creator 2k23 meme
well, for the seventh year running, here we are again! top five fics i wrote this year, for given values of "five" and "fics", because i'm still following the rules of this ancient ask meme. it's for archival purposes.
1. the bells of the choir came in low and rumbling (fatt:sf & fatt:pzn) - pickman/marn, 3k, g. secsam fic! a partizan/sangfielle crossover full of landscapes and vibes. love to write about landscapes and vibes.
2. unsteady (fatt:tm & fatt:pal) - cori & tender, 2k, g. a weird little fic about leaving the mirage and being manipulated by divines. i wrote this one maybe too early in the season but i think it's fun. also features a little game i was playing with the narration, because it's tm and it can be a little silly.
3. bad endings (fatt:pal) - brnine & the blue channel, 11k, t. speaking of writing things too early in the season! lmao! truly though, i had a fantastic time with this fic, even though i had no real idea what i was doing, so i'm really glad folks liked it. brnine is just so in a time loop.
4. other original work! i finished rhr sheriff (lots of editing & rewriting) and got it out on sub. i'm very proud of it. i'm also slowly cooking a few other things, but i spent this year finishing college and then moving across the country for a field job, and that took up a lot of time.
goals for next year: better work-life balance -> more space for writing. unfortunately, doing seasonal fieldwork means that the requirements for work-life balance are constantly changing. it'd be nice to build my writing practice back up, though. maybe i will commit to posting a fic every month or something. thoughts to think.

creator 2k22 meme
year six of this post! (was an ask meme, now i just do it annually, even keeping the very silly "2k". if you want to do this, please consider yourself tagged!) looks like last year i said i thought 2022 would be less fic-heavy than 2021, and sure enough it has been. anyway, my top some-number favorite fics of mine this year, not in any particular order:
some say it's a blessing (OFMD) - jim/olu, t, 11k. this was a tremendously fun fic to write, and probably one of my favorites i've ever done. love to put a spin on a classic trope!
the gardens (D20: ACOFAF) - rue/hob, g, 2k. i absolutely adored "a court of fey and flowers", and it is always extremely fun to write dramatic romance dialogue.
right, so we're going to consider numbers 3-5 my original work this year, lmao. i sold the short story i've been tagging "#rhr curator", which is very exciting :):) and i'm cooking a few other things right now, including another rhr-verse short story, and (third time's the charm) the big central project of rhr.
pretty quiet year in terms of writing overall. but i'm definitely going to be doing fic for fatt and whatever else catches my eye in 2023... and crossing my fingers i'll be able to make progress on rhr again, lmao. so here's to that!
