My DIY Punk Stuff
The pants I’ve posted already, here’s a guide I made to how to get started on your own.
The vest is new! I got the base off of Mercari and painted the Acid Bath, Minor Threat, and Fugazi patches. I haven’t worn it yet, I made it for summer when my pants get too heavy to wear.
The bag is something I made entirely out of scratch out of canvas. I painted the Dystopia logo and covered it in sashiko. It was supposed to be a bum flap, but it’s too cunty to sit on and I wanted a smaller bag anyways. The hardware wasn’t too hard to figure out, I bought the strap from Joaan’s and figured it out. The only expense was having to buy a grommet hole puncher :(

Solar dyeing with lupin flowers again! Last summer I tried this for the first time, and it turned out pretty, but sadly the blue color faded in the wash. This time I used more alum, which is a mordant and should make the dye stick to the fabric and last longer. I'll try rinsing it with vinegar after taking it out, which should help with the fading as well. And I'll hand-wash it with cool water instead of machine washing.
Here's a short how to:
Wet the shirt with water. Stuff it with flowers, roll it up and put in a big glass jar with more flowers on the bottom and sides.
Measure 10-20% of the dry shirts's weight in alum and dissolve in hot water. Add the alum-water to the jar.
Fill the jar with water all the way to the top. Try to get as few air bubbles as you can in the jar so that it doesn't start to grow mold. Cover the top with some cling film and then put on the lid to make it air-tight.
Place on the windowsill to soak in the sun for two weeks. I have a plate and some tissue under the jar in case it leaks.
Take the shirt out and rinse with cold water until the water runs clear. You can try adding some vinegar to the last rinse to help the color last longer.
Dry and enjoy! Hand-wash in cold water to not fade the color.
This jar method is really eco dyeing, because it uses the sun's energy, and the lupin flowers are an invasive species here in Finland. You can use other materials as well, like many kitchen scraps! Onion skins, citrus peels, tea bags... I've collected some already!

The "punk princess headband" as I like to call it
made by zip-tying a piece of low-gouge (meaning light) chain to a headband, sticking a bunch of safety pins into it and adding two teeth charms for fun, for a total cost of barely a dollar
You could screw spikes into it, add nails, wire, any other hardware you can manage, there is a lot of room for artistic interpretation
Made this one for a drag show i have in a few days

For my friend solstice celebration thing my friend gave me some clothes that used to be her grandpas, it's pants and a jacket and it's very cool
I need to alter the pants though and this will be my first alteration project
I definitely need to make them a couple inches bigger, but I didn't know if there was a way I could also make them high waisted
Any suggestions would be appreciated

I spent some of my weekend making our cats a new cat “tree”. I wasn’t finding anything I liked out in the wild, so I made my own mushroom tree.
It’s mostly wood and a heavy-duty carpet tube wrapped in sisal, foam batting, and then upholstered. The tops I made custom with my rug tufting machine.
I’m hoping within the next few days it’ll be thoroughly investigated and claimed by the house beasties.

I was disappointed in there being no such thing as clothing patches that look like moss, so I made them myself, imma buy a moth patch at some point and put it on as well

A teacher gift for the last year of elementary school. Our kiddo loved her teacher and her teacher loves rainbows.
Kiddo helped sew (it's a pretty simple strip-pieced pattern), which was important for her to do.
