[Reincarnation AU]
Isabela, sadly: Guys, I have some really unfortunate news. It’s gonna be hard, but I have to tell you… to be able to move on…. Surface Pressure is my second favourite song in the soundtrack.
Luisa: I KNEW IT!!!! See? Everyone likes Surface Pressure, it’s always in the top three Encanto songs.
Dolores: Not for me. My top three are Dos Orugitas, Waiting On a Miracle and All of You.
Isabela: My top three is What Else Can I Do?, Surface Pressure and We Don’t Talk About Bruno.
Luisa, definitely bragging: I mean, I don’t know why you have your song ranked so high - it’s not like it topped the charts like mine and Bruno’s. It’s okay, sis, we can’t all be hit songs. Without the flops, how would we know what the good ones are?
Luisa: Anyways, my top three is Surface Pressure, We Don’t Talk About Bruno and Colombia, Mi Encanto because it is a bop and people need to start respecting it.
Dolores: On that note, what people really need to start respecting is the score and sound throughout the movie.
Mirabel: Oh, I absolutely agree. My favourite sound is Disney’s empty purse after I sue them

Heyyyyy!!! You still do Encanto? If so the can you do Camilo x male reader and like the madrigals throw a party for whatever and male reader knows how to dance so he dances with a girl/guy whatever and they accidentally kiss and male reader explains or whatever that it was an accident. (Sorry if it’s long and too detailed)
~ Yes! Since we're so close to the new year I decided to mix it up with that, I hope you don't mind. And it's no biggie, really! I prefer more specific requests anyway. Thank you for the request, it's the first one I get so I'm pretty happy about that s2. Hope you like it! ~
Tumblr media
Camilo x Male reader
Summary: You accidentally kiss someone else while dancing. Camilo, your boyfriend, sees it. Misundertandings ensue. (You make up at the end, though, so don't worry!)
Word count: 1830.
Genre: Emotional hurt/comfort(?)
Author's notes: This might be a bit ooc, I'm not too sure, it's been a while since I've interacted with anything Encanto! Also, I used the word "parce" at some point, I've heard it's similar to "bro" in English or "mano" in Portuguese. I say it a lot so I feel it would fit in the dialogue but do let me know if it's not used like that in Colombia. And!! The dance I had in mind for this was cumbia since it's, apparently, a very popular dance there, but it's not really mentioned explicitly (and it could be wrong, since if you looked up that about Brazil Google would make you think most people dance samba at parties here when it's not really true, at least in my experience). And yes, the way the "kiss" happens isn't that realistic but who cares? Not me (though, fun fact, something very similar happened to me irl once!)
Tumblr media
Celebrating the new year was always fun at Encanto. The whole town came over to the Madrigals' house and danced, drank, ate, and just generally partied until dawn. Now, it wasn't as wild as it sounds, but it was always a treat.
This year was particularly exciting for you since it was your first year officially attending as Camilo's boyfriend!
What did that change? Well, not much, only that you helped organize the place before the party, which you didn't mind (not when that meant you could spend the entire day goofing around with Camilo while doing so). But even though you partied together almost every year, there was just something different about dancing as a couple instead of friends.
The two of you had danced for a while after the *real* party started, however eventually decided to switch partners every few minutes as most did. It was just more fun like that, and you were still close enough for it to be considered time spent together. Plus, you were amongst friends, so it didn't feel weird.
Eventually, you ended up back together. After a few short minutes of dancing, Camilo suddenly seemed distracted, staring behind you as he stepped along to the beat of the song.
"You know, if you keep doing that you're gonna step on my foot!" You teased, then asked, "What's wrong?"
"... Oh, perdón, corazón." You cringed a little at how that rhymed. It seemed intentional by the way he giggled after saying that. "Mi mamá wants me to fix something, I think, I don't really understand what she's trying to say."
You stopped dancing and turned around to look as well, quickly finding Pepa gesturing angrily at the upstairs of the house and mouthing something to your boyfriend. After she noticed you looking, however, she stopped, smiled, and waved almost awkwardly. You and Camilo laughed.
"Want me to go with you?"
