✨ Zhongli Shielder Build ✨
Tumblr media
🍪 How is it possible that I have never shared my Zhongli build! 😂 He’s one of my favorite character, and he’s actually the character that got me to play Genshin in the first place.
🍪 In this post, I will break down to you my Zhongli build as a shielder.
Tumblr media
Artifacts Choice
🍪 When it comes to building Zhongli, I guess people no longer only focuses on his shield alone, but his burst as well. His burst multiplier is one of the biggest one in the game, standing at 900% at level 10. That’s why he’s often used as burst dps.
🍪 Here are some artifact sets choice you can put on him:
4 Tenacity
4 Noblesse
2 Tenacity 2 Noblesse
2 Archaic Petra 2 atk%
2 Archaic Petra 2 Noblesse
🍪 If you wanna build him as a shielder (like me), just slap hp% artifacts on him and he’s good to go. You don’t even have to think about his crit ratio because you just wanna make sure you get as much hp as you can for him for a sturdy shield. The highest my Zhongli hp can get is around 53k when he’s equipped with Black Tassel.
🍪 But if you want him to deal some damage whether with his skill or his burst, then you must think about the crit ratio. His burst doesn’t cost a lot, it’s only 40 energy which is very cheap considering he’s a 5* character. So you can spam his burst over and over again.
Tumblr media
Talents Priority
🍪 It really depends on you. Both his skill and his burst are important for me, so I’d recommend leveling them up. I crown his burst because it’s just nice to have 900% dmg at my back pocket lol.
🍪 So for me, it’s skill = burst > normal attack.
🍪 You can even choose not to level up his normal attack if you’re very limited on resources. It’s not like you’re gonna need it anyway. But since I have Vortex, my Zhongli can deal pretty good numbers physically.
Weapons Choice
🍪 Being a 5* character–and an archon at that too–it’s very surprising that a 3* weapon works for him. Here are some of his weapon choice I think would fit him best:
Black Tassel (as shielder)
Favonius Lance (high ER means Zhongli can spam his burst over and over again)
Deathmatch (crit rate)
Primordial Jade Winged Spear (crit rate)
Staff of Homa (crit damage, as well as extra 20% hp from Homa’s passive)
🍪 His atk number is really low from having a triple hp% build, so having Vortex on him really helps with his damage, especially when the passive is fully activated. The best I can go with his burst damage is around 78k in spiral abyss, and most of the time he crits around that number, thankfully!

For example, you can disable ‘Movies’ and Pocket Spotlight will skip all video files. Open the ‘search results’ tab here and disable all options in the column that spotlight should not search for. To narrow the option, navigate to  ▸ System Preferences ▸ Spotlight. Older Macs in particular suffer from a slow spotlight and the method below may work. This means that you can disable certain search options to make Spotlight work faster. You can easily fix this by limiting Spotlight more or less. When searching, it may take some time for Spotlight to display the correct search results. Spotlight is very slow for some users and this obviously comes at the expense of the usability of this feature. Spotlight may have been updated extremely well and conveniently, but there are some drawbacks to this version.

The full dragons breath strat for Saoirse. Now that it's out of the bag. Is bonus action twinned spell Dragon's Breath on yourself and your familiar (in my case a cute little bearded dragon/pseudodragon). And then you and your familiar pseudo-flank to set up overlapping cones and go to town. Action, familiar action, action surge for three breaths for a total of 9d6 lightning on my first turn. And then 6d6 on each subsequent turn.
The tools you need for this are:
At least 2 levels fighter
3 levels warlock
3 levels sorc (or in my case, metamagic Adept) for twin spell
And then Pact of the Chain ideally for superior familiar options.
This strat is ideal for fighting groups of enemies in a longer fight, especially ones with poor or avg. dex saves.
If you've ever seen me recommending multiclassing your casters, and your first response has been, "but I don't get my big spells as soon!" think of it this way. This build is way more versatile and hardy than a lvl 5 sorc or warlock, and while one of those classes could dump a Fireball like. Once. With this strat you can essentially be casting Fireball every single round for an entire fight, give or take. It's a clever way to make up for one of the few "shortcomings" of multiclassing. Additionally, you can upcast this and the dmg stays relevant for quite a while.
Just be careful to have some ability in your pocket to protect your familiar - they'll be sure to become a temporary target if you use this.
Now, go forth and have fun! Blast away!

Heyo Pocket! It's been a bit since I popped in to say hi and exposit about my genshin account, so here I am! Hi! How's it going? A few updates today! Got albedo last patch early and then a Jean after early as well, so I just pulled shenhe! Initially I was going to skip cause I needed another DPS and I don't run cryo characters, but I ended up just building my Kequing better, so that fixed that problem!
I actually bought Kequing's outfit too! In honor of that, I 90'd her and got her auto up to 9! Her stats are doing really well too, if I remember correctly it's 60 or 70 crit rate to 155 crit dmg! She's running shimenawa and aquila favonia (80/80 cause I keep forgetting to farm for it) as well, phys dmg cup. She does about 13k per charged attack, which is great!
The new boss that Shenhe uses mats from isn't too difficult for me either (*laughs in hu tao*) it's much better than the thunder manifestation (electro oceanid).
And that's all for current account updates! Hopefully your year has had a great start and that the rest of it is awesome! Don't forget to get some rest, eat some food, and drink some water!
