today was like any normal day. when there was no lessons to attend to, no errands to run, just a normal day sleeping in the dorm. [name], in the midst of the early morning, could be found in the dorm's kitchen, cooking something nutritious that he and his other three idiots friends could eat.

he'd hum a quiet tune, his gaze focused on the eggs that slowly turned white in the pan, not yet realizing somebody walking down the stairs and into the kitchen, but a loud yawn did catch his attention.

"Mrah? Oh, henchman! You're up early..." the tired grim spoke, his tiny paws rubbing his eyes as he jumped onto the counter, wanting to see what the male was cooking.

"Hm, good morning, Grim. Are the others awake?" [name] inquires, placing the cooked eggs onto a plate as he grabs the pack of raw ham, given generously by Sam at his shop.

"Mm, no." "Ah, well could you go and wake 'em up for me?" [name] queries, placing a few slices into the pan, listening to the satisfying sound of it sizzling.

"Ugh... fine, but only because I get an excuse to hit Ace on the face." and with that, the small creature ascends back up the stairs, followed with a loud scream from ace and deuce, who soon enough chased the weasel down the stairs.

"Get back here, you stupid raccoon!" ace exclaims, chasing grim around the lounge along with deuce, who soon stops when he notices [name] cooking in the kitchen.

"Ah, morning, [Name]. What're you makin'?" deuce walks up behind the [h/c] boy, peering over his shoulder to see what was in the pan. "Eggs and ham. You think you can make some toast for us?"

deuce nods silently, grabbing bread from the cabinet and placing two into the toaster. he'd wait patiently for the bread to pop out of the toaster, having small conversations with the [h/c].

ace soon walks into the kitchen, holding grim from his neck as the latter would scratch at his hand, causing the red-head to hiss and yell at the weasel. "Oi, [Name]! Control your stupid cat here!"

"I'm not a cat! I am the Great Grim! Unhand me now!" [name] merely ignores the two, grabbing out the last few slices of ham out of the pan and placing them on another plate.

"Deuce, mind bringing some plates for us and the toast, please?" he'd grab the plate of eggs, walking past his two bickering friends and sparing his blue haired friend a glance before leaving the kitchen and walking into the lounge.

"Uh, yeah sure," deuce grabs the other slices of toast out of the toaster, placing them on a side plate before grabbing four other plates, heading into the lounge after the [h/c]. all the while ace and grim continued fighting with each other.

but the two soon joins in, hair and fur completely ruffled and a mess as they take a seat down on the ground as far away from each other as possible. "Mm, the food looks good! Nice job, [Name]!"

ace would complement, dishing out some ham and egg onto his plate, grabbing a toast as well as he takes a bite, a hum of satisfaction erupting from him.

"Yeah, maybe you could make me a delicious tuna sandwich, henchman!" grim pitches in, his paws reaching out to take a slice of ham before devouring it.

"Right, anyways, what do you think you got on Crewel's assignment?" [name] suddenly brings up, taking a bite of his toast as he spares the three a short glance.

ace groans in annoyance, simply rolling his eyes as he takes another bite of his food, "Ugh, don't even remind me. I don't wanna think about it." "Well, I bet I got an easy 100!" grim speaks up, a smug grin etched onto his lips.

"Oh, please, your barely passing his class." "Says you, Deuce, you get straight D's, I don't wanna hear you talk about me not passing!" [name] sighs as deuce and grim begin to bicker this time. ace leans back, staring at the [h/c].

"What about, [Name]? What d'you think you got?" [name] hums in thought, tapping his index finger onto the table, "Maybe and 80? I asked Azul and Riddle for help, so I'd hope I get something higher than a 70."

"What!? You cheater! You got Riddle to help you out?" ace and grim yell out in unison, eyes widened in shock. "And Azul didn't make you sign a contract for it?" deuce pitches in, equally shocked as the other two.

"Mhm. I made a promise to Riddle that I'd make him a strawberry tart, as well as helping Cater out with painting the roses for the next unbirthday party. As for Azul... well, I owe him a favor, so, no contracts needed for it."

