Support artists.
Pay creatives.
Buy books.
In hard times art saves you. Every time.
And it breaks my heart that everywhere I see that people don't want to pay for it anymore.
We'll be left with nothing.
Paying for art is punk.
Buying books is punk.
The Man of this age wants to squeeze every last dollar of revenue from creative people without paying them a thing.
Be radical.
Defy him.
Fuck the system.
Pay an artist.

PSA to authors, readers, and people who believe in giving proper credit to creators.
Another great way to support your authors and writing community that costs NO money is to report plagiarism and people who repost work without permission or proper accreditation to the original author.
The amount of times I see authors hard work become plagiarized, reposted, or given poor accreditation (such as "credit to the original author") is crazy.
Keep in mind, plagiarism isn't always copy and paste, it can also be:
Changing the names or looks of characters (if it's a story) but keeping the main story.
Changing a couple of sentences in the work.
Stealing the story concept completely (Keep in mind this does not include tropes).
On that note, proper accreditation should, at the least have the following:
A link or statement to where the original work was found (i.e from Tumblr)
The original creator's name (or username/pen name)
Anything else at the original creator's request (Most creators just want the first point and it's not that hard!)
Best way to help if you find plagiarism or poor accreditation? Tell the original creator. They can decide whether they'd like to report the individual or take it into their own hands.

Re-imagining Walt Kuhn's Chorus Captain
I wanted to have a contemporary version of one of my favourite paintings which you should check out at the Yale University Art Gallery.
My prompt: a painting in the style of Walt Kuhn's Chorus captain of a pale female computer programmer with light pink hair wearing muted baby pink clothes, a pearl necklace, and red lipstick looking tiredly past her computer screen. very dark background.
I actually created this ages ago before i even knew about #Midjourney's /describe feature. I might revisit this to see what happens when I use it.

Quote
The activities performed in the sector of CIs originate from an individual creativity of talented and competent workers. Creativity like any other mental work requires intellectual engagement, reflection concentration, creative passion, and personal interest. At the same it is the process of crossing some designated borders, questioning and overthrowing accepted and universally applicable principles or rules, defining problems, and the reality in different  ways. This means a violation of certain taboos, breaking the stereotypes, repudiation of allegiance to some theses applied in popular consciousness.
(Morawsky, 2017)

When it comes to the free market, well, alot can be said, but to get you into a pro-consumer mindset, recognize that at it's simplest it's a three way conversation.
Consumer
Employee
Company.
The consumer SHOULD ALWAYS DEMAND BETTER. Never accept the compromise, never accept the excuse, you paid money, that's the be all and end all. If you're not satisfied, it doesn't matter the amount, you demand better. Satisfied? Demand better. Unsatisfied? Demand a refund.
Why?
Because, at it's simplest, you're not only give critique to the employee of their work
But you tell the company to Fuck Off the employee. You're telling them to reinvest in the product and the employees behind it. Not to line the CEOs pockets. Not to force Addiction Experts into fucking GAMING ffs.
For example, in Gaming, when you, the consumer, buy games with microtransactions, wasn't complete on day one (but was patched later :D!), has content locked on the disc as a seperate pruchase, waits until reviews are out to force microtransactions into their singleplayer game, or the company throws a pizza party where they then fired everyone there,
You, the consumer, are the ONLY ONES capable of changing that.
You hate sexual harrassment? Stop supporting Blizzard.
You hate nickel and diming? Stop supporting Triple A.
You hate constant delays to games? Tell them to make a realistic release date. Not get mad the company forced employees into begging for a delay that barely managed to even happen given the ridiculous strict deadline for a record setting streak of profits company.
It doesn't matter if it's "not that big of a problem" a company is ALWAYS looking to cut corners. Do not tell them to cut corners, even indirectly.
And a developer, a creator, is going through a company to ensure they get work for a field they're passionate in. To ensure their vision can come to life.
You wanna know what killed creator's passions? Why modern gaming is so bad?
Because the consumer is on the side of the company, pretending they're on the side of the employee.
And I cannot put into enough words, how much the consumer killed creative spirit, passion, and energy.
You're the other half of the free market. Fucking act like it and stop being a Pay Piggy Useful Idiot for any company. Have some standards, have too much!
Just stop being pro-company and start being pro-art, pro-product, pro-consumer, fuck, be Pro-Yourself and stoo embarrassing your cringey self by giving money to companies that fucking hate you.
You'll NEVER get good products telling a company "Oh that problems no big deal" they aren't your friends, they aren't going to be offended and blast you on twitter, and you aren't speaking to the developers, you're speaking to the corner cutting company that already doesn't pay their employee's a fair wage in an REMARKABLY unsafe workplace.
And for god's sake, stop pretending there's no ethical consumption in media, you're on the internet, go pirate some shit and research who you're enabling further with your money.

Hey, hey! The organization I volunteer for just launched their funding campaign! There are a bunch of perks you can get with donating to them and it'll really help out!
The organization is called The Pulp Stage, a theatre organization that believes in the beauty of telling stories! I've worked with them for a year now and they are truly the standard of a healthy work environment.
They also make some great content! If you can, even if it's just a dollar, please, support!

From Wired to Worried: A Review of the Article on AI's Potential Threats
As a curious technologist and systems scholar, I was intrigued by the recent article published by WILL KNIGHT and PARESH DAVE titled “In Sudden Alarm, Tech Doyens Call for a Pause on ChatGPT.” The article discussed the concerns of tech luminaries, renowned scientists, and even Elon Musk himself about the potential dangers of the development and deployment of increasingly powerful AI systems, like…
