Karna and Colin are fascinating mirrors of one another, just complete reversals and inverses.
They are people of no national allegiances in the end, and they play to whoever side has an open seat that serves their goals and needs. Karna from Fructera to Vegetania to Ceresia to the Meat Lands. Colin from the Dairy Islands to Vegetania (which recognizes his knighthood) to Fructera (where Raphaniel was sent).
Both grew up with nothing as impoverished on the streets, are of the commonfolk. Karna considers herself fully an orphan of Fructera, and she rejects Amangeaux trying to position Karna as a daughter. She is the daughter of no one but the streets of Comida. Colin has struggled under the weight of his ancestry because the powers that be value lineage so deeply and will see him as a threat merely for his grandfather's identity—even as this lineage is nothing to him. He was orphaned by those powers that be for simple fact of birth; he is trying to orphan himself and make himself a descendant of no one of consequence.
They both have great disdain for those who as dismissive of shedding the blood of the commonfolk as a price for their games, disdainful of the exceptionalism of the powerful. But where Karna leans into ensuring an equality of bloodshed, the nobles will bleed as much as the commonfolk, Colin leans into his solidifying morals and is compelled toward a more traditional defense of the common people.
They both avoid the spotlight and direct attention, but they run in opposite directions with power. Karna works toward it, eager to play the game and hungry in her ambitions. Colin runs from it, anxious of its pull and fearful of what it asks people to do. They've both held the position of Deli's skáld, and their (for lack of a better term) preferred playstyle in this game takes the form of advisement.
The men they succeed are ghosts, dead but not gone. Karna kept a specter of Ja'Cru Dite, puppeteering his face and voice for her own ends. (Interesting that she is, now, a Phantom rogue.) Lucas Fontina, Colin's grandfather, haunts Lacramor with such presence that his apparently illegitimate son was tortuously murdered in response, and their deaths haunt Colin.
Death, an early one, hangs over them both. Wasting away in the service of the Hungry One, now believing it can be kept at bay and finding hope in that. Fearing of suffering the tortuous death of his grandfather and father, now no longer caring about this consequence and clearly finding a freedom in it.
Both have spent so much of their lives motivated by survival and made so many choices for their own self-preservation. Karna now finds that Deli is the first thing she has desired beyond that. Colin is focused beyond that on "[making] a difference with the people who did this to him" and working against the Sanctus Putris, now that he no longer cares about his secret being discovered.
They've even swapped partners in this grand game—Karna from Raphaniel to Deli and Colin from Deli to Raphaniel.
Karna has become a believer in some of the ideas of the Sanctus Putris. Colin remains a nonbeliever even as he is consecrated a holy knight of the Bulbian Church in his search to work against the Sanctus Putris and support Raphaniel, who advocates for this smoothie oblivion. The two of them work in tandem with opposing sects, each who preach conflicting eschatologies and apocalypses.
I feel like I'm missing so many other parallels and reverses between them, but this is already is such a strong basis of the inverse between them.

D20 Cookie Cutter / 20 sided die / 20 sided dice / cookies / nerd / gift / dungeons and dragons inspired This is a 2 piece D20 cookie cutter. It is in 2 pieces because that is the easiest method for making the cookies without having to fight to get the cookie out. There are multiple ways you can use the two, but the suggested is: 1) Roll out a large amount of dough 2) Flour the dough and the cookie cutter 3) Press the Imprint into the dough 4) Remove the Imprint and then use the cutter to cut out cookie 5) Move the cookie to a tray using a spatula

Affaticamento nell'Old School
Tumblr media
Semplice.
Variazioni
Le armature più pesanti incrementano la Fatica oppure vi fanno partire con 1 o più punti di "default";
Quando recuperate Fatica potete eliminare un numero di punti pari al Modificatore COS;
Il fumble viene applicato solo ad una categoria di azioni (solo check, solo TxC o solo TS);
Se effettuate un check COS non guadagnate punti Fatica quando fate qualcosa di faticoso;
Quando il totale di Fatica eguaglia la COS (o la COS + Livello, se volete) il Personaggio è esausto.

The possibility that Colin is Lucas Fontina's son or heir is interesting in that this being true would pretty automatically change his relationship to the other members of the party, both in-game and on a narrative-thematic level, and position him as an interesting counterpoint and contrast to each of them. So, speaking from in the time between episodes two and three...
If Colin has any political value or weight in the islands, and if he has a claim over any amount of territory there, or even can be leveraged as a figurehead to re-ignite the usurpation attempt Fontina made, Colin becomes valuable to Delissandro as the Meat Land clans are interested in strengthening their hold over the islands they received from Fructera and are interested in annexing more. It becomes in Deli's interest to exploit Colin's claim, even if Colin himself does not want to. It would also provide interesting juxtaposition of Deli being more ambitious and socially adept than his mother, where Colin is less so on both fronts than Fontina.
It feels like it would automatically have relationship to the idea of the formation of nationalism and national identity, which is something that Raphaniel does not like in Vegetania so possibly does not like elsewhere. There is also a contrast in that Raphaniel and Colin would be coming at this idea of masking influence and political weight under the guise of uninteresting mundanity from opposite ends. Raphaniel has been trying so hard to pass himself off as no one to pay attention to, but he clearly wants so much to be someone with power, influence, and ability to pull strings; Colin, if he were Fontina's heir, would have political weight but he is desperately trying to be no one to pay attention to.
Colin as a politically valuable heir that people have trouble finding, or did not even know about, would put him in an interesting position against Amangeaux and her hidden son. Her son would be in a similar position as Colin himself, inconvenient for anyone trying to claim or hold a throne, as immediately clocked by Tomaté and Karna. There's also the contrast in that Amangeaux is someone who feels herself being usurped from a throne and is trying to cling to power, while Colin is actively running from any power and influence over lingering sympathizers that he'd inherit from a failed-usurper.
Colin and Karna are a little more obtuse here as a pair in this framework, but the shared idea of them having actually grown up similarly for VERY different reasons is interesting. It would also, similar to Colin and Amangeaux, position Colin as someone who would potentially have an interesting perspective on Karna's willingness to use Amangeaux's son as a bargaining chip if he is someone who is running from that very same game. It might also yield an interesting contrast between Karna's willingness to use others as pieces in the political game in her search to be a powerful player in her short life and Colin's complete avoidance of the game especially as someone who is a potentially valuable piece and player.
Now, Colin already stands as a stark contrast to each of them as the other four are in active pursuit of power, of influence, of important moves where Colin is actively avoiding any such trappings and interests, but I think this possibility specifically would fill out those relationships and contrasts in a specific and also interesting way.