"Ah, lucky. Though, I probably wouldn't ask that octopus for help. He'd force me to sign a contract, and I learned from my mistakes." ace would say gloomily, grabbing another slice of ham.

"Yeah, and if I were to ask Riddle for help, he'd chew me out for not understanding..." deuce mutters, equally as gloomy as he slowly chews his food.

"Ugh, [Name]! Why couldn't you have taken me with you so they could've helped me out too!?" grim exclaims, huffing out as his small paws slam against the table.

"Hm? I told you, but you said you could do it yourself. Besides, who was the one that said they got an 'easy 100' just a minute ago?" [name] responds, grabbing another egg and eating it.

"Hey! Don't use my words against me!" grim yells, exclaiming a loud groan of annoyance as he lays his body on the floor.

"Hah... whatever, at least I know I'm not the only one who probably failed..." deuce would say, leaning his body against the couch as he was seemingly finished with his food.

"Oi, don't lump me in with you and this guy, I never said I failed, I just didn't want to think about that stupid assignment." ace grumbles, glaring at the blue haired boy as he points down at the beastman who laid still on the floor.

"Ace, you barely pass Crewel's class either, I think it's fair that Deuce can lump you in with him and Grim." [name] would say, playfully rolling his eyes as he grabs the dirty dishes and heading into the kitchen.

"Huh?! What's that supposed to mean?" "Yeah, henchman! Explain yourself!" "I said what I said. You're all idiots."

"Huh?!"

Twist characters and how they cuddle!

I haven't written in a while, and recently got rehyperfixated on twist (Sorry everyone) SO HERE IS A BIG GENERAL HEADCANON FOR A:: OUR BOYS!! It can be taken platonic or romantic EXCEPT! For ortho, platonic only with the baby or be blocked. Starting with heartslabyul and move on from there!

Heartslabyul

Riddle: I believe he is touch starved, and only focusing on studying instead of childhood things can be the result of it. I like to think he loves being held close to his S/O's chest, hearing their heartbeat as he relaxes after a hard day. Bonus! He also likes being the little spoon and leaning against someone while studying!

Trey: I believe he would be the big spoon or holding his S/O however they like, mostly because he is the oldest child, so it's like a default for him to hold someone close and be the giver. Bonus! He does however enjoy being the little spoon or his head cradled after a busy day, or when his head hurts, having his S/O just gently play with his hair makes him relax.

Cater: I Vastly enjoy the mental image of Cater preferring to cuddle close to his S/O's stomach or thighs, and fiddling with his phone, or letting S/O mess with his hair as he relaxes.

Bonus! He loves cuddling close to his S/O's neck and shoulder and just hiding his face there, especially with low mental health days.

Deuce: He tries to be the giver, but he is a softie and loves being held. Just hug him and nuzzle into him and he just melts and becomes a huge baby. Do it in front of Ace and you get a cuddle pile!

Bonus! He will tuck himself into his S/O's side, dozing in and out of sleep while rambling about things he did in his dorm or just during the day in general.

Ace:

BASTARD! STINKY STINKY MAN! YOU WANT TO CUDDLE? EARN IT! He enjoys fighting with his S/O(playfully) when they try to cuddle him. Want to sit and relax? Too bad! His S/O is now on the floor fighting for their life, Ace giggling above them! He cuddles them eventually, laying on their chest while scrolling through social media.

Bonus! The best Ace cuddles are sleepy Ace cuddles. Get him well and tired, and he will just nuzzle into his S/O’s shoulder, murmuring little things here and there.

Leaving NRC hc

Okay, so, we all know that Yuu/MC have to fight, like, one time by month against Overblot of people.

And you can't tell me this haven't traumatized him.

And what if the MC is tired of that ? Overblot ? Being traumatized ? Crowley ? What if he leave ?

This is how i think Ace, Deuce, and Riddle will react if the MC leave without a word.

!!Male reader, he/him pronouns are used, headcanon, MC is Grim father figure (like in the canon)!!

MC was tired.

