Bandai Japan Announces Digimon Color V-Pet Version 3, 4, & 5!
The Digimon Color is off to a very successful start. Just recently released back in February of 2023, Bandai Japan is adding even more to the lineup. Preorders are already available, and will close on May 18th, 2023 and will ship in September of 2023. Version 3 is available in original purple, version 4 in original clear red, and version 5 in original clear green!
You’ll be able to change the background and even get new backgrounds by connecting with others. USB-C rechargeable battery just like the Digimon Color v-pet V1, and V2. Programming of course will be different featuring new ultimates, and perfects can become ultimates!

Ultimates for version 3 include HiAndromon, Gokumon, BanchoLeomon, version 4 includes DarkDramon, BloomLordmon, Gankoomon, version 5 includes Mugendeamon, Raidenmon, Gaioumon. There will also be 3 bonus Digimon that you can get by connecting with 3 different new ones.

Bandai Japan Announces Digimon Color V-Pet V1 & V2
It’s finally here! After several teasers dropped by Bandai Japan on the Digimon website and social media profiles, the Digimon Color V-Pet is now official. To help celebrate the 25th anniversary of Digimon Bandai Japan has released the original Digimon V-Pet V1 and V2 in color! Although the Digimon Vital Bracelet is the first color screen Digimon device, this is truly the first Digimon v-pet that is in color! It’s giving us Tamagotchi Plus Color (TMGC+C) vibes from 2008!
There will be four color v-pets, which include two version 1 and two version 2 devices. V1 shells include brown and gray, where V2 shells include white and black.It is important to note that version 1 shells have the same content, and version 2 shells have the same content.
The new screen unlocks a world of color! Not only are the characters in color, but the entire display including the background, menu screens, and more. The background can be changed, and you can get the background of other versions by connecting with them.
Digimon Color can only connect to other Digimon Color devices, it is not possible to connect to other Digimon v-pets. The device features the same keychain design, but when you look at the bottom of the device there is a small flap where you can unveil the USB Type-C charging port at the bottom right-hand corner. Now that is modern! For comparison, the Tamagotchi Smart feature micro USB at this time. Bandai Japan notes that the device is the same exact size as the original, and modernization has not compromised the shape or size in any way!
The character lineup Is based on the original 18 Digimon per v-pet version 1 and version 2. ShinMonzaemon from Monzaemon in the V1, and Ebemon for Vademon in the V2. 17 characters are displayed, but one character in each version is hidden!
The training function you know and love is there in full color, and is of course different for V1 and V2 programming. There is also the single player battle system too, which does not require a partner. It’s just so nice to see the graphics in color!
Support functions have been enhanced, and are easier to play. These include faster breeding which helps your Digimon grow up faster. Cold mode, which will cause growth to stop and stomach and muscle strength will not decrease. Lastly, the backup system where you can save up to one Digimon training as a backup.
There’s even a bonus item! You’ll get a mini shikishi by Japanese designer Kenji Watanabe which features Tyranomon titled Digimon 25th Anniversary Shikishi Version Digimon Origin.

Preorders are now available on Premium Bandai Japan for ¥6,930, preorders are set to close on September 30th, 2022 and will ship in February 2023.

Premium Bandai USA Lists Digimon Color Version 3, 4, and 5 Preorders
Digimon fans in North America rejoice, Premium Bandai USA has listed preorders for the new Digimon Color version 3, 4, and 5! These were just recently announced by Bandai Japan back in mid April, with a ship date of September 2023 in Japan and it looks like Premium Bandai USA is matching that! That’s right, looks like they’ll ship to North America the same time, and retail at $60 USD. Be sure to get your preorders in!

Bandai Japan Thanks Digimon Color Owners & Explains Packaging + Wallpapers
In the latest Monmon Memo on the Digimon website Bandai Japan is thanking the Digimon fans who have purchased the recently released Digimon Color! That’s right, the first Digimon to be in color, feature a rechargeable battery, and USB-C connectivity!
Bandai Japan uses this Monmon memo to not only thank the fans, but also to review the packaging and how it has been reprinted from the original Digimon Color! They explain the styling and the foil stamping that is featured throughout the packaging as well. We really enjoyed the side-by-side comparisons of the packaging from the original.
Lastly, Bandai Japan reviews the background images and explains the significance of each one. What’s really unique is that the Digimon Color is a color version of the original, so it’s so interesting to see the spirits remain their pixelated selves, but in color. The wallpapers are very much retro themselves too.
They tease that the next memo to include more information about training, so that will be exciting! Have you gotten your hands on the Digimon Color yet?

