it's so crazy to me how many people don't know ocd gives you intrusive thoughts. that's literally the entire disorder. it's The intrusive thoughts disorder that's kinda it's whole thing
#it really shows how stigmatized ocd is though#like no it's not always about making sure everything is clean#sometimes it's making yourself dinner and looking down at your dog who is begging for food and immediately being assaulted with the very#distressing thought of violently stabbing your dog with a knife#and then being scared you'll somehow do it on accident and that you're a horrible person but you have to force yourself to continue making#dinner anyway but now making dinner has an extra step of surviving personally inflicted psychological warfare so it's an awful experience#was that a hyperspecific example? why yes. yes it was
