My daughter and I send each other paintings we think each other will like. Today she sent me the little terrier sitting on the couch. On the right is our dog Scamp. They are so expressive in their eyes and face. He’s 12 now and not getting around very well. They look like twins sniff sniff 😢

My brother's first dog, Buddy, unfortunately passed away this past Thanksgiving, and I really wanted to give him a gift to remember him by. I was supposed to get it done in time for Christmas but the spirit lasts all year cut me some slack
He was a super good boy and I hope this does him justice! I bashed together a few photos of him and did some rough painting, I think it turned out well :0

Greyscale work is where I got my start in portraiture and it always feels like returning home when I get to do another. I crave the richness of those deep blacks and the white charcoal that sets it off.
I have more openings available for Christmas portraits! Send me your favorite pictures to get started. 🎁
Created with Panpastels and general's charcoal on Strathmore 500 series charcoal paper.