- resolve, who's happy to be back! ✧*。♡
ooh well congrats on your shenhe, albedo, and keqing!! that sounds great! i was thinking about leveling my keqing too (her outfit is so pretty) BUT i decided i was just gonna stick with itto
i want shenhe but i also dont wanna level any more characters sooo i just skipped her. i dont really have a good cryo anyway (i will build rosaria one day) but for now it's just miss qiqi
but it's great to see you again! hope you're doing well <3

We continue our liberation of Perfection from Precambrian life-forms and send the last of the villagers to safety with Edea.
Alt Title - Tremors 8: The D&D AU Part 2
@gher-bear @aradow @telurin @epimetala
Tumblr media
On this day, we slaughter all the visible shriekers. Rana summons a dirt devil and she and Edea beat the bad guys together with the power of wind. Shrieker squad B tries out for the cheer team, but when their pyramid spectacle takes a tumble the in-fighting starts. Always knew Purple was a back-biting bitch. Literally. The Silver Scale Pack ultimately win the day because, news flash, Shriekers, this is a desert, not cheer camp! Unfortunately, we’ve now got two worms headed our way, attracted by all the noise. Will we be able to wait them out for a short rest? No checking that box yet! Ah well, at least Edea was able to windwalk the last three villagers, along with Pebbles, to mountain safety.  It’ll be up to the Silver Scale Pack to clear out the rest of these mother humpers in session 33. Come on fam, let’s bring this town back to perfection (all puns and references intended)!
(Read More Marker)
We get a surprise round on the 3 in front of us - Tarma-Diem deals 5dmg eldritch blast to yellow one.
It knew that came from up and screams at us. Tarma-Diem is deafened for one minute. Everyone else saves and is now immune.
Ixayl’anu breath weapons them, 1 saves, 2 don’t (5 and 11dmg)
They go hide under the awning between our building and the next, halfway to their 7 friends on the other side.
Edea casts stone skin on Ixayl’anu - resistance to nonmagical dmg - concentration up to an hour.
Phi listens close and shoots through tarp but misses.
Ixayl’anu rips a good portion of the cloth and can see where these creatures are running through.
She then jumps down between 2 poles and 2 shriekers, she gets kinda stuck though, flails with her weapon while trying to recover her landing, misses the one in front of her.
Red shrieker from group B has seen yellow, but none of group B see us.
Rana casts dust devil L3 in the middle of group B.
Red takes 14, next saves, takes 5dmg, neutral fails 11dmg, green saves 5dmg, pink crit fails gets thrown into wall 14dmg, purple 14dmg , slammed against another wall, orange 14dmg.
Rana reaches out and touches Phi’s boot (from where Phi is standing on the slightly higher platform of the roof) and gives her guidance.
Tarma-Diem shouts “Dust devil!” as a heads up (still can’t hear), but also knows Ixayl’anu is now on the ground alone so they shoot eb at one of hers - 3 dmg. It screams at them, they scream back.
One bites Ixayl’anu for 5dmg.
Yellow runs in to scream at the others, saves from dd, takes 6 dmg. The others turn toward it, and scream back at not full volume, chatter amongst themselves.
On their turn they start forming a cheerleader pyramid to get at those of us on the roof.
Mr. Yellow gets up top. Pink climbs up to go next.
Dust devil winds hit all but yellow: Bottom left saves (3 dmg), bottom middle crit fails, takes 7dmg, bottom right saves (3dmg), pink fails (takes 7dmg), green saves (3dmg).
Acrobatics checks: Orange fails, neutral saves, pink fails too. Neutral manages to hop onto purple out of range.
Edea casts wind wall along where the pyramid was.
Red rolls well and is safe, next big guy takes full damage, purple fails, little one on top of him fails. Wall comes 2 ft higher than basic roof, phi can shoot over this fine since it doesn’t quite come up to her higher point.
Phi shoots and misses, she does a perception check with her bonus action and rolls a 1.
Ixayl’anu attacks red-green 5dmg, 5dmg.
Rana moves dust devil into the pile, kicks up debris as a result, but windwall protects us from it. That was her bonus action. She tries to crack yellow across the face with shilllylala 3dmg.
Ixayl’anu has an aura up +2 saves for anyone within it + resistance to dmg from magic effects.
Tarma-Diem eldritch blasts the one on the roof for 23dmg.
Yellow bites them back for 7dmg.
Tarma-Diem: *growls in pain, turns that into growling* “You think that hurts mother fucker, try this!” *casts hellish rebuke and does 38 more dmg, killing it*.
The rest of the creatures are very confused about all this wind and debris and roll poorly to figure it out, one bites at the other (orange and pink forgot who did what to whom), red tries to move away. One of them tries to jump up over the windwall (neutral), purple is standing on blue trying to figure out the windwall. Green is aimless and moves toward the right wall. Neutral runs up the stairs and tries to bite Phi, does 6dmg.
Red takes 3dmg from the next dust devil round - orange 3dmg, pink 3dmg, green 3dmg, blue 6dmg, purple makes its acrobatics check, manages to stay up, reaches down and bites blue, purple also fails and takes 6dmg and deals some dmg to blue, but manages to stay up.
Edea smacks the one on phi with a stick, casts shelala
It shrieks and lets go of Phi.
Phi pulls out her daggers to stab the one on her. 14dmg total, disengage with bonus action.
Ixayl’anu attacks red-green and hits for 10dmg. She tries to run to face the whole group and the 2 from before. Red-blue hits her for 3dmg. Ixayl’anu then sees the windwall and decides to stay where she is.
