tips for deer

antler headbands! there are *so* many ways to make these!

practice quadrobics in gaits that feel familiar!

wear things like faux suede, it looks and feels like a deer pelt!

do makeup with very soft looks and “doe-eye” eyeliner!

make little freckles with brown eyeliner to be like fawn speckles!

get/make shoes with hoofs on the bottom!

do black lipstick on your upper lip to look more deerlike, and play with contouring too!!

let yourself be quiet and gentle, but incredibly protective of loved ones, like a powerful stag!

nature walks! reconnect with home!

find a place to just lay in tall grass, and maybe come back to the same spot every now and then so the grass makes a little imprint! (please be careful to check for ticks if you have them in your area!!)

find a herd! (deer friends, or nondeer friends! just satisfy that herding instinct!)

I’m getting a Silver the cat beanie buddy! They’ll be my second Ty cat! I have a Flip beanie buddy named Luna!

Silver is so cuuute. One of the cutest cat beanies (they remind me of Silverstream from Warrior cats!!). You're so lucky to be getting them in buddy size. I have Amber I believe. I'd kill to get Silver to pair with her.

Love that you also have a Flip! Recently I found a beanie buddy of Pounce at goodwill and omg he's amazing (his name is Deerheart after one of my OCs). Super soft and huggable. The flatness to him adds so much charm. Is it the same with Luna? The buddies in general are a great line. Ty knew exactly what they were doing when they said "what if we take our popular plush line of beanie babies and made them larger".

I feel this intense need all the time to wander away, especially at night. I know it's dangerous and I have family who needs me here but there's a deep longing to leave humanity behind and rejoin nature.

It's a guilty feeling because I feel as though I've been pampered all my life and I just want to run away from it all. I can chop it up to bring non-human but that just makes it hurt more that I've been imprisoned in a form that's not me.

Dumping this here for the sillies this is my warriors-sona Deerheart. He is a medicine cat and horrible at it.

Every time he’s actually needed for something, he is untraceable, somewhere off in the middle of the woods. He often drops incredibly ominous and cryptic messages without prompting- and will refuse to elaborate on what he means. Nobody knows if he’s actually receiving messages from something beyond, or if he’s just fucking with everyone.

Also he really likes bugs (especially worms, grubs, wiggly critters of any variety really) and he tends to little colonies which he keeps hidden in the back of camp. He sneaks off prey scraps to them. They clean any remaining flesh off the bones, and then he keeps the bones! He has many hidden collection piles around the territory.

Everything other than the mushrooms got stuck in his fur from reckless forest exploring, he REFUSES to let anyone else groom him. The mushrooms just grow there we don’t ask questions.