"No, no, it's fine! I want you to enjoy yourself, you already did enough by helping me with the decorations earlier. Just keep dancing or whatever." he explained, then grabbed your chin and gave you a soft kiss on the lips, grinning right after "See you in a few minutes!"
With that, he left.
'Charming bastard..." You thought as you watched him go, lips still tingling from his kiss.
[...]
You tried to wait for Camilo to come back but got bored after a few minutes. He did give you permission to dance with other people, and you were doing that before anyway, so you were sure he wouldn't mind.
The dance floor (that was actually just the main room of the house) was considerably fuller now that people started drinking, but you still had enough space to dance. Your current partner was Daniela, your sweet next-door neighbor. It was actually her mother that taught you how to dance along with some of the other kids in your street, so you were very comfortable dancing with each other.
You were facing each other to be able to talk better, one of your hands on her waist and the other on her hand. You spoke about your plans for the year, how your relationship was going, did some casual gossip because why not, when suddenly someone ran into her from behind. She fell forward, and your natural instinct was to try to hold her so she wouldn't fall. This, unfortunately for the two of you, ended up causing something quite awkward: your lips on hers.
It was very, very quick, but felt weird nonetheless. You hadn't really kissed anyone other than Camilo, but did this even count when it was on accident?
You stared at each other for a few seconds after separating. She was slowly becoming red like a tomato (and your face felt very hot as well, so Lord knows what you looked like), but both ended up laughing.
"I'm sorry, I didn't- someone ran into me-" She tried to explain, but you just shook your head and put your hand on her shoulder with a smile.
"I get it, it's fine, I noticed. Still wanna dance?"
She nodded positively and you went back to doing what you were before, not giving the event much thought.
[...]
A few more minutes passed, and still not a trace of Camilo. You weren't worried before, but now you were. Did something happen?
"Parce... I'm gonna go look for Camilo. He's been gone for a while, I'm worried." You announced and stopped dancing.
"Alright! See you later, (Y/n)! Tell him I said hi." She said.
"Will do!" You waved, then left.
You looked around the entire house and still couldn't find your boyfriend. Now you were really worried. It felt a bit irrational since it was Pepa who had left with him, so surely she would keep him safe. But what if something happened to the two of them, then?
Before your paranoid thoughts could get to you, you managed to find Dolores, who looked around as if looking for someone while holding a cup of juice.
"Hey, Dolores!" You greeted and she jumped before looking at you. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. Have you seen Camilo around? I can't find him anywhere!"
"Oh, he's mad at you because you kissed Daniela." She explained, then widened her eyes and squeaked when she noticed what she just said. "I mean, no."
Your chest tightened when you heard what she said. So he thought you cheated on him?
"He saw that? But it was an accident! I don't-"
"I tried to tell him, but he didn't want to listen." She shrugged.
You didn't know how to feel about how Dolores was apparently listening to you and Daniela talk for her to have managed to catch that part, but didn't give it much thought. You were more worried about Camilo as of now.
"Where is he?"
She looked around with just her eyes, then replied.
"His bedroom. You should go, he's very upset."
You didn't wait a second before you left, quickly making your way to your boyfriend's room. Even though it wasn't really your fault, you still felt extremely guilty. This day was supposed to be one of fun and parties, not sadness! You weren't even sure he would believe you when you told him what had actually happened, but the thought of him breaking up with you because of that gave upset you too much, so you chose to think about it.
When you got to the glowing door of his bedroom, you knocked a few times, hands shaking a little from the built-up anxiety. You hoped he wasn't THAT hurt.
"Camilo, it's (Y/n)!" You said. "We need to talk!"
You couldn't hear anything behind the door for a while, but it suddenly just opened, revealing none other than Camilo. His eyes were red and puffy and he was still wearing what he wore at the party, though a little crumpled and with some small bits of dust that probably came from a blanket.
You could have cried at the sight, especially with this misunderstanding being the cause of it, but before you could say anything Camilo started talking.
"There's nothing to talk about!" he exclaimed angrily and sniffled, tears starting to fall from his eyes. "Y-you kissed her while I was gone! I trusted you! I thought..."
