Miko: what's the most embarrassing thing you ever done?
Raf: I've called Rachet "dad" once
Smokescreen: I accidentally did that to Optimus yesterday and he started to cry.
---------
Bee works here too but I believe that he calls Optimus dad (or any cybertronian word for this) on daily basis.

hello! I came across your art recently, which is lovely btw <3 I read the megop fanfic you drew for! I enjoyed reading it and it has lots of chapters. It was rlly angsty but also cute. I was wondering, if ur comfortable with it, recommending other things you liked to read? or what’s your favourite fic so far?
THANK UUU <33
here's some fics i've (re)read recently that i've really liked (in no particular order).. they're almost all megop jhgjdgdhdh:
The Parent Trap by astolat -- [megop]. this one i REALLY enjoy, centered in the tfp universe, the autobots discover megatron had a sparkling and optimus has a mental breakdown bc of it. the kid is also very chaotic. it has just the right amount of angst, the icing on top of it
My Love is a Fever by spaceliquid -- [megop]. this one is set on the idw universe, it made me giggle a lot while reading it, it's a crack fic. optimus got himself locked up by aliens, and to get him out, megatron tries a very.. interesting plan !!
Like a Box of Chocolates by auri_mynonys -- [megop]. tfp !! if u like lots of fluff and married old men being goofs (while also unconsciously terrifying a poor bot just doing her job) then this one is for u !! the ending made me smile :)
Pay Unto Evil by lord_squiggletits (megatrons_mouth_laser) -- [megop]. idw1 and shattered glass !!! oh this one is DARK. it gets dark and it WILL make u cry and rip everything apart. fluffy and also not fluffy at all at the same time. has lots of violence and angst, i really liked it !!! :3
Accidental War Criminal Acquisition by Spoon888 -- no megop for once, set in g1. crack fic and cranky kid ahead, this one is still on-going but is very fun and fluffy !! does get dark at times !!! but it's okay because dadimus prime and dadtchet are there to save the day
Lunch Date by Chuzillla -- [megop]. EARTHSPARK YIPPIEE. this one is the cafe au we needed, crack fic and very silly !!! these old men go on a "date". megatron is confused and optimus is just happy he got to take advantage of this very convenient sale :3

Ch31: Tasty. How could you hit me like this with an emotional chapter.
Ch32: *holds chaper in hands as I cry*
Ch33: Sari with her drawings, and then Ratchet and Blitzwing finally talking!!!!!
Ch34:Blitzwing asking Optimus to look after Bumblebee Hmmmmm. This entire fight was perfect. As usual.
Ch35:he went to go and save Sumdac!!!!!!!
Ch36: Blitzwing getting to 'hear' his trine mates bassicly saying "beat him to a pulp, then send him our way." And just the entire fight with Blitzwing and Megatron, and then Bumblebee coming to the rescue. Everything was just nhcchgdhfhcch
Ch37: dadimus prime at it again. Ratchet and Bumblebee finally talking, and Bumblebee slapping Ratchets head like he would do to the others. And then the ending where Blitzwing and Bumblebee go up into space, and they just hold and kiss one another. A fitting end to a perfect story.
Now I'm going to go and re read Deja vu, and hopefully get back to my own Blitzbee fanfic
(Ch36)Blitz trine mates from the allspark be like:
Tumblr media
(Also, I'm glad you liked the fic! 💖 💖 💖)

Transformers: Age Of Extinction
Rating: 4/5 stars
-
Good things about it:
Amazing storyline.
Pog character growth and development.
Good conflict.
Good fight scenes.
Bumblebee being the most adorable baby bee.
Dadimus prime.
Lore is understandable so far.
Dinobots, especially Spike are EPIC.
Every frame involving the Autobots can be used for valveplug reference.
Almost everything.
Optimus has tatas now.
Pogchamp character design.
Baldy is probably bi/pan and he's cute for that.
-
Not-so-good things about it
Not enough Optimus tata.
Not enough Galvatron involvement.
Seriously though wtf is that guy's name? The main villain guy? I named him Quincy because Quintesson/sa vibes.
