I'm uncomfortable with the idea of him going over to play with these men without me there, but I find these bondage sessions really tedious. We don't have that kind of gear, but he knows some older guys who do. Some light bondage with sex is fine, but I don't like the kind of bondage he does because it's way too much for me-and we can't exactly have sex when he's in layers of latex gear, hooded and gagged, strapped down inside a coffin-like "bondage box" with the lid closed and padlocked shut. My boyfriend, "Jack," is into pretty intense bondage (in addition to the vanilla sex we have all the time). Just remember the escort-ad dodge: You're paying someone for their time-for their companionship-and whatever happens during that time is between two consenting adults. But the risk, again, is pretty small, and the rewards-for a foot fetishist-would be pretty great. Busting consenting adult sex workers and johns is easier than catching thieves, rapists, and murderers, and it all but guarantees a police department some positive coverage on the local evening news. The risk of being busted for an ad like that-particularly if there's no explicit offer of cash in exchange for sexual services-is low, CFT, but not nonexistent. I replied, "Well, sure, but you can't just walk up to women on the street and be like, 'Hey, can I jack off to your feet for a hundred bucks?'" She said, "The internet, duh." My question: Is it illegal to offer money for such services online? What kind of risk would I be running if I ran an ad that hinted at what I'm interested in without getting too explicit? So your wife, if you're having sex with her, too, has a right to know where the rent money is coming from.Ī friend of mine who indulged my foot fetish (let me jack off while looking at and fondling her feet) while we were dating mentioned recently that lots of women would be up for indulging it for the right price. Regular STI testing will only let you know that you've caught an STI, if you should ever catch one-it doesn't immunize you against catching an STI. (And sex workers? They're regular people, too.) And while I don't think you should feel bad, PBR, I do think you should tell the wife. So lots of "regular people" have done sex work. Tons of stories were written at the height of the Great Recession about average people doing sex work to make ends meet, PBR. Do you think regular people occasionally do this? Should I feel bad? I mean, sucking 15 cocks for cash just to make rent seems pretty extreme, but aside from some low-level shame, I feel okay about it. I'm kind of freaked out by how not freaked out I am. I don't intend to tell my wife, but I'm getting frequent STI tests. In order to make rent, I posted a few Craigslist ads, and now I occasionally suck dick for money. I am a bi married father who recently fell on hard times. You might not want to guzzle bottles of it, BARE, but ingesting a little safe-and-nonirritating silicone lube isn't going to kill you. There's a brand of silicone lubricant called Spunk that looks and feels-can you guess?- just like spunk. It's more of a "hotwife" fantasy with a guy/guy bi twist. This isn't a cuckold thing for us, as I have no desire to be humiliated. Your past as a bondage performer doesn't present a health risk for the GGG women you'll be tying up in private, SHARE, so you can go ahead and roll it out slowly. When something awesome, interesting, or commendable about you scares someone off-your fun and sexy kinks, your sexually adventurous history-your best course of action is to shrug and say "good riddance." But if you're afraid the otherwise GGG woman you recently met on a vanilla dating app or in a vanilla drinking establishment will panic and bolt, SHARE, you can wait to disclose your history of tying people up in front of crowds until she's gotten to know you better. Should I tell vanilla girls that I performed at bondage shows? I don't want to scare them off, but I also don't want it to come up years down the road and have it scare them off then. As much as I loved the sex/kink with people I met in "the scene," I never found anything/anyone for the "long term." My question: I'm unsure of how much I should share about my past. So long as she's GGG, I can live with it. I just think I'll have better luck finding a long-term relationship with a girl from the vanilla world. I'm a straight male kinkster who used to do live performances as a rope bondage top, but I recently jumped out of the kink community.

“How many days left?”
Everyone’s favorite star stepped into her office and Nina smiled as he closed the door. When she first met him, Nina thought Sidney was an undercover jerk. Over the years, she realized that he was a pretty decent guy. The look on his face wasn’t decent though. Nina primly smiled and replied, “I’m not having that conversation during work hours.”
Sidney moved in back of her, pressing his chest into her back, close enough that he could smell her fragrance but not too close. “I just asked you how many days left, that’s it.”
“Five, next Wednesday.”
Nina turned around, her butt on the ledge of her desk. Sidney smirked, his light brown eyes meeting her dark brown. “Nice of you to have your last day before our next road trip.”
Nina raised an eyebrow as Sidney picked up her hand. “What do you mean, Mr. Crosby?”
