The thing about heartbreaker and Azz (other misfits as well but especially Azz) is that Azz doesn't need the lesson for which the test is designed. Not letting victories sweeten their heads and getting too cocky.

Remind them of the taste of defeat so that from there they can improve for their own good.

Azz learned all this from day one at the entrance ceremony when Iruma defeated him. In fact we can say that in the whole first year Azz only knew defeat.

His fight against Iruma when he met him? He lost

Canonball execution against Iruma? He lost again

The harvest festival? He was disqualified.

Azz was everything the teachers think the Misfits are (they are a little right with some tbh cof cof cof Lied cof cof cof) too proud, too focused on himself.

Although Azz had every right to be proud, there is a quote from Pride and Prejudice that reminds me of Azz "One cannot wonder that so very fine a young man, with family, fortune, every thing in his favor, should think highly of himself. If I may so express it, he has a right to be proud."

I don't think the goal of the teachers is to totally destroy the self esteem of the students but to teach them that they can be proud of what they did but without them having a big head and see that they still have a long way to go and this is what Azz does, he is still proud but he never stopped pushing himself to improve, he had no reason like the others to reach rank 4 to stay the royal one like the others because he was already rank 4 from the beginning but he still trained a lot just like the rest.

He is always trying to improve himself, to get stronger and that's why in this test he is going to move up in rank, no matter what.

i dont actually read a lot of mairuma fic and i havent written any either bc its one of those medias that is so satisfying to me as it is and when i want it i just reread it but. recently i have been tossing around some ideas so maybe. it will happen

another mairuma au because i have no self control. this one is called clara in wonderland and its an au where clara is the human not iruma

clara finds a 'demon hole' in the middle of a forest

it's very interesting looking

she falls down said demon hole

she ends up in the valac forest.

now when the valacs go do some harvesting in their forest they find some girl wandering around in the middle. coincidentally she looks exactly like them

they don't question the random kid in the forest because many weird things are in that forest

despite humans being a myth, they are perfectly willing to believe clara is one because they're valacs and impossible shit happens to them daily

mother valac: ours now

ok here's the fun part

because clara has pretty much willingly entered the demon realm -- and she doesnt have much to keep her in the human, so she's permanently a valac now -- she assimilates into the Demon world much faster than canon iruma

so, her slippers become sentient and much faster. her headband slowly starts evolving to look a lot more like a pair of horns, and her pockets start expanding in the amount they can store.

while she never grows proper wings she can disguise it by latching on to everyone and no one questions it because she's a valac

it also doesn't hurt that she has one of the weirdest diets ever. you are what u eat etc etc

so she gets p good at passing as a demon

babyls: she meets iruma and azz there, they become her friends. love trio is a constant in every single au ever

at babyls she's sort of isolated because she maybe overemphasised her strangeness to disguise being human. no one suspects but now she's lonely

azz and iru fix this

speaking of iruma, he's a demon. oddly nice for a demon, still part of the misfits. his demon parents are an anomaly as they're Not Very Good At Being Parents and so he grows up sort of runty and weak -- his magic makes up for it though and sulli still adopts him so it's ok

he's friends with azz from before babyls; they met at a gala function thing

back to clara

as a general rule clara fucking rocks. she's such a good friend. being human makes it even better because her big sister instincts combine with her humanity and she's one of the kindest people in the misfits and she's the one who kicks off the 'friendship' scene with the love trio

The alternate Delkira adoption follow up to https://scorzaleviathan.tumblr.com/post/654760253764845568/22100-22nd-of-june-2021 and https://scorzaleviathan.tumblr.com/post/657031654482771968/46100-16th-of-july-2021 (reblogged version, now with additional Suzuki family lore ^_^) as promised!

Iruma’s parents don’t understand what they’re doing when they offer Delkira Iruma’s soul. They think they’re offering him a meal, but the thing is, making Deals with humans actually generates temporary power for a demon, more power the more valuable the things offered in the Deal, and a Deal for a human soul is worth a LOT. Delkira doesn’t really want to own a child, but he’s been stuck here for over 300 years, and he really really doesn’t want to be, and he decides to take the risky option and accepts the deal, and then grabs absolutely all the power generated by it and throws everything at breaking the binding keeping him here.

He succeeds and gets himself and Iruma the hell out of there, but only just barely, and he looses almost all of his power in the action.

And like, he could go back to the Netherworld now, you don’t have to be strong to make it between the two worlds you just have to know how. But demons value strength more than anything, and he’s the King, if he went back like this he'd be be absolutely eaten alive, so he and Iruma start traveling around attempting to rebuild his powers so he’s strong enough to safely go home.

Iruma is like “well he owns me now so whatever he says goes but he’s actually a lot nicer than my parents and I expected to be eaten so I’m good with this”. While Delkira is attempting to figure out exactly how to ask this kid who just got fullsale sold to him if he’d like to be adopted. Delkira refers to Iruma as “his child”. He’s teaching Iruma demon language and the word he taught Iruma to use for him is “dad”. He is not subtle.

Meanwhile the Suzuki family is working on getting their demonic patronage back, and they have no idea where Delkira is or what happened to him, so they decide to just summon a new one instead. Iruma’s parents do not succeed in getting someone quite as high up the chain of command as their ancestors did, but quite frankly that would be literally impossible, so that doesn’t mean a lot. Amduscias Poro has a bad day as he wakes up trapped in a demonic binding circle with blue-haired creeps imprisoning him.

After a couple of months Delkira and Iruma come back to Iruma’s house with the full intention of setting it on fire to take out demonic bindings and hopefully also any members of the Suzuki family who might be inside. Part way through setting the place on fire Delkira feels more demonic energy then is supposed to be here, and wanders off to investigate and finds Poro in the basement. It never crossed his mind that the Suzuki family would get a new demon to replace him after he escaped, but now his boyfriend is here and they have to rush to change where they’re setting the fires so as to destroy the house’s demonic binding before it destroys the house itself and burns anyone inside it.

And of course Poro decides decided to stay with them and help as Delkira rebuilds his powers, because he has Delkira back, even if he’s a bit confused about this blue haired child Delkira calls his son. So now Iruma and Delkira have a companion who already is the kind of overwhelmingly powerful they’ve been slowly fighting their way towards. The Suzuki family gets very dead. Especially once Poro finds out that the reason Delkira is so weak right now is and has been missing for the past 300+ years is because the Suzuki family has been holding him captive the same way they did to Poro.

There are two possibilities for what’s happening with Sullivan in this one. One of them is a lot more crack-y and basically just works to get the trio back into the Netherworld, and the other is a lot more angsty and also extends the plot (long story short, just because most of this story is set in the human world does not mean things aren’t going to hell in the Netherworld), and ultimately which one I pick is gonna be decided by the tone I want to go for I think.

Hi guys! Guess I'm back!

I'm really sorry for disappearing for so long, a lot happened and I'm still recovering. (I was diagnosed with lactose intolerance, probably 'nervous' gastritis, and I'm still having nausea and eating problems). Anyways, I am recovering and better than before.

I still need to caught up with the manga, but I'll try to post daily, like before.