FRAGGING EYEBALL ROBOTS HOLY SCRAPHEAP PRIMUS CHRYSLER ME FOUR-TWELVE GET THAT THING BACK TO FNAF WHERE IT CAME FROM OR SO HELP ME
Not enough Dadimus Prime moments.
Why has Prime never used his shin-jets?
Alien tongue scene.
The dogs reminded me of Springtrap (robo-fleshies) which reminded me of Springrap Lemons/Smut on Wattpad which reminded me of Springtrap's schlong which made me wonder out loud, basically... well, I mentioned it somewhere.
Optimus doesn't get enough hugs.

Been a bit, finally came up with something great... What's Dadimus' thoughts on dad jokes and how terrif- i mean how would the kids react?
Omigosh XD but like-finally! Something dadimus!
Okay okay, so dad jokes.
Optimus always finds his resources from non-other than June Darby or in desperate times Agent Fowler. She's the one to give advice, or ideas on how to care for human children and how to spend time with them. Shes a nurse and people's person. She knows the lives of humans, emotional and physical standard wise. So when it comes to the children's personalities, she knows how to deal and work with them. Personally, shes a second mom to the youngest members of team prime, autobot or human :)
Despite being millions years old and being a veteran of the Cybertron war, Optimus is always up for learning new things, such as being a total dad to three human children he had unintentionally adopted cared for since becoming allies with the Autobots.
So when June mentions dad jokes, hes immediately intrigued. The word 'dad' will turn him on and hes questioning it.
June explains that dad jokes are basically cringe-worthy jokes or overused puns made by a middle-aged father or guardian.
Although Optimus is way older than human fathers, he is considered a middle-aged cybertronian sire, so it works well for him.
June is already set on teaching everything to know about dad jokes and Optimus is the star-student, immersing himself in her lecture and taking every knowledge of these cringy jokes and puns. They practice whenever the children are out with their guardians and share each other with the most cringy and such stupid jokes.
Finally, after days and weeks of practicing, Optimus is ready to make his grand finale.
The kids are just chilling out in the kids corner, hanging out and probably playing a game or homework. They notice Optimus approach them and they instantly drop everything and happily turns their heads from their own muses just to see their pseudo-dad.
"Children," he greets robotically. "What's updog."
No surprise, confusion washes over their face. "What's up dog?" Jack asks.
Then, a dad like smile worms up his lips. "Nothing much, how about you?"
Their faces morph into utter terror. Who the hell taught Their innocent alien father this worldly dad jokes?!? Meanwhile, June is howling with laughter in the background while the kid's face are so shocked and just mortified.
Miko runs a hand over her face, grimacing.
Optimus just continues. "Did you hear about the napping vehicular?" He questions and the children remain silent. The Prime shrugs. "I suppose it was just tired."
Miko just lays on the floor, mumbling a prayer in Japanese. Jack is hiding behind his hands, shoulders trembling with laughter and probably tears. Poor little Raf's face has fear marred.
Optimus keeps continuing.
They're stuck in a never-ending loop of dad jokes.

sad boi hours anon here. I'm sorry for bothering you again but things really aren't going too well for me at the moment. remember that ask I sent before where Optimus adopts a trans son? can I have some more hcs for that scenario please? Dadimus prime to the rescue when things become overwhelming maybe? Ratchet helping with the kids T shot bc he's to scared to do it himself? bulkhead teaching him how to play lob? fowler teaching him how to shave?
idk I just think it would be cool. it's OK if you don't want to do it.
Ahhh hi again Anon.
I hope you’re safe. :( I’m sorry that you aren’t doing very well.
Here you go, sorry it took a couple of days. I needed to decompress after finals and ADHD kept yoinking my attention span Warning for razors and needles and injections--
Sometimes, the base got loud. It was a fact of life, and one this kid was somewhat content with. It was better than his old home.
However, there is such a thing as too loud. Especially when Bulkhead broke something. That was the start of a yelling match, almost guaranteed. Even though Ratchet and Bulkhead could eventually calm down and mediate themselves, they still could cause quite a racket.
