On this Day in random cartoon history, we met a too-hot-for-TV Silver Spoon parody in 1996, Bart used megaphones for hilarious purposes in 1997, the House of Mouse has a retro night in 2002, and Timmy loses control of his emotions in 2004. IMO, the Fairly OddParents episode is the best of the day. (I would’ve posted sooner, but uploading my next video was 🔥😈🔥)
It’s Simion from Dial M for Monkey (“Dexter’s Laboratory”, Cartoon Network)
“I deserve revenge for what they did to me. The pain…the horror…I was about to be the first monkey in space. The mission was disastrous. A crack from the space’s hull created an explosion that hurled me into a radioactive energy balance. I was exposed into gamma rays and changed for life. I became strong and amazingly intelligent. I began to build a new world. I expanded my knowledge and skill by meditation. Soon I could create matter by thought. And half a century. I built this entire space station from scratch. Now the time has finally come for my revenge on the hairless apes. For a making a guinea pig out of me.” — Simion
I’ve been rewatching one of my favorite CN shows online and I enjoyed its original spinoffs like Dial M for Monkey — this classic episode gives me “Planet of the Apes” vibes! 🐒🙈 Simion is such a great character especially having a great character development (for a few minutes, lol 😂😂) despite appearing once on the show. And that’s why I drew him! Kudos to Maurice LaMarche for his performance of the character! 💯
