im jared kleinman from dear evan hansen and im looking for.. anyone really, but especially evan, my mom and brother and foster sister, and alana. (ive already found my zoe). if any of this sounds familiar plsplspls tell me

i was amab and nonbinary (he&ae pronouns), and i did theatre. i was also pretty short. i had autism(and/or adhd?) + auditory processing issues, as well as trauma & depression/anxiety. i was also in a wheelchair for a lot of 10th grade if that helps? idk.

evan- we were in love. we met around age 8 and i was.. so deeply in love with u by the time we were in 7th grade. after everything that happened i went thru quite a bit of trauma but once i was stable and we were able to talk to each other again we got together. i remember u loved bees and lemonade.

[tw: child death] my brother issac - i dont think ill ever find you honestly. you were nine months old when you died in a car crash- our father was bringing you to the hospital bcuz u had the flu, i think. u were deaf, i know that for sure, and u had the curliest hair. i miss u little dude, i wish youd gotten to grow up.

my mom - april kleinman. i miss you <3. i know when i was growing up u werent the best but you made steps to change after i came out as gay and later as nonbinary & im so thankful for that

my foster sister - your name was olivia, and u were 9 when i was 18. thats when our mother began fostering u. i dont remember much, but i remember wishing id been able 2 be there for u more.

alana - in all honesty i dont have very many memories, but i do remember that we were close- not as close as evan and i or zoe and i, but close. definite mlm/wlw solidarity <3

Some Newsies Headcanons

Jack:

This man 100% pretends to be all brave an tough and then proceeds to cry himself to sleep

Probably afraid of thunderstorms but hides it

Had a horse phase when he was younger (So did Race but not as bad)

Sometimes forgets words for things and decides to make them up (couldn't remember the word for cigar so he yelled at Racetrack not to let Les use his "fire leaf stick")

Still has nightmares about the refuge

That Santa Fe pamphlet is more important to him than most of the people he knows (with the exception of Davey, Les, Crutchie, and Race)

Has threatened to use a lasso to tie Racetrack to the wall at least once, and no, it didn't work

David:

Talks to himself when he's doing things

Can see right through Jack's bullshit/knows when he's pretending to be okay vs when he actually is

Cannot dance but tries

Fidgets with literally anything he can get his hands on

A modern David would cry after watching Dear Evan Hansen

Genuinely doesn't know how to smoke and legit inhaled the smoke and started dying the first time Jack offered a cigar to him

Dresses very formally literally no matter where he's going

Talks about Jack to Sarah because he is very gay and doesn't want advice from his parents

Sometimes questions his gender identity but always forces himself not to think about it because of what his family might think

Crutchie:

I will die on the hill that Crutchie is probably an age regressor, but keeps it a secret because this is Newsies and nobody tells anyone anything

Will beat you with his crutch if you insult his friends

Will apologize after hitting someone in a fight

Claims to hate being carried but does kinda like it

Will go to work even if he's dying of an unknown deadly sickness because he feels bad about others helping him

Race:

This is pretty much canon at this point I believe but Race is transmasc

Spot is the only one allowed to call him "Racer", he will protest if anyone else calls him that

Always has a cigar purely for the sake of having something in his mouth, not because he smokes it

Got his harmonica taken away by Jack after playing it nonstop at all hours of the night

Spot has offered to let him live in Brooklyn and he just kinda said no because he's fine making the walk every day

Acts like an idiot but is actually really smart

Probably hates basically everything about himself but acts like he's the best to hide it because this is Newsies and nobody tells anyone anything

Seriously all of these characters just need to sit down and have a heart to heart

"I can't wait for anything! The doctors call it ADHD- I call it RDHD, because my name is Racetrack!" (Bonus points if yall get that reference)

A modern Racetrack would show Spot that one song from Raggedy Ann, "It's hard to be king when you're short" and get yelled at

Spot:

Gets teased constantly for being short

Constantly looks like he wants to unalive the next person he sees

Steals Racetrack's hat to annoy him

Racetrack compared him to one of those small yappy dogs once and Spot now thinks about it constantly

Aggressively kind to the people he cares about ("DRINK WATER AND GET SOME FUCKING SLEEP, I FUCKING LOVE YOU")

Refuses to explain why he ran away from his family

Despises his real name because "it sounds like an old man name"

Warning! Musical AUs do not completely follow the plot of the originals. They are adjusted enough to make the characters more canonical.