And Optimus knew his new kid wasn’t too keen on that. He had to find him.
“...Optimus, please?” He heard the tiny voice of the human--the boy had found the Prime first. Optimus turned to meet his son’s gaze with a small smile, instantly offering a servo. The child hopped on, still covering his ears with his hands as he was carefully walked out.
“Are you alright?” Optimus asked once they were far from the explosiveness of the main silo, gently rubbing the human’s back with a finger to soothe him.
“Everything’s still too loud...” The boy curled up more, continuing to press his hands into his ears.
“Do you want to go for a drive? And get you out of the base while Bulkhead and Ratchet to calm down?”
“...Yes please, Dadimus.”
“Alright, sounds--wait, Dadimus?” Optimus asked as he transformed and let the kid in.
“I’ll explain later.”
——
“Where does this shot go?”
“In the arm this time please?”
“Alright.” Ratchet’s holoform swiped the alcohol pad on the boy’s upper arm, handing the wrapper for said pad to him. “On the count of three.”
“I’m ready.” The boy nodded, holding the wrapper on his flat palm and taking a deep breath.
“One...two...three.”
The boy blew the wrapper across the platform as Ratchet administered the T, just as June had told him how to. He put the syringe in the sharps container and put a bandage on the injection.
“Did I win the race?” He asked with a grin. Ratchet couldn’t help but chuckle a bit.
“You always do.”
The kid turned to hug Ratchet’s holoform tightly. “Thank you for doing my shot. It was scary to try to jab myself.”
“Of course.” Ratchet patted his back a bit and took a deep breath, the alarm beeping. “I hate to break up the moment, but I need to deactivate my holoform.”
“Alright...” The boy hesitantly let go.
——
Bulkhead widened his stance a bit, glancing over to his little friend. “You want to keep your stance wide and strong, make yourself sturdy.”
“Incoming!”
Wheeljack lobbed the ball to Bulkhead with a force that the Wrecker responded to by taking a few steps back. “But don’t be too sturdy. Move with the ball.”
“Exactly how sturdy do I have to be?” The boy asked, tilting his head.
“There is no exact in Lobbing. You have to feel it.” The ball flies back to Wheeljack, nearly knocking him over. “He was too sturdy. Instead of moving with the ball, he held still.”
“Alright!” The careful scribble of notes. “Um...how do you win the game?”
“First person to fall or not catch the ball loses.”
“Think fast!”
The ball flew past Bulkhead and right through the wall, finally landing with a thud in the hallway.
“...Like that. I just lost.” Bulkhead scooped the boy up. “And now let’s bail before Ratchet finds his throwing wrench.”
——
Optimus tried his best to father his charge-turned-son. However, there was so much about the human experience that he may never quite understand. And if he does understand, teaching it to his human son was next to impossible.
This is where Fowler picks up.
“Ideally, you want to shave right after you shower, but this will do...” The boy wrinkled his nose up as Fowler rubbed shaving cream to cover his cheeks. “The moisture makes it a lot easier.”
“This stuff stinks.” The boy barely held back a sneeze.
“I know, I buy cheap shit.” Fowler laughed as he turned the kid so he faced the mirror, grabbing the razor. “We can get you something nicer when we get your own bottle, though.”
Fowler carefully demonstrated how to hold the razor, what directions to go in, and how often to rinse the blade.
“Fowler?” The boy asked as he applied the moisturizer as Fowler instructed.
“Yeah, kid?”
“...Thanks for helping Dad teach me stuff. I know you don’t have to, and you probably don’t want to—.”
“Oh no, I do want to.” Fowler joked a bit. “Your father is a giant walking disaster.”
“You don’t mean that.” The boy snorted.
“...For the most part, I don’t. But regardless, sometimes he needs a human touch to his parenting.”
“...Yeah, I guess it’d be weird for Dad to try to teach me how to shave my face.”

