#draws#warrior cats#dovewing#ivypool#dovewing still has her powers and all that but the df decides to manipulate her instead. seeing how she could be a lot of use to them#she knows what she's doing by siding with them because she resents being part of a prophecy against her will#along with other things like lion and jay looking down at her. feeling replaced by hollyleaf etc#and is like well at least i'm liked for who i am here. and by the time she realises they're using her as well she's kinda in too deep#turned one of the prophecy cats against them. she gets redeemed in the end though because i heart her#idk what role ivypool would play in this au maybe she still spies by sneaking into the df since dovewing probably wouldn’t do it

mysterious lotus casebook introduces qiao wanmian as li xiangyi's ex-lover who clearly has some lingering sadness over their relationship still, and you think, "oh, she's going to be the woman who waited and stayed loyal to him for a full decade and never stopped thinking he'd come back (to her)". great. that's... great. and THEN. you find out that in actuality, a-mian did an admirable job of getting her shit mostly together and she's moved on. sure, she still misses li xiangyi (and honestly she missed what he represented to her more than him as a partner) but she's got a steady livelihood going and another man at her side who, up until he started being a dick, she didn't regret being with.
and after that, you realize. you know who spent ten years frozen in time and thinking about li xiangyi? who cannot let go of the memory of him even when they've been told he's dead? who's described as clingy in canon and still hounds him in the present at every turn about their past relationship? di fei-fucking-sheng. the narrative turned a-fei into the yearning lover left behind, complete with relationship metaphor. ''the moon that year wasn't as bright as today'' to "the bright moon has already sunk into the western sea". this show made li xiangyi di feisheng's literal baiyueguang so that a-mian could go live her best life getting what she deserved, and not be bothered by whatever template role she'd have been stuck in otherwise. everyone say thank you to mlc

Starclan:
Gold Outline
White Iris/Pupil
Paws leave starry flames that match the color of the sclera
Dark Forest:
Red Outline
Pupil/Iris becomes color of the ORIGINAL design’s sclera
Sclera, Teeth, and Claws are dark purple. Paws leave puddles of the same color.
*EYES BECOME SOLID COLORS—NO SHADING/HIGHLIGHTS
*I did this with Ashfur as he is the only cat (??) that has been in both starclan and the df and I’m too lazy to make versions for every cat 💀.
*The idea I wanted to go with is DF is more colorful to contrast the dark water n sky (but there r red lights n blue mushrooms? Idk) and that starclan is more monotone and made of primarily gold and white (colors typically associated with celestial beings and ghosts). Also, fire to contrast water. Yea. Hope this all makes sense 😭

Currently attempting to draw Di Feisheng in his outfit in the extra beach scene, and I don't think we talk enough about how much red Di Feisheng himself wears. There's a joke in the Chinese fandom about how Jiao Liqiao wears red all the time as if she's constantly prepared for marrying Di Feisheng if necessary, but like, Lao-Di himself wears so much red in the show too, as if he's also constantly prepared to marry Li Lianhua himself. Like if he'd actually found Li Lianhua on the beach that day, not even censorship could've stopped him from marrying Li Lianhua then and there.
