Are these things really better than the things I already have? Or am I just trained to be dissatisfied with what I have now?

The youngest daughter
You heard about me a lot,
She mentions me all the time,
They mention me all the time,
How she had to protect me
from the problems I've never caused.
You heard about me right?
But what do you know?
The lazy and unreliable one
in every story?
That's only natural for you to believe,
Because you know I believe that too.
The one who is admired,
The one who is loved.
And the one who doesn't care,
never try to be enough.
One who's "too much"
all the damn time.
And I know you heard about me,
And I know you heard,
How I spend a lot,
Someone your blood and flesh,
gets not as much as you thought.
Mom favours her,
Dad loves her the best,
She does whatever she wants,
a luxurious nest.
You practically heard this a lot, what I'm going to tell you,
Listen to me even though you know–
They sacrificed a lot, for building her life,
She did nothing, but she's the one at the edge of a knife.
Uncivilised, uncompromising and not so nice
No matter who becomes a virtue, she's always the vice.
The oldest's anger and dissatisfaction,
maybe not always it's the case,
But whenever the question is raised,
"They love you the most, they treat you the best"
Arrogant, rebellious and the unpleasant,
She gets that alot, that's how you describe the youngest.
And for whom, parents never cared about you,
And for whom, you had to refuse the last piece of cake.
For whom, you had to give up on your room,
For whom, you'll not be praised even for how much you make.
And you try, to go back on words, to change the fate,
because of the little girl, you want to, but you cannot hate.
And I guess y'all know about these,
The cat, the mouse and the piece of cheese.
And the cat leaves and moves out,
The mouse didn't know how to cope up,
So that's why she always shouts.
But then, how about reading some things unknown ?
What happens to the girl, why doesn't she smile anymore? Why does she always frown?
Did she have to take the responsibility of always being good?
She didn't need to be compared, she didn't need to be called rude.
You were busy complimenting the comparison,
An Individual, who was never known and given a reason.
Good or bad, she never wanted them,
You all made her the antagonist here who loves to complain.
And with the tag of being spoiled one,
she became the alter ego of yours,
The princess with a large mansion
And who never endures.
Someday you leave,
Making her all alone,
She never cries,
She has now grown.
It's the best, cause you never want to see
The teenage self in her eyes again,
Where everything is immature- love, happiness or pain.
She never had the idea of how the world works, right?
She said, "no I'm fine" whenever you charged her,
But the question in her eyes didn't surrender.
Hopeful- she wanted you to try a bit more,
"She never shares, she just knows how to close the door"
You wanted to be a teacher, punish for her mistakes.
She just wanted a sister to share her aches.
Hard or soft, whatever the feelings were,
She just never trusted you again,
And why would she do it?
You became a traitor
You never took the share of her pain.
And where were you, when she was on her knees,
Praying to make it all stop?
You were not there when she got home.
You were not there when she was trying to build her rome.
She never blamed you for choosing your happiness.
But why's that different when it comes to her?
Why can't you all see
That she too has a lot of scars?
To have nothing,
It must be hard, it must be bad,
But I had you,
Then why have I always felt sad?
I cannot describe the mixed feelings,
Maybe this all happened because of us.
I love you more than my life,
I cried a lot, weren't my eyes enough obvious?
I was not a criminal, nor you were,
We could have made it better, I swear.
But you never ever tried,
And I always denied.
You left the room, you left me alone,
Now you ask me about my feelings? Why have I never shown?
Was it so easy for you to abandon everything?
I know it's not bad, but why can't I do nothing?
TELL ME TELL ME I WANT TO KNOW,
don't you know that this crappy delinquent always feels so low?
After all this time,
After screaming for so long,
You hear the depth of my voice,
What about my continuous melancholic song?
Can't you see it falling from my eyes?
Can't you see I'm tired of tossing the dice?
Constantly hoping to earn a six,
I'll pick the pieces up in order to fix.
I refuse to believe in cracks,
I will try, I'll try to give what it lacks,
But you can never give me back, the years I spent yearning in vain,
Even if you try to have a conversation with stories from the memory lane.
Distanced soul,
Unattached roles
How do you think it happened?
How do you know it's not for the best?
Because that's way she became her,
That's way of the youngest.

The weight of the world        is love. Under the burden        of solitude, under the burden        of dissatisfaction
the weight, the weight we carry        is love.