Sidney laughed at Nina’s attempt to keep their conversation completely professional. He didn’t have any professional thoughts at all, not since he found out with the guys that she was leaving a month ago. Every time he thought about it, he had to discreet adjust himself. He could see what he had been waiting for years was finally in reach.
“I dreamed of you last night, Nina,” Sidney purred. Nina rolled her eyes, her hands resting on Sidney’s arms.
“That’s nice. I know I’m pretty so I’m in everyone’s dreams,” Nina retorted, licking her lips. She couldn’t resist; Nina really had no business flirting with Sidney like this. It was obvious years ago, after she realized his initial standoffishness wasn’t negative, but because he was insanely attracted to her. Nina loved her job and she discouraged him. Nina sighed; she should still be discouraging him now in case someone felt like she was leaving because of him. But she couldn’t help herself. Nina smelled the hint of sweat, saw the scruff on his face that he decided to keep last season, and she was done.
Sidney curled one of her braids around his finger. “I saw your Tinder profile.”
Nina’s grin turned into a look of horror. Sidney rushed to reassure her. “I was by myself, none of the guys saw it that I know of. “
Nina let out a sigh of relief. She had downloaded it and then deleted it four days later last week. Online dating was the worst and even though it had been a while, just five days of swiping was enough for the rest of her life time. Now, she felt embarrassed and wondering how much Sidney had actually read of her profile and thankful she hadn’t included any direct face shots.
“I understand what GGG and RACK mean.”
Nina looked up into Sidney’s eyes after he mentioned that. She bit her lip and Sidney’s free hand reached out and touched her waist. He wanted to touch more than that but he knew he couldn’t. “Th-this is getting unprofessional,” Nina stammered, feeling a bit overwhelmed.
Sidney stepped back a little, giving Nina space. Then he gave her a crooked grin before whispering, “I can give you exactly what you’re looking for, in five days.”
Nina looked at Sidney again, wishing at that moment she was shorter so that she could pretend that she didn’t hear that. But Sidney was only three inches taller than her so there was nothing to pretend about.
Sidney’s finger left her hair to trail down the side of her face. Nina looked up at him, her body turning to jelly just with one touch. Then Sidney tipped up her chin with his finger before whispering, “I’ve never lost interest, Nina. Whenever you’re ready, let me know.”

the robot problem: a critical look at tobecky, 5 years late
hello wordgirl fandom i am back :) and i have a lot of thoughts that i never got around to expressing before i moved on from the show. so be aware that everything i'm saying is based on my experiences during the 2012-2016 era of the fandom & state of tumblr in general, and i am not familiar with more recent fan content.
it's been over five years since the show ended, and @ifbrd reminded me (along with some great analysis) that while tobecky was super popular since before the show technically started (thanks to the play date shorts), it's pretty unhealthy in a lot of ways that tend to be excused or flat out ignored in fanworks. i'd like to reflect on that a bit (a lot); specifically, how both the show and the fandom approached this enemies-to-lovers ship, and how easily this ship can slip into uncomfortable territory if we're careless about how we interpret the ship and create fan content of it.
i will admit, i'm mostly writing this as a response to past me and my old creations - though i moved on from the show as a whole years ago, i do like taking the time to reflect on old interests once in a while, and reevaluating my thoughts on them. and this ship is probably the biggest one that still lurks in the corners of my mind once in a while, so let's go.
cherish is the word: a short positive note before a much longer negative one
i wanted to start this essay off with some positivity, because i am going to be very negative after this. tobecky was, in some ways, cute. it's obvious from the very beginning that these two characters are on pretty equal ground, even if one of them isn't aware of it. and that's part of the fun - the irony of how unaware tobey is that his nemesis/crush/person that pretty much always wins against him is someone that he completely dismisses as incompetent. i want to point this out because honestly, in general i don't like enemies-to-lovers because a lot of them use a power imbalance within the dynamic, and i hate power imbalances, especially when it comes to actual life-or-death scenarios (at least, as much as cartoons can do that). in most episodes, becky is never actually forced to go along with his wishes. she's not held in a 'date' against her will, nor is she ever really outwitted by him. i bring this up because there is one huge, uncomfortable exception, which i will get to later.