Not the "i'm tired, I need to sleep." But the "I'm tired I need to die."

He had traveled to another world, a world unknown to him. And no one told him what this world was, what it was like, he had to learn everything with the hard way.

And he hate this.

Hate that they didn't see that he's hurt.

Hate that he look his best even when he's not.

He hate that they all make attention at what he look like and not how he is mentally.

Hate having to live the overblot, only for some little problems.

They were traumatized, okay, but was it really a reason for traumatized him back ?!

Fuck ! He had all the reasons to overblot, to have a revenge, but he don't do it !

Twisted Wonderland was one of the worst thing that had happen to him.

Nobody give a fuck about what he live. And Crowley don't try to make him back home.

He was just tired.

Sometimes, MC was thinking about just.. leave.

Leave that place, or even leave that live. Not by killing himself, well, not always, but by making a new identity.

If Crowley don't help to find a way for his home, then MC will have to do his research.

And like that, MC and Grim (MC didn't want to abandon his child, he's a good father) had leave NRC without saying a word to anyone.

Timeline: Ambiguous, but it's at least during Chapter 5. Nobody is known to have any animosity in this writing.

Ace and Deuce are as close as two could ever be, and yet they are as fiery as any Savanaclaw members could ever be when together. The brazen Ace Trappola can get on the nerves of the spitfire Deuce Spade any day at any time, but you can see the rivalry from day one.

Ace, at first, claims he's always so discourteous because Deuce was just some goody-goody who can't let loose. Deuce, at first, claims he's always so mistrustful of Ace because he's far too loud and flippant. Still, even after all this time, they still claim this while eating together at breakfast... lunch... dinner... Unbirthday Parties...

It's obvious to some they have feelings for each other like Trey or Cater, but some are caught by surprise when they are a known couple... like Riddle. It's mostly a shock to everyone, simply because of predetermined thoughts of monogamy, when Deuce first calls you a romantic nickname for the first time.

It sends a shock through anyone who's listening, but thankfully Deuce isn't the type to say anything without you there. You can see everyone's faces go between perplexed, shocked, and stupefied. This was an ice breaker for them, and you know that Deuce was just as nervous as you were while letting it slip when discussing your relationship with Deuce's upperclassmen.

With Ace also later backing you up (he had to go to a tutoring session) it didn't take long for other's to understand your all dating. Nothing wrong with that, and basically the only thing Riddle might slap your wrist for is PDA in the halls.

If your the rambunctious and flirty type, you most definitely have been yelled at for PDA in the halls at least once. So you know at least Riddle gives you no special treatment after his Overblot, even if he's a lot nicer. You might be collared (even with/without magic) if you do it more then twice to either of them, though.

Visiting Ace during basketball club hours can see you getting teased by Floyd as you come in the double doors first thing. "Crabbie, your boyfriend is here~!" If Deuce comes in after at anytime, Floyd will chuckle evilly as he jokes more. He'll repeat, "Crabbie, your [other] boyfriend is here~!" Jamil, if he sees you or Deuce first, just pauses practice unless their already on the field. Practice first, break later.

You and Ace joining Deuce for his club activity it far less eventful as Jack is already apart of your friend group and is generally pretty calm about most things. Seeing you both in the stands, Deuce will send a wave and Jack a nod as they continue practice. Afterwards, Deuce will lean on the bleachers to look up at you and Ace, and he'd willingly take slight teases that he needs a shower ASAP from Ace.

"Henchmen, you'll not kick me out of our room for those two chumps, right?!" Grim will ask one day as the other two plan to stay the night. You'll have to assure him that it's your room (plural), a joint room. "Good! Good... ! But if Trappola pulls that dumb line of sharing a bed again, I'll kick him out myself!"

Definitely, if you can cook for yourself, they'd buy a bit of groceries for you whenever they can. They know you get food from the store and/or the cafeteria, but sometimes they want to pitch in just to help. It's never much because they're freshman that probably would save money for future expenses... but if you want anything specific after your shop run, they'll buy it for a dinner date.

