After weeks of watching the violent protests for Hamas. The defacing of monuments. Calling for genocide. Actually physically attacking Jewish people and their supporters. The outright ugliness of it all because antizionism is just antisemitism folks..
It was refreshing to see the March for Israel today in Washington. Completely peaceful, no destruction. No calls for violence against anyone!!!! I felt like, for a moment, everyone could see what the true majority in America think. America really is pro Israel, and I'm proud of that fact.
Hope you're doing well. Are the reactions to your treatments getting better? Is there any way any of us can help you and your family?
Hi love!
Absolutely this. I've been watching vids from both pro-Israel and anti-Israel demonstrations for over a month now, and the difference is very clear. I haven't seen a single pro-Israel rally where there was violence or calls for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, no "Gas the Palestinians" calls, no stomping on Palestinian flags... In fact, I've heard more than one person mentioning their pain for innocent Palestinians who have also been victimized by Hamas.
I'm also gonna make it clear that those are anti-Israel, not pro-Palestinian, protests... Because those people weren't demonstrating when Palestinians were being killed by Assad. They weren't demonstrating when Palestinians were being victimized and even killed by Hamas, and the Palestinian Authority. They weren't demonstrating for Palestinians to be treated equally, and be given full rights, freedom and dignity in places like Jordan and Lebanon. If these people only take to the streets when they can blame Israel, and when they use these rallies to attack Jews, they're not pro-Palestinian. They're anti-Israel and antisemitic.
Meanwhile, Gazans themselves ask for something completely different from westerners:
And absolutely, I believe that yesterday, they also published a survey that showed that the majority of Americans stand by Israel? One Nonnie mentioned to me there's a certain difference among younger Americans. Another sent me an article that supported this:
According to a recent Harvard CAPS Harris poll, 51% of young adults can “justify” the massacres perpetrated by Hamas, in part because their main exposure to Israel since October 7 came from TikTok videos.
This is at least in part because of social media selling a simplistic narrative, but in part also because of American universities pushing it. That's been happening to a great degree because of Qatari funding of these universities. Qatar's been responsible for this, when that state is one of the greatest human rights violators, and when it has a record of antisemitic attitudes. Hopefully, now that this funding has come to light, these institutes will stop throwing their Jewish students and moral stance under the bus in favor of Qatar's money.
Thank you for asking! *hugs* I'm still having a reaction, but it's not as bad, and I'm trying to take a lot of naps to help ride out the worst of it. And thank you also for offering help! Honestly, I don't wanna ask for anything for myself or my family. If you can donate to the Israeli Red Magen David (the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross), that would be amazing, but ONLY if you can. I don't want anyone to feel obligated, but I know that they and other rescue and different aid organizations in Israel have been working non stop, and could use any help. Thank you again! Sending ALL the love.

daphnesvalley replied to your post “Absolutely agree on the Dean & Rio mess in the writing. But I think...”
And one more thing to my ramble.. I really do think Mathew Lilliard gets it and almost mocks it in his acting and for that reason I have to give him some props. I constantly wonder if he ever is like what are you guys doing behind the scenes. But I think they were to far into filming to correct it when it aired and they realized the audience didnt identify with the writing. I really think JB thought at this point we would be rooting for Dean.
I agree, especially in the earlier seasons you could tell Matthew was giving a very layered performance while at the same time mocking it (I think of the scene in 1x08 where he’s working out in the most obnoxious way possible).
I did also think that there was going to be a bigger deal made of 3x04 -- that the show was trying to say ‘If you’re a white man, you can literally announce that you want to kill someone and still be able to buy a gun’.
... I do not think that was the ultimate takeaway from the scene.

Wait who hates this ship. I adore it…. They are soul mates with crap timing and such selfless character’s. I love them together and apart. Thats the beauty of all these characters. They all are so good together…
I have just seen the odd post from people that don’t like them together, mainly because of Major’s actions over the seasons. Which I can kind of understand. But a lot of his actions came from a place of love and wanting to protect Liv.
I just like them for the fact that they no matter what their relationship status is they have always been there for one another and that’s everything.

@jnlnyaface replied to your post “Did Jenna actually say that Brio ran it's course? I didn't see that in...”
@daphnesvalley OMG I thought the Stan Crystal storyline was going to be a feature of the season. Then it disappeared. Annie wanting to be an EMT. What if they had how she was going to balance crime and having a job she actually liked? Beth taking over the spa place would’ve been interesting because she’s actually a good saleswoman. Or even if they offered to buy the paper store (which also disappeared) and they started to run cash through that? There were so many options!
