⚘ small suggestions to feel more dark academic

Be unafraid to prioritise studying. Decide for yourself what brings you more satisfaction.

Have a system for revising. Learn what works best for your learning, and dedicate yourself to sticking to it. Make a table of contents, make a key for your annotations, find a specific spot in the library.

Black pens.

Eyeliner. It looks great on everybody.

Be willing to learn. Do not lose yourself in your studies. Be open to the knowledge of others, experiment with hobbies, ask questions wherever you go.

Keep a journal with you at all times. Record whatever you think you need to, no matter how important or trivial it may be.

Decorate your phone screen. Use custom icons that match your background. If you want visual interest, use widgets.

Make a personal ritual for rewards. Personally, I take myself out for coffee or snacks after finishing a particularly draining exam or assignment.

Do not let yourself become vain or conceited. If following the dark academia subculture boosts your confidence, that's excellent. But remember to stay respectful and polite, and don't take yourself too seriously

Hey, I was wondering if you had any recommendations for finding Dark Academia trousers or DA outfits in general that are more casual. I want to start wearing them to classes but I feel a little pretentious wearing them next to to a class filled with people wearing sweatpants haha. Anyways, thank you for any advice!

It’s really all about how you style them anon! A pair of pleated trousers with simple shirts and comfortable shoes (I think loafers can be pretty casual) won’t look out of place at all. Plain black or grey trousers are not statement pieces, so if you also wear an understated top (suck as comfy sweaters, or even tshirts) you won’t look out of place while still elevating your wardrobe.

angelo & keelie, two monster high teachers I came up with in a dream (they're roommates)

Pls suggest some feel-good, light series. I liked Ted Lasso and Derry Girls, and obv B99, The Good Place, Superstore, and Schitts Creek. I just can't seem to find anything else coming as close to the high standards they have left with me, and it breaks my heart :"(