Rana sees Ixayl’anu break out of the pack and tosses 7 healing at Ixayl’anu. Uses one of 3 charges on mantle of healing for 22 more points - total healing of 29. Rana moves the dust devil, trusting Tarma-Diem to take care of the shrieker in front of her.
Tarma-Diem misses with both eldritch blasts though, runs forward to slap it with shocking grasp and it does nothing but startle the guy, crackling over its thick hide. As it runs farther up the stairs to Phi’s former platform, Tarma-Diem rushes back to the other corner of the roof in the opposite direction. 1/7 charges used.
This arm wound man is fucking up theim aim, man lol
Little one recovers from shocking grasp incident, turns toward us, leaps off roof and onto rana - leaping bite attack misses, still manages to knock her over though, so on the ground ineffectually with each other.
Orange manages to see Ixayl’anu and gives a little scream as it heads toward her, but the others are busy and ignoring it. They’re all kinda mad at each other, anyway. Orange does 6dmg. Green tries to acrobatic its way up ones near the wall to get up it, it makes it. Attacks Tarma-Diem, but they side step out of the way.
Purple has blue by the neck still holding on. Pink tries to attack the dust devil, biting at the dusty air (He tried lol). Pink saves (7dmg), purple saves (7dmg), blue fails (15 dmg), purple finally fails acrobatic check in staying on blue as blue gets thrown into windwall so blue takes extra dmg - looks on death’s door.
Edea crit smacks the one on Rana, looks like it’s on death’s door too.
Phi stabs at green, hits with one for 20dmg. Then disengages to higher rooftop.
Ixayl’anu casts moonbeam on orange, red, purple, and blue.
Rana reaches into her pocket, grabs 3 stones, chucks magic stone right into its mouth (attack misses technically), but it just eats it (spicy meatball!). She tries to shalala next - 3dmg, shoves it off, uses her motion to get up. It is dead.
Tarma-Diem hits green with shocking grasp, but only makes it run away like before, no actual damage. They hit it in the ass on the way out though with two bolts of eldritch blast for 12dmg total.
Moonbeam dmg time: Red takes 12dmg, purple 6dmg, orange 12dmg, blue just dies, green 6dmg (to be fair I didn’t note what did this damage live, could’ve been dust devil but I’m pretty sure this is when most of them got out of range of that - also no notes about getting thrown around).
Green tries to bite Phi, 6dmg.
Every other shrieker heads toward Ixayl’anu, who starts cackling. Orange hits for 4dmg, purple hits for 4dmg, red-blue does 5dmg, red-green finally hits her for 6dmg.
Edea casts healing word on Ixayl’anu for 12 pts.
Phi stabs at green still attached to her leg, hits with sneak attack does 20dmg (which is absolutely hilarious in hind sight like who the hell hit green, man? Surely not the person its attached to, that blow came out of nowhere!). She gorily kills it, hematoma swells up because no open wound daggers, it coughs up blood though on her boot. Phi moves to left edge of building and acrobatics checks to other roof and easily makes it. Uses her bonus action to perception check 22. She sees and hears the very faint - half orc woman and human dude tootin and hollerin and cheering us on, Lee is looking concerned for us but also looking very excited. In the distance Phi sees some dust clouds, several hundred yards away - 2 dust clouds, past the npc’s/from that direction.
Phi yells about the dust clouds in the distance to the rest of us (Tarma-Diem still can’t hear)
Rana looks sees something that could be dust, could be haze.
Ixayl’anu slams into red-green for 12dmg. Misses next blow.
Edea drops windwall.
Rana thorn whips pink, slamming it into the side of the building 12 dmg total (+ some from slamming into wall).
Diem hops down on the ground and does 24 lightning bolt damage: red-blue 12 dmg, orange 24dmg (near death), red 12 dmg, purple 12 dmg, pink 24dmg (very near death). Ring is out of charges ‘til sunrise.
Moonbeam deals: 14dmg - purple 7dmg, red 7, pink 14 and dies, orange 14 and dies.
Redgreen and redblue ran at Tarma-Diem, redblue hit for 9dmg, after which Tarma-Diem misty escapes to the unoccupied rooftop behind them all (invisible): “Wait...I can hear now!” Red-green and red-blue forfeit the rest of their attacks, confused and snapping at the empty air where Tarma-Diem used to be.
Red goes after Ixie and misses. Purple takes 5dmg from winds.
Edea healing words Ixayl’anu for 8 healing. Edea doesn’t want to jump down though for the rest of the fight so passes on the rest of her turn.
Phi shoots purple for 21 damage, it dies.
Ixayl’anu swings at red for 9dmg, barely standing, 2nd hit 15dmg. Hacks him down, leaps over him and gets in range of the other 2. And gets bonus hp from the kill.
Rana perception checks on dust cloud, but still only sees general haze. She leaves dust devil up for being a good boy and moves to edge of roof, drops magic stone on red-blue, but misses. She backs up and thorn whips red-green 11dmg, 2 wall damage. 13 total. He is hanging just off the lip.
Tarma-Diem hits dangling one for 8 eldritch blast damage just before it falls - Tarma-Diem loses invisibility and growls out: “I really hope nobody said anything important because I was deaf for this entire fight.”
Phi: Why?
Red-green falls
Last two run after Ixayl’anu, deal 4 and 3 dmg - 7 total from both.
Edea tries to perceive off into the distance where Phi pointed.
Phi perceives again to see if it’s moved closer and gets 27, yep: “Worms headed our way, so we might wanna be quiet, I guess?”