5. What is a character you love, but don’t think you can write?
Oh man. It would have to either be Optimus, or Soundwave. I absolutely adore Soundwave as a character, but I don't think I could do it with any sort of justice. I love the various incarnations of him, but G1, IDW, and Primeverse will always be my loves. I love Primeverse especially for the aesthetic- and Barawave (Gladiator-versed Soundwave.) G1 was just so delightfully done with everything, as he single-handedly kept the Decepticons from falling into complete anarchy.
Plus, his IDW verse is competent and compassionate- and I just... ugh. He's so good, but I'm so bad at him. LOL.
And Optimus just has so many facets depending on which verse you pull him out of. I love his G1 persona, as no one can beat Dadimus Prime, but I also feel for Primeverse Orion, as well as some forms of IDW. I just wish they wouldn’t make him into such a 2D hero. There’s so much possibility for character development that’s just not utilized for Optimus. And that makes me sad D:
18. What is one thing you’d wish to see more in the rp community?
I wish there were more RPers out there my own age. I absolutely adore finding new friends and finding people who are just now entering the fandom, as well as finding those that have been in there a while. But it feels like at some point, you start getting pushed out of a fandom because you're too "old" to be in it.
Like, brah- no, please no. I've been in Transformers hell since I was twee, and now that I've got disposable income that I can actively buy the things I wanted as a kid? That I'm gonna leave?
Nah. I want to continue to contribute to the community and share what I know, what I've learned, and what I've made. That's the point of a community, is to come together and share things and band together. If you can't pass stuff on, what's the point.
Anyway, t;dr I'm old and I ranty mcrant about it. ♥
21. What time of the day is your favorite to write?
Probably late afternoon, early evening. I'm not really coherent before ten a.m- so anytime after that, including into the hours of the wee morning when I'm on my weekend is when ALL the creative juices are flowing and I wanna do ALL the things. Sometimes I get second winds and I don't go to sleep because I was in the middle of a thread and I did not want to let go.

Transformers Prime 15 Day Challenge: Day 3
Let’s get the obligatory ones out of the way. Besides, you’re probably itching to do them. Who’s your favorite Autobot and why? What drew you to them? - - - When I first started watching the series, I was completely enthralled with the refreshed realization of Optimus Prime. I mean, the design of him was jaw dropping, but his character was literally everything is ever wanted from a Prime without sacrificing the personality traits I already loved from him and he even had really great story elements and character development what the hell????? But, the shock of Hot Dadimus Prime eased off after the initial arc, and more plot came easing in along with characters to further it all along. And then Wheeljack blew in like a solar wind and I completely lost my goddamn mind. Wheeljack has long been a favorite of mine since G1 was a thing, but it's been forever since anyone really did his character justice. The Armada version was weirdly a Con for some reason and he kind of vanished for a long while before Bayverse tried to revamp him into Que and then he died really quickly and ?????? Then Prime. Oh. My. PRIMUS. He had refreshed his style while still keeping g the classic colors and his most iconic visual traits were given a boost, he had call backs to his explosive inventing roots and his somewhat unorthodox means of getting the job done. The SWORDS. The SASS! But even more so, his arrival triggered some of the best character development in Ratchet. And made the grumpy medic stand out in a whole new light to me that I would have completely missed of not for Jackie poking the bear. Long story short, Wheeljack is my Prime Autobot bae, and I love every inch of him.

How does Dadimus comfort each of the kids after a particularly bad day and how would they repay the favour after he has a bad day himself?
Oof! My heart!
All three of them have different ways of showing when they need comfort. Optimus is good at reading people and knows when one of his comrades is in the dumps. However, he isn't considered a comforter, per say. Millions of war has kind of taken away the basic emotions of Optimus or Orion used to have.
He still has those gentle tones and understanding empathy, but he is in no way of a physical or emotional comforter, but damn does he try when it comes to his family.
Lets start, shall we? :)
Miko
I wanna think Miko knows what she needs. Shes firm if she wants to be alone and I think Optimus knows it. However, being firm can be a huge misunderstanding sometimes. Shes firm about hanging out or doing something together, not because shes being forceful, but because she needs someone to talk to. She wants someone to listen to her and hear her. But she also knows that her friends can't always do that. And her parents are miles away from her. So where does she go?