They will be around Ramshackle more often for more then just study dates and the occasional dinner dates, and you can bet that Deuce gets you and Ace on a Blastcycle before long to go the the beach. He tells you both this is his "vent" spot, and now, you all can share these memories here together. Overall, it's fun, as long as you don't get caught by Crowley.

Then again it could be because hes asleep when its break time and no one can wake him up

And then right as your in the road again hes up and says he has to go to the bathroom

She gets bored pretty easily and likes to color in the car

She brought her a few plushies and plays with them, or talks to them, telling them how pretty the view is, that she's hungry, etc.

She likes to imagine something running outside like we all used to do, whether it be a superhero or a wolf, shell giggle and cheers it on

She's a child she's going to need regular bathroom breaks and ask for more snacks and a drink when you do stop

She falls asleep during the last few hours as well, you're going to have to carry her out of the car or gently wake her up and then carry her

She's pretty fun entertainment and very good at keeping things interesting so she is actually really good to go on a road trip with

Delinquent and Pretty Bo... simp?

(Pre-TWST) Deuce Spade x m!reader

< use of swearing, violence (delinquent stuff, but fight scenes...hard) >

Deuce Spade isn’t a name that you would associate with kindness. He’s a delinquent, to put it to simple words. He’s rough with people, barely cares about rules, and an overall rude person to begin with.

From the opposite side, (y/n) (l/n). A model student; the student council president, ranked number one when rankings came out and has been compared at times with the descendant prince of Snow White.

Deuce knows about him, who wouldn’t? Though he never had any beef with the guy. He never intervened with Deuce’s delinquent life, nor has he reported any of his friends. All that he’s done is make a good face for the school, creating different events that draws in attention, and money for the school.

Not a single person would think that their worlds would cross, the only possible being a rivalry between the model student and the delinquent. Even Deuce himself couldn’t think of any world where they could be friends, that is until that day came.

As usual, Deuce got into another fight behind his school. The only difference is that he’s losing in this one. His whole gang is busted as well, the few remaining ones ran away. There were still about two people left, one of them walking towards the blonde delinquent with a sinister smile.

Deuce could see his mouth moving, probably saying cheesy lines like “You’re done now,” or “This is over, you can’t run.” He’s just hoping that any kind of medical bills won’t be expensive for his mother.

It was when his vision started to blur when he sees a baseball bat hitting the delinquent causing him to fall. One of the rival gang’s member came to help his friend but ends up getting kicked in the stomach before the figure punched him.

The injured person didn’t fall yet, launching a strong punch to them only for the figure to dodge, grabbing his beck and smashing him to the nearby wall. Possibly causing a crack on the poor wall.

Deuce’s eyesight is fucking horrible right now, but he could see the figure running up to him. He thought that they’ll do the same thing to him, causing broken bones or an even expensive hospital bill. Only for the figure to wrap his arm around their neck, helping him walk.

He could hear them talk slightly, albeit the ringing in his ears blocking out most of the words. The person’s voice is coherent enough for him to recognize it. Deuce was focusing on their voice to the point where he didn’t realize they’ve arrived at the infirmary.

The nurse isn’t here, as usual. Afterschool to avoid delinquents like him barging into her office, she already went home or is somewhere else in the school.

The figure who carried him here quickly placed Deuce on one of the beds, scrambling away to look for medical supplies around. It’s here where the ringing in Deuce’s ear and his eyesight slowly went back normal, or at least normal enough for him to understand his surroundings.

Deuce slowly sat up, albeit a stinging pain on his stomach made it painful. From inside the room he sees his savior; (y/n) (l/n). The honor student seems fidgety nervous; much different than how he usually is when in front of the whole school.

Right as he got up from the cabinets, holding multiple medical supplies, he noticed Deuce looking at him. “Don’t move much, it’ll be painful!” he scolded, rushing to the delinquent to sit beside him.

“Give me your arm,” (y/n) requested. Deuce wanted to retort back, though with the state he’s in he’s not sure he’ll be able to fight back. So he reluctantly do as he’s told. (y/n) got to patching him up in an instant, for a guy who’s trying not to panic he’s doing a good job patching him up.