Stan and Krystal is one of the highlights for me! Wish we would have gotten more of it.

I'm laughing because TTB actually believes that Jared and Josh really asked Karlies dad to so that lol. And that somehow they are really relying on his help. I just cant with this level pf delusion. Oh and they better not be mad at Karlie because it didn't go well, she was only doing what they asked. But she's probably crying somewhere being punished... Kaylors...... please read... hes a boomer!!!!!!
@daphnesvalley be honest! Did you sent this ask to TTB as a joke?
Tumblr media
“(Karlie) is probably in a corner crying” 🤦‍♀️
This storyline is the perfect amalgamation of a fairy tale (villains capturing a beautiful princess) and telenovela (the protagonist is being forced into staying with the bad guy to protect her family).
I. Am. Here. For. It.

if i were the type of person to "know" things, i would say that daphnesvalley is on to something. but i wouldn't want to upset the stans who think that no one knows any bts info.
I’m assuming you’re probably referring to this comment @daphnesvalley made on one of my posts:
I really think the network stepped in and forced Jenna to keep him. Jenna and CH clearly have a different vision for this show. Her writing is so tone deaf and belongs in 2005. I wonder if they have caught on to the fact yet she couldn’t make us hate Rio. I feel so bad for Manny. At this point on principle alone I 200% support Rio for the win lol
Interesting, anon. Very interesting indeed ;) Thanks for sharing!

i’m not sure what tone this message has (lmao) but honestly, i agree. taylor is more figurative in her songwriting than people give her credit for. i don't believe her songs are always 100% factual and as fans, we don't have enough information to know exactly what she is referencing, or her true intentions. like, in KOMH, when she sings “we met a few weeks ago,” does she mean 2 weeks? 4? 8? was joe calling her “baby” seriously, as a joke? was joe trying to get with her while she was with tom? we don’t know!
if taylor's songs were paintings, she'd be an impressionist, like monet: you understand the feeling and the overall scene, and you can see a few details... but like monet, taylor paints the ‘big picture’ with her lyrics; even though she drops specific details sometimes, she still doesn’t create high-definition photographs. they’re just impressions of the moment or moments.
(i can’t tag you for some reason @daphnesvalley)

My darling @daphnesvalley! Thank you for your ask! *HUGS*
You know I'm so sick of everyone just believing Hamas math. I literally just found out today that a filmmaker the festival works with was murdered on Oct 7th, protecting his wife and daughter. I'm not saying I'm a great wealth of knowledge, but look how long it took for me to get that information. For it to be released to us all about a contribution fund and special screening of The Boy. Israel is one of the most technological countries out there, and it's taking this long to get accurate information. You're telling me that Hamas can just magically get accurate information in hours. Ridiculous!!!
The way I knew you were talking about Yahav Wiener even before I got to the end of the paragraph... I don't think I will ever forget seeing his wife, when she got the news that he was murdered in the middle of an interview, and she completely fell apart... :'(
But yes, you're spot on! It's been 77 days (over two months!) since the massacre, and we're still not done identifying everyone murdered on that day. We still don't have the final figure of how many were killed.
But I think one of the biggest pieces of proof that Hamas numbers can't be trusted remains the al-Ahli hospital parking lot explosion. The one where Hamas said within 10 minutes of the explosion that Israel bombed the hospital, that the hospital was destroyed, and that 500 people were killed. Then it turned out it wasn't Israel, it was a failed Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket that fell on the hospital, the hospital still stands, it was the parking lot that was hit, and there is no credible body that believes that many people were killed in that explosion. Out of all estimates I heard, the US gave the highest one, saying it was somewhere between 100 and 300 killed, and likely at the lower end. And that's the highest estimate. Hamas "revised" the number and took it down to... 471. And that's STILL a part of the "official" total number of Gazans killed according to Hamas. If that doesn't tell someone that Hamas lies, I don't know that anything will.
Tumblr media
Also, thank you for the report about the sign war! XD I'm glad to hear that the fight between you and your neighbor ended with your decisive victory.
I feel like you're probably sick of me thanking you, but I really am so grateful for you, so I hope it's okay to do it again, for being interested in my housing situation. God willing, there's still some stuff to work out, but hopefully everything will be figured out soon. And in the meantime, I'm doing my best in this temporary place I'm in. And yes, there are hundreds of thousands of people who have been displaced, and it's throwing so many of us for a loop. And it's still one of the smaller problems to have following Oct 7, but it exists, it's hard to deal with, many are affected by it, so I do think it's worth mentioning.