The tremors cast looks in that direction but don’t see anything. Lee and Earl do hear the incoming though, Val doesn’t really have a clue.
Phi kills red-green with 20dmg.
Ixayl’anu attacks red-blue, misses, misses again.
Rana thorn whips red-blue for 13dmg. Bonus action magic stone for 7dmg. Perception 22 toward dust, it is much closer.
Tarma-Diem is apparently so distracted/nervous about more on the way, only cantrips left, everyone’s spells running low, and too hard to hit around Ixayl’anu below that they miss both of their next eldritch blasts and only get a 12 on perception to boot - don’t see anything.
Last shrieker tries to book it, Ixayl’anu misses her attack of opportunity. It gets pretty far out of town before Phi shoots it after an insight check to get sneak attack - nat 20, does 14dmg.
Diem finishes it off with both bursts of an eldritch blast, second one crits, it dies. (Aftermath of the battle)
Lee: Did ya’ll kill everything?!
Everyone else tries to shush her after all the noise they made.
Diem (message): Yeah, we got him, all the ones we could see, but there’s a worm headed this way from your guys’ direction.
Ixayl’anu: Diem did you leave the rope?
Diem: Oh, no, hang on. (they pull it back out of their pack and tell it to tie off nearby while Lee responds)
Lee: (message back) oh shit, I’ll go take a look. (sneaks to the other side of her roof while Ixayl’anu climbs up.
Rana does nature checks on the creatures: It’s warm blooded, wash of heat from its mouth even though it’s dead (when she opens it up). They stink really bad.
Edea will inspect the flaps on top of its head. “Hm...I think these are heat sensing organs like a pit viper, but I have no idea what it is, I’ve not seen one of these before, this is no normal creature.”
Rana perception checks the opposite direction from which we came but gets 16, doesn’t see much, looks like desert.
Tarma-Diem communicates back and forth with Lee about what we’ve learned so far, just in case we all have to deal with more.
We discuss possibly taking a short rest very quietly before fighting this worm, hopefully. We quietly settle in on our respective roofs.
Rana heals Tarma-Diem full and heals Phi for 6. Uses her pearl to regain a spell slot.
Edea has been watching the mountains where the rest of the town headed. “I think I should go and find those people, because the infestation we’ve seen here is quite a bit and I don’t trust that they’ve made it on their own.” She tells us she plans to windwalk the other villagers into the mountains with her.  Tarma-Diem: “You don’t think you’ll need back up in case something did go wrong?” *gets dirty look from Rana and ignores it. Edea:  “You can come with if you want to, or stay here and make sure things are good.”
Tarma-Diem (realizing maximum fire power is still needed right here): I think we’ll make sure everything’s dead so the townspeople can safely return.
Rana: Yeah we will secure the town and wait for you to come back.
Using message/Tarma-Diem as an intermediary we communicate this plan to Lee, Val, Earl, and Pebbles before Edea wind walks over to pick each of them up in turn, walking through the air, into the mountains. We are warned not to assume we’ll get short rest though, so no clicking it and rolling hit dice back.
Next session: Saturday the 6th, 4pm est

pocket watch is just a placeholder for now until i get a better one. same one for the viridescent cup. just dont want a def main stat for the pocket watch and i'd like a anemo dmg bonus for the cup.
note: i don’t mind having def or hp sub stats, mostly because i’ve given up on perfect artifacts. i only get bothered if it’s hp or def main stat.

the original build plan was to make venti as a sub dps but then i upgraded prototype crescent to max lvl and this happened. until i get another bow prototype amber and venti will share a bow with each other. not using the war bow because diona stays on team for heals and i don't want to use venti just for his ult.
if i don't get venti (which is a huge possibility) i can give the artifacts to another character. either way i'm pretty proud of his build, still surprised i accidentally made venti into a potential main dps.
thank you for letting me ramble fukuzawa

I’m really feeling Koichi a lot for some reason.
He really likes gameboys (owns an original dmg, pocket light, and gb color), but he thinks wonderswan consoles are much more fun in terms of design and color options, but he thinks that they lack the quantity of games gameboy handhelds have. He does like his Neo Geo Pocket, and he sees some promises.
He also owns a playstation and a dreamcast although his does much prefer to use his desktop computer to play his more elaborate games.  His favorite games are rpgs so stuff like dragon age and final fantasy are more up his valley. He also enjoys the more casual time based games (think animal crossing) where he can do mundane tasks without a care, but that doesn’t stop him from playing more combative games, fighter games are the ones he likes to play with others.
He also really does like manga and watching anime. He isn’t like totally into it, mostly mecha based shows. Gundam is something you will see around his room as he does occasionally buy and build Gunplas.
Now where does he get all the money for such expensive hobbies. He tutors kids and when he get a good score in exams his parents reward him for his efforts.

Campaign Diary: The Heist!
I said I’d do it, so here it is!
So, a few days ago we played D&D, and then played a sesson right after, and now we’re probably gonna play D&D Tonight too, a rare opportunity but one I gladly accept.
I asked Tumblr to come up with Characters and Thieves for this Human Druid and Tortle Wizard to hire.
If you need context for this Campaign Diary, you can find it here.
So, we begin this session after the Party had recruited the Team, since they requested to do that between sessions rather than spend the night searching for Hirelings.
And the Team consisted of: Kenzo the Wood Elf Rogue, who helped the two assemble the Team, Talon the Human Wizard, Joey the Tabaxi Bard, Sunna the Human Sorcerer, Mars the Fire Genasi Pugilist and Jamkas Moonshadow, the Drow Rogue.