When he’s done with his arm, (y/n) discarded the dirty cotton used to clean Deuce’s wounds. “Ah, your stomach is hurt right?” right when he’s about to patch the supposed wound on his stomach, he paused for a moment.

“...do you need my help or can you do it yourself?” Deuce raised an eyebrow. He doesn’t care much for the student council president, but his actions seems different than how he is usually.

“I can do it m’self,” he huffed, “where are my friends?”

(y/n)’s memory suddenly returned to him. The rush of adrenaline gone as he briefly explained, “they’re probably caught by security by now.” He sighed, “as the council’s president, I should’ve stopped the fight before it began. But I was unfortunately late... again.”

“But you saved my ass,” Deuce spat out, leaning against the infirmary’s rough metal bedframe. “Owe ya one.”

“Yeah, right,” (y/n) trailed, his eyes accidentally drifting to the clock as he’s once again reminded of the time. “Do you need a lift home? With that wound, walking would hurt.”

Deuce brushed it off with a ‘tch’, standing up and walking towards the door, albeit with a limp, “I can handle m’self. Go do your work, president.”

The delinquent left (y/n) in the infirmary. He wanted to help Deuce walk, or even escort him to the entrance. Though he feels like doing something else would cause in better results.

After the strange first encounter, Deuce occasionally sees the council’s president. Usually in the infirmary, as he ends up helping the delinquent with his wounds. Again.

It was around this time when Deuce heard the phone call that made him rethink his entire decisions so far. His mother cried due to his delinquency. He made his mother cry.

The sentence made his poor heart shatter. Deuce didn’t care about what happens to him, whether it’ll be getting beaten up to a pulp or punching another guy for causing troubles with him. What he did care about is his mother, and when reality hits him he couldn’t bare the thought of disappointing his mother again.

So after a long while of thinking; he decides he would change. The Deuce that’s known as a delinquent would soon be known as the honor student! Though transforming from a feared delinquent to an honor student isn’t an easy task, so Deuce asked someone perfect to help him...

“Tutoring?” (y/n) questioned, not sure the words he's hearing is right.

Deuce nodded. This is a rare sight; the blonde hotheaded delinquent bowing down to the student council’s president. Deuce had requested (y/n) to tutor him ‘the honor student’s ways’ as he puts it.

“Y’re the only one I know who I can rely on, so please help me!” Deuce practically begged. Looking up towards the boy with hopeful eyes.

(y/n) felt heat creeping from the back of his neck, opting to place his palms on it. “Yeah sure, we can start tomorrow after my meeting,” Deuce’s eyes beamed at the offer. Bowing down multiple times again to say his thanks before bolting out of the hallway.

“Why’s the president late?”

Right as the student council member said that, the door to the meeting room is opened by said president. He didn’t speak. (y/n) simply sat on the couch, grabbed a pillow and dove his face into it.

“Simping, he was simping,” another member answered. The whole student council are used to this sight. Most of the students wouldn’t believe if they said that the school’s honor student and heartthrob frequently gets flustered by just one delinquent guy.

“he’ssocutewhenheboweddownandhiseyesaresobrightmyheartcan’ttakeit,ican’tpleaseican’t,” (y/n) spoke, but it felt like incoherent rapping or mumbling.

The vice-president sat down beside the guy, though her face seems more judging than relating to him. “With how much you’ve done for him, just confess at this point, dumbass.”

(y/n) gave her a deadpan look, “what’s that suppose to mean?”

The whole student council sighed internally. “As if we don’t know! You cover up for him all the time!” one of the members pointed out. Making their president slightly offended, as if he doesn’t know what he’s doing.

“Shortened suspensions and detention, threatening rival gangs to not see him, distracting staff so he’ll escape trouble, announcing events right after he’s done something wrong, paying for most of his property damage,” the vice president listed, causing (y/n) to sink further into the couch in embarrassment. And for being exposed for using his power for personal gain...