To Optimus.
And after awhile of Miko practically pleading to him to hang out and do whatever, he starts to see how Miko expresses her needs through activities. It takes a moment and he wasn't sure why she was asking him to draw him or paint on his frame, but he realizes that she talks a lot about things team Prime don't know except him and Jack and Raf.
It really does sadden him when he sees this precious teenager go through life and have a different approach on how she expresses her challenges. Most people can't see that and it destroys them immensely. But he tries to be there every step of the way.
He always notices that Miko's hands are always doing something whenever hes with her and theres a revelation to that little hint. Its some thing that distracts her while she's pouring out her life. But Optimus knows it to keep her grounded while she's talking.
They seem to know a secret code of some sort. There's always a day where Miko will walk up to Optimus and ask him to do something, and it clicks to his processor that she needs a hearing ear. And hes always on point of that. He'll drop everything to help her. Be a ear or just someone to near her. He'll let her hang around his shoulder plate or let her hug his digit whenever she needs physical affection.
Jack
Jack is a lot like Optimus in many ways. He suffers through silence and wont talk about his difficulties. Hes never mentioned about his life problems, but everyone has breaking points and Jack is no different.
There's a moment where Jack comes to the base with tiredness etching his pale face. Arcee notices, Ratchet and then everyone does, but he flat out refuses to say anything. Stubborn boy.
Optimus is the only one that hasn't asked about what was wrong with him, because he can practically see what the boy is doing. He's no stranger to this type of suffering. It kills him inside because this suffering silence is a slow kind of painful type. It destroys from the inside and out.
He notices that Jack takes it slow and prefers it that way. It takes a lot of time but he finally cracks a little part of Jack. The fruits of his labor is finally here and he wouldn't want it any other way.
It starts out small but Optimus knows how wary Jack is with this personal information. He just nods and listens. The thing is that Jack isn't venting, he just seems lost and confused and thats what makes Optimus understand him more.
Jack is that kind of person who is always seeking for advice. Its difficult because he doesn't have a father to teach him those advices. His mom has always been his steady rock but things become unsteady when it becomes the world growing men.
And while Optimus is no where near Jack's species, he does try his best to give fatherly advice. Though it comes out natural than what Optimus think it sounds like. Jack feels a lot better after the talk between him and Optimus and rather enjoys there time together. However he isn't really the one to verbally ask for help, so Optimus always have to keep an Optic out when Jack is one of thise predicaments. They're not very affectionate but Jack does pat Optimus' pede. And though it's not much, Optimus knows that it's Jack way of affection and he cherishes it greatly.
Raf
Raf is those kids whose teachers and his parents have to go to him when hes troubled. Even though Raf will say hes fine every time someone asks him if he's okay, hes not really. It frustrates the crap out of Ratchet and it concerns Bumblebee. Eventually they'll give up and let the kid come to them, but the Prime knows;he sees it. And he doesn't like it.
The more they try to pry it out of him the more he seals his problems. He doesn't want to cause more trouble from what he's experiencing. At first, Optimus is light and soft. But then after awhile of not being able to get Raf to open up, he has to be firm. Why.
Raf is shrugging at the question and simply gives him a very vague answer. Like "just school" or "just tired" but Optimus knows that its more than that. Hes patient as ever and let's Raf play that game. Soon enough, there's a snap in Raf and it completely unfolds. He's tired, he's frustrated, he wants someone to hug him and just comfort him.
It breaks Optimus' spark but he knows that letting go will help him. He sits through the tears and frustrated talks and just listens. Soon, Optimus finds himself expressing more physical affection towards the youngest team member. He's scooping up the poor and tired boy and letting Raf rest of his tired head against his warm chassis, allowing his spark to beat soothingly against Raf's ear. It takes a lot out of the boy but he relaxes and finds himself at peace. Whenever Raf is need of attention, Optimus understand and learns that Raf is a boy and needs the affection that he lacks of. Unfortunately, Raf isn't the person to ask, so whenever he and Raf are alone, he'll scoop him up and allow the boy hang around or nap on him if he's tired.
