Forty-seven Macintosh desktops and towers from an assortment of manufacturers and the three variants of the PowerBook 1400 were examined in this issue. A computer from Apple did squeeze into the lineup on the cover of “high-speed winners.” At the back of the magazine, David Pogue offered Mac-flavoured lyrics for traditional holiday tunes, such as “God Rest Ye Copland Programmers,” “Gil Amelio’s Coming to Town!,” and “I’m Dreaming of a Clean System.”
