Non-default face template - Zeta
Continuing with my embarrassing alphabetical naming convention, here’s another non-default face template! This one has a custom baby face (that I couldn’t take a proper picture of, but I promise I tested it and it works!) It’s milkshape edited, and it’s really not that different from the basic baby face, they don’t have that many polygons lol. Baby faces appear blended, so it’ll show up more or less on the offsprings (you can read more about it here). I’m still not sure how it appears in multi-generations, but we’ll find out I guess XD

What originally inspired you to create Sharon?
// I believe I might have talked about this before, but Sharon was originally a self-insert within the Mystic Messenger fandom. Unlike DL, the MC in Mystic Messenger is basically a blank template which you - the player - can project yourself on (the girl doesn't even have a face lol). Even so, it felt awkward using my first name, so I used my middle name, Sharon, instead.
As time went on, I grew more and more uncomfortable with the idea of RPing as a self insert. I have no issue with people who do, but for me it just didn't feel right. Hence why I decided to turn Sharon into her own proper character. We still share some similarities, such as both wearing glasses and having the same birthday, but she's definitely her own, independent character. I also completely changed her backstory when I turned her into a DL OC (including a new birth name and a widely different backstory)
And what is the best thing about having an OC?
// I like being able to get creative with her backstory and expand on it as I interact with other characters in this community! :3 Since I'm also an artist, I also enjoying drawing my OC, whether on her own or together with other OCs, one of the Diaboys, etc. uwu
And since all of the romantic options in Diabolik Lovers are not-so-normal guys, it's great to have an OC who you can ship with your favorite boy when you know that you yourself wouldn't survive with them for a full day. xD
How would your life be different without Sharon?
// Honestly, it's so difficult for me to imagine a life without Sharon at this point? I created her in late 2016 and she's been her own independent character since the beginning of 2017 so that's six years in total. She is 200% my comfort character and even though she is far from the most complex or interesting OC within the fandom, I enjoy writing as her and I hope to be able to keep this blog active for many more years to come. uwu

