Found this anime based on a Chinese manhwa on Netflix. I was checking out another anime that I have been waiting for when I found this in their suggestions for me and the premise was quite interesting.

It’s the story of Emperor Xiao Jin Yun, ruler of the kingdom of Dechan, and his empress, Xu Yu. Through a spell gone awry, they fall into a pond in the palace and end up switching bodies. This is a dilemma that no one must know about as it can put the kingdom into great danger so while they wait for the solution to their problem, they go on acting as if they are who they’re supposed to be.

Jin Yun finds himself involved in the Inner Court and its deadly intrigue, while Xu Yu has to contend with issues governing the kingdom, including dealing with wily and power-hungry courtiers and defending the kingdom from enemies at their borders. Through this exchange, they develop a deeper understanding of each other’s lives and end up growing sympathetic to one another.

As she lives his life, Xu Yu finds herself falling deeper in love with the distant husband she married. She was already in love with him when she became his empress but never really understood him. She realizes how difficult it is for him as the emperor, with very few he can truly rely on and trust.

Jin Yun, on the other hand, begins to appreciate how difficult and lonely his wife had been all this time, being treated with disdain by the other consorts and concubines and initially, even his own mother, the Empress Dowager. Her tomboyish ways and skills as a warrior makes her an outsider, untrained as she is in arts and letters. Yet he sees how sincere and courageous she is, choosing to go on despite her situation. Before long, he finds that he has fallen for her as well.

It’s interesting and wonderful how the two of them act in the body of the other. Jin Yun’s sharp intellect and skill in the arts and politics allows him to endear “Xu Yu” to his mother, even as he rules from behind the scene. Xu Yu, for her part, ends up fighting alongside her own father’s army at the border, something she’s always dreamt of doing but couldn’t do so as a female. Her father finds out but he keeps her dangerous secret to himself.

They eventually switch back but what’s nice is that the momentum of the story doesn’t really slow down despite the resolution of this problem. In fact, the second season tackles the problems and intrigue that were borne out of what transpired. Equipped with a deeper and more intimate understanding of each other, Jin Yun and Xu Yu work together to deal with them and ensure a peaceful era in their kingdom.

Apparently, there’s also a live action drama version of this anime and I intend to watch it too. But I want to finish the anime first and read the manhwa. Hopefully, the drama won’t be disappointing, as some live drama interpretations sometimes end up.

Sorry to vent but I am so pissed...

I was gone for like a day and soon as I woke up and got a news about the new opening of bnha/mha... And as a BKDK/DKBK Fan... I got a headache

Like... AJAJAJGHAGFAAA! Please I just saw a comment on twitter about most dudebros attacking most Bkdk's twitt and saying like these "It's just a Opening why are you so mad? 🙄" or saying "You Bkdks are being a**holes to Izu//ochas again, being a crybaby because you can't accept the fact izu//ocha canon!" etc, etc...

Like DUDE! SHUT UP! You guys are being the a** here, Like I'm gonna ask? Why most of you are in the BKDK/DKBK TWITT?! Like most of us literally just vent and later on we just move forward and accept what just happened. Or most of us ignore what happened and just focus on the source material and ignore the hate comments and block...

Fyi, I'm just having fun on this ship and I'm not attacking any ship here especially Izu//Ocha I actually love this ship too but... It's actually funny like why you guys are the ones who felt more threaten about BKDK/DKBK being Canon and bringing up the SAME evidence about them not being canon and Izu//Ocha is canon like... ???

Again, I am NOT ATTACKING ANY SHIP HERE but the fact that everyday WE'RE USUALLY THE ONES WHO'S GETTING ATTACKED AND DEFENDING NOT JUST BKDK BUT THE OTHER CHARACTERS TOO!

In the opening scene there are so many reasons why bkdk's are mad or even disappointed in that scene! And I'm one of them because most of us want Ochako's arc be justified! They even forgot Iida's Importance! (Or maybe we just see in the upcoming episodes...)

(Edit: I forgot to mention that the visual on the New Opening is so BEAUTIFUL! ESPECIALLY THAT SCENE OF LADY NAGANT!😍)

"Bkdk doesn't even make sense to become CANON!" Again, shut up, if you guys like to analyze and make theories, we too like it too and just do what we just do.

"You Bkdk's Hate Ochaco so much that you ship her with a villain which is Toga!" Excuse me, WHAT?! We did not hate her lmao! 💀 In Fact many bkdk's Love her SO MUCH more than any shonen girl that I've SEEN! And when it comes to their ship which is Toga//chako there are shippers who didn't even ship bkdk that ship them with each other and in fact there are parallelism between bkdk and tgck and check those analysis and theories! Again this story is ABOUT BECOMING A HERO, HOW TO BECOME A BETTER HERO. ABOUT HOPE, HOW SOCIETY SHAPES A PERSON, WHY A PERSON BECAME A HERO OR A VILLAIN, ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF ACCEPTING THE HANDS IN A FORM OF HELPING OR SAVING THAT PERSON!