Optimus
After hes all done dealing with lovable children, hes all alone and ready to greet the inescapable sound of silence. Hes willing to sit by himself and contemplate life and the consequences he's experienced during his long years. Unfortunately (fortunately) all three children see him alone and that will just not do! Sure, hes older than millions of lives combined but that doesn't mean that their dad won't suffer alone.
Optimus very surprised when he sees Jack, Miko and Raf climbing him and perch themselves on his shoulder. Miko and Raf wraps their arms around Optimus' face while Jack is placing a hand on the side of his faceplate. It's simple but Optimus finds himself closing his optics and leaning to their small hugs.
He feels at peace, enjoying the comforting presence of his human children. His children is all it takes for his demons to flee and it takes just a minute to feel determine to defeat this war and bring peace to his world, just as the human children gave him.

Here is what the kids call my highly disorganized, half-baked list of stuff that could have been done with Jack to make him a better character.
@yeetmetothehell I am sorry if you are disappointed by my ideas.
“Optimus was more like...Jack.” OK…so show us that.
In my opinion...Jack seems like he was intended to be written to be almost a parallel to Orion’s journey to becoming Optimus Prime, at least how he is used in the plot. Jack is described as “smart and responsible”, which can also be read as “hardworking and responsible” and really this can be achieved in narratively using a few points, IMO:
Long hours in his room/the library studying outside of work and school.
Filling out the background of the garage more with sketches/print outs of motorcycle blueprints (to keep the idea that Jack really wants a motorcycle and show hints of extreme dedication, but they’re kept in the garage rather than his room to metaphorically show that distance he’s put between himself and what he wants)
“Man of the House”/”Grew up too fast” (This will be discussed more later but TL;DR “I’ll handle the electric bill this month, Mom”)
Somewhat fragile work/school/life balance that Jack somehow perfectly maintained before meeting the team
Orion was very physically passive. Jack seems to be intended to be written as passive but it comes off as an apathetic reluctance that Orion doesn’t possess (Orion may not believe in violence but he clearly wasn’t unwilling to communicate his thoughts; it’s how he got the title of Prime in the first place.) However, Orion had to learn to become more outspoken over time probably, so we can keep him as being aloof/reluctant at the start of the series.
“Man of the House”/”Grew up too Fast”
It’s no secret Jack came from a nonconventional home; June is very explicitly portrayed as a single mother with a dad nowhere in the picture. However the situation surrounding Mr. Darby is unknown. The way June talks about it makes me personally feel like Jack’s dad either ran out or divorced June and doesn’t bother with his kid. Dysfunction in the family really just goddamn changes you TBH. (can confirm bc hi, I come from a dysfunctional home) Sometimes you just grow up super fast. Jack probably spent his childhood missing his mom as she worked shifts at the hospital and seeing how lonely and hurt she was. He maybe went out and got a job the first day he could and helps with smaller bills (“I’ll handle the electric bill this month.”), or maybe other expenses like groceries and his own phone bill. June probably makes enough to comfortably support her and her son, especially given her job and the cost of living in rural ass desert Nevada. But Jack still does this anyways--it’s how he copes with his issues after what happened with his dad. Doubling down and trying to be what he thinks is the bigger man because his dad couldn’t be fucked.
This would make the disruption him letting the bots into his life creates more staggering; June doesn’t expect her son to pay bills, but the sudden change in behavior (skipping out on work) would be a cause for concern because sudden shifts like that are Usually Signs that Something is Very Wrong. Especially because Jack is usually responsible and open with his mom; he would have told her if he was gonna cut hours at work, theoretically.
Jack feels like he has to constantly put his own wants aside to contribute to his household. Even if June doesn’t force this expectation upon him, it’s a feeling that he will have, especially if he watched his dad just abandon him and June. Maybe he has resentment towards his dad for this and that is causing some anger he’s keeping tightly under wraps? And maybe the bots give him an excuse to do something he actually wants to do for once or some excitement in his life and that’s why he goes along with it? Lots of options, people!