Now, they did have aid in a Wizard called Allister, but on the request of the Tumblr Person that made them, they were intended to be an NPC, and so I played them as an NPC...
Now, I didn’t intend for this to happen, but the Players ended up actually playing the Thieves, and let me tell you, DMing a Group of this kind of size isn’t easy, but oh boy was it fun.
So of course I gave the crafty Players the Wizards, the Leader-Type Player got Kenzo (The Leader of the Group), the Player that likes Combat got the Pugilist, the Players that like Roleplaying got the Rogue and the Bard. You see where I was going with this...
Part 1: Spreading Rumours
I’m gonna just break this session down into parts, because this session was about 7 hours long and I’m tired just writing it all down...
So as the session began, Kenzo the Wood Elf Mastermind Rogue (and Leader of her own little Thieves Guild, did ya know?) decides to sows rumours in the Capitol City to lead the Guards and Mages away from the Library during the time of the Heist.
So after running through the DMG to find the Rules for it, Kenzo’s Player rolled 6d6 for the amount of Days it would take for the rumours to take hold, and rolled horribly, getting 32 and meaning that the rest of the Group now had 32 Days of Downtime to fill before the Heist.
On the bright side though, Kenzo’s Player ROCKED her Charisma Check, rolling a Natural 19.
Plus, 32 Days of Downtime means even more time to prepare, which actually turned out to be VITAL!
But while this is happening, Talon the Wizard (also known as Roland) is inscribing a Spell Scroll of Teleportation Circle to gift to Hard Hat the Tortle Necromancer (don’t ask about his Name, it’s a long story...) as part of the Heist Group’s “Escape Plan”.
I will admit, the first maybe 3 hours of the session was just talking and planning, but honestly I didn’t mind it, since this “Phase” of the Heist is the Planning Phase, so of course they’re going to talk about how they get in, how they’re gonna get out, and what precautions need to be made to stop anything horrible from happening mid-heist.
Now back to the Scroll Writing!
To scribe this Scroll of this kind should take 4 Workweeks and 5,000GP, at least according to Xanathar’s Guide.
So where did Talon get 5,000 Gold from? Well he just asked Hard Hat the Tortle to get it for him.
And as it turns out, Hard Hat does not have 5,000 Gold Pieces on his person. Actually, he has no Gold at all.
So what does he do to get the Money?
Well to get the 5,000GP to cover the Cost of making the Scroll, Hard Hat uses a combination of Enthrall, Suggestion and Charm Person to con a bunch of townsfolk into handing over a bunch of their money.
Now this definitely deserves an Alignment change from Hard Hat to Neutral Evil, at least for a while, and I’ll tell you why...
The reason I’m ruling this as a “temporary” alignment change is because the actual Player's literal justification for these acts is: “Well the ends justify the means, we're hurting people to help people...”
And his alignment was partly Neutral already, so a shift that steps him towards the Evil Side for this Section of the Adventure definitely seems appropriate after this...
I’ve actually talked about this already, and you can read that Post about how I deal with Alignment VS Player Actions right here, but let’s continue...
Part 2: The Exit Plan...
It was weird that they started making an Exit Plan before they made an Entrance Plan, which kinds told me how the Players were expecting this to go just fine...
Their Exit Plan was this: A Series of Horse Drawn Carriages, with each carriage having a pair of Thieves in it. And when they reach the outside of the City, they all meet up at a predetermined location and teleport back from the Capitol City to the Eastern City of Fostin.
They planned for the Carriages to each go in different directions, just in case...
Part 3: The Pre-Heist
And so with their Plan, which they called “Pretty Much Okay”, Talon handed off the finished Spell Scroll of Teleportation Circle to Hard Hat the Tortle and the Group made their way on the several day journey to the Capitol City.
I had the Party roll for random Encounters on the Road. The way it works for me is if the Players roll an 11 or 12 on a d12, they have an Encounter. An 11 is a Hard Encounter, and a 12 is a Deadly Encounter.
But luckily they never had an Encounter, because they rolled horribly every day of travel, great for them I guess?
And as they enter the Capitol City through the Gates, the “Official” Pre-Heist began, and the Puzzle Pieces began to fall into place.
Part 4: The Actual Plan...
The Actual Plan was to disguise themselves as Construction Workers aiding in the restoration of the Library after the recent fire that destroyed the Edhel Halls West Wing.
Mr. Moonshadow used a combination of ridiculously good charisma checks and a great disguise kit to disguise himself as “Not a Drow”...
The others used a combination of disguise kits, disguise self and a hell of a lot of illusions to get into the site.
And from there... They got to work...
First they gained a Map of the Library thanks to their undercover work as Construction Workers, then they started to talk to the Guards around the area, and through observation they learned what kind of Armour the Guards wore, what Weapons they had on them, and realised that each Guard had a specific Patrol and had Signal Whistles around their necks.
And since they were actually working 9 to 5 as Construction Workers to aid in their Undercover Work, they soon gained the trust of the actual Construction Workers that were there to rebuild the Library.
The actual Construction Workers quickly learned the (disguised) faces of the Group and thanks to a few drinks after work and a few pretty darn amazing Charisma Checks (I'm serious, I'm pretty sure Moonshadow's Player didn't roll below a 15 all night), the actual Construction Workers found them trustworthy.
Part 5: Pensive Allister is the Most Helpful NPC...