another big plus to the ship is the fact that they just... get along? even when fighting? of course we get brief moments where they just hang out and talk about paintings or whatever, but i'm talking about how much they get each other, even if they don't realize it. like the word banter, for example. been there since day one. becky loves words, and while most other people in her life don't really care (ranging from 'eh, that's cool i guess' to her brother calling it annoying), tobey gives her a chance to show off and thus treats her as a worthy adversary as herself, not because of her more generic superpowers - something that we've seen in canon that she feels self-conscious about (see: her motivation in patch game). one of the less noticed examples, to me, is "it's your party and i'll cry if I want to", because it's just - okay. they both are excluded from a social event, and while it's obvious that tobey deals with it by destroying the city, it's also pretty obvious that becky also deals with her frustration by fighting in that battle. like, yes, realistically it's just objectively bad that he's destroying buildings. but they're also providing each other with a way to work through their frustrations, first by fighting and then by talking things out, and finally by hanging out together instead of dwelling on being excluded from the party.
so it makes a lot of sense to me that many tobecky fans gravitated towards writing far-in-the-future fic, usually by implying that some growth had taken place before starting to write the ship. (there are, as far as i'm aware, 2... maybe 3 exceptions, that take the time to attempt a real redemption for him, at least when i left the fandom.) because if you take away his worst moments, either by reasoning out that he was 10 years old and a mess, or that he was a cartoon character in a cartoon world where everyone's actions are over-the-top, or by just flat-out pretending that certain episodes never happened, there's some pretty solid ground to start a ship on.
go gadget go: we all do not see it, we simply close our eyes (review of canon)
when the show began, i was the same age as the characters. a lot of other people were, too - at least in my cohort of the fandom. i think it's pretty safe to say that many of us have fond memories of the show's earlier seasons, and held on to that interest as we got older, for whatever reasons. so like, not to be all 'as an OG fan...', but i remember seeing the shorts air for the first time in 2006. i have a diary entry in july of 2009 about how i, a 12yo with no concept of the idea of 'shipping', was disappointed in the new tobey episode because i wanted more tobecky interactions. (that was robo-camping, btw, lol.) and so i remember how exciting their rivalry felt, watching them as someone literally their exact same age, and then watching that again as a nostalgic 17yo, and then uh... growing up, to put it frankly, and realizing just how unhealthy most of their interactions were.
okay what i meant to say was, this section is an overview of the relationship's canon portrayal throughout the years.
first, we have early tobecky: this includes the shorts and the first few seasons. this is their classic relationship: he likes her and takes robots on rampages to get her attention, she majorly disapproves and has fun taking him down. we've all seen the show, you know what i'm talking about. his backhanded ways of trying to find out her identity often feature prominently in the episodes, which - sigh, i've mentioned this whole issue before, but it's kind of a grey area in the whole uncomfortable-factor thing, because while trying to find out her identity is VERY invasive, it's something that like... everyone in the show tries to do, even her canon crush (scoops). on the one hand, it's really not a great look, but on the other hand, this is a cartoon meant to parody a genre in which this trope is extremely common. so i just wanna say that i have Issues and Thoughts on this aspect of their relationship, but there are other things i find more important to discuss here.
second, we have late tobecky: this is seasons 7-8. this is... a very strange and huge shift from the previous dynamic, though it's not necessarily obvious. what i mean by that is that for some reason, the show writers made it so that half of tobey’s rampages have nothing to do with his crush on wordgirl, even though that used to be the sole reason for his villainy. seriously. we have the birthday episode, where he's upset because he feels left out; wg vs tobey vs the dentist, where he's mad that he has a cavity; and trustworthy tobey, where his robot goes on a rampage... after becky accidentally makes it malfunction. the two outliers are ‘guess who’s coming to thanksgiving dinner’ and ‘patch game’, but they still differ from previous seasons because 1) his destruction is isolated to a forest far away from the city, and 2) his motive is still to impress wordgirl, but his methods are relatively tame. also he completely gives up on the secret identity thing??? i may have missed some things but i think he straight up tells her 'yeah there's no way you're wordgirl, lol' and the subject is just dropped for the rest of the show.
i also want to include 'the robot problem' here, because it's one of two season 6 tobey episodes, and follows the 'doesn't destroy buildings to get her attention' pattern: in fact, he teams up with her to try and stop someone else from going on a rampage (even if his reasons are selfish, lol).
