Today my friend's 5-year-old daughter was scrolling through the pictures on my phone when she came across Laudna. She shrieked, "Zombie Girl! Her a zombie girl!" and immediately began scouring my phone for more images.

Seriously, this little girl made my day. Later she came into the living room with a hooded horse-skull mask on her head. The poor thing could barely see!

Kind of following on from that ask, something I’ve only realised and become content with recently is it’s OK that the art I make and the art I like to look at are different. Really, it’s OK.

I love drawing in black and white pencil. I find it incredibly relaxing and can happily just zone out for hours. And armour! Detailed armour! reflections and patterns and chain and textures, and yes I will bitch about it at the end, but I really enjoy drawing it.

I love looking at colourful art, and art with clean lines, and art full of gestures and expressions. There are artists who do godlike things with colour that make me want to lick the screen whenever I see it, and artists whose lines have such a crisp perfection it blows me away.

And it’s OK that their art is not like my art.

Do I occasionally make myself try a technique I’ve seen another artist use? Absolutely. Do I enjoy it? Not usually. Do I learn something every time and feel my black and white has taken a step up when I go back it? Hell yes.

I can’t be the only person who’s really intrigued by this piece on the CR3 art reel? I know that the artist http://lindalithenart.com/ made artwork for many of the CR adventure guides, including the most recent Call of the Netherdeep. Any have a clue as to who these characters are? And whether we might meet them in the new campaign?

I’ve had a few questions from people looking for card art, and I tend to politely explain that I can’t work without some sort of payment, but that I’ll happily see if we can come to some sort of agreement that works for their budget. It at least leaves the door open for further discussion if they’re serious enough to understand your position.

Absolutely! I feel like there's a difference between people who can't pay as much (which you can consider), and people who can't pay at all (""right now""). Thanks for the advice! :) Hope it helps, anon!

Heya! I just got back into FFXIV again and I'm looking for some wolship/lore & meta blogs to follow (I'm already following you, dragons-bones, and nuclearanomaly), so I was wondering if you could give me some recs?

I honestly don't follow a lot of blogs, and not all of them FF blogs, for my time and sanity. But I can give some recs, and others can recommend more!

for lore @mirkemenagerie is the one to follow and also keep in your FF lore bookmarks folder. Sounsyy collects text from the game, supplements (lorebooks, short stories), and when possible interviews and panels with the devs for textual lore information.

I'd also add @thecat-inthehat for commentary/lore, particularly on their main main blog, @reflectionsofacreator though that's more general anything goes. @onwesterlywinds too for good writing, roleplay, and MSQ analysis from sideblog @livvyplaysfinalfantasy (though not been updated in a bit due to time).

@haillenarte for translations. @illegiblewords also usually has some good meta commentary and lore discussion.

@bloodsworn-marshal is for Pipin fans (cuz who isn't?); good stuff for Pipin/Nanamo, and sometimes Pipin and an OC, as well as the player's own WoL char too.

For more Thancred shipping, my pals @anomaliewrites, @raelly-writing / @darantha, @phaedra-mero, and @eremiss. I'll add @karoiseka as she's got a triad involving Thancred & G'raha with her WoL. I'm followed by quite a few other Thancred-likers, funny story.