"Breaking your faith in humanity "... Truer words never spoken. There is knowing the true horror that was done to innocent civilians and being horrified by it. But then there is the ultimate sadness in how some people act now. How are people criticizing Paltrow for speaking the truth. Rape is not resistance!!!
Even on a mundane level, I can say as I first found you because of Buddie, I almost have no joy for it coming back. I'm almost grateful there were no shows this fall because it would have felt icky for me. But it still does even now. It feels vapid to find joy in something knowing how people suffered and are still suffering. I, of course, don't judge others who find solace in it. I will watch it and hope. I just find it hard to go back to a normal thing like shipping a fictional couple.
As always, I hope you're staying safe and sane. I hope you feel ok and maybe have the house situation figured out . xoxoxo
Hi darling!
I hope you're well. *hugs*
It's insane to me that the sentence, "Rape is not resistance" is something that actually needs saying. People who are truly against rape, are always against rape. They don't need convincing not to make Jews an exception. I have NEVER heard in any other context people saying, "Well, I'm against rape as an idea, but this specific case is okay."
If you're okay with some rapes, you've never truly been anti-rape.
But the fact that so many of those who say it, who supposedly justify it as anti-colonialist, are actually colonizers living on colonized land, is even more deranged, because it means either they're saying they're okay with they themselves, their families and fellow colonizer friends and colleagues being raped as well (I doubt that's what they mean), or they're applying this "notion" of rape being resistance in a discriminatory way, where rape is resistance so long as it's done to Jews living in the Jewish ancestral homeland. Which is not anti-colonialist at all, IS hypocritical and IS antisemitic. HOW can they take this stance, and not see how harmful to Jews it is? They're being pro-rape and anti-Jewish, while claiming they're motivated by empathy and concern for human rights!?
I'm so happy you found me thanks to my Buddie content, and I endlessly appreciate what an incredible, real ally to Jews you are. I'm generally very grateful for every 911 fan, who actually implements the show's notions of compassion, which include listening to marginalized groups about their own experiences (and Hamas' massacre, the motivation behind the war, the pain over the loss of so many Israelis and Jews by a nation which has survived a genocide, and still carries an inter-generational trauma because of it, the sense of betrayal over the rise in antisemitic incident on Oct 7 already, while the terrorists were still inside Israel, butchering, raping, beheading and burning people, these are OUR experiences. Ignoring us when we talk about them or telling us we're only motivated by bloodlust, an antisemitic trope, when we explain that we're much more concerned about liberating our hostages and preventing another massacre, that's speaking over us. Arguing with us on what is and isn't antisemitic, that's speaking over us, rather than listening to us. It's antisemitic in itself, and it's not something that's done to ANY other marginalized group).
I can't believe we're at the point where Jews have to beg people to just listen to us, listen as if we're human beings, and not caricatures of vampiric villains (again, a classic antisemitic trope), cruelly interested solely in destruction and death. But in response so many people just look at us, knowing there's a rise in antisemitism, and still go... "No."
When people in every fandom go around, not just blocking Jews and Jewish allies who believe a Jewish state has the right to exist in the Jewish ancestral land, but they're also telling others to block us, to silence our voices, to act like there is no pain and there are no victims on the Israeli and Jewish side of this conflict, it is hard to be enthusiastic about any fandom.
At the same time, I KNOW I'm living through a major trauma, the worst Jews have experienced since the end of the Holocaust. I've seen my maternal grandmother never really recover from the trauma she went through in the Holocaust. I've never seen her laugh without a touch of sadness and pain being there, she never went through one celebration without slipping aside for at least one moment and crying. After my paternal grandmother died, I discovered that her sister never had kids because of the Holocaust, and actually ended up taking her own life (up until our grandmother's passing, my sis and I were told she died of cancer). So I know how persistent trauma is. I know that the Holocaust did not end in May 1945, and I know that Oct 7 didn't end when Israel was freed of the 3,500 terrorists who invaded it that day. Oct 7 probably won't end even when the current war does. That's why I recognize how important it is to hold on to every bit of normalcy I can, to not let the trauma take over. And that's what fandom is in a sense. A semblance of normalcy.
Except fandom isn't normal anymore, not after I've seen incomprehensible amounts of hate and hypocrisy, including from people I trusted and liked, and thought liked me. My belief in the kindness of people (especially when it's people who love a show that is all about celebrating kindness) has been shaken to the core.