The Greatest Showman ✧ Yun Jin

✧ Yun Jin owed a lot to her parents. Especially her passion for music. When financial problems appeared in her family, she decided to take out a loan and open her own traveling circus. No one found out that her pledge was a cargo of her parents' trading ships from Liyue that had actually sunk.

✧ Her opera performances were not enough, so she started to gather a troupe of people desperate to make money like her. Albedo with her magic tricks, Sayu balancing on a tightrope, Itto and his great strength, Nilou with her dancing and Beidou who, as a former captain, managed them all. Together, they were a strange yet wonderful team that people wanted to see.

✧ To climb to the top of her career, Yun Jin paid a visit to a rich woman named Ningguang. The lady wasn't convinced at first. However, when she met the captain Beidou, she changed her mind. After negotiations, she decided to push some gold in their direction for further development.

✧ However, the more attention a troupe attracted, the more stigmatized it was. An emotionless boy, a dwarf girl, a dangerous giant, a dancer from a distant country and a former pirate. The group couldn't stand it and raised a protest to the people when Yun Jin was away. In retaliation, everything she worked for was burned.

✧ Currently, the girl is sitting at Xiangling's restaurant, wondering what to do next. She must have made a mistake getting used to the luxuries Ningguang gave her and forgot about her friends.

Heathers ✧ Childe

✧ Childe has been attending Teyvat High School for as long as he can remember. He was considered a quiet and calm boy. Until the day when he accidentally met Il Capitano in one of the parking lots and everything began to change.

✧ When he accidentally got into a fight with opponents of the Harbinger gang, it turned out that he is not as bland as he was called. Il Capitano personally offered him to join them on a trial basis. La Signora did not mind but Scaramouche did. However, his voice turned out insignificant.

✧ It didn't take long for Zhongli to realize that something was wrong with his friend. It worried him how he started faking hall passes for his new bunch of friends. He had access to them because the teachers gave him the role of running the club. Zhongli tried to talk to him but it didn't help much.

✧ The Harbingers have always cared about their image. It was impossible to miss them because they wore stylized jackets. The day Childe got his, the three of them gave him a new nickname. He was to be Tartaglia from now on.

✧ They gave him his first task. It was Scaramouche who invented it and the boy felt it would be more difficult than it should be. However, it turned out to be simple, but cruel and testing loyalty.

✧ Tartaglia is tasked with introducing Osial, an old friend of Zhongli, to high school. Ever since the fight, Zhongli had avoided Osial like the plague. The attacker was banned from approaching and entering the school grounds. What should he do now? Stick with the new group or go back to the way it was?

Dear Evan Hansen ✧ Chongyun

✧ Chongyun was never interested in Xingqiu's life. The boy had pushed him once by accident in the hallway and that was it. When a few days later he came to sign his cast as an apology and read his letter, fresh from the printer, which was a form of therapy, he was furious. How was Chongyun supposed to know that the dark-haired one was the author of the book he was reading? Xingqiu immediately stated that he must have been following him and would now tell everyone.

✧ Shortly after, Chongyun was summoned to Principal Keqing's office. It turned out that Xingqiu had committed suicide and a letter was found on him. He couldn't explain that they didn't know each other at all. He lied that they were friends. It turned out to be a big mistake.

✧ The Xingqiu's family wanted to meet him. Rich people who run one of the department stores invited him to their place.

✧ After that, he was regularly invited to dinners and gatherings. He wondered how he could get out of this situation but he only made it worse. He even wrote a whole series of e-mails to prove to his family that Xingqiu and him really were buddies.

✧ Everything was stable until his aunt Shenhe got annoyed at how often he was away. It was true that he much preferred spending time away. And, although parents of Xingqiu considered him close, it was a huge lie.

✧ Now, Xingqiu's parents offered to pay for the expensive exorcist training that Chongyun always wanted. Shenhe told him to refuse. He doesn't know what to do.