Clothing Choices: The Hoodie™
You are going to have to deal with me being a whore for costuming choices and what they can mean. The show has a problem with the humans wearing the same shit every time they’re on screen and I’d love to rant about all of them (yeah yeah I get it saving money) but I’m focusing on Jack right now. Give Jack a hoodie 2020. A grey one or some other dull and drab color. And make him actually always wear the hood (except like in scenes where he is working bc workplace dress codes obviously) As time progresses, the drab hoodie is changed to a more vibrant color, but he still always has the hood over his head. And then, at a pivotal moment, the boy takes the hood off. (You could even throw in Miko cracking a joke about Jack actually having hair if you really wanted TBH.) Why this? The narrative is that Jack is constantly holding himself under wraps because of his self-imposed responsibilities. As he starts to become more into his own, he decides to express himself more with brighter colors, but still has some reservations. When he takes the hoodie off, that’s when he’s fully realized himself in this process and thus completes the parallel.
Actually make him interact with Optimus in a meaningful manner.
Arcee can still be his guardian in the field and I think working on strengthening their relationship is vital. But also, if you’re gonna make Jack the confidante holding the key to Vector Sigma, there actually has to be...meaningful interaction. Optimus asking Jack what he’s so engrossed in reading and Jack explaining the book he’s got with passion before shutting himself up and saying “it’s kinda dumb though” or something. And Optimus just responds “I don’t think it’s dumb, tell me more.” Coaxing him towards more self-discovery and expression. Optimus maybe sees more of his old self in Jack and starts attempting to be a quasi-paternal figure without really thinking about it because he is, after all, Dadimus. Jack maybe lashes out about how he doesn’t need Optimus to be his dad and that makes the space between them tense for a while. Eventually Jack comes to apologize and maybe there’s an important Talk.. Just a few ideas I will expand on later. I feel like forgiveness and lack thereof is a good theme--I know I was held back for a long time because of how convoluted the concept of forgiveness is with family.
The Character Arc
So, what would Jack’s character development throughout the events of season 1 be? My basic idea for a Jack arc that mirrors Orion’s self-realization and coming into Prime-hood without being a carbon copy is essentially:
Jack is portrayed as a responsible, hardworking, studious teenager who constantly turns down chances for fun and excitement to handle his responsibilities. Has clear dreams for after high school and for his own personal life; but he’s constantly contemplating and changing his mind about whether he will or not because he’s extremely dedicated to helping his mom and all that. However, he still gets super curious about Arcee and gets swept up by her in the Vehicon chase, and he still has whispers of courage and protects Raf during the altercation. He first tries to ditch Team Prime because he’s concerned about his responsibilities, but eventually returns because he’s drawn to the opportunity to finally go buck wild for once in his life (even if he spends his time being hesitant about everything.) His hesitancy and dedication to severe self-imposed responsibility is a result of his inability to move on from what his dad did to him and his mom; he’s under the impression that he 1) Has to forgive someone to move on, and thus 2) He cannot move on because his dad isn’t there to bother to say sorry and take on his position as Dad. In essence, he becomes less the character telling Miko to stop and more the character being pushed by Miko to be more adventurous. In lulls in action, Optimus starts to take interest in him when he notices his constant hesitance to express himself and is just being dragged along rather than going willingly. Has a conversation with him about a book Jack’s reading, which Jack attempts to shut down because it’s “dumb and childish,” but Optimus urges him to continue. The idea that June knows about Arcee as a bike and Jack explaining that he bought a motorcycle as a fixer-upper for dirt cheap can stay. (He probably still is saving up for his motorcycle.)