Pensive Allister (remember him?) was the NPC Team Member and a pretty darn amazing Divination Wizard.
Every day during the “Scouting” Phase, Allister would remain in one of the Carts that brought the Group to and from the Construction Site, and then used a combination of Spells that slowly blew my mind at how useful they were together.
Those Spells were Rary’s Telepathic Bond, and Arcane Eye.
Rary’s Telepathic Bond allowed Allister to communicate wordlessly through telepathy to every other Member of the Heist Team, and the best part was the Spell didn’t require concentration and lasted for a whole hour.
Combine that with Arcane Eye, and this meant that Pensive could scout out the entire building and communicate it through telepathy to the rest of the Group without even getting out of the Cart.
And every now and then, the Group would need to crack open a window or a door to let Allister’s Arcane Eye through, but through scouting, Allister and the Group discovered that the basement was full of fog and strange symbols, but eventually, through Undercover Work, the Heist Team did in fact find the walls and walls of old scrolls.
Part 6: The Heist! (Finally!)
And so the day comes, the Heist is here, and they chose rather weirdly to do it during daylight!
The Players, one by one, sneak away into the deeper parts of the Library, with a lot of them just turning invisible and walking straight from the Cart into the Basement, the others creating the cover story of them being called to oversee and aid in another construction job happening to a tavern down the street.
So now they’re in the Library’s Basement and have about 8 hours to go through the Library (which thanks to Pensive made it incredibly easily to avoid the web-filled stairways) but they still had to deal with the Fog, the Stinking Clouds, and all the Arcane Locks that filled every door and entrance.
How did they deal with it? With Magic of Course!
Sunna the Sorcerer came especially useful here, using a combination of Silence and Knock (and a few Sorcery Points) to silently open every arcane lock and door.
They deal with the Fog by literally blowing it away, which I found to be a hilariously simply solution...
The Stinking Clouds however proved to be much more difficult, and caused Sunna to cast Gust of Wind after her Gust Cantrip did diddly-squat to get rid of the giant fart clouds in the Library...
But, finally, they made it to the Wall of Scrolls, and again, thanks to Allister and his Arcane Eye, they quickly located the Spell Scroll they needed, pocketed it, and then decided to be a bit cocky...
They stayed. They had the Spell Scroll literally in-hand, but in order to make it look like they weren’t Thieves, they stayed and did their work as Construction Workers, mostly because the Group wanted to be cocky and show off, but also to keep up the facade of actually doing Construction...
Part 7: The Getaway
And so as the evening came, the three carts they hired arrived at the site, and to everyone except the Party themselves, it appeared as though the Workers from out of town were just getting a cart back home, with those that snuck in invisibly having to roll Stealth Checks, which again, they succeeded because of course they did at this point...
So each Cart drives down a different street, and as soon as they reach the outskirts the city, Joey the Bard casts Sending to Hard Hat and tells him he has 10 Minutes to start inscribing his teleportation circle using the Spell Scroll Roland had given him almost two months ago at this point...
And then the group executes their Real Exit Plan, with everyone using Dimension Door (which is why they saved their Spell Slots!) to teleport just outside the forests near the Capitol.
Joey then casts Leomund's Tiny Hut with everyone standing inside and Sunna and Joey both up-cast Invisibility to hide the Group while Roland the Wizard begins inscribing his Teleportation Circle inside the Tiny Hut.
And so, with the entire Group Invisible and standing within the camoflaged Tiny Hut and standing on the Teleportation Circle, the Group teleports from their Teleportation Circle to the one Hard Hat had just inscribed in Fostin, and they return with the Spell Scroll of Sequester in hand.
Part 8?: Where Are The Other Two?
Meanwhile, the other two, Hard Hat the Tortle Wizard and his Human Druid Friend Nemo are chilling in their Tavern until Hard Hat hears Joey’s Sending message giving him the 10 Minute Warning to get somewhere private and start casting the Teleportation Circle.
So naturally, rather than sneak away somewhere private, Hard Hat casts Phantom Steed, jumps upon his ghostly horse, and gallops out from his bedroom, on a magical horse, down the stairs, out of the tavern and out into the wilderness near Fostin.
Nemorith (Nemo for short) realises what the heck is happening, turns into a Panther, and also runs out of the tavern...
Weird day for the Barkeep, am I right?
So they get out into the wilderness, Hard Hat uses his Scroll, and with a bright flash of blue light, the group appears standing within the circle, Stolen Spell Scroll in hand...
Part 9: My Thoughts
First off: Fate was on their side. No one rolled less than maybe a 10 all night.
Second: They planned way more than I thought they would. I expected them to overthink it but still be unprepared.
Third: DAMN THIS HEIST WAS FUN!
This was the first time I had ever run a Heist as anything more than “Sneak In, Kill Guys, Get the Thing, Get Out.”
So running a whole 6+ Hours of a Heist was definitely jumping into the Panic Zone, but honestly, I maybe said a couple of pages of text, and the rest was the Players roleplaying through their Planning, Scouting, and the actual Heist.
Overall... I kinda loved it. And I wouldn’t mind doing it again sometime....

Ngl, I quiet enjoy the process of crafting team comps to achieve a specific goal in gbf and for the past couple weeks it's been about building an EX+ OTK team for light GW.
In general I prefer to work with what I have to minimize time taken away from other in game efforts like building a certain Arcarum summon. Sure MLB-ing the Star and getting a light opus would go a far way in improving my grid damage as would farming for another sword to FLB my fourth Chev sword or Meteron animas to FLB my Chev summon but I just don't care to pour such resources (time and otherwise) on an element that currently has no relevance to me beside the upcoming GW.