“Do I need to list more?” she asks, a terrifying glare making him feel flustered.

“No, I think that’s enough....”

Like, he doesn't have time for romance, you know? He is busy studying and in general he is a free guy. NO YOU DIDN'T SEE HE STARING AT YOU THE WHOLE LESSON, THAT'S A LIE

He won’t understand until the very end that his feelings for you are not platonic at all.

Is he holding you by the shoulders? Well, yes, we are friends. Is he constantly in your personal space? Pfft, what's wrong with that?

Does he have a disgusted look on his face when unfamiliar students approach you? He doesn’t know them, what if they’re bad?

This man will literally always be with you, no matter when or where.

Are you going to lunch? Is he with you. Do you need to go to the library to do homework? He will complain, but at the same time he never left behind you while you were walking.

You're the first person he always invites to his basketball game.

Like, you know, he can play and the moment he hears how you support his team and himself, his desire to win increases three times.

He finally understands his feelings after other people pointed out your closeness with him several times. His reaction is “of course we are close, we are best friends” and at the moment he literally “..we are close 🫢😶😳”

Now the troublemaker begins to notice that everything connected with you is important to him

The gears in his field are like this 🔁 and he understands that the desire to be close, hug, kiss, hold, make you smile are not platonic feelings at all.

He's the kind of guy who will randomly look at you and literally be like: Deuce.exe doesn't answer. You 100% caught this look on yourself. You could even stare back for a while until Deuce realized it and turned his head away at the speed of light.

He thanks the seven because you never talk about it

He would rather die than answer the questions “why are you staring?” YOU DEFINITELY SAID ONCE SOMETHING LIKE “do you like what you see?” the boy couldn't speak or look at you for a couple of weeks.

He also 100% told his mom about you when he called her and she could also tease him, because he didn’t even notice what exactly he was talking about you and then he just sat there with a red face looking at the floor

I think he realized his feelings at the moment when you were in your dorm and in silence doing your own thing. Have you heard that people become 100% more handsome when they go about their business with complete confidence and skill? Exactly this moment.

The boy literally didn’t take his eyes off you and didn’t say a word while he looked at you. Do you have to be so charming?

Please don't ask why he's red, he 's ready to get up and run away right now.

From that moment on, he understands that his heart beating too quickly and the desire to be closer are not platonic.

HE CALLS MOM IMMEDIATELY (if the time is not later) he absolutely does not know what to do in this situation. Fortunately, his mother calms him down and says that he should confess to you. You’re one of the only beastmen in Ignihyde - and you’re okay with that. It gets a little lonely at times but that’s nothing new for an Ignihyde student. People mind their own business, you mind yours. And the only friends you have, in this case the Shroud brothers, basically forget that you’re different from the others. Days are hardly interesting, despite the college’s many atrocities - or maybe because, and now you’re desensitized.

Until one day, you spot a creature, all feline-like and sitting on someone’s shoulder. Okay, not the weirdest thing you’ve seen at NRC so far, so you’re about to shrug it off. Then you see it; a tail and a pair of ears that are eerily similar to your own. What’s next, it can manipulate fire as freely as you do?

“Hey guys, I’ve got a new trick up my sleeve. Watch this!”

One thing you didn’t expect for it to have something in common with you is that it can talk. Though maybe you should be less surprised, considering even the paintings on the walls can talk in this place. But still. You forget that you should be expecting something from the words it just spouted and are caught off guard when it starts spewing fire next. This creature is way too talented at throwing out stuff from its mouth, you think as you jump out of the way just in time to avoid being burnt to a crisp.

“Grim, you can’t just spit fire whenever you want to! We’ve been over this!”

A redheaded student in front of you starts to scold the creature whose name is Grim apparently. He looks familiar but you can’t quite put your finger on it-

“You’re just jealous, Ace.”

Oh, you feel like Idia’s talked about this Ace person before. He described him as “crafty” and seemed to think of him as some sneaky extrovert but you’ve learnt to not put much faith in Idia’s descriptions of other people. No offense to your friend but at least he’s somewhat self-aware of how anxious he gets around others.