"No, no, mi vida! It's nothing like that!" you interrupted before he could go on, determined to avoid any further misunderstandings. "Someone pushed her on accident and she fell, I tried to catch her and, well, that's what you saw! I didn't say anything because, to us, it didn't mean anything! It was an accident! She has her boyfriend and I have you, and I would never want to kiss anyone else! I'm so, so, so sorry..."
Camilo stared at you silently as his tears came to a halt. He sniffled and dried his eyes with his hands before speaking again.
"So... You still love me?"
"Of course I do! I love you more than anything, amor!" your face got warmer after saying that. "I'm sorry I didn't say anything, I just didn't think it was that big of a deal, but I should have-"
Before you could keep going, Camilo hugged you so fast you didn't even see it coming. You returned the gesture and wrapped your arms gently around his figure, softly caressing his back as you did.
"... Mi hermana tried to say that to me, I think, but I didn't really listen... I'm, uh, sorry." He said. The words were a bit muffled since his face was pressed against your neck, but they were still understandable.
You let out a relaxed sigh, then giggled and placed a sweet kiss on his forehead.
"It's fine, she told me. I'm just glad you're not sad anymore... Unless you still are?" You pulled away and looked at him with a worried expression.
He pulled you back and shook his head.
"No, no! I'm glad I was wrong! I'm sorry for having jumped to conclusions so quickly-"
"But it was perfectly reasonable for you to get upset about that, I-"
"Ey, ey!" he interrupted as he pulled away, placing both hands on your shoulders. "What if, instead of infinitely apologizing to each other, we went back to having some fun?"
You laughed and nodded.
"Yeah, that sounds better. Wanna go back to the party?"
"Actually," Camilo replied with a mischievous grin "I had something else in mind." He walked a few steps back and looked at the inside of his bedroom, then at you again. "Wanna come in?"
You only raised an eyebrow and complied, following him into the room.
[...]
The idea turned out to be surprisingly mild. You were laying down comfortably on Camilo's bed, with your arms wrapped around him as you watched some telenovela his tío, Bruno, had recommended to him.
"But... Wasn't she his tía or something?" You asked, confused.
"Amor, are you even watching?" Camilo huffed in an annoyed manner but didn't bother looking up at you. "Yes, she is! But she doesn't remember that, she has amnesia! That's like, the whole point!" He said as he gestured at the screen.
"Perdón, perdón. I'm just busy looking at something else." You said, staring lovingly at him.
He turned his head towards you in curiosity, staring blankly for a few minutes before becoming almost as red as a tomato.
"Eres ridículo, (Y/n)." He laughed and gave you a quick kiss on the lips, then went back to watching the TV.
"What can I say? I love you! And you're very, very pretty."
"He, I love you too. Now pay attention to the telenovela or I swear I'll make you watch it all again!"
You both ended up falling asleep together while watching television. It wasn't exactly what you had in mind for the new year, but waking up in the morning with him still in your arms was certainly more than you could have asked for.

Pezmuerto’s “Goldfish”
Tumblr media
[ID: Señora Pezmuerto during We Don’t Talk About Bruno, carrying a fishbowl containing nothing but water and a dead goldfish. End ID.]
Problem: goldfish aren't native to Colombia, so either there's an invasive species in the river, someone brought a pet goldfish to the Encanto and it survived the journey, or Pezmuerto didn't have a goldfish.
Since WDTAB happens in Mirabel Vision TM, the visual details like the dead fish's species and Pezmuerto carrying it in a fishbowl are suggestions instead of solid canon. I’m picking option three: she had some other kind of fish.
Tumblr media
[ID: Bruno sitting on the floor of Antonio’s bedroom, hunched over and wiggling his fingers in front of him while saying, “Oh, he’s creepy and his vision killed my goldfish.” End ID.]
The thing about this line is that “goldfish” is a really natural thing to call a fish. That’s in Spanish, too; one of the names for goldfish in Spanish (the main name on the Wikipedia page) is “pez dorado.” Exact same thing.
And why should anyone in the Encanto reserve that description for a species of fish that doesn’t live there? This is an isolated town where no one can visit an aquarium or zoo, or see unfamiliar animals on TV. Unless someone happens to have brought goldfish artwork or an illustrated book about aquarium fish with them when they arrived in the Encanto, there’s a good chance a lot of people don’t know what a goldfish looks like.* Wide open linguistic space for them to look at a gold fish and go, “Well. That’s a gold fish.”