Fortunately, I have most of the choice OTK characters in light and after much experimentation I have settled on the below team for GW:
Tumblr media
Mechanic MC with Miserable Mist subskill and frontline of the above. Not picture is my sole backliner Silva, added for her passive which provides bonus dmg upon chain burst. Main and support summon will be ULB Lucifer and Huanglong.
On the rec of an individual on Reddit I tried this same comp with Mirin instead Robomi but in the end it was the latter that provided the most reliable results. Still, shout out to little miss Samurai. I will continue to work on her emp and keep her in my back pocket for latter use. Very good unit for OTK even as an SR.
Interestingly, it seems Naoise's sk2 hitting is a key point of this setup as the few instances I fell short while running this team was when it missed. On the otherhand where it landed but either MM or Robomi's sk1 def down didn't things were still fine.
What's really nice about this team is that is completely full auto friendly. I don't even need to click a summon for it to work!

You do this eight times, twice for each staff. The staff of fire is one of four buildable elemental staffs in the map origins.
Upgrading the staff go to the crazy place, at the ice portal you will see ice blocks floating in the air with lines on them. Deities & Demigods / Legends & Lore Despite the changed title, cover graphics, and title page, the contents are virtually identical between the DDG and L&L. Presumably, naming the volume 'Legends & Lore' would be less likely to upset all the concerned mothers out there.
The very earliest edition of the DDG had the Cthulhu and Melnibonean (Elric) gods, but these were pulled from later printings to remove the possibility that TSR could be trespassing on licenses of the Chaosium company. Those versions command a higher price today. The first two printings have the extra pantheons (17 as opposed to 15 later). Next printing has 17 also, but with a 'Thanks' to Chaosium on page 4. Later printings removed the Elric/Cthulhu pantheons, but the thanks to Chaosium lingered for some time. It's tricky to tell from the exterior whether a DDG has the extra pantheons (The Wizard logo appears on both variations, though the TSR 'Face' logo only appears on late printings. The printing that first removed the extra pantheons still erroneously claimed 17 on the back cover!). Some online sellers confuse printings, and will claim C/M mythos when they're not actually present. Asking for the page count is the quickest indicator: 144 pages = Cthulhu/Melnibonean 128 pages = both mythos gone Quick breakdown of the printings: 1st - Has C/M mythos. No thanks to Chaosium. 2nd - Has C/M mythos. Thanks to Chaosium. 3rd - No C/M mythos. Still TSR Wizard logo on cover. Thanks to Chaosium. Back cover still claims 'seventeen pantheons'. 4th - No C/M mythos. Now has the TSR Face logo on cover. Thanks to Chaosium (still!). Back cover now correctly states 'fifteen pantheons'. Lots of photos over at our game blog page about the DDG. Deities and Demigods: The Extended Ability Scores Tables. -Wayne '(THE) DEITIES & DEMIGODS CYCLOPEDIA PROVIDES THE DUNGEON MASTER WITH GODS, HEROES AND MONSTERS FROM MYTH, FICTION AND LEGEND FOR USE IN ROUNDING OUT AN ADVANCED D&D CAMPAIGN. How to Use Adobe XD on Mac?
Adobe Xd Software Download
Adobe XD is smooth to operate which allows you to design pretty efficiently. Here are some steps on how to use Adobe XD on Mac:
Download Adobe Xd Mac Osx
Create a new file by going to File > New and choose the correct device type and screen size as per your requirement.
Use the powerful tools like Repeat Grid to repeat design without any hectic, Finder to find your image components, Text inheritance to import and edit texts and fonts.
From the asset panel, you can choose assets like symbols and icons to add to the canvas. Change colours or text styles and add them to the design. This will instantly follow through the whole project.
If you are done with designing, you can start prototyping by clicking on ‘Prototype’ right beside ‘Design’ on the top bar. Preview your work and link the screens through wiring.
Add different artboards to your prototype, and the fixed elements can have a blur effect when interacting.
You can share your prototype by clicking on ‘Publish Prototype’ from the top right corner. The shared recipients can open the file and comment on the design or pin it for accuracy.
If you are good to go and want to share your design with developers, choose ‘Publish design Specs’ which allows them to see the specifications to generate code.

Device History
This is a list of devices I've had over the years. It's here for reference. There isn't much here that I haven't talked about before. I will reference this list in other articles, and I will keep it updated.
Desktop Computers
Apple II
Apple IIC
Apple IIGS - This is the apex of the Apple II series. It could have been much better if Apple would have allowed the microprocessor to work at it's base clock. It was a great system that was upgradeable. Our IIGS had an 80 Megabyte hard drive, 4 Megabytes of RAM, a graphics card upgrade, a 3.5 diskette, and 5.25 floppy disk drive.
Macintosh SE30
Performa 410 - The Family's Mac.
Macintosh Quadra 605 - My private machine.
PowerMac 8500 A/V This is the computer that hurdled me into media and graphics production.
PowerComputing PowerTower Pro 180 - The family PowerMac. While the PowerMac 8500 A/V was my private system, the  PowerTower Pro  was the family machine. It died a gruesome death when my sister's fiance decided to clean the carpets, and didn't put the tower up on the desk.
Dell Optiplex Pentium II - The family computer given to us by my uncle.
