Please read this!
My name is Caiden, and I've got a cat who was born May of this year. Her name is Trixie, and she originally was in my gfs parents yard along with her siblings.
As a baby, she injured her eye and it was in need of vet care. Luckily, she recovered with eye drops and was able to keep the eye at the time.
On October 1st, my other cat accidentally scratched her in her bad eye while they were playing. Trixie was taken to the vet and needed her eye removed.
The surgery and medications came out to a little over $1600 and we are struggling to pay it back.
Luckily, she is recovering beautifully but we need help. If you're able to even donate $1, it'd mean the world to me.

Funniest fucking thing is getting a sketchy "pet emergency" donation ask (this one didn't even keep the name of the pet consistent, post said Draven, ask said both Draven and Indie), starting the reverse image searches on pics of the animal in the post, then coming back to delete the ask only to find that in the five minutes MAX of reverse image searches, the blog got nuked.
Just a friendly reminder to make sure when you get asks about donation posts, you should always reverse image search the pics of the animal and see how long the blog's been around. If it hasn't been around long and the reblogs are kinda inconsistent in an inorganic way, red flag. Also, if the dono post has a deactivated OP, or the name of the pet changes throughout the ask or post, that's a BIG red flag.
If the post is sketchy, don't share it. Just delete the ask and block the blog. Scam posts take money that could have been donated to someone who actually needs it.

Help this sweet girl and her family!
Hey there, we’ve never really done this before, but im reaching out to the community on behalf of my best friend alexis. she’s been through some really tough times this past year, but despite everything she started a new career as a tattoo artist and has been working hard to save up money.
Ive known alexis for almost 12 years, she has the biggest heart and is also an animal lover. She and her family have taken in several stray cats, caring for them and providing for their needs despite not having much money.
Recently Tobi, the kitty pictured above, was diagnosed with lymphoma. Only 3 years old, she is absolutely adored by the family and this has been a hard hit. the testing and ultrasounds alone have already amounted to over $3000, and although lymphoma is treatable in cats, the treatment will likely be very expensive, and her family is struggling to find the funds.
I know it’s hard right now, but if anyone has some money to spare, it would mean a lot to me if you could help my best friend. all funds will go toward covering Tobi’s vet bills and helping Alexis get back on her feet after having her savings wiped out by these unexpected expenses. This might be an unpopular opinion but like. Some of you people are genuinely extremely mean spirited and needlessly jealous/ragey when other people have a little bit of extra money they can afford to spend on the funny blue checkmark joke or the tumblr crabs or whatever. Do you literally not hear yourself when you say "$8 for a [short term thing you'll enjoy]? Christ you're so fucking selfish for not just giving it to me" and guilt trip people for not donating to you just because you're poor
Like, speaking as someone who suffered really badly a few years ago and put out a donation post in the hopes that I could escape homelessness caused by a natural disaster, yes it very much hurts to get zero attention to your plea for help in a dire situation. It REALLY sucks when you stay trapped in that situation even longer due to the lack of funds/help you received. But like, it's literally no excuse to be a piece of shit to strangers online who are probably in a similar-but-slightly-more-secure position to you who are having a little bit of fun with something you think is kind of stupid. What part of class solidarity and "people should be able to use what little flexible/disposable income they have to make life a little easier for themselves" do you like... not get
Also donation tags and posts do not get shadowbanned, that's a lie made up by transphobes who want trans dono posts to be harder to find, so do not think for a second I don't see you people censoring "donation" that know better to avoid people with psychosis and ocd blocking it, who are VERY easily triggered by the guilt of donos and chainmail. The reason you get fewer notes on tagged posts is because you aren't capitalizing on guilt-shares, not because staff is stopping you

Nothing fuels me with more rage on Tumblr than those donation posts with censored means of payments. Like I wasn't gonna donate anyways because I can't, that's why I have those words blacklisted in the first place, but if I see that I actively despise said funding campaign. I garantee you no one will give you money just because you evaded the blacklist payment.
I put every variation I see on my blacklisted list but there always seems to be new ones and I can't just imagine them all.

when people reblog donation posts and say "donate what you can", I really feel like people aren't actually internalising it. not all of us can afford to donate $50, $100, more than that. but i know for a fact that there are thousands of us that can spare $2 or $5, and that all adds up.
it hurts so much to sit here and feel the limits of our own ability. we're not millionaires. we can't instantly fund these escape attempts. but these are bids for life, by people who never asked for the hellfire being rained upon them by sadistic colonialists, greedy for oil and land. they committed no crime other than being born in palestine. and of course it's unfair, to have to shoulder the weight of people's lives when we're all struggling to get by as it is. but our governments relentlessly fail us, they fail to scrape at the bottom of their cold dead hearts for their last dregs of humanity. it is so, so unfair, but it is up to the common man to save each other.
please. look at this spreadsheet. find a fund that resonates with you. and DONATE WHAT YOU CAN.

My partner's friend Ian is currently in Henry Ford Hospital with blastomycosis, a brutal and rare fungal infection that has overtaken his lungs. He recently was taken out of a medically-induced coma and has been undergoing treatment to clear the infection, at which point he will hopefully be able to get a lung transplant. He is an otherwise healthy 29 year old, so if the infection clears the are hopeful that he'll be approved for the transplant and make a recovery.
His family has a GoFundMe asking for assistance with medical and travel expenses, as they are traveling from northern Michigan to Detroit as often as they can to see and support him through this. If anyone has anything to spare, all of his family and friends would be hugely appreciative.