Voice claim time! Disclaimer, some of these are from what I think are slightly more niche shows/movies, but whatever. Also there are a few “smaller” characters I just have exact voices for so I’ll be including them.

Oh, and apologies in advance for the rambling. I’m trying to be as clear as possible but some of these voices are so hard to pin down.

Nick: a mix of all the male country artists/bands I listen to-Jordan Davis, Blake Shelton, Old Dominion, etc. He’s kind of just generic “guy with a relatively subtle Southern accent.” Also there’s a bit of Tom Holland for some reason.

Sel: Several different voices at different points, and kind of a combination. 1. JD from Heathers-specifically the World Premiere Cast, and even more specifically his voice during Seventeen. 2. Jordan Davis 3. My Chorus Dad Thayer (I have no way to explain his voice-it’s a very very subtle southern accent, very low, and very Sel.)

Bree: I don’t actually know how to describe this bc Bree’s voice isn’t something I’ve ever heard. It’s the voice I hear when Tara speaks-Tara is a character I do text RP as-but there’s no good comparison to that. I can’t mimic it. It’s just slightly different than my voice-enough to be obviously different, but subtle enough that trying to recreate what I hear comes out awful. Closest I’ve heard is probably either Taylor Swift or Tenile Arts, but those are both too far off from mine.

Alice: Erin from the Lore OlymPOD podcast. Yes, I read Lore Olympus, come at me. She’s kind of the default “best friend” voice, actually.

Mariah: You know that trope of the Black woman at the post office who calls you “sweetheart” and is incredibly Southern? That’s Mariah. I know it’s probably closer to Patricia and that Mariah’s 20-something, but hush. Probably the closest I know of is Millie’s first voice in Helluva Boss.

Valec: Asmodeus from Helluva Boss. And for some reason he turns into Angel Dust when he’s mocking/taunting/fighting with Sel. I cannot possibly explain this, don’t ask.

Lord Davis: Striker from Helluva Boss mixed w/Blake Shelton

Issac: The Wolf from Into The Woods, specifically when he’s trying to lure Little Red and being very obviously evil.

Tor: Stella from Helluva Boss.

Evan: Connor from Dear Evan Hansen.

Felicity: Octavia from Helluva Boss but not depressed. Well, not until Bloodmarked.

Anyone else have really specific voice claims that conflict with canon voices? Like… Sel’s definitely a base/baritone, but 2/3 of my voice hcs are tenor voices. And Tor definitely isn’t British, Stella just has the right Bitch Factor.

So Let’s Cast the Night Vale TV Show - Part One, The Radio Station and the Science Lab

Hello all and welcome to a series I’m calling So Let’s Cast the Night Vale TV Show, in which we create a fancast for the night vale TV show. I’m going to do this in multiple parts, but I’d like everyone’s input, because my opinion is just my opinion.

First things first - in a perfect world, all the amazing voice actors could play their respective characters, but that’s very unlikely. Some of them aren’t screen actors, some of them don’t fit the canon ages or descriptions and some were just once-off guests.

I’m not going to recast Cecil and Carlos. Cecil because I don’t think they’d make the show without Cecil Baldwin, and Carlos because I personally think Dylan would be down just because of how much love he has for the show. And because I’m biased and I love him. Same thing with Kevin - as Cecil’s double, he’d probably be played by Cecil Baldwin but voiced by Kevin R. Free. If you have your own ideas though, you’re welcome to share them!

Lastly, I’m going off of appearance, age, past roles, and general vibes while I list my picks. I’m not intimately familiar with every actor I name.

Without further ado, let’s cast the radio station and science lab!

The Radio Station

For the interns, I tried to stick with people who are under thirty, since they’re mostly described as being around college-student age. You’ll notice there’s a lot of people from horror franchises; that’s because the interns are usually met with a terrible fate, so horror actors would fit well.

Intern Dana Cardinal: Originally voiced by Jasika Nicole. Fancast, Jasmin Savoy Brown

Jasmin Savoy-Brown has had roles in Scream 5, Yellowjackets, Grey’s Anatomy, and more. She’s very talented, and she’s also queer! I think she’d bring a lot of the perseverance Dana has to life, based on her role in Scream.

Intern Maureen: Originally voiced by Maureen Johnson. Fancast, Maya Hawke.