Labyrinth
Life is full of predicaments,
Labyrinths are the only road available.
Line your car with gas that spars
Long with the deadly turns that are viable.
Longing for straightforward success,
Laying out your failures that press.
Limp around giving a guess
Looking forward to new life that's not less.
Legends are complex and teach
Loyalty and friendship, but suppress
Liars that generate a great reach
Leaving them as villains that squeals.
Light up your life with loyals
Living through difficulties and prove
Logical in their enterprises
Letting the faithful mind make a move.

Many of the truths have been beautifully wrapped by God in the most perplexing of paradoxes. Just like me saying that the first step towards the deepest contentment is kept in your deepest dissatisfaction. As absurd as it may sound, to be deeply dissatisfied is the primary prerequisite if ever you wish to reach the station is contentment. You see, the world in which we live today is so full of pain, so full of misery, so full of anarchy, so full of injustice, so full of inequality - the list is almost endless. Only someone really cold blooded could actually sit there nodding his head to all of that as if all of that is perfectly fine and ok with him. No, not for the one who has even an atom weight of life left in his heart. To be deeply dissatisfied with one's living conditions and with the environment in which we exist is so very important because that is the very spark that will ignite the change. Even on a personal level, you aren't happy with the exploitative terms of your work, let it burn you. You aren't happy with the manipulative nature of your partner, let it burn you. Why should one settle for a lowly way of living? Why should one continue adopting the path of suffering in silence? When life happens only once, why should one be so self-limiting? You must be deeply dissatisfied with your own circumstances because that will become the very fuel with which you'll be able to initiate that bold step of coming out of your own prison. If the chains are truly wearing you down, if it is causing much agitation, then break forth. Let the pressure build up so much that there would be no other way but to burst forth. To rebel and oppose such a confined way of living is the stepping stone towards that life which you have been aspiring for - the sort of heavenly bliss on earth that's awaiting you. So to be truly content, one has to first be utterly dissatisfied with his present excruciating circumstances - that's the point from where you must begin. Be disgusted completely and from there take your first step towards your journey of contentment. Change one thing at a time!

is there any flowers/plants that symbolize or relate to discomfort and dissatisfaction? im trying to draw something for an art project and i wanted to draw plants/flowers in it that hold symbolism to them
Hey kookoojellyfish! Most of these mean either directly, but allow potential association because neither discomfort nor dissastifaction exist as single meanings here.
agnus castus – coldness, indifference
aloe – bitterness and pain, bitterness, grief, religious superstition
balsam (red) – impatient resolved, touch me not
bee ophrys – error
belvedere – I declare against you
bindweed (great) – insinuation, importunity
burdock – importunity, touch me not
convolvulus (major) – extinguished hopes
corchorus – impatient of absence
eglantine – I wound to heal, poetry
geranium (fish) – disappointed expectations
henbane – imperfection, fault, for males to attract love from females
hogbean – defect
hortensia – you are cold, carelessness
humble plant – despondency
ice plant – your looks freeze me, rejected addresses
lint – I feel my obligations
love-lies-bleeding – hopeless not heartless, deserted love, desertion
meadow sweet – uselessness
mimosa – sensitiveness, sensitivity
ranunculus (wild) – ingratitude
sorrel (wild) – wit ill-timed
straw (a single, broken) – dissension, rupture of a contract
sweetbrier (european) – I wound to heal, poetry, imagination
tiger-flower – for once may pride befriend me, cruelty
Discomfort could be represented by poisonous plants in art. They don’t mean it, but they most certainly cause it.

I can never answer this—it is the mystery of my life. Does my constant dissatisfaction with the love given to me proceed from my lack of confidence, or is it in reality less than what I give?

"We rush impetuously into novelty, driven by a mounting sense of insufficiency, dissatisfaction, and restlessness. We no longer live on what we have, but on promises, no longer in the light of the present day, but in the darkness of the future, which, we expect, will at last bring a proper sunrise. We refuse to recognize that everything better is purchased at the price of something worse."

