I've been wanting to draw something about "Dead Bird" by @sobakensyn for a while now. I love the story and the interactions between the characters. Especially the part where Law follows Sanji around, trying to convince him to be drawn, was incredibly funny. That's why I wanted to draw something that would fit into this time period.
Actually I just wanted to make something small and quick. But things got a bit out of hand and I spent more time than planned. But that's okay. I really had a lot of fun with the whole thing. Especially because I was able to try out a new programme for the background. I also did two versions of the image, because I wanted to pick up the colour scheme from the comic.
Also I used a reference image from KiBBitzer for the bicycle.

Danny comes to Gotham on a scholarship (or something)
He meets a cute guy one.
Brain Dead
They meet in a coffee shop
That's it.
I love a good coffee shop AU
Danny had been in Gotham for two months. School had been going well. Who knew college would be a better fit for him than High School? After classes, he liked to visit this coffee shop right off campus. It was close, cheap, and delicious.
"Hey, Danny." The barista, Skye, greeted him. "The usual?" They were already typing it up on the computer.
"Yes please, I'm exhausted." Danny paid and went to sit at his favorite table, in the corner so he could see both doors, but it was already taken by the cutest guy Danny had ever seen. No matter, Danny sat at the next table and pulled out his laptop, and booted it up.
Danny could feel eyes on him as he pulled up his history paper and turned to see the guy watching him carefully. "Can I help you?"
"What kind of laptop is that?" the guy asked. "I'm not familiar with "ZombieWare."
"You wouldn't be, my friend Tucker and I built it. ZombieWare is our creation." They had to make all their own tech to work between the ghost zone and the living world. Regular tech just couldn't handle all the ectoplasm. But now the ghost zone is WiFi capable.
"What kind of OS does it run? Sparrow 3.0?" the guy scooted his chair closer and Danny turned his screen.
"Sparrow 2.5. Sparrow 3 has some security gaps we didn't want to have to find workarounds for."
The guy was very interested in the security gaps Danny had mentioned, and they ended up talking until Skye had to tell them to leave since the shop was closing. They made plans to meet up again and exchanged numbers. Danny couldn't wait to see Tim again.

Hmm, I was thinking, since the conductor is an owl, then he could eat rats or mice. owls eat small animals :)
Translation:
-owl: I brought it, but why are you here.
-conductor: it doesn't matter, just leave it here and get out.
-conductor: hehe found it.
-DJ Groves: Hey the Conductor kid is back.

Speaking from the perspective of someone who has not actually read any of the relevant comics (I've heard it suffered from being part of the new 52), I do like playing around with the premise of the whole Dick Grayson Spyral arc in a vaguely post-crisis setting.
It's like. We have Tim Drake. First his little brother dies. (Sure he was a pain in the ass and half the time when they talked, they ended up fighting, but Tim and Damian were still brothers. Damian was still a kid.) Then Dick gets kidnapped and unmasked and dies, and there's a closed casket funeral. Jason's in his villain era because I said so and Bruce is pushing everyone away and being even more of an emotionally constipated ass than usual because he's mourning. And look, he's the last one standing again.
You're Tim Drake. You're Red Robin and Red Robin was never supposed to be permanent but one thing turned into another and things kept happening, and, well, you never got around to coming up with a new mantle. There's no Robin and Batman needs a Robin so maybe you try to become Robin again, but putting on a dead boy's uniform feels different when you were actually close to the kid. You can never really go back and Bruce doesn't like it and he's being more of an ass than usual. Sure, he's grieving, but you're grieving too. and, and...
What I'm getting at is Tim becomes Nightwing. To honor his memory. To carry on the legacy. Possibly Red!Nightwing to distinguish himself from the original.
And then we get Damian coming back from the dead. Bruce is better after that, but still shutting himself off and being more of jerk than usual. He still has a dead son. Dick's still dead, but Nightwing and Robin team up after Damian yells at Tim because he came back to life to find Dick dead and Tim wearing the costume, but once they work that all out, they team up. They get along better. It's a shame death it was it took to get there.
Eventually Dick comes back from the "dead" and we get that mix of betrayal and anger, but also relief. (And also they should be mad at Bruce too for keeping it a secret). Ummmm, Tim has to go find another new mantle. All of Bruce's terrible decisions he made during the arc were retconned to be because he was brainwashed by Brother Blood II aka Brother Bloodier or something when there's a new primary author and actually he's a great dad.

Image Id: Cereza and Clatter, human and Zoronxie crewmates of The Little Bird, chat over a tablet. Off to the side is T-132, looking at them in confusion. He looks up at them and asks, “what are you two talking about?”. Clatter answers first, craning her head up to stay in frame with the taller Cereza, “marbles!”. Cereza holds up the tablet and continues for clatter, “it’s an old human game! It’s played by…”.
She continues talking about marbles as T-132 stares. In a text box surrounding T-132 are several Wikipedia pages about marbles. He continues to stare, thinking back to all of the times he’d find marbles lying in his way. On his charging station, over his work desk, even waking up with marbles on top of his head. T-132 interrupts Cereza with a sudden, “you motherfucker!” Clatter is left confused while Cereza grins nervously. End image Id.
Cereza has a habit of pranking some of their more uptight co-workers, and T-132 happens to be really easy to prank. Even if he doesn’t really appreciate all of Cereza’s hard work in the end.