and finally. the other season 6 episode. we have go gadget go, the bane of my time spent in the fandom. because GGG is the single episode where tobey truly manages to take away her autonomy, and proceeds to abuse that power for an extended period of time, for his own amusement. it's bad. it's Very Bad. put in the context that it's a white boy doing this to an (ambiguously) brown girl, it's REALLY REALLY BAD. and the more i look back on it, tbh, the more weirded out i am that the show not only made it seem like she wasn't affected at all within the episode, it just... forgot about it (which is not unusual for shows and especially children’s shows, but WG does make some efforts to either retain continuity or create canon reasons for why things are forgotten about). it's the kind of thing that you can't excuse and honestly you can't redeem (like at this point, you gotta ask yourself why you're spending so much effort trying to redeem this guy when becky has several other possible ships that are nowhere near this unhealthy - violet, scoops, honestly even victoria if you want another hero/villain ship, my absolute fave rarepair rose, etc).
so if you want to still ship it you have to just pretend that it never happened. (i remember trying for weeks to write something exploring the aftermath of this episode, to try and make myself feel better about it, but the more i wrote the more i realized just how traumatic this event should've been, so i eventually just dropped it.) and i brought up my own timeline of experiences earlier to point out that this episode aired eight whole years after the show started. which means that when i saw it, even though i was a huge stickler for canon at the time, i'd built up my own idea of the show and characters strongly enough to go 'yeah, no, this episode sucks and i am going to pretend that it doesn't exist'. and i think a lot of other people did too, because i really saw like... no one mention it, ever, except for some rogue fanfics over on ff dot net that already liked dynamics like that.
because here's the thing, and i don't know if people nowadays are aware of it? but i'm 80% sure (cannot find a source, so the other 20% is that it was just a rumor) that the show was originally supposed to end after season 6. and even if it's a rumor, it makes a ton of sense, because we get 1) an 'ending' to tobecky, which is a bad one, 2) a permanent wordgirl identity reveal that significantly changes one of the major dynamics in the show, 3) an episode where TJ gets to work with wordgirl and get a nice potential ending for their sibling dynamic, 4) an episode where we see Two-Brains explore life without his henchmen... the list goes on, and idk how many of these are just major stretches. but the point is. if the show had ended there, that would've been a pretty solid ending for many things, including their relationship: aka, it would prove that it was only ever heading somewhere bad, and when tobey finally has his moment of triumph, he is truly evil about it. and this provides us fans who HATE go gadget go with an easy reason to dismiss it - we can say that it was an attempt to conclude things in a way that wouldn't have happened if the writers had known they'd get more time. but despite that... it is still a canon episode.
it is odd to me how dramatically the dynamic shifts after that, though, because we seriously go from 'worst case ever, tobecky is toxic, your ship is dead' to 'no actually they get along and hang out and get ice cream together and tobey isn't even pressuring her into it, she's happy to go along with it :)' like, immediately. i never knew much about the show writers, so i don't know if the writers changed in between these seasons, but i would absolutely not be surprised if they did.
the earlier episodes are definitely problematic as well (though they pale in comparison to GGG) but i think everyone who ships it is aware considering that tobey is, yknow, a villain. from memory, he destroys buildings to get her attention, lies to her about the level of danger that people are in to trick her into spending more time with him, blackmails her into reading his poetry, and he creates a robot based on her that’s supposed to be devoted to him (but of course, all of these things backfire). not great stuff of course, but like... he’s a villain, that’s the point of his character. and considering that he’s a child these are things that can be redeemed, if done thoughtfully.
anyway, to sum up this section, the show starts off with a pretty standard 'enemies with an unrequited crush' setup, takes a really dark turn for a single episode, and then for the rest of the show takes their dynamic in a direction that makes it much, much easier to ship. as long as you ignore a lot of previous content.
wordbot: where's becky's autonomy in all of this? (misogyny)
we've finally gotten to the fandom. i recognize that a lot of this is going to come across as hypocritical considering how active i used to be re: this ship, but like... i'm a very different person now. anyway. disclaimer i guess - i don't write this to accuse all tobecky shippers of being like this - i know a lot of us aren't/weren't! but boy do i have things to point out, so without further ado:
it is very hard to ship this without allowing some bit of misogyny to slip into it. very, very hard. the entire premise of the ship involves a girl falling in love with a boy that repeatedly pressures her to date him via threats to the safety of herself and people she cares about, which... it's 2020, i shouldn't have to explain why that's terrible & a terrible example to set for children (which is why i am glad they never made it canon, tbh). best-case fan content has tobey stop pressuring her and start working to redeem himself out of an actual change of heart, which leads to becky seeing him in a new light. worst-case fan content treats his incessant pressuring and sometimes outright threats as something romantic - and even worse, romantic to the point where he deserves her attention and love as a reward for not giving up or whatever. i did see this pretty frequently for a while, especially in the earlier 2010s (didn't read much, Not My Thing At All), but i don't feel like going into detail here because of how obviously problematic it is. one medium (but still bad) case is where the fan content makes him start his redemption, but treats her liking him back as a reward for not knocking buildings over anymore. another not great case is where she tries to fix him with her love, which is a very common and very dangerous romantic trope. both are just... so incredibly unfair to her.