the answer to the ask about dissatisfaction was fascinating but made me wonder what function/fix/instinct such a problem could be related to
First of all, I'll start and say every type can be prone to this kind of dissatisfaction. However, some types are more likely than other to create a pattern around dissatisfaction and are more prone to addictive tendencies. So, I'll highlight the likelihood to fall in that specific kind of perpetual dissatisfaction pattern.
Cognitive Functions: Pe and Je.
Why: Pe functions are all about exploration. They make us prone to try new things and drive us toward novelty. Therefore, being stuck with the same old shit will likely create dissatisfaction with anyone with Pe as lead or that have it integrated, since their psyche is consciously driven and craving for novelty and exploration. It will also therefore be prone to create a lot of "desires", and if they can't be attained, dissatisfaction will result. So, it's also more likely to make someone feel as if their needs are not met when in reality it's just that they have many conflicting desires that cover as needs.
In terms of addictive pattern, it is the most related and prone to fall for addiction because of the novelty driven. Biologically speaking, this novelty drive is linked with certain neurotransmitter linked with the feeling of pleasure, which is pivotal in addictive pattern. And so, Pe is more likely related to that Biological pattern as well, but I don't have proofs of that, so take it with a grain of salt.
Je is also prone to create this dissatisfaction since it's a very action oriented cognitive function. It creates goals and is relentless about succeeding at those goals. Therefore, failing to attain any goal it had in mind would be a massive blow and would create an even bigger urge to correct course and succeed at it. This also apply with the notion of desires, which can likely be confounded for needs, creating potential for dissatisfaction as not attaining every desire fuel this relentless and restlessness pursuit Je has.
Even with addiction, I have seen a lot of Je leads being addicts. This never ending quest for achievement lead them to seek ways to relieve all the tension it creates, or to seek ways to perform even more. Enneagram often works in conjunction here however, and those Je leads tend to either be standard (l---) dev or often have Pe integrated.
Ji can also be infinitely picky since it can be prone to Idealism, but it's almost more contemplative therefore less likely to actually be dissatisfied at getting whatever need met. It can create more dissatisfaction however as an integrated function in Pe and Je lead as it can instill bitter criticism and an eye for imperfection, seeing flaws everywhere and thus always feeling one step away from true fulfillment. On it's own tho, it's not driven into actualizing their perfect pristine towers of idealism, so the fact it isnt met in reality brings far less discontentment than Pe and Je types that do strive on the "external". So, I preferred to mention it.
And Pi is probably the most resistant to dissatisfaction since they can remain in the same comfort zone for long before finding an issue and a discomfort that would create dissatisfaction. Tho, Pi lead with integrated Je and/or Pe can become more prone to this dissatisfaction as the psyche has identified a need to share and actualize the Pi patterns into the "external". But overall, on their own they can easily stay into this Pi navigation mode without being too fussy about things not meeting those patterns.
Enneagram: Id core (3,7,8)
Why: Because those being related to the id complex (Freudian theory), they have learned to assert their way to get whatever they want because if they don't, their core issues get triggered. However, this creates types that also confound their desires for needs, since the core fear gets to be linked to the attainment of their desires as well. So, we get back to the same issue as above with cognitive function.
It leads to this perpetual quest for satisfaction, so they are by default on a sort of constant feeling of dissatisfaction as this hunt for this perpetual satisfaction is what makes them striving. Since enneagram types are about compulsions, they will be compulsive about those every desires and whim they will have.
Tho, the healthier the person, the least they are bound to the types compulsion. So, healthy 3,7,8 will be less in that state of dissatisfaction and perpetual quest for satisfaction.
Instinct: Sx.
Why: Because this instinct is based on attraction-repulsion dynamic, and the repulsion aspect is all about being dissatisfied with something. It strives on how much something satisfy it or doesn't, therefore it is more bound to dissatisfaction than its counterparts Sp and Soc. Its goal will also to instill the desire to pursue things it is attracted to relentlessly until it reaches its goal. Once reached, it will seek for the next. So it is a never ending chase of the next satisfying things, which comes back to the same issue as the functions and enneatype above.
But tbh, Soc and Sp can also totally create that sense of dissatisfaction as well. Instincts purpose is survival, so they will always instill a sense of "needing more or better" of whatever they care about to secure their core needs. Tho, I would argue the unhealthier, the more this dissatisfaction will occur, the healthier the more satiated and secure the person is. But that applies overall to cognitive function and enneatype as well.
__
In the end, chronic dissatisfaction is mainly the result of having poor coping skills and/or being in situations and environments that are deprived of opportunities for what we need to meet our needs. As a reminder, feeling dissatisfaction now and then is normal, it's a feeling we experience to inform us of needs unmet and that need our attention.
I hope it can be helpful, tho I don't advise to take this as a way to type. It's the reasoning behind that is telling of what is causing dissatisfaction. Any type can feel dissatisfied and chronically so.

I finally started to realise that spending time planning the future while you are struggling with the present is not always a good habit that serves your productivity.
More often than not, it is just a symptom of our procrastination, a vivid manifestation of our dissatisfaction with the current situation or with life in itself.
Planning what's to come, designing a perfect future, while ignoring what is going on in the imperfect present, it's like looking straight ahead of you not minding your step and completely ignoring the obstacles that are making you stumble, all of this while walking along the edge of a cliff.