Which is why I currently honestly don't know what I'll do once s7 premieres. I'll watch it, obviously. And I am excited about some stuff I've seen. But will I write and gif? I don't know the answer yet. It's not a certain yes, it's not a certain no. I guess I'll see how I feel at every given moment. I'm not putting any pressure on myself one way or another. But I promise you that whether I post my Buddie content or not (let's be honest, if I watch 9-1-1, you better believe there will be Buddie content alive and kicking in my mind), I will never stop loving them, or thinking they're the ultimate battlefield boyfriends, and sweetest little family unit with Chris. :) And I know that if I do post, it would be an honor to be in this fandom with you, and those like you, who care about my people, and actually listen to Jewish voices (all of them, not just the few they can tokenize).
So... THANK YOU. I can't say that enough. And yes, I've moved into my new home, though it's not quite what it needs to be yet. But I'm getting there! Tiny steps still count, right? I'm sending you massive amounts of love, always! xoxox

Good morning Alice!! If you don't mind, may I add something to the topic of antisemitism? Because in the last year, I had 2 things happen in my personal life that made it blaring to me how much subconsciously for some antisemitism was back on the rise. I am not Jewish, although I am luckily enough to be surrounded by many different Jewish communities and families. In turn, I also live in a progressive city and have always felt I am surrounded by tolerant open-minded people.
But first it was a brunch I was at with some friends. Someone I have known since high school was complaining about a bonus she got and said something like, "Dude, the owners are acting like such Jews." I was taken aback and like what did you just say?? She seemed surprised and was like well that's how people in the office describe them. I mean, I watched Schindlers List with this girl in high school, and I reminded her of everything we learned. The thing is, I know her and her family and have never heard them speak this way. So it's horrible to think she subconsciously always felt that way, or maybe never has, but the term has become mainstream enough again that people felt comfortable using it to describe owners of their company.
The second time was a movie someone recommended to me. Based on what I do for a living, they were being friendly and thought I would enjoy it. I will be sort of vague here so as not to give away spoilers and / or open up the politics of the person involved in the scene. The movie is called "You People". Let's just say I found the movie a bit off putting to start, but then came a scene where someone was bragging about Farrakhan to a Jewish couple. I almost dropped my wine and turned off the movie. In my opinion, the Jewish couple were written kind of as clueless in this scene and the people praising Farrakhan as smart. I only finished the movie because I was waiting for this attitude to be corrected or changed. I was disappointed that it never was. The Jewish couple "learned a lesson." I, of course, messaged the person back and told them what I found problematic about the movie, and again, the person was bemused by my disdain. For me, though, I was just shocked this perspective was able to make it through production. I mean, everyone involved in this movie was never like, maybe this is a bridge to far??
My major point here is that it's scary all this has again become a mainstream thought process. People seem not to notice the repeat of history. I talk to a lot of families all over from very diverse Jewish families. So maybe I am a bit more biased because I hear stories of families in New York that have to hire security to take their children to school because the hate crimes are so bad. However, you never read about it in the media.
My rule now is to not assume anyone is not hearing these things and somehow absorbing it and inadvertently pushing it on. Always be ready to correct or remind someone that yes, they are being hateful. Sorry for the essay I just wanted to point out how people can notice it even from people they least expect it from. Please feel free to correct any POV I presented. You know I always wish to learn!!
As always, stay safe, and I hope you are feeling ok. xoxo
Also, don't feel bad if you don't post this because you don't want to get political on here. I would completely understand
My darling, it is so good to hear from you, no matter what, but especially on such an important topic as antisemitism that is NOT talked about enough.
Thank you for sharing both of these incidents. The first one is just so blatant... I mean, it's clear "Jews" is being used in a negative manner, so how can there be ANY confusion about it being an antisemitic way of expressing oneself? You don't even have to know the specific bloody, hateful history of this particular antisemitic stereotype that links Jews to money hoarding to get that it's a hateful thing to say. And in the case of this stereotype, it really isn't in the past. Just the other day, I reblogged a post about Ilan Halimi, who in 2006 was kidnapped, tortured, mutilated and burned alive because of this antisemitic notion, before he passed away. I'm shocked that in her office, it's an okay thing for anyone to say, but I can't help thinking... this girl can't be stupid, right? So even if she heard it from countless people, there should have been something in her telling her that using the word "Jews" like that is antisemitic and wrong.
As for the movie You People... *sighs* I have it downloaded and waiting for me to watch it. I've tried watching it twice now, and twice I couldn't get past the second scene (when the first one is "just" the movie's opening). So I haven't gotten yet to the part you're describing, but I have no doubt you're spot on in your assessment of it, and honestly... For those who don't know, Farrakhan is a raging antisemite, and praising him to Jews would be akin to the Jewish family praising David Duke (a notorious anti-black White Supremacist) to the black family, and no one pointing out why that's wrong and offensive.