PowerMac G3 Desktop - Replaced my PowerMac 8500, and got the A/V card from my 8500 as well.
iMac (2nd Gen) - The family's Mac.
Dell Optiplex Pentium 4 - My private PC.
PowerMac G4 - Replaced the PowerMac G3 Desktop.
2006 MacPro (First Gen) 2.66 4-core - This was the Mac I used through my Masters Degree.
2009 21.5" iMac - Replaced my 2006 Mac Pro. Got dropped by a technician during repair.
2011 21.5" iMac - Replaced the 2009 iMac. I passed that along to a friend when I was finished with it.
PowerMac G5 - Given to me by a friend. Still in use for projects that need a legacy Mac system that can run Mac OS 9.
2011 27" iMac - My second design system. I sold it around the same time I passed the 21.5" iMac to a friend. I used the money to build my PC computer.
Custom Built Intel Xeon Workstation I did a ton of articles about this build on this BLOG. I am not going to reference them though.
Custom Built AMD Ryzen 9 3900X workstation - My current workstation.
Laptops
Toshiba Satellite Pro - The first laptop I used during my college career.
PowerBook 3400 / G3 Kanga - It started out as a PowerMac 3400, and I used it for a couple of years. I then paid $800 to upgrade it to a PowerBook G3 Kanga. I passed this computer on to my sister when she started college.
PowerBook G3 (Lombard) - Replaced the PowerBook G3 Kanga. It got passed on to a friend.
iBook G3 (Ice White) - This was the iBook G3 with technical issues which caused the GPU to become un-soldered. It was replaced by Apple with an iBook G4.
iBook G4 - This was a great laptop ... It was stolen from the computer lab I worked in.\
17" MacBook Pro (1st Gen) - Replaced my iBook G4.
2009 MacBook Pro
2012 MacBook Pro - This laptop is still in use for Mac only projects.
Wacom Cintiq Companion 2 - Recently retired. The pen digitizer became too glitch-y.
2017 HP Spectre X360 - My current laptop.
Game Consoles
Atari 2600 - Is there an American family from the 80's that didn't have one of these.
Nintendo Entertainment System - We purchased this and a box of games from a yard sale ... It was supposed to be broken, but the seller told me she thought it needed a new RF adapter. We already had a couple from the Atari 2600.
Nintendo GameBoy / Pocket / Micro / Color - My favorite handheld game console to this day. I had several devices and over 100 games. My favorite GameBoy in particular is the original GameBoy DMG.
Sega Genesis / Sega CD / Sega 32X - My favorite game console, excluding the 32X. I only have about two dozen games. That was because our Video rental store specialized in Sega Rentals. Well at least until the Sony PlayStation was released.
Sega GameGear - It was a good game system with a decent library. It had several problems though. Poor battery life, expensive peripherals, and many of the games were overpriced.
Panasonic 3DO - A very short-lived game system. I only had 10 games. My favorite 3DO game was SNKs Samurai Shodown. It was way overpriced.
Sony PlayStation - It made sense since the local video rental place had a ton of games to rent.
Sega Dreamcast - By this time our video rental place stopped renting games for newer systems. The DreamCast was an awesome gaming system. I purchased mine from a used electronics store.
GameBoy Advance - Everything I loved about the GameBoy only with better graphics.
Nintendo GameCube - This one is simple. Metroid Prime (GameCube) + Metroid Fusion (GameBoy Advance). Other than the Metroid Prime Series I had about a dozen other games.
PlayStation 3 - Got it and a bag of games from a friend.
XBOX One S - I only have a few games for this system. I really purchased this as a replacement for an Apple TV.
SmartPhones
Nokia N80 ie - My favorite Symbian phone.
Apple iPhone
Apple iPhone 3GS - One of my favorite iPhones.
Nokia 700
Samsung Galaxy Nexus - My first Android phone.
Samsung Focus - The phone that made me hate Samsung.
Apple iPhone 5C - The phone that changed my mind about the Apple ecosystem.
Sony Xperia 5C - My favorite Android phone so far.
Sony Xperia  XZ1
OnePlus 7T - My current phone.
Tablets / PDA
Oregon Scientific AM888FL organizer
Cybiko - All of the kids in the house had one. Too bad it was obsolete before my parents purchased them at Big Lots.
Apple iPad
Apple iPad 2
Apple iPad Mini Retina - My favorite Apple iPad of all time.
Apple iPad Air 2
Wacom Cintiq Companion 2 - Recently retired. The pen digitizer became too glitch-y. Yes, this was also in the laptop list.
Asus MemoPad 7CX -  My first Android tablet, and an excellent tablet as well.
Nvidia Shield Tablet K1 - Highly regarded as one of the best Android Gaming tablets of it's time
Apple iPad (8th Generation) - the 128 GB model. You can read the review my review here.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 - My current favorite tablet of all time.
Maker Boards
Raspberry Pi 2B
Raspberry Pi 3B - Used for several learning projects. I also used it as a test board for kiosks I was designing for companies
Asus Tinkerboard (first gen) I used this for my PiHole ad blocker. It has a gigabit ethernet port where the Raspberry Pi 3B had megabit ethernet. I passed it on to a friend when the 4th gen Raspberry Pi released.
Raspberry Pi Zero W - This will be at the heart of my RetroFlag GPi case.
Raspberry Pi 4B - I have a few of these. One is a testing board for Internet projects. One is running a PiHole, and one is currently the mainboard of a retro gaming machine.
Raspberry Pi CM4 - The upgrade for my RetroFlag GPi case.