(In the Spanish subs, the line is "Bruno provoca cosas malas. Es rarito y su visión mató a mi pez," which doesn't specify the type of fish at all.)
Also: maybe Bruno’s just really bad at IDing fish. “All fish are the same” says man with several dozen rats he swears aren’t identical.
Anyway, I looked up gold fish that could be native to Encanto’s waters.
The Encanto is formed beside the bank of a river based on the real Caño Cristales, which is a tributary of the Guayabero River, so I decided to base the river life off of that.
Option A: Leporinus boehlkei, from page 155 of this book on Research Gate about biodiversity in Meta:
Tumblr media
[ID: Labeled photo of a Leporinus boehlkei fish. It is long and narrow, gold with black spots. Its pectoral, pelvic, and anal fins are mostly yellow and its dorsal fins and tail are mostly clear.  End ID.]
Leporinus boehlkei is endemic to Colombia, lives in streams and mid-sized tributaries like we see present in the Encanto, and was only named as an independent species distinct from other Leporinus in 1988. I thought the last bit was interesting because it opens a window for an unfortunately named fish enthusiast to find one and get excited because it looks different from the fish most similar to it. It’s about 6-19 cm long, which is reasonable for a pet fish. I didn’t find much behavioral information, but other members of the genus are omnivorous and adapt well to fish food. Which leads to:
Option B: Leporinus fasciatus, which the Encanto residents would call a mije.
Tumblr media
[ID: A Leporinus fasciatus in an aquarium tank. It is long and narrow, bright yellow that tints orange-gold toward its head and thick black bands. Its fins are a mix of yellow and gray. End ID.]
It grows up to 30 cm but reaches maturity at half that, native (but not endemic) to Colombia and present in the Guayabero River specifically, and it’s somewhat popular as an aquarium fish because of its coloration, its adaptability to fish food, and its ability to be kept in a tank with other fish. (Popular enough that it became an invasive species in Florida and, in the past, Hawai’i.) Also, it can jump when startled and needs to be kept in a tank with a strong lid, which is A Quality in a fish that’s doomed by the narrative. Bonus: it’s very easy to take mije and switch to very fondly calling a fish mija/mijo.
---
* Since Mirabel Vision TM does depict a goldfish, I actually think it would be fun if someone did have some sentimental goldfish art. They show it to Mirabel, who is demonstrably good at getting emotional stories out of people. They don’t show it to Bruno, because he’s Bruno.

They immediately accept and can't wait to bond with the Madrigals more. Except Pepa, Felix, Antonio and Mirabel, she knows them extremely well and the girl often exchanges clothing with Pepa as they are of similar height.

Can we get some more family Encanto stuff? Maybe something with Felix and Antonio? We don't see them too much.
You absolutely can! Let's go!
(Warning, LOTS of oc stuff happening in this one, as we're going over 'Felix's family tree')
"Dad! Dad!"
Félix lifted up the plates as Antonio came dashing in, on the back of Parce, his giant as hell 'housecat' (it was a jaguar, but he acted like a housecat). Félix exclaimed past the spoon in his mouth, hands busy setting down the feed for some of Antonio's many animals. He took the spoon from his mouth, simultaneously grabbing Parce's scruff to keep him from ramming into the fridge. Again.
"Mijo, what did I say about having Parce run in here? He breaks more stuff than Agustín. Now sit, eat, THEN tell me what's got you so excited."
Antonio got off of Parce to sit, and dump the contents of his backpack onto the table. He started to nibble his fruit as he spoke in between bites.
"We have a project due at school, and I need your help! We're doing a family tree!"
Félix sighed as he sat down, giving his hard boiled eggs to a random mouse. Can't have shit in the Casita nowadays, but hey, it was his life, and he was happy with it.
"Oh I know this one, your brother and your sister did the exact same project. You should wait for your mami, she's just out watering some crops. I maybe IN the family Madrigal, but I don't think it gets more Madrigal than her."