There are several American movies I'm aware of that are based on the concept of "black vs white families who would normally dislike each other have to overcome their differences because their kids wanna get married". This is a concept that works based on the tension between those whose ancestors suffered from slavery in the United States and those whose ancestors were responsible for it. The most basic issue I have with You People is that the white family from the original concept has been replaced with a Jewish one. Since presumably this is meant to work on the same kind of tension, that already implies Jews were responsible for the enslavement of black people in the US. This is not true and has even been recently addressed with historical research on this precisely due to this new antisemitic lie spreading and putting Jewish lives in danger.
I guess that brings me to an issue that's a continuation of something I brought up in my Jewish representation post: American movies and shows hardly ever show us any kind of antisemitism except for the "classic" type trafficked by the Nazis. And the problem with that is that there are so many other kinds, too! We don't represent them in our media, so people don't know to recognize them. And we are not giving young Jewish people and allies of the Jewish community the tools to identify these forms of antisemitism and the weapons to fight back against them.
At some point, I might be able to stomach getting through the movie to detail everything I think is wrong with it, because from what I've heard from you and from @geekgirl101, there's gonna be a lot I would have to rant about. But for now, maybe I'll just mention that the movie has been pretty universally rejected and condemned by the mainstream Jewish community and its allies. Here are just some of the many scathing articles criticizing it:
Critics pan ‘painful’ portrayal of Jews in race relations rom-com ‘You People’
The woke antisemitism of Netflix's 'You People' - opinion
You People's Outrageous Antisemitism
Jew People
Instead of giving us a contemporary Black Jewish story, Netflix’s ‘You People’ erases Jews of color
Netflix’s You People has a problem with Jew people
Netflix Hit 'You People' Branded 'Horribly Damaging' to Jewish People
Thank you for this ask and for caring! Thank you for helping me to still have faith in humanity. Sending you all the love! As always, here's my ask tag. xoxox

Good morning Alice!! This might sound a bit of a ramble and long-winded, so I apologize. It's mostly that I wanted to express to some of the anons on here who asked questions how important it is as non Jewish friends we stand in front of the Jewish people to fight this antisemitism. I don't in any way mean that as condescending, but just truthfully. I also can only express my POV as an American non Jew.
But maybe I'm shaped because my ex mentor, now boss but dearest of friends, starts our morning call every day crying. She used to be able to go to Israel for her family multiple times a year. Her father passed away last year, her mother is ill, and her brothers are all there. She can't get in any more. More than that, her children are here facing a different kind of threat on college campuses. It's a nightmare. I don't speak to anyone who hasn't been directly affected or doesn't feel under threat every day. And that honestly should show you how small the Jewish population really is. That's why it's important to be loud about your support to take the burden away.
Honestly, be prepared to lose some people or say unpopular truths. If you have SM, you have to share the stories because people in the media aren't covering shit. I was blasting the story about Paul hours after it happened, and I still only see milk toast headlines from outlets that will mention it.
Also, you're probably going to be called heinous names. Trust me, you just learn to roll your eyes being called a Nazi because you criticize the squad who actually calls for the genocide of the Jewish people. The upside down world is real these days!!!
Also, there really is an answer for every argument the pro Hamas side has. If you feel like you want to be prepared, just ask Alice!! But trust me, there is always an answer!!
Just remember, we actually know what happens to the Jewish people when we don't stand for them. And the lesson wasn't that long ago. Don't let weaponization of words like racist, collective punishment, moral equivalency intimate you.
The truth is all this could end tomorrow if Hamas let the hostages go and surrendered. But they hide under children as human shields, pull out the video of the leaders saying this if someone doesn't believe you. They steal the humanitarian aid. Their leaders don't even live there. They live like literal Kings in another country.
As always, stay safe, Alice!! Have you been able to get your treatments? Have you been able to go back to the museum at all? From my understanding, almost everything is shut down because all the reservists are getting called? I hope one day we can go back to "normal" but I fear there will only be a new normal now. ❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️
My love! *hugs* You're brilliant, you know that?
I'm just gonna leave your ask up here as is, because I have nothing to add to it. <333
As for the personal stuff, thank you for asking! I am getting my treatments, I'm going to the hospital on Sunday. I'm currently suffering from a bad reaction, and I hope they have something that can be done about it. As for the museum, we do have a lot of workers who have been called in! There are basically no groups to guide, but there's still a lot of work to be done (research, for example), so a lot of people who normally guide tours are helping with some of the other stuff. Yeah, for now, it's def a weird "new normal" of trying to function with a missing limb and phantom pains...