in content where she tries to 'fix him'... yeah i feel like it's really obvious how misogynistic that is. girls and women should not feel responsible for the evil actions of men, plain and simple. idk what else to say here i just really hate that trope and hated it back then and it just sucks! so can we not do that anymore, thanks.
in content that treats her like a reward for good behavior, there really isn't much of an explanation for what she sees in him. if she just goes 'oh wow, you're good now, i am going to fall in love with you for it' the whole thing falls flat because it makes NO sense whatsoever. we get to hear so much about tobey and his feelings and why he likes her and how he feels about it, but where is that energy for becky? why does she choose to trust him, to spend time around him, what does she enjoy about his presence? where is her getting over scoops in the process of falling for tobey? where is her telling her friends about this, confiding in them, asking them for advice? where is her choice in the matter?
win a day with wordgirl: do you guys even like becky or do you just like the idea of her (misogyny... 2!)
it was pretty standard for all fandoms the early-mid 2010s, but that's still not a good excuse for why so many tobecky fanfictions centered specifically around tobey's feelings while refusing to give becky the same level of empathy and nuance. it is true that to ship them comfortably you have to redeem him to some degree, which means spending time figuring him out and trying to find ways to pull him to the light without feeling super OOC. but ships take two people??? and there was so much potential for fanfics to explore becky's complex feelings on the matter - because she is! complex! she's heroic and kind but she's petty and has a competitive streak, she easily befriends villains but also doesn't trust them and doesn't believe they can ever really change, she's the savior of an entire planet but has feelings of inadequacy as her civilian identity and struggles with feeling like she can be successful without superpowers, she's great at the straightforward meanings and uses of words and loves reading but struggles to write passages that aren't dry as hell, it can be easily headcannoned that she's neurodivergent (special interests, issues with fitting in with her peers, taking things very literally, etc)... seriously there is SO MUCH to explore about her character, and a lot of it comes into play when you add tobey into the mix (literally ALL of the things i mentioned are explored at some point using tobey as a parallel or foil), but i rarely saw fanfiction that explored her thoughts on things further than 'he's evil but... maybe good?' or 'he's evil but... i kind of like him anyway?'.
if you want her to fall for him while being a villain, explore it!! why does she go against her morals? does she lie to herself about it to feel better? does she feel like she has to 'fix him' as part of her superhero duties to the city, and if so, how does that affect her as she tries and fails to help him? does she fall for him when she believes that he's turning good, only to feel betrayed when he starts acting worse because he feels like he can get away with it? it's such a shame that fanworks spend so little time even considering these questions, and it is absolutely a product of how deeply misogyny is/was baked into how we approach media (especially back then).
tobey goes good: but wait, i thought this show was progressive (a conclusion, i guess)
ifbrd wrote a great meta recently about how the show is a bit misogynist, despite being progressive in several ways. honestly i don't have much to add, but i'd really recommend reading through this; it makes a lot of great observations about the ways that male and female characters are presented differently through the show
i have little to add, so i'd just like to conclude with a reflection on the ship from my current viewpoint. i do think part of the reason so many of us latched onto the ship, despite how obviously problematic it was, is that the show treats a lot of things that would be serious in real life as normal or even comedic - which is fine lol, i'm not going to pretend that it's not a show for little kids, so they have to keep the tone light.
but if we, as teens/adults, decide to engage with this content in a more realistic manner, we have to be prepared to confront how messed up so many of the things going on really are. and if you still want to ship it, there's nothing inherently wrong with that! there's a lot of interesting things to explore in this ship, no matter what stage of enemies-to-friends-to-lovers you write them at, and it can be really helpful to have a space where you can explore a dynamic such as this in fiction. (speaking from experience here tbh, writing some fic for them helped me deal with complicated feelings about some ex-longtime friends.)
so to write this ship at all means that there are canon issues that you need to deal with if you want to have them end up in a healthy relationship in any manner that makes sense (unless you create an AU where none of that is applicable, which, power to you then). and i’m not saying ‘write them with a healthy endgame or you’re Bad’, not at all lol. but at least please, please take a step back once in a while to examine the dynamic that you’re writing, and please be careful about whether you mean to be romanticizing whatever behaviors you end up portraying as good.