"But I don't wanna do it on mami's family, I wanna do it on yours!"
Félix, who was practically giving away his lunch at this point, did a double take at his son.
"You...wanna do it on MY side? How come?"
Antonio adjusted his big, white of paper, clearly ready to get started. He looked so EXCITED, he didn't notice his snacks were being stolen.
"One, EVERY grandkid has done it on the Madrigals, so everyone's already seen it. Two, I thought it'd be kinda fun, learning about yours. Mirabel pointed out that no one asks about your family whenever we go out. Now, they will!"
Félix couldn't help but smile. He raised such a sweet, caring boy. He had more heart in his pinky finger, than most did in their whole bodies.
"That's sweet of you mijo, thank you. In that case, I'd be more than happy to help you out. Tell me what you need."
"Well,"
Antonio pulled out another piece of paper, having a list of things they'd need. Félix knew OF this project, but it always changed, if only a little bit.
"First, we need to make a list of who's gonna be on here. Your parents, and your siblings, then me, Camilo, and Dolores. Then, we need to write their first and last names, and a little fact about them!"
Félix gently whistled. Lot of work for a little kid, no wonder he needed help. Félix took a piece of paper and a pencil, and got to work.
"Well, first you have MY parents. My papi, and your Abuelo, 'Ramone Castillo. You know him, obviously."
"Mhmm. I don't think we can put 'has a bad hip' as a fact, though."
Félix snorted, almost mispelling his dad's name in the process.
"No, he'd kick my butt if we did. Let's see here, fact about him. Oh, he used to be a barber! In fact, that's how he met his wife. Aka, 'Abuela Bonnie'. But, papi just calls her 'Bon Bon'."
"I didn't know how that's how they met!"
"That's right, I never got too into detail with you on that. You see, two years before the Encanto was formed, mi mami moved here to Colombia, where she met mi papi. They did hair together, since it meant a lot to them, and eventually they got married. Hair is VERY important to the Castillo family, it's why papi keeps messing with all this hair of yours when he sees you!"
Félix gave him a light noogie, making the kid chuckle.
"Is that why he always offers to braid my hair?"
"That's right! Hair is VERY important to us, so brushing it or styling it is very important. Some people say you can tell who's a part of the family based on the hair. You, mijo, are blessed with the 'Castillo curls'. I have it, your siblings have it, and chances are, YOUR future kids will have them. Not ONE straight haired person in our gene pool."
"Is that why Abuelo has that afro?"
"Pretty much, yeah. He's had that hair since I was born, honestly. He prefers doing other people's hair. Like you know your tìo Julio's braids? He taught him how to do that."
Félix added his older brother to the mix, making sure it was obvious to tell the age order of who was on the list.
"I can never tell if tìo Julio is mad or not."
"Tìo Julio is never mad. Or sad. Or happy. Or...anything, really. We dunno why, he's just always been like that. But he's a strong man. So strong, that before Luisa got her gift, they'd always come to HIM for stuff."
His big brother Julio was emotionally unavailable, but he was hard working, patient, and ever willing to lend a hand.
"Woah, he was that strong?"
"He can't move a church, but yes, he's VERY strong. He also plays the violin. In fact, our parents had all three of us learn to play an instrument. Julio plays the violin-"
"I remember! He played that during my birthday last year, right?"
"Mhmm. He has trouble expressing himself, but the violin helps him. I have my tiple, and my baby brother, 'Mateo Castillo',"
He wrote down his name just under his before continuing.
"Plays the banjo. Not very well though, he hated practice."
"I can always tell when HE'S angry."
"Hes 4'5, he's got a...short temper."
Antonio giggled at that, and Félix couldn't help but miss when his siblings were this age. They'd always laugh at his jokes too. Where does the time GO, honestly? Antonio looked over the list, lips pursed.
"Oh, your sisters though, where do they go?"
"Ah yes- the twins. They're 'papi's babies', and they're younger than all of us. You remember them, tìa Alejandra and tìa Alexandria. Alexandria is older, by two minutes. They’re identical twins, but they're VERY different. One likes blue, one likes red, Alejandra likes peanuts, Alexandria is allergic, and both are uh. Wonderful. Yeah."