Thank you so much for your words! I'm sending you endless love and hugs, as well as to your ex mentor and dear friend! May we all know better days soon. xoxoxox

Good morning, sweet Alice. I haven't read anything yet, so I'm coming in blind. I'm also glad I did send my thoughts in before so this doesn't sound disingenuous. I totally expected this but I'm gonna be honest it hurt my heart a little and here are the scattered reasons I noted.
What was the point of the donor story? Because if this was gonna go this way, all they did was separate Buddie all 6A for no reason. And again, I honestly don't get why it was there. Being the eternal cheerleader, I kept making excuses for the 6A storytelling, but apparently, it was just messy and bad.
They stole our couch metaphor. I'm sorry, but they did!!! All of the symbolism was just wasted. That was a low blow. Along with honestly all of the symbolism since the will reveal. Such wasted opportunities.
I actually don't understand the choice of Marisol and Natalia. They honestly just were extensions of Taylor and Anna again in different packages. Even the undertones of the stories looked like the same format as the latter's.
They robbed Ryan of an amazing opportunity for a coming out story. I honestly don't get what it was building, too, if it was this it. Marisol is adorable, but I don't see any difference from Anna, the actress, or the cute blind date. It just feels weird.
That's the short version. Trust me, you will be my therapist the next few months. I don't think season six will be something I rewatch again for a while. I'm so grateful ABC is taking over and that wasn't just it, because I will say again, just seemed vapid
I do feel optimistic that ABC took it for a reason, and a small part of that is the investment in Buddie. Don't get me wrong, it's all an investment, but the rest are pretty settled storylines. So fingers crossed!!
Also, just to make you laugh. ABC if you are reading... I wouldn't be mad if you opened with Kameron and Buck platonically raising BK Jr. (Buck Jr) together. Just some chaotic besties who Mother Maryed a baby. And Eddie spends all his time with his best friend and said baby because also, why not raise another kid together. Then they fall in love, and Kameron wants to get her groove back, and Buddie are overly gay protective big brothers about it all. Till one day, it's Ravi at the door. Then Kamerone and Ravi with Buddie raise kids and build an apartment empire together!!!!
Hello, my lovely darling! *hugs* Thank you for sending your thoughts! If you've read my 618 meta by now, you probably know that I feel very similarly to you...
I've mentioned that I see three possible scenarios for how s6 was shaped, and IDK which one we witnessed. Did the donor story play out as it was meant to, or was its ending changed in a rush? IDK, but the way it ended up playing out, the only thing it tied with is Natalia's name, which tells us they planned for her to be at the birth as soon as she was introduced. And I would be devastated if we found out that this was the planning all along, since 6a. If it was meant to be progress for Buck, it wasn't quite like how they wanted to present it, 'coz once more he was going above and beyond for others, regardless of the personal toll for himself, and then at the end it tied in with a romantic r/s that seems to be the same type of mistake, of jumping in with his whole heart into a commitment before he's sure, based on time and getting to know each other, not fantasy, that this girl really is who he wants to buy furniture together with...
Yep, I said the same in my meta about Natalia and Marisol. 911 literally hit the same beats with them, with even less investment in these LI's. And while Marisol was cute in her phone call, she and Eddie had even less of a build up than either Felisa (the actress) or Vanessa (the blind date).
It would be my honor to be here as your therapist until we get s7. ;) *hugs even more* Trust me, I think we all need that. But yes, endlessly happy that ABC took the show and I wanna believe they understand exactly how much letting Buddie go canon would benefit them and their new investment.
LMAO That was one wild ride, you should def write that as a fic! Sending you all the love. And as always, my ask tag. xoxox

Good morning Alice! I was gonna wait to send this till after the finale, but then said duck it I'm not predicting anything. I'm just curious about your feelings.
So I always felt like if the network was to cowardly to make Buddie Canon it would only end 2 ways, them maybe dating women or just ambiguity single as a family. Basically I never expected to see an actual fleshed out love story written for either.
And well, S1 Buck is single, S2 Shannon is dead, Ali leaves, and we get good montage hug, S3 single and great party montage. OK S4, if that was the series finale we got Buddie walking into a party, Buck not fullying entering, Eddie uncomfortable and the will reveal. As shippers, we would have never bought it. The general audience would have just shrugged. Again, they weren't left in love with women but did leave with a crazy strong bond. S5 single, and now we approach S6. I have no clue what will happen with Marisol and Natalia, but I think we can all guess it would resemble the S4 ending if anything. So again, if they were unsure about renewing and left it open-ended, the GA would shrug, and we would be like "well then here is what really happened".