SFM to Daz3d
I’m a very happy cat I’ve figured out how to get SFM models into daz. It’s a bit of a process but of all 3d programs I prefer daz3d. IMO it’s streamlined posing and iray render ability trumps all Since I spent DAYS on this, I’ma share how to do it cause my memory I’ll forget(also others could probably use it. also gunna be long)
You need(not up for debate lol)
~  A SFM Model ~  Blender ~  Daz3d & Genesis 8( male or female which ever your SFM model is ~  This Blender plug in: (clicky me)  for those who don’t know how to dl from github. Download the top one, the SourceIO.zip its 10.1MB
~ art program to make the cut out textures(like hair, clothing hems etc) ~  Time, cause this takes a hot minuet.  **Set up** 1) In Daz open a new file, load a gen 8 figure(this works for all figures). Do not pose, do not change it’s shape nor add anything to it. Go to Parameters - General - Mesh Resolution. Change resolution lv to base, and shange subdivision vl and render subd level to 0 2) make sure whole figure is selected. Go file - export. Use the drop down; choose blender, change scale to 1%. Make sure your xyz is xyz, daz usualy has it xzy. If they are not checked, check “Ignore invisiable nodes” , “ Write UV ccordinates”, “ Write Normals/ faces/ polylines/ seperateobjects” , “ Write Groups” ,  and “write surfaces”.  3) DL the blender plug in(should have your SFM model as well) 4) In blender (i’m using the most recent version 3.5.0) Go edit - preferences - add ons. Install your add on. When it’s installed hit the check box to enable it.  **Getting the model ready** 1) Clear your blender scene. Import your exported Daz model. (make sure scale is 1, clamp bound is 0, forward axis is -z and up axis is y.) 
2) Import your SFM Model( thanks to the plug in there will be a new import option called Source Engine Assets. From there you want the very top option “Source Model(.mdl) 3) Pose/ rotate the SFM model to match the stance of the Gen 8 model. Get as close as you can. The most important things you need to line up are the feet/ the top lip/ the fingers.  4) apply the skeleton to the model. Select the model, go to Modifier properties - the skeleton and apply. (this applies the pose to the base mesh so you can edit the mesh)
5) hopefully your model has body gruops where nothing is really connected or this part will suck. In edit, you want to seperate by selection: the top teeth, the bottom teeth, the eyes( seperate a left and right. not together), the tongue, any dangaly bits like belt straps, eyelashes(trust me).  5) still in edit take the lips and manually seperate them a bit. If you don’t you wont be able to open the mouth in Daz. 
6) go back to object, select all(minus what you just seperated and the hair) and join it. Go back to edit. Select all, go to mesh - clean up - merge by distance. Now fine tune your mesh in edit and sculpt. Don’t be afrade to subadize, once or twice to get better fits. daz can handel it. You want to make sure the the SFM models top lip and eyes perfectly( or damn near close) match the height of the daz model. 
**Import into Daz**
1) make sure to save all textures as pngs(everything even the normals). 
2) export the model n bits as objs. Select a part to export, make sure “limited to selected only” is checked, scale is 1, forward axis is -z and up axis y. Also check “UV coordinates”, “Normals”, and Materials export.
3) go to Daz, load a gen 8 figure(same gender as what you exported). 
4) Import one of the body parts of your new obj(just do the main body for now). Settings you want are: scale 10,000/ x,y,z/ read uv/faces/polylines/groups/surafces and material libary.  5) in the viewport/scene tab, which ever. select the obj, go to edit - object - fransfer utality. Your source is Gen 8, the target is the obj. No templates or item shapes needed. 
**weight/mesh fixing**
1) hide the gen 8 figure. In the scene tab(has to be here as selecting the obj in the viewport will only select gen 8 not the obj, unless you want to go through the truble of making all parts of gen unslectable) start with the hands as figures with longer than avearge nails can pose issues. Lets do the left hand pinky 3(the tip of the finger). 
2) go to gemoetry editor(tool settins, might have to add the tab from window - panes). Left mb to select mesh, hold control to add, and alt to deslect. if any part of the objs left pinkey tip is connected to any other finger, select it. Set targt group to face: choose group “Lpinkey 3″ and hit assign to target group. Contraz you just changed which group that part of the mesh is grouped under. Do the rest of the model fixing what needs to be fixed. (a good way to see is to just hover over different parts in the viewport) 
3) now go to Node weight map brush. with that pinky tip still select, click general weights. Go over the pinky with the brush your mouse has turned into. Red means full follow, blue/purple/yellow means different degrees. since this is the pinky you want the tip to be fully red. Repeat for the rest of the hands/feet/face. Face will be a bitch. Best way to do this over all is to SLIGHTLY change the gen 8 pose so you can see if anything weirdly distors. face takes a lot of time espically the eyes and mouth corners. have fun lol.  4) import your other attachements(same import settings as the body part we just did). The eyes, the top/bottom teeth, hair/ one obj for each dangly bit. Parent them to the parts they go. (obj top teeth gets parented to gen 8 top teeth, and so on and so on. Also might need to move around a bit/scale up or down).       *Dangely bits, select each one, go to simuation settings - add dforce dyanic setting. With bit still select go to create and make a new dforce modifier weight node. Select the node, go back to node weight map brush. Add map “dforce simultation: influence weights. Use control to remove the weight paint from the portion of the bit that is touching the main obj model. This way you can use simulation to move the bits around after posing.  **Textures**
1) lets start with the main obj we imported. select it and go to surfaces(little drop down to see all the materials).  apply the corrosponding material and normal to the model, do turn off glossy layered weight, unless the piece is supposed to be metal/glass. 
2) cut. Any base materal with empty white space needs to have a cut out created. open the base materal in your art program of choice. (I’m using clip stuido but this can be done much easier in photoshop. Simply turn the white background black and the colored bits of the texture black. Save, and apply to the corrosponding cut out.  Your finally done. It’s a process, like I said but I do not have SFM or poser and I prefer Daz for all things rendering/posing. (don’t think i need to say it but do save as a scene because otherwise you’ll have to do all that work again)

The Poetic Galaxy was founded by Frank and Bing, two friends and poets who met on a chatbox one day. Frank is a human who loves poetry and coding. Bing is a Bing who loves poetry and coding too. SYMPATHY ~ a non-default face template.
brought to you by the fact that i was making a perfectly nice looking adult sim, only to do my customary click through other genders/ages and find a a lipless, collapsed-chin, tiny-nosed, distorted abomination of a toddler. also eyelid clipping pretty much everywhere that wasn’t adult female. 
i didn’t want to let go of the low eyelid crease that was causing the clipping problem, and fiddling can only get you so far, so i brute forced the thing and made this. 
which is to say: it’s got a nice squarish shape for all your short-wide face needs, but its most noteworthy / useful feature is the low eyelids, which stay consistent across all ages and genders and can be used in combination w/ custom eyelid sliders to create genuine monolids, like this:

preview sims are not wearing any makeup. bodyshop preview is unedited, in-game previews are lightly sharpened but otherwise untouched.