Truth is they were both spoiled brats, but he loved them anyway. Papi always treated them to whatever they wanted growing up, making them absolutely spoiled. But, they still loved their family, and at the end of the day, that's all that mattered. Félix just noticed Antonio was doodling a tree already, planning out for the real deal. Smart kid.
"Okay, that's your parents, your siblings, now YOU!"
He seemed especially excited for this part, and it warmed his heart, knowing his kid was excited about his old man. Félix nodded at him, getting a grin just as big as his son's.
"Right, I'm a part of this, that's right. Well I'm 'Félix Castillo'. Er, was, before I took your mami's last name. I'm the middle sibling of my brothers, son of Ramone and Bonnie, and I'm YOUR papi, in case that's news to you."
"Daaad! You know what's not what I meant! I MEANT, what's a fact about just YOU!"
Félix opened his mouth, only to shut it again.
"Huh."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I just. Realized the last time I've been asked that was when I was dating your mami. It's been a while. A fact about just me. Huh...oh okay, I got one. I've ALWAYS wanted to get into wrestling or boxing as a kid."
Antonio looked up at him curiously, and he couldn't blame him, this is the first time he's ever really talked about it.
"I never knew that. How come?"
"I liked the exercise, I liked the good old fashion fist to fist stuff. I dunno, It just always made me happy. And it definitely got your mami's attention back in the day. I've always wanted to play officially, but life happens, you know?"
Antonio seemed to sulk in his seat, to the point where the rats on the table perked up in concern.
"Is it...because you had kids? That you can't do that stuff anymore?"
"What? No no no, Tonito, no, mijo,"
Félix pulled his son close to his side with a frown of his own. How awful, his son under such an impression.
"It's not because of you, or ANY of your siblings. If you told me to choose between a successful career in boxing or wrestling, or the family I have, I'd choose my family. I LOVE my family, and I couldn't be happier. Understand?"
Antonio seemed uncertain, before he softly smiled and nodded.
"Okay, I believe you. I just want you to be happy. I bet you would've been great at it."
"I have great kids. That's more than enough. Now, we putting your mami in this, right?"
"Uh huh."
He put her name on the paper, still keeping his boy clung to him, just so he knew his previous words were true.
"Okay so, your mami is five years younger than me. Her name is?"
He let his sentence drift off so Antonio could answer, and he did so with excitement.
"Pepa Madrigal!"
"That's right! She's Pepa. And a fact about her, where do I start? Your mami loves chocolate, spicy food, she loves to read, she loves you guys, her favorite flowers are dandelions, she's super good at math, she's super strong, history was her least favorite subject at school, she's SUPER good at whistling-"
"Dad, I only need ONE fact."
Félix couldn't help but snicker at that. Not his fault his wife was pretty amazing.
"Okay, ONE fact, I promise. One fact that everyone should know about your mami, is that she tries harder than anyone I know, to be the person people expect her to be. Your mami is a VERY hard worker, Antonio. I mean she raised your brother, THAT'S a gift in and of itself."
He didn't get to see what he scribbled in his notebook before he kept going with the questions.
"We're almost done! We just need a fact about Camilo, and Dolores, then me."
Félix thought about it for a second, before it clicked.
"Oh how about this-your brother's name was originally going to be 'Carlos'. But we called him Camilo instead, because when we said 'Carlos', he'd kick your mami's belly so hard, she wanted to cuss him out. We still laugh at that sometimes."
"Does HE know that?"
"I told him that once, yes, and he said 'geez, no wonder I kicked, that name sucks'. I love your brother, but sometimes I wanna kick HIM."
Antonio jotted that down with a smile, before moving onto Dolores.
"And Dolores. Besides her hearing, what do you think is special about her?"
What WASN'T special about his little girl? His pride and joy? His absolute precious little baby who didn't deserve boys so much as looking her way.
"Hmm...well, she plays the tiple, just like me. Oh how about this, before she had her gift, Dolores hoped she'd have the ability to fly. She said she liked birds so much, especially owls. It's why I call her 'my little buho' sometimes."
"Thought it was because of her eyes?"
"Eh it's both. Okay, last one is YOU. You wanna gimme a fact, or should I?"