I mean, come on, do I need to say anything more? With her iconic role in Stranger Things, her brief stint in Fear Street, and recently Do Revenge, she’s worshiped by lesbians everywhere. She’s also a singer, which would be cute because we could see her and Michelle duet! She’s got the spunk of Intern Maureen and honestly please just give me Maya Hawke as Maureen I’m on my knees begging please please please.

Intern Chad Bowinger: Not voiced. Fancast, KJ Apa

HEAR ME OUT! Riverdale wasted this man, but he is actually quite a good actor, and he deserves the chance to go batshit unhinged like Intern Chad calling an evil beagle. Also, intern Chad disappeared into a used sporting goods store. Sports = epic highs and lows of highschool football. Okay bye now.

Intern Kareem Nazari: Voiced by Adal Rifai. Fancast, Nik Dodani

He was in Escape Room, a Blumhouse horror film. He was in The Owl House, a series beloved by Tumblr. And he was in Dear Evan Hansen, one of the most terrifying movies to be released in the last decade. With Kareem getting more prominence in the podcast, I bet he would get a bigger role in the show, and I think Nik Dodani would do a great job.

The Scientists:

They only appear in brief mentions throughout the podcast, and in larger roles of It Devours! I tried to cast people in their thirties and forties; people who could conceivably have a master’s degree, and who seemed like they’d look good in a lab coat.

Nilanjana Sikdar: Not voiced. Fancast, Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan is a Bollywood actress, but I heard about her for her activism. She promotes body inclusivity and representation for fat actors and actresses, battling what she refers to as “the size zero standard” for Bollywood. She’s been acting since 1995, with an extensive body of work. She even hosts a radio show! With her grace and passion, Ms. Balan would make a great Nilanjana.

Luisa: Not voiced. Fancast, Melissa Barrera

Another pick from Scream 5. What can I say, I really liked Scream 5. Not much is known about Luisa, but I personally imagine the Night Vale TV show as being split between Carlos and Cecil’s perspective. With that in mind, all of the scientists would play a much larger role than their brief appearances in It Devours! But that’s just me. Melissa Barrera is also Vanessa, and gave us “Usnavi all night you barely even danced with me” which is the best meme of the 2020s so far.

Mark: Not Voiced. Fancast, Ashley Zukerman

To me, Mark was always the most generic of the scientists, no offense. He’s just some dude! He likes science and he does his experiments! Ashley Zukerman gives me the energy of “Just some dude!” but also brings an incredible presence to his role in Fear Street. He’s also been in Fear the Walking Dead, Succession, Designated Survivor, and many more. If they do flesh out the scientists more, he could be a good pick.

Uhm random question, you dont happen to still have your ladynoir fallout playlist and to be kind enough to share it or do you??? Asking for a friend : )

I don't have it as an actual spotify playlist, but I do have a list of the songs that I associate with that ladynoir era, which I am happy to share! Basically the playlist is half-canon/half-fanfic. It's like a season 4 AU where Ladybug and Chat Noir really did have a serious falling out that lasted a pretty long while. And while Chat did still help with akumas sometimes, he kept to his own mostly. HISTORY:

Connor was born to Larry and Cynthia Murphy on April 20, 1999. The baby was a surprise, but that didn’t stop the new parents from loving their son like they’d planned for him. When Connor was two, Zoe was born. The siblings got along like a house on fire and their parents would always joke that Connor would be the first one Zoe would call if she was in jail and vice versa. As they grew older, however, things changed.

No one really knows what happened to Connor. Larry chalked it up to him just being a teenager. Cynthia didn’t know what to think and so she just tried to ignore it. But it was undeniable. By the time they reached middle school, Connor was a different person. He was moody and destructive and it only got worse as he got older. His parents, having exhausted all their options, decided to send him to a local private school.

Hanover was the best thing that happened to Connor. He could be himself there without fear of ridicule and he met Miguel Nuñez. Miguel and Connor were inseparable. They did everything together. And then Connor took the fall for Miguel and he was shipped back to public school. Public school was a nightmare; no one cared enough to ask what he was feeling and Connor was spiraling more and more each day. It was only a matter of time before he crashed.