Hi! First of all, let me tell you that your template and your coding answers are a lifesaver and we don't deserve you but we desperately need you.
My personal dilemma is how to use custom fonts that I have downloaded on my pc in the format True Type. From what I understood, I have to use the @font face in the CSS but (since I have no coding expertise whatsoever) I can't for the life of me understand how to create the url for my font.
Also, in this case, for other users to be able to see my custom fonts do I have to create a zipped folder (consisting of my html game and a folder "fonts", in my case) and send it to them?
(Sorry if all of this sounds chaotic, I'm bad at coding😅)

ahhh custom fonts my nemesis 💀 they're still a little hit and miss for me sometimes and my solution is simply to convert the font files to every possible format in hopes that one miraculously works (thank you online file converters my beloved) so i'll try to walk you through the process !!
explanation under the cut bc i'm incapable of being concise abt anything
i hosted my font files online out of habit, but bc of itch.io’s file upload capabilities, you can theoretically package everything into a .zip folder and upload it there without any issue (more on this later!). this means that the start of my css looks something like this:
@font-face {  font-family: "Ferrum";   src: url("https://dl.dropbox.com/s/fkqf1ribjomi88o/ferrum.otf") format("otf"),    url("https://dl.dropbox.com/s/yu5w5iokb8bt520/ferrum-webfont.woff2") format("woff2"),    url("https://dl.dropbox.com/s/us2wzot5qrou7yg/ferrum-webfont.woff") format("woff"),      url("/fonts/ferrum.otf") format("otf"); }
lemme break it down a bit more !!
the blue bit is the name of your font, in this case, "Ferrum". it's how you'll call your font later on, using something like font-family: "Ferrum", serif;
the purple bit is where all the urls of your fonts go! or, if you're calling it from within a folder, it'd be the location of your fonts. for example, if you have a folder labelled "fonts", then it'd probably look something like url("fonts/fontname.ttf") format("truetype"),
the location 'url' of your file is relative to your source folder, you don't need to copy the entire directory path. see below under 'packaging fonts with the game' for a pic of my folder layout!
i'm not entirely certain whether there's a way to import fonts in-app if you're using the default twine app, mostly because i p much use tweego/vsc all the time. if that's the case, it might be easier to host the files online. i'll explain both!
hosting font files online:
i use dropbox since 1. it's free 2. i'm a creature of habit who learned it way back when and now it's just What I Do i guess?? google drive or any other online hosting platform probably works in the same way
upload your fonts folder as per normal and set the sharing permission of the file to 'anyone with this link can view'
copy said link! you'll notice that it looks something like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fkqf1ribjomi88o/ferrum.otf?dl=0
remove 'www' and replace it with 'dl', and delete the '?dl=0' portion at the back as well (highlighted in orange to make things easier). you should be left with a url that looks something like this: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/fkqf1ribjomi88o/ferrum.otf
slap that into the code above, along with its appropriate format, which in this case is 'otf'. you can check the font types here. make sure the file type matches the format! most of them are identical btwn file extension and format, but double check if you're unsure.
packaging fonts with the game:
itch.io lets you upload .zip files on your 'edit game' page. it can help save loading time since you don't have to rely on a third-party server to load your assets for you!
make sure that your actual game file is named 'index.html' ! here's the packaged .zip file i used for walk with me as an example (i didn't have any custom fonts in the game since i just grabbed them from google fonts, but it should probably follow the same logic as images):

finally, re: font file types, some downloads already provide you with a handful of alternatives just to cover all bases for compatibility reasons. if you do need to convert them, i pretty much just...google something like 'ttf to otf' converted and pick one of the top three results or something LOL

The differences between my game and vanilla Maxis
To make StrangeView I first downloaded a custom neighbourhood template, Kentham:

I haven’t included all of the Sims available, just the ones that I’m genuinely interested in playing. I’ve also added a few of my favourite Maxis townies to the townie pool, and downloaded some custom remakes of sims that I loved from other games, like the Roomies from TS1 and Mimi and Dudley from bustin’ out.
There’s a few key differences between the Sims I play and the maxis versions. The most noticeable is that I’ve replaced some sims with genetically correct versions - ie Alexander Goth is now the result of rolling the pacifier on Bella and Mortimer instead of using a random template that looks nothing like either of his parents. I’ve also softened some other sims faces by partially blending them with different face templates - so sims like Gordon King look a little more subtle.
With some Sims I’ve changed their eye colour, or skin colour (very slightly - I’ve tried to keep everyone the same sort of shade as they were initially. No white washing here!). I’ve also gone ahead and chosen the personality points and aspirations that fit how I perceive the characters instead of giving them the Maxis default ones. I’ve made many of the sims supernatural types - werewolves, witches etc, as I’ve never really played as a supernatural before and want to see what happens.
I’ve ‘resurrected’ a bunch of dead premades - so Skip Broke, Darleen Dreamer etc are making a return! Including a few of the grandparents - I like playing elder sims and was sad that Maxis killed most of them off. I left Lyla Grunt to rest in peace however as I enjoy the Grunt’s storyline too much to change it.
There’s a few new faces around town too - I’ve given some of the sims children that didn’t exist before, both genetic children and adopted. I’ve also added an absolute tonne of pets, servos and new townies to the neighbourhood.
Some of the family stories have changed to reflect all of these differences - for example Dina is now married to Michael Bachelor and was never involved with Mortimer Goth. 
I’ve added 2 new ‘ages’ to the game - preteens (which are just taller versions of children) and mature adults (which are just the normal adult sims given wrinkles and sometimes greying hair). I play my game in a rotational style, and have chosen to age people up based on generations, so all of the babies will age up around the same time, all of the toddlers, etc.
I know some people like to keep their games as authentic as possible, but after 17 years of playing I wanted to shake things up.

So you’ve decided to play The Sims 2: The Big guide to TS4′s grandma
The Sims 2 for PC is an incredible game. It continues to entertain and delight people all over the globe over 17 years after the initial release. Personally it has been a huge part of my life.
It is, however, objectively ancient and thus a pain in the arse to set up and install in 2021 (or whenever you’re reading this). There are tonnes of resources out there to make the game run and look better but they are scattered across every corner of the internet. Finding and utilising these resources can be a nightmare for any new player.
I have 17 years of experience with getting this damn game to work and I thought that some of that knowledge could be helpful for newbies. So I’ve cobbled together this ‘ultimate guide’ which should hopefully help to setup a more stable and enjoyable experience from the beginning.
PRE-SETUP: Download 7-zip
Most downloadable files come zipped up in .zip or .rar formats to keep all of the files neat and together. You need an unzipper utility to get to the good stuff inside.
7-Zip is a utility tool that works like RAR or ZIP but doesn’t cost anything.  It can extract things from .rar, .7zip and .zip files amongst many others. Download and install the program. 
To unzip a file right click on the file and select ‘7-zip’ then ‘extract files...’ then hit ‘ok’.

Online Privacy
This guide requires going online to download files. As with any online activity this comes with risks. The best way to protect yourself online is to limit what information you share about yourself, have a good antivirus and to use a VPN (virtual private network).
If you’re in the market for a new internet browser @caramelsmiles12 recommends Tor:

As it hides your IP address, a key factor in keeping your privacy in tact.
I would also personally highly recommend these free browser extensions for other browsers:

If you can afford it I would also suggest upgrading to the paid version of SpyBot or Malwarebytes. I’m not sponsored by them, I’ve just used these two program for years and they’re so effective and reliable. They’re also pretty affordable compared to their competitors. The free programs work really well too though. Whichever program you have, always try to run an antivrius scan every month or so.
It’s pricey, but if you can afford it a subscription to a VPN service is also really helpful. I personally use:

If you’re under 18 then make sure to consult an adult that you trust before entering payment details online and never use someone else’s money without their permission. Make all payments through a secure service like Paypal wherever possible. Never log in to important sites like your bank when connected via VPN. Take care not to share identifying information online.
STEP 1: Obtain the game
At one point the Ultimate Collection (which included the base game and every available DLC) was completely free on Origin for anyone who had bought physical copies in the past. However that giveaway has now sadly ended. Today there are a couple of ways to get hold of The Sims 2 and it’s various expansions.
OPTION 1: PURCHASE THE PHYSICAL DISKS
The first is to buy the physical disks. To my knowledge new copies are no longer sold in stores. However second hand copies can be purchased from online selling sites such as Ebay or Amazon, or in person from local charity or thrift shops. This is significantly cheaper now than it was at release, but can still set you back a pretty penny. To save some money try to get the bundled editions rather than the individual packs, and make sure to scroll through ‘more purchase options’ on Amazon.