Antonio lightly tapped the pencil against his chin in thought, just for a moment.
"How about we both come up with one! And we see who's is better."
"Deal. Okay, you first."
"Hmmm...I like to collect seashells!"
"You do, you do,"
Félix nodded. Antonio loved it whenever Félix went to the market and got him a shell, brought by merchants from far off lands. He has quite the collection, honestly.
"How about...you snore, JUST like your mami does?"
"I do? That loud?"
"Uh huh. But it's cute, just like the rest of you!"
He couldn't resist tickling his side a bit, making him giggle like a madman as he tried to squirm away from him. Antonio scribbled something down, before getting to the big canvas.
"Okay, we got the details, we just gotta draw! You ready?"
"Always, hombrecito!"
--------------------------
"Félix? Félix, ven aquí!"
Félix poked his head into the room. Pepa had to step in and help Antonio, since Félix had to make dinner that night, but the poor little guy had fallen asleep right in the middle of it. He kept trying to put him to bed, but Antonio insisted he had to make it just right. Félix walked into the living room, about to scoop his boy off the floor, when he looked at the project. Everyone had a hand in this, a couple doodles here, a few flowers, and he himself had photos Antonio could pin onto it. The kid was clearly so proud of his work, describing what his grandparents did and how his own siblings were. But the part that made him stop was Antonio's little fact. In it, he wrote:
'I'm proud to be a Castillo!'
And Félix couldn't help but just melt. He gently patted the boy's head, before scooping him up in his arms, holding him close.
"Pepa, put his project somewhere safe, please. I'm gonna clean up after I put him to bed."
Pepa gave him a quick kiss on the lips, smiling at him.
"He's proud of you. And so am I."
"We make wonderful children, you and I. We should make more."
"After you clean up?"
"Absolutely ~"
One more kiss, and he was off to Antonio's room. It was a bit of a walk, getting him up there, but he got Antonio in his little hammock, and draped his blanket over him. He looked down at his sleeping son, and smiled as he gently stroked his face.
"I'm proud that you're my son, mijo. I'll see you in the morning. I love you."
He leaned down to kiss his forehead, gently pushing aside his hair to do so. Apparently he got the Castillo curls, and the Castillo heart.

For Encanto Milk day, launched by @breannaaiedail, here is a recycled idea of mine mixed with a Milkman Bruno AU! Because I HAD to write something!
And for once I decided it'll be a Gender Neutral reader because I like challenges. Also because I wanted to write less Bruno as heterosexual while in my head he's pansexual.
For the occasion I made that edit too! So it could go with my story! (Inspired by one of @breannaaiedail's edit with a Bruno's head wearing a milkman hat I swear I saw after I got my idea with a milkman Bruno)

Oh! Also happy birthday @glitternightingale!
Edit: a sequel of it here
Bonding with the milkman over anxiety - A Modern Milkman Bruno AU
No warning besides depiction of Anxiety
humor/light angst/fluff/milkman AU/Bruno MadrigalxGN!reader
1129 words
Synopsis: Bruno was a milkman in Colombia looking to bond with someone. He was starting to desperate when he met you during his delivery.
Bruno Madrigal was a milkman in Colombia, an employee from the family’s milk business opened fifty years ago by his mother Alma Madrigal. He actually came back recently, and since he was pretty athletic, he had been charged to distribute milk to clients. He sure didn’t expect to have that responsibility right away after returning to his family, but it’s not like he would complain since it would help him know the town better. He really wanted to have a better bond with the townspeople!
However, it had been the thirty-third house and each time someone opened the door to him, it had been to stare at him with fear, then to take the milk from him before shutting the door. It was not a good way to bond with people.
The more he was failing, the more anxious he grew, trying his best to bond with the next person, only to fail.
Because of this, when he arrived at this thirty-third house, he had already lost any hope. All he did then was slowly approach it with an empty mind, only wanting to put the milk in front of the door before leaving.
Because he had gotten used to it during thirty-two houses, he still rang and waited for the customer to open and take their milk.