Premium Bandai America Lists Digimon Color V-Pet V1 & V2 Preorders
Looking to get your hands on the Digimon Color v-pets? If you live in America, it just got easier. Although only officially announced by Bandai Japan, Premium Bandai America has listed preorders for the Digimon Color v-pet’s in both V1 & V2 shells!
It is important to note that the programming is identical to the devices being sold in Japan, so it has not been localized. There is minimal verbiage on screen, but it will be in the Japanese language. In the past Bandai usually includes a translated PDF manual on imported devices, but only time will tell.
Preorders are now available and are listed on Premium Bandai America for $60 USD and are set to close on Monday, October 31st, 2022. Once the preorders sell out, preorders will close. These preorders will ship in April 2023, which is two months after the official release in Japan.

Digimon Color Preorders Start Arriving!
When Bandai Japan announced the Digimon Color back in August, they set a release date of February 2023. Fans waited patiently for their preorders to ship, and it’s happening! We’ve seen many reports on social media of Digimon Color’s arriving in fans hands! Both V1 and V2’s in various shell colors are arriving to their new homes.
We’re also seeing the updated packaging for the first time, including the new Digimon Color logo, and the USB-C charging able being visible beneath the Digimon Color to emphasis it’s ability to be recharged.

Digital Monster 25th Anniversary Program Night 2 Showcases Digimon Color, SCSA D-Scanner, & Vital Bracelet BE
The 90 minute program aired on Friday, September 30th, 2022 on YouTube and reviewed all things Digimon to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of Digimon. The second episode focused on the upcoming Digimon Color which showed off some new graphics including the evolution of the Digimon characters that we will see hands-on with the Digimon Color.
Bandai Japan has also sped up the evolution process of the Digimon Color compared to the original version which launched back in 1997.
Second, Bandai Japan showed off the new SCSA D-Scanner and several functions. The device itself will come in Ultimate Red, and Ultimate Blue. The new color screen provides various graphics on screen and uses the built-in side buttons and buttons on the front of the device for navigation.
Lastly, a good amount of time was spent reviewing the Digimon Vital Bracelet BE that is now up for pre-order. Be sure to check out the full program here.

Bandai UK: Digimon Color Coming to UK in 2023
We love a global launch, and it appears that the UK is in luck. Bandai Shop UK, announced on their official Twitter and Instagram profiles that the Digimon Color v-pet that was just announced by Bandai Japan is set to be released in the UK in 2023! No word on if the device will be localized in the English language, but this is a huge deal!
The Bandai Shop UK does sell other imported products from Japan, so it might be selling the Digimon Color with original Japanese programming. We sure would love to see it localized in English, only time will tell. Who’s excited?

Digital Monster 25th Anniversary Video Showcases Digimon Color, Vital Bracelet BE & Pendulum Keychains
In a 90 minute, two part Digital Monster 25th anniversary video hosted by the mania/classroom crew covered all the new Digimon goodies, including some gameplay of the Digimon Color that has us drooling! The livestream was on YouTube, and has now been posted.
The crew explains how the Digimon Color v-pets recreates aspects of the original v-pets, while also making them easier and more friendly to use, and much more modern with a color screen, rechargeable battery, and a USB Type-C port to charge it! The video features some great shots of the Digimon Color, and some gameplay, DROOL!
Second, they review the 25th Anniversary Vital Bracelet set along with the companion Vital Bracelet arena application. The first all new raid begins on September 15th, 2022.
Lastly, Digimon is getting more Gashapon love too! Bandai Japan already had released the miniature Digimon v-pet Gashapon keychains back in June 2022. They’ve been so popular that Bandai Japan is set to release even more. This time they’ll be releasing the Digimon Pendulum series as miniature keychains. More information to follow on this shortly! UK: Magic Madhouse Lists Digimon Color
They told you the Digimon Color was coming to the UK, and it’s happening! Magic Madhouse, an online gaming store in the UK has announced that the Digimon Color is now available for preorder on their website.
All four shells are available for preorder, and are expected to be released in May, 2023! What’s funny is that Bandai UK has yet to released preorders on the Bandai Shop UK website.