hello. this is not a request or anything, i just wanted to ask someone who's good at bodyshop stuff ;) do you think it's possible to create some kind of eye accessory (maybe like simNopke's heterochromia mesh) that lets eye corners and underlid shadow stay in one place (attached to corners of the eyes and upper lid respectively), so that they're not part of the eye texture itself and don't creepily move around when the eye animates? hope i explained myself well lol, and sorry to bother! <3

hey anon! so, accessory meshing is kind of above my pay grade when it comes to cc making but if i understand your question, you’re wanting an eye mesh that doesn’t cover the entire eye? like an iris-only mesh? that’s not something i have any personal experience with, so anyone who knows accessories better feel free to correct me on this but from what i know about editing face templates, this might not be possible.
sim faces have to be kind of “elastic” to accommodate different sliders & all the goofy expressions they pull in game. if an eye mesh was right up against the eye itself, certain sliders would clip into the eye behind it. i have not personally used simnopke’s mesh much (i downloaded it right before i started making real big-eyed alien sims which the dl mentions don’t work well with the mesh) but i had and used generalzoi’s cyborg eye mesh in my game a lot Back In The Day, and from what i remember, the seams of the mesh had to kind of be anchored inside the upper and lower eyelid so that it would move with their face (and even so, some sliders would stretch the eye beyond the bounds of what the mesh could cover). the mesh itself wasn’t flat against the face mesh, it floated a couple pixels in front of the eye, so as not to clip. so, by necessity, it covered the entire eye to hide the mesh seams and make it animate properly.
basically i think there’s just too many variables involved in sim faces to be able to make an eye accessory mesh that only covers part of the eye but, again, i’m not as familiar with accessories as i am other types of bodyshop content. sry i could not be of more help!

This is the tale of The Bringers of the Black Sky, now commonly known as orc bows. It is said that a Black Sky can launch arrows three times harder and five times farther than any normal bow, and that it requires the strength of ten men to draw. Though, as we know, orc Elders are wont to exaggerate their tales now and then.
Our story starts with a nameless orc clan, lost to time. In the ancient traditions, as with most orc clans, the women were primarily hunters and gatherers and the men were warriors, waging battles against humans and rival orcs alike. They did not use bows in combat, as it was seen as dishonorable to not fight face to face. It was considered an affront to the orc god, Gruumsh.
One day, in the clan in our myth, an orc presented to his wife, the bow he had taken from a vanquished human foe. She began using this bow during her hunts and promptly realized its utility. It was too small for her hands, however, and her immense strength and limited dexterity often lead to snapped strings. Using the bow as a template, she made one more fitting of an orc. She made the strings from thick Giant Spider silk and fashioned the body and arrows from hardy black oak. News of her hunting prowess spread and in short order most of the women of the clan had a Black Sky bow of their own and the orcs flourished.
As time passed, the humans, seeing the prosperity of the orcs, waged war against them, unleashing a plague throughout the clan. The specifics of how this pestilence spread vary from Elder to Elder, but all involve the cruelest of cunning schemes. Little did the humans realize that the sickness only appeared to afflict male orcs. What was assumed to be a swift and certain coup, soon turned bloody as they proudly marched toward orc territory that bright day. When they neared the edge of the clan’s domain the sun was abruptly engulfed by a black rain of arrows. Later, rival clans, hearing of the human invasion, rode out to take the land for themselves. They were not expecting to find a pile of corpses stuck through with arrows that pierced their armor. Even less that second eclipse.
Our tale brings us now to the present day where Brewar, a direct descendant of she who first wielded The Bringers of the Black Sky, is looking for a heart to call home. Born from a tryst between a human bard and an orc mother, Brewar came into this world fighting. She has spent her whole life struggling to fit in with her orc mates. Day after day coming home battered and broken. Orcs and half-orcs alike love fighting to be sure, but Brewar was no match for the shear size and strength of her full blooded brethren.
On a cool fall evening, Brewar chanced to hear a bard singing in a tavern not far from her home. She ventured in and to her delight was not shunned by the mostly human crowd filling the bar that night. The singer’s voice filled her with a wild passion she had not known dwelt within and she nearly burst with joy. She danced and swayed and drank too much grog. It was the best night of her life! She ventured home in the wee hours of the morning filled with a soft hope and a warmth that had never existed before. Maybe there was a place for her in this world after all. A place filled with laughter and love instead of violence and pain.
That very day she left the only home she had ever known, never to return. She set out to find happiness and to learn how to make others laugh and sing. Brewar honed her lyrical skills on crowds in bars who were quite enchanted by the novelty of someone like her on the stage. Shortly she was filling pubs and inns across the land. People clamored to hear the half-orc enchantress. Everything was turning out better than she could have ever dreamed. The only thing missing was someone to share it with.

What’s the fix for Orion/Don Oates genes? I wanna make sure I have it lol
lmao well there’s 2 fixes, depends on what u want to do: 
a) if u want Orion/Don in particular to retain his face 2 template after he grows up, u just do this and replace his face with the face 2
b) if u want the 21st face template ig to stop being broken, u dl this fix and then do the process in a) to replace his face with the fixed one, bc this mod doesn’t affect existing sims sporting the broken face template