“I definitely am not??? This is the same thing that almost got us expelled, you know!”

You feel like you may also have heard of a group of first years almost getting expelled until they somehow got their hands on a magestone the headmage told them to get, as if you can just swing by a store and buy one. You know how hopeless Headmage Crowley and dumping a lot of work on a bunch of freshmen is in character but you can't help but feel disappointed anyway.

“I can’t believe I’m saying this but I agree. You really have to learn how to keep your pride in check…”

Another student, blue-haired and you assume is Ace’s friend, chimes in on the scolding. The student whose shoulder Grim has made himself at home only shook their head, most likely accustomed to his behavior. You watch them bicker as you ruminate on the resemblance of that strange creature to you.

After a few minutes of thinking (and walking so that you don't lose them), you decide that the fact that you were almost a victim of Grim’s flames is strong enough of an excuse to allow you to approach the friend group.

“Hey. You four.”

They turn around to notice you finally (though you can hardly blame them – save for Idia and his glow-in-the-dark-esque hair, Ignihyde students are not noticed as much). It takes them a second to realize that you're no ordinary student. When they do, their jaws fall open, letting out a wild “Huh?!”.

Grim himself jumps off the quiet student's shoulder and stands on his two feet. The day is getting crazier and crazier the longer you entertain this coincidence. He then points at you and begins his bullshit-spewing again.

“W-Who are you?! And why do you look like me?!”

You should be asking the same questions right now but the lack of answers for them makes any word on the tip of your tongue die before they can escape. Plus, the way he's saying his words sound more accusatory than you’d like to admit.

“Don’t look at me! I'm just like this!”

Grim doesn't seem satisfied by your answer and honestly, you can't blame him. You both are quite confused by what's happening at the moment. You two resort to unconsciously recreating the two-Spidermen-pointing-at-each-other meme. The other three students also seem to be at a loss from what they're witnessing.

Ace Trappola

He would laugh at Grim and point out how he's not special anymore but he's too stunned to even say anything (at least for now)

He looks you up and down again then pinches himself to make sure he’s not hallucinating

He feels like he should be less surprised and that the uncanny resemblance could just be passed off as a coincidence but he has to admit, seeing you two as not brothers may prove to be a little difficult for him

He gets used to you two over time and stops questioning it altogether. Sometimes he even forgets

At times, he’d poke fun at Grim and say how you two are way too different personality-wise to even be correlated in some way

But deep down, he’s happy for Grim he found someone similar to him

He won’t say that aloud obviously.

Deuce Spade

His eyes dart from you to Grim then you again. This goes on for a minute

He almost asks you if you can also breathe fire so recklessly

He ends up interrogating you, like a parent doing a background check on the friend you just brought home

Sooner or later, he concludes that you two are “bros”, despite not having the same feline characteristics

He’s glad Grim found his long-lost brother (he gets a smack from Grim for this)

He would notice how Grim’s smiles oftentimes are wider when you’re around, probably feeling some kind of kinship with you

And he gets that - since you all are “bros” now, he’s more than willing to have your backs now

After sorting things out with the freshmen, you return to your cave like the nerd that you are, feeling more exhausted than usual. To your surprise, you also return to two nerds being in said cave. A Shroud brothers ambush is not something that happens too often.

“Hey (Y/N). We decided that your place needs trashing. Also Ortho wants to try out this new game he found but it needs at least three players.”

Sounds about right. The geeks are geeking out as usual, just at your place this time. But you need them to hear about how crazy today was. You open your mouth to say something-

“I tried to convince him to get Azul but you know how stubborn my brother is.”

Ortho cuts you off and you force a nervous chuckle as a response. You agree but you should really get this off your chest-

“Hm? Did you guys hear something~?”

Idia teases and it brings a genuine laugh out of you and Ortho. Then you take a deep breath and release it. Third time’s the charm, right? You try again.

“Listen, you two. You wouldn’t believe what happened today.”