So I watched that Love in the Air montage like it was approaching a series finale and felt exactly like I thought I would. I was laughing at how vapid these relationships look on Buddie vs the others. 911 love stories are built on adversity. Couples that don't get a lot of representation because maybe some don't think they are sexy enough. That's what makes me love them is how strong their foundations are. They are not built on meet cutes, you know. You can't write a love story for these 2 that approaches touching the bonds and experiences they have already experienced together. I will use the word again. it seems almost vapid!
So no clue what will happen in the finale with these girls. My gut instinct is not a lot of focus. But I'm already excited to move to ABC, where I think they will actually be invested in.
As always, I loved your meta!! Stay safe, and I hope you are feeling OK and made headway with your new treatment!!!
Hi sweetheart, thank you so much for this lovely ask! And for the kind words about my 617 meta! *HUGS*
I agree with you, if Buddie doesn't go canon, the show would never be able to develop a fully fleshed out and satisfying love story with any other Love Interest, so the show would either use really lame LIs (where it's easy to see that they'd go in the way of Ana and Taylor a short while after the cut off point of the show's finale) or Buddie would be chronically single (and each other's life partners). I admit, I prefer the latter. The former just means a break up to get to the latter, and then in both cases I'd just headcanon that Buddie finally had a feelings realization and confession, getting together at some point in the future that we don't get to see. It's inevitable with their love story.
But without a doubt, when we know that the whole (or at least majority of the) finale is the one call during which the 118 will be going down, that means there won't be much room to develop anything with either Natalia or Marisol. And I feel like that's exactly how 4a left off with Ana, and 4b did the same with Taylor. They exist, something has started there, but it's built on such shaky ground (they really did give us less than nothing for why Marisol or Natalia would work out with Eddie and Buck), we KNOW that this ground would collapse under these new LIs after a short while.
I do think the move to ABC has a lot of potential. I'm thinking ABC bought the show from Fox knowing that things are a bit rocky, so they KNOW they need to bring in more viewers, and I'm sure they understand that letting Buddie go canon has the potential to do just that, make TV history, create buzz and bring in more viewers.
On a personal note, I'm just still blown away that my HMO actually approved this treatment, but it's gonna take another week (exactly) until I get my first treatment. Which sucks, I have to cancel guiding students from Harvard in order to make this appointment, but yeah. Health before anything else, right? If I kept the Harvard tour, the next appointment is mid June.
Thank you, darling! I hope you're having a great day, too! Love you tons. As always, here's my ask tag. xoxox

Good morning, sweet Alice. I want to write and comment every day! But my mood fluctuates from anger, sadness, rage, and disappointment that sometimes it's hard to find the right words or tones. Especially because it can feel petty in regards to what you are actually living through.
So I thought you know what I couldn't share anything new with you. Why don't I tell you a story back??
This has been an interesting few weeks in my corner of CA for how many people are actually paying attention now. I don't think Iran expected Hamas to succeed this far and now........ it's fucking out there. In ways that show their evil to normies that can't be ignored. In reference, especially about the baby in the over.
I had one friend call me to ask, what exactly is Hamas and for once listen to me about the answer.
I had a younger family member remove their palestine river to the sea post from a year ago and actually call me. To ask questions.
On a sad note, I have one friend whose little sister is leaving her college and coming home at the end of the semester. We can't be there to help her, but we have been door dashing and locals checking in on her. She's terrified to leave her dorm. With that, though, it's actually opening people's eyes to the leftist extremist on college campuses. At least she can come home and be safe with friends and family. She's not the only one!!
People are finally asking questions and paying attention. I think it will get uglier before it's better. But it's a loud disingenuous loud. There is push back finally. People can not comprehend the evil acts that Hamas executed. And they won't be shamed into moral equivalency it.
I hope you're all staying safe!!! Thank you for always updating us!!!
My darling friend! *hugs*
Thank you so much for this. For all of it. Your words are always kind and meaningful, and simply knowing that you wanna write daily is so beautiful, I feel blessed that you found my blog, and I got to meet you! I felt that way even before this massacre, and I feel that even more since... <333
IDK what Hamas and Iran expected. The amount of ammunition and weapons that Hamas brought with them was meant to allow them to hold entire town hostage for way longer than the 24-36 or so hours that they did (depending on which town we're talking about). I heard estimates ranging from several days to a month. Either way, they came prepared for longer than they lasted. So, did they manage more than they expected, 'coz at first they did get to kill so many defenseless civilians with no interference, as they managed to neutralize the security forces? Or did they succeed less than expected, since they lost control of Israeli towns faster than they intended? I don't know.