When they opened the door, he got pulled away from his desperate state, finding himself in front of you, breathing with a fast pace and wide-eyes. He felt as if you weren't actually looking at him, as if your mind was somewhere else, while still managing to show a nervous smile, chuckling:
"Oh...Nice...The mi...the milkman has arrived..."
He felt your eyes linger away, like thinking of something, before you chuckled, still looking like you were nervous:
"Did you take the milky way? I...You...There wasn't any traffic jam?"
Then, you chuckled again, as if what you just said was funny. Worried, feeling in his guts something was afoot, he asked you:
"Is everything okay?"
"No." You shrieked. "I am having an anxiety attack."
"Oh."
Not having the heart to leave you alone, he suggested:
"I could stay for a moment and listen to you."
"But won't you be late for the rest of your deliveries? I wouldn't want to cause you problems."
"You won't", he assured you. "I'm pretty ahead of  schedule anyway."
It was a lie. But really he couldn't leave you alone, like he guessed you were, while you were having an anxiety attack. With nervosity, you nodded before making way for him to enter your house.
He followed you on the couch, sitting there beside you while you were watching  the coffee table nearby, breathing deeply before his worried eyes.
Some time passed before you stared at him, as if only realizing now he was there. Bruno wondered if you would apologize again and politely ask him to leave. He was half right.
"I'm sorry for asking you to be there while you're supposed to work."
"Oh! Don't be! It's okay!"
Then, hesitating,
"Wha...What's happening?"
"I..."
You stayed silent a bit more before you sighed, confessing then with a smirk:
"I had this project I worked on for months...I thought about it, I filled a whole notebook with it, I finally spent hours writing it and I completed it but...Now I'm afraid."
"Afraid? Of what?"
"Afraid people will laugh at me, will hate me, will look down on me and the feelings I put on it."
Not knowing how to answer, Bruno only listened, nodding at what you were saying while pouring two glasses of milk. He gave you one, which you accepted, while you went on:
"I mean I don't know of course why they would do that and it's not like I wrote that for them. I just hope it'll please them because I loved writing it and like...I wanna make people have fun."
"I can understand. I write some telenovelas with my rats. But people stare at me with an odd look when they see them.”
“You write telenovelas?” You asked, interested.
He nodded with a smile then got his phone out so he could show you what he was doing with his rats, thrilled at the idea to share it with someone who could get it. He scrolled, browsing the videos in his gallery wondering which one he should show you. He was shaking a bit with nervosity, hesitating between some good old forbidden love or something safer. He wouldn’t want you to hate him.
While he was still hesitating, you reached your hand to push on one video with a rat wearing a tutu, yelling:
“Oh! What’s that? So funny!”
He freaked out while you were doing so, silently praying you didn’t choose a compromising one.
“Oh! Maria! Why don’t you want to marry me anymore?”
Crap.
“Oh Roberto...We can’t...Because you’re...I discovered you were actually my brother! It’s forbidden.”
“No~! Maria, tell me it’s not true!”
“It is...This is why I’ll...Rather marry your best friend.”
Bruno glanced at you with anxiety, hoping you wouldn’t hate him for it. You weren’t making any sounds, watching the video with a face telling nothing about what you were actually feeling. A knot formed in his guts while he was biting his lips, praying again but this time for you to like it.
When the video ended up you started to cry, complaining:
“Where is the rest? She can’t marry a man she doesn’t love and be unhappy!
Happy you were liking it, Bruno smiled and started to get a bit sassy, teasing you on your appreciation of the story. You complained a bit more, whining you wanted to see more of it. He obliged, laughing with happiness to be able to share his hobby with someone.
The rest of the time was spent watching the telenovelas, Bruno progressively forgetting about his duty as a milkman. He eventually got a worried message on his phone from his mother, asking where he was, which put him into a big panic and pulled him back into his milkman job, making him get up and run toward the door in a hurry.
“Will you come back to see me?” you asked before he could go through the threshold.
“Of course! When you’ll want to!”
“Nice! See you later after your shift then!”
The door closed on Bruno in a big turmoil, feeling he just got himself a date with a beautiful person like you. “It was probably nothing of the sort though”, he tried to reason himself, not daring thinking you could want to be more than friends with a man like him.
He moved away with his heart fluttering at the idea to see you again.