The longest portion, after Optimus starts interacting with Jack on a level of bonding and gently coaxing him to be himself— Jack becomes more outspoken and he’s shown as curious, analytical, quick witted, and has a deep sense of justice. Being young and craving a childhood lost to his trauma and self-imposed obligations to help his mom with running the household, he suddenly starts spending more time at the base pursuing hobbies and going on missions rather than studying and work, which concerns June. She tries to press Jack, and is met with what can be described as typical teenage headbutting that gets progressively worse. She grounds Jack after the fight, MECH takes her, the rescue happens. (That makes sense to stay in this narrative IMO.) Around this time, Optimus has effectively started becoming Jack’s own Alpha Trion—teaching him things that he’s picked up that he may feel apply to Jack. Jack interprets one of these lessons as Optimus trying to be “dad” and he’s not having it. Makes it VERY clear that he does not need a dad (“didn’t need one before and sure as fuck don’t need one now”) and definitely snaps at Optimus, which then pushes his progress in the arc closer to the end. He eventually comes back to apologize, and Optimus forgives him. He and Optimus have a heart-to-heart about one of the hardest lessons Optimus has had to learn—how to let go of the past without forgiving those who have hurt you and refuse to make amends, so that you may determine your own future. It’s very clear he’s talking about Megatron, even though he never says his name. Jack takes this lesson to heart.
His final bit of development before the hood removal thing probably happens during the events of “Rock Bottom” and reinforces that hard lesson, right when he’s faced with the option to off Megatron. Maybe there’s some taunting about how Optimus preaches softness and forgiveness too much when Jack refuses to kill him. Jack gets angry, and he’s about to fucking do it. But then he stops, takes a breath, and says “Optimus doesn’t preach forgiveness, he preaches moving on from those who refuse to move on themselves. He will never forgive you, but he’s learned to live on despite what you’ve done.” Soon after this, when Megatron comes to the base, Jack takes off his hood, stares Megatron right in the face, and says “This is not forgiveness, Megatron. Don’t you forget that.” Later, when Optimus gives him the key, he tells him something along the lines of “you have grown since we’ve met, Jack, and even though there is still a long way for you to go...” he hands Jack the key. “...Remember that even I am a work in progress.”
Anyways this is again, half-baked. And needs lots of polishing. But it’s something.

I know it’s not really possible, but imagine if Dadimus prime had sparklings that died in the war and reincarnated into the tfp kids, would he suspect it or just be completely oblivious?
Bro that would be so sad and amazing XD
Like...okay, Optimus is just baffled on how Miko, Jack and Raf are literally the personality of his previous children. It actually aches his spark looking at the human children...they were just like his own...
He becomes increasingly suspicious when he hears their laughs in the human children's laughs. Maybe its all in his head....maybe because he misses them...
Then it becomes unbearable cause his long-buried sire protocols reacts hugely when either of them are hurt or sad. He desperately wants to comfort them, hug them and tell them that everything will be alright, but he can't...its not them.
He finally snaps when Miko draws Raf, Jack and herself as Cybertronians and it looks just like his own children. He practically begs them to stop. He cant take this anymore. All he sees is his children in the human children, flashing to sparklings to humans.
"Why are you doing this?" Optimus demands, voice broken with grief.
Why are they taunting him? Why are they giving him such unwanted memories, yet such precious ones as well?! Why? Whywhywhywhy???
They look at each other with confusion.
"What do you mean?" Raf asks meakly.
"Stop! why are you doing this??!! They're dead! You can't be them!"
"Can't be what?" Miko asks, her voice resembling one of his sparklings.
"My children!" He roars.
He's breathing hard and his chassis is heaving up and down. It hurt. It hurt so bad...
My children....
He was expecting shocked and somewhat hurt expressions on their tiny faces, but instead, they just smile softly at him, as if they were waiting for him to break.
"Oh, sire," Miko sighs, giving Optimus the chills at the notion of calling him sire.
"We've always been with through you...always," Jack says solemnly, shaking his head. "Even after you left us for dead..."
Optimus jerks and suddenly hes in the dark, lying in his berth...
He feels tears rolling down his metal cheek plates. It was just a dream...just a nightmare...
Optimus sits up and he holds his helm in his servos, allowing his tears to fall to the ground.
Maybe it wasn't a nightmare...maybe its real...maybe they do know him and they're playing the oblivious game...
