i need a dark academia book revolving around oscar wilde. like okay we've got the secret history- greek literature, dead poet's society- poetry and thoreau, if we were villians- shakespearean lit. so it would make so much sense for a oscar wilde style dark academia book/movie. i want secret seances, gay romance, unhinged sexy as fuck characters and murder

“We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. So medicine, law, business, engineering... these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love... these are what we stay alive for.” ― John Keating, Dead Poet's Society.

here's a random theory i have about dead poets society.
when keating breaks down at the end of the movie after seeing the 1st page of that book, that is because it reminded him of the time when he was a boy and was part of the dead poets. what more could have happened was that neil's death had reminded him of one of his friends who had also killed himself at that time.
after opening the book, he saw the text written by his friend who had died back then and that made him realize the parallel between then and now.

the view between villages, noah kahan
It’s a dichotomy best illustrated on the closing track of Stick Season, “The View Between Villages” – an ethereal account of the canyon of emotions one feels when passing through a place they love and hate at the same time. “It’s about the drive between South Strafford and Strafford,” Kahan shares. “It’s this long winding road through this really beautiful valley – I think there’s some kind of town ordinance that doesn’t allow people to build on it, because it’s just this beautiful farmland. Whenever I drive through it, I feel truly and completely at peace. Then, I get off of it and pass my old house,” he continues. “I have this creeping anxiety coming back… to this place that has so much baggage for me. By the end of the song, I’m reversing the car and going back on the road between the villages.” X

My Top 10 films as a film student (SPOILERS)
Me and my L taste in films
Final Destination(2000)-actually a decent horror films, actually made me jump
The Breakfast Club(1985)-the montage is iconic as fuck, the film had some amazing lines and it was an easy watch
The Basketball Diaries(1995)-one of the only films that actually made me sad,the cinematography was iconic
Pan's Labyrinth(2006)-I watched it as part of my A-Level and I know why. It's a masterpiece a vague shitty fairytale
Trainspotting(1996)-Once again,a film that I study for A-Level film and it's amazing. The plotline and quotes are amazing. Moreover, the editing is iconic.
Dead Poet's Society(1989)-When Neil killed himself,it made me so sad. But the plotline is so sweet and stan Todd for clear skin
Romeo and Juliet(1996)-Boom. I became Even from Skam.
La Haine(1995)-ARGGHHH! JUST ARGGGHH! The ending did surprise me though. It also helped me a bit with French A-Level
The Lost Boys(1987)-Vampires are now awesome. Also,my mum said that Even from Skam looks like he would be in Lost Boys.
Thirteen(2003)-Can we talk about how the lighting changes from light to dark as we see Tracey fall further into her teenange rebellion?