They perk right up at the promise of gossip (specifically, gossip related to you). You jump a bit from the excitement, finally glad you got their attention. Your hands start to gesture while you tell today’s story.

“I found this… cat. His name is Grim? He has the exact same ears and tail that I do! And he can breathe fire too! Except he does it with no regards to his surroundings whatsoever. That’s kinda concerning.”

Idia Shroud

“You saw wittle Gwimmy??? Man, I’m so jealous… I’ve been in need of some cat therapy for a while now…”

By the sound of it, he already knows who he is. You gasp dramatically at this, feeling betrayed at the fact he never told you about him

He tells you to chill and simply excuse that he didn’t think it was that important or anything

Of course, at first he was shocked but then he pondered about the coincidence - concluded that weirder things have happened and can happen

You’re unamused by this but it is very Idia. You suppose if you have a curse where it burns blot in your body nothing can really be seen as weird

Still, he entertains the possibility of you having a non-human distant cousin

If he isn’t already so nerdy, it feels like he’s growing a second brain trying to theorize what your relation to Grim is…

Ortho Shroud

Also already knows who he is. This truly is a Shroud brothers ambush… of betrayal at that

Theatrics aside, you try to pry him for further information and maybe explain how you and Grim may be related

“Sorry (Y/N), I’d love to help but Grim has been avoiding both of us for a while now. Whether that’s intentional or not, I’m not sure, but I sure wish I was with you when you ran into him. I’m sure I could’ve gotten some valuable information from him!”

You have your doubts about that.

While you keep things to yourself, Ortho provides you with Grim’s surface level information - which is basically nothing

So you two vow to get closer to Grim; even with the ulterior motive, it doesn’t hurt to have more friends Idia would beg to differ

Grim-like traits aside, it’ll be eye-opening to him to see if you two are similar in any regard at all - whether it be from your healing presence to your dazzling smile.

The next morning, you walk to your first class of the day: History of Magic. A fairly interesting class regardless of your stance on the subject. Professor Trein goes on and on about something, you write things down in your notebook. Your eyes are on Lucius for half of the class too. Your mind is still stuck on the events of yesterday. You feel like you’d be reminded of Grim any time you lay your eyes on anything feline - including yourself.

At last, class is dismissed. As much as you enjoy the class and genuinely like Professor Trein, you can’t help but feel that classes are dragged out way too much in this college. You pack up your things and you leave around the same time the professor does. So when Grim comes running and tackles you to the hallway floor, he’s there to witness it all.

“Hey twin! Wanna have lunch with us later? You’ll be seating with us cool kids!”

As you try to regain your composure over being literally knocked over and the fact that Grim has already warmed up to you, Professor Trein attempts to comprehend the scene unfolding before him.

Mozus Trein

Yes, of course he needs to scold Grim over misbehaving for the umpteenth time that week, but he’s also in awe of how… similar you and Grim look.

If he’s seen either of you before, whether in vicinity of each other or not, he’s never noticed blame it on the old grandpa eyes

People (and creatures now too, accounting for Grim’s being here) of your traits and abilities are far and few between

As much as he’d like to inquire you two on your ancestries (and their possible connection), he does respect your privacy

He always liked having you in his class but now, he finds himself looking out for you more often, a way to put his energy from his curiosity about you into something else

He’d ask you about your day and jokingly ask how your relationship with your long-lost brother is doing as if he’s not acting like a dad himself

Needless to say, he’s definitely your favorite teacher now.

You accept Grim’s offer for whatever reason and have lunch with the “cool kids”. You feel a little out of place at first, hanging out with people who aren’t the Shrouds, but then you start having lunch with them every other day. Then you start visiting Ramshackle Dorm where Grim is staying and spend time with the others there. At some point, you brought the Shrouds along and they would bring their games.

Suddenly, you know a lot of people. You think to yourself how crazy friendships start. You go from not knowing their name to knowing what they named their pet rock when they were a child. And in Grim’s case, you went from pointing at each other confusingly to pointing at each other for stealing each other’s food.

For the record, he definitely stole your pudding first.
