guy for trying.

“Maybe we should go get something more filling? How does ramen sound?”

“Yes that sounds way better than my idea, it’s almost like you read my mind...or my stomach.” You both laughed at his comment, and you stood up carefully. “I know this really good restaurant but its like 20 minutes to half an hour away, i have a car though...if you’re okay with riding with me of course.”

“Yeah of course i dont have an issue with it at all.” The two of you made your way out of the cafe and you began making small talk about irrelevant things but the feeling of comfortability made you feel better than you have in a while. The majority of the warmth came from the idea of actually going on a functional date with someone that wasn’t half bad. He made dry jokes- a ton of them, one after the other yet you still found yourself laughing along to them without a second thought as if they were the funniest thing you heard.

The walk to his car was a generous walk away and he frequently paused the conversation to apologize for the distance, claiming that he was “too nervous and needed some fresh air so he could calm down before showing up like an idiot” to which you laughed off but silently grimaced to yourself. If anything you were the one that showed up looking like an idiot but the thought didn’t bother you too much since he was so welcoming.

“Im also sorry about not being able to talk to you immediately like i am now, im just very shy when it comes to meeting new people. I’m bad at socializing so im glad that this is now going well.” You nodded at his comment, noticing the slowness of the walk as the both of you approached his car. He picked up his pace and walked in front of you, opening the passenger door before moving to the other side.

You sat in the passenger seat and looked around, taking in the cleanliness yet slight disorganization of the car. You could tell that this was how he normally kept his car, considering the idea of him taking you anywhere in his car most likely wasn’t one of his plans or so you hoped. He started the car after you closed the door and put on your seat belt so you could look like you took precautions even though you didn’t.

“Was there something specific you wanted to listen to? Any specific taste?” He offered. He glanced over at you and you shook your head in response. You would have answered with a definite answer but you didn’t know what kind of music Troi listened to, and the last thing you wanted was to say a genre only for it to be the one that she hated.

“I listen to all types, plus it’s your car so id rather hear what stuff you like.” You smiled at yourself, hoping that was a suffice answer. He hummed in response before turning on the radio and switching it to one of his playlists that he already had.

Coldplay. You didn’t expect him to be the coldplay type of person- whatever that looked like, but if anything in your opinion he looked more of the type of person that liked alternative music? Maybe indie? And yes, you were fully aware that the group was considered to be alternative, but it still surprised you. You began laughing to yourself at the thought of how far off you were in your assumption.

“What? Not your cup of tea? I’ll have you know that you were the one that offered to listen to my type of music…”he trailed off while giving you another glance from the side of his eye. Although he was faced at the road you could still clearly see the smug look on his face, the kind of look that made you want to both laugh and wipe it off of him at the same time.

“I’m not laughing at that you idiot.” You paused. “Although, it is pretty interesting… i was laughing more at how completely wrong i was about your music taste.”

“That sounds pretty comedic to me.”

“I love your sarcasm it speaks to me perfectly.” Before you could say more you remembered the assignment that you had to do for the next day, and if it was late you wouldn’t be able to turn it in at all. A part of you really didn’t want to but you knew that your grade would suffer incredibly if you didn't go to do it which left you at an uncomfortable position.

“I know this is really inconvenient and all but, i remembered that i have a really important assignment to do tonight and it’s most of my grade and i know how stupid i sound it sounds like a lame excuse to leave but trust me that’s not the case i just-”

“It’s fine i get it grades come first.” He cut you off and pulled over to the side of the road. He leaned back in his seat and looked over at you while you were still trying to find words to say to help the situation a bit more even though it wasn’t a terrible situation in the first you couldn’t help but feel guilty for it. “Would you like for me to bring you back to your place? Or do you want me to drop you off here? It would be faster for you if i just drove you but it’s up to you.”

Without thinking about the idea that he might have known details about where Troian lived you nodded in agreement. “Yeah that’d be great, thanks for understanding.”

During the entirety of the car ride the two of you continued to make jokes after telling him the address that you lived at. A quick moment of silence came in between the jokes frequently that made the mood more comfortable. For a brief moment you cursed yourself because you knew that this would most likely be the last time that you’d see him, especially since he was under the impression that you were your friend and the likelihood of finding a way to explain the situation to him without either sounding weird or making Troi look like a bitch was almost slim to none. The car slowed down a bit and your apartment complex was to the right of you. You were home, you survived. You opened the door after unbuckling and stuck one foot out before turning back to him with an apologetic smile.

“Thank you for bringing me home.” You paused and thought about whether or not you should tell him the truth while you were still given the opportunity. “I’m really sorry that it was cut so short i was really looking forward to eating with you, you’re a really great guy Johnny.”

You got out of the car and waved goodbye after closing the door behind you. Before even waiting another second to allow yourself the possibility of telling him the full length truth you walked towards the front door, only looking back once more to see if he already left- which he hadn’t.
