Walking in the dark

I think all of us had that creeping feeling someone is following us before. Usually, this happens in seasons like winter when the nights are long. The other day on my way home I noticed the person walking ahead of me often looking back. I couldn't help myself but take a glance behind myself to discover: there was nobody. Was I the one who followed?