I do believe that Hamas (and maybe Iran as well) expected Israel to strike back, but without taking down Hamas, which is what happened in previous cases. In 2014, they kidnapped and murdered three Jewish teenagers. But for a while, the fate of those boys was unknown. The Hamas launched rockets at Israel for arresting their terrorists as Israeli security forces tried to find out what happened to the kidnapped boys. Then, by the time the bodies were recovered, dumped in a field, Hamas used the terror tunnels that they secretly built into Israeli territory in order to kidnap and kill Israelis. I'll never forget the tunnel they dug into a kindergarten. They only managed to kidnap the bodies of two Israeli soldiers. No living hostages. Maybe they thought that if they got away with that whole sequence of events, they'd get away with this, too. Maybe they really believed Israel didn't take down Hamas back then because we're cowards, not because of the cost in human life to both sides.
But as for the west's reaction, I find it incredibly reassuring to hear from you that some people have not become SO radicalized, that the massacre of Israelis is something they can justify, ignore or deny. That's comforting, but IDK how representative it is. Because I don't remember people being this bold in their antisemitism in the past, either. I don't remember that people just flat out said that Jews deserve to die for something we are not. I do not remember Jewish students being this scared on college campuses or in their own homes before this false narrative that casts Jews as colonizers of their own native land. And while I'm glad that there are people waking up, I think others are sinking even deeper into the pool of Kool Aid. I've seen people who I hadn't seen posting against Israel before doing just that, and I have seen people shamelessly denying the atrocities of the massacre... And I have no way of knowing what's happening more, people being shaken out of their apathy to the well being of Israeli Jews, or people even further de-humanizing us.
I'm so grateful for your dose of optimism! I am very much embracing it to my heart, and keeping it close to me, and I will pray with all my might that at the end of the day, people are kind, and they do recognize the reality of the threat that Israel is facing. I'm even more grateful to you for speaking up, and educating others, making sure to pass on our voices to those we can't reach. What you're doing is truly essential, and I wish I had a way to show you just how thankful I am.
Sending you all my endless love, always! xoxox

I absolutely loved that episode and listen, I get it I always want more Buddie scenes. But honestly I stayed off Tumblr most of last week because the moment Buck said, "life if Daniel lived", I knew this wasn't gonna be a heavy Buddie story.
However for me there were some distinct points that shot out right away. May mentioning to Athena it was a natural disaster. Right away reminded me of Eddie telling Buck that. Chris telling Buck he was gonna be OK, such a tsunami throw back. Athena telling Buck "you don't give up", reminded me so much of her pep talk after the hand sanitizer fire.
Also again, just May!!! She was absolutely perfect and beautiful in this episode.
I'm a bit ok Buck finished his journey with his parents this episode. It reminded me a lot of how Eddie has with his family. Also that was told the same way. Yes Buck was there for his break, however it has been Eddie's journey with his dad solo. They both absolutely had the same structure.
Anyway, I'm just excited to start this Buddie story now please writers!! Also, coming from a bit of a waspy family myself, I haven't let go that the Buckleys gave 20% down for Madney. So I can't wait till they have 20% for Buddies new home just saying. Listen, I live in CA, and homes are expensive. The practical person in me hasn't let that tidbit go!!!
Cant wait to read your new meta and as always sending you positive vibes and thoughts!! Hope your feeling ok!!!❤️❤️🩵🩵❤️❤️💙💙🩵🩵
Hi darling, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me! And yes, I agree. This ep was def intentionally packed with callback goodies, and to add to Athena's pep talk at the end of 405, she talks about what it means to be Buck, and that's exactly how dream!Bobby (which is really Buck's subconscious) phrases it to dream!Buck when the conversation gets to the difference Buck makes.
May was absolutely awesome, I loved seeing her in this ep and the way she was there for Bobby, with so much insight, understanding and love, just made me love their father-daughter r/s that much more. Which is especially poignant when remembering how Bobby once said he was nobody's dad.
I agree that Buck's journey with his parents has the same structure as Eddie's with his dad, though I'm not sure Buck's is over yet. I think he still needs to find the right distance for himself with his parents.
I am jotting this bit down about the 20% down payment and I am now looking forward to the same thing. Not even for the Buckley parents chipping in and showing Buck he matters no less than Maddie, but because... a Buddie home! *HEART EYES ALL OVER YOUR DASHBOARD*
Aaaah, I hope you have seen my 611 meta by now and that you enjoyed it! ^u^ Sending you so much love and hugs, too. I'm always so happy you found my blog and that I get to hear from you, and I'm sending you all the best wishes as well! As always, my ask tag. xoxox