DB: Gurren Lagann vs GaoGaiGar
Tumblr media
^ Image from here
Fighting Spirits and Courage. Two mens who faces greatest threats to the universe and continue to fight to save the their home and humanity. The ”King of Braves“ GaoGaiGar pilot by Guy and the “Super Ultra Combining” Gurren Lagann pilot by Simon. I want to make a info if one day if theses two powerful fighter will be one day to entering a Death Battle.
(May contain language)
Gurren Lagann:
Deep in space in the past there’s been an Anti-Spiral War between the Anti Spiral and the Spiral Warriors which fail as one of the Spiral Warrior turn his back on his team and comes back to Earth naming himself the Spiral King as the Beastmen rule the surface. Many years past as furries rule the top and humans living underground like mole and with moles too. Till that day is change when a young boy name Simon the Driller (or Digger?) have found a mysterious key and a robot face known as Lagann. Along with his brother Kamina who lead a group Team Gurren (later name Team Dai Gurren) who he said the surface exist which him and Simon day change as a mecha known as Gunmen crash to their town and Simon take Kamina and a hot sniper chick with them to ride in Lagann as they defeat the mecha with Lagann and finally see the surface. Later on Kamina got his own gunmen name Gurren and decided “hey we’re up against a guy whose robot taller than mine! Hey Simon let’s combine!” She when he stab Lagann on Gurren, Lagann energy activate and became with Gurren as Gurren Lagann. (Lagann can combine with any robot.)
Tumblr media
First lets talk about Spiral Energy. It’s a power or an energy that powers up the Laganns and use to create Drills. This power comes from fighting spirits from the pilot which everything that is living have spiral energy inside them. This also helps them to evolve further like Simons mole pet in one episode. But thing is spiral energy that only fighting spirit help the Lagann to move so if the pilot goes berserk or abusing the power to destroy and revenge will cause the energy to overload and out of the pilots control (For example Simon crying and not begin himself when Kamina die). But Simon snap back out of it and recover which made him and Gurren Lagann stronger.
Lagann may be small but for a head with legs and arms and bunch of drills it’s a dangerous tiny mecha. He even takes on the Spiral King own robot Lazengann which is an evil version of Gurren Lagann. Very tough to handle huge weapons that are bigger than it’s body and still function. When combine with Gurren to be Gurren Lagann it gives them more speed, strength, modability, and fly when Simon hijack one of the beastmen jet gunmen to become the robot jetpack with wings giving it the advantage to the air. And let’s not forget the drills it has like there’s like infinite amount of drills on this robot! It’s arsenals are crazy, it can shoot drills from it’s arms, extend the drills like spikes from all it’s holes which penetrated easily through gunmen and destroy them fast, uses it’s glasses and jetpack as boomerangs. But if we’re gonna do something big then once he throw it’s glasses boomerang to hold the enemies to place so it can uses all the drills to one hand to create the ultimate move! The Giga Drill Breaker! It’s one of Gurren Lagann finishing move which it can penetrate through the enemy cockpit in the mech which kills them and the mecha along with it which then makes it look cooler (King Kittan achive it as well to sacrifice himself to get Super Galaxy Dai Gurren to Transform). That’s not all he can use his drill. If it need to swim through water it can use it’s drill and spin fast in water easily and go fast too like dam. It can also use the drills to make mini drills and shoot them like missiles. Like this robot weapons is only a drills that can spawn as much drill as it wants like seriously where and how are theses drills made and come out. (If the drill is broken off it can regrow new one fast)
But there’s more thing about Gurren Lagann and that’s Lagann himself along with Simon too. When combining it uses the spiral energy to control Gurren which Simon in his later age pilot Gurren Lagann alone with out the secondary pilot but later team with Viral who became the secondary pilot. But with Lagann it can control Dai Gurren during one episode when they hijack it and mostly Lagann can combine with any robot it thrusts it’s drill into.
Along with that power Simon can use Gurren Lagann to go bigger if he combine it with “Arc-Gurren” which is the biggest giant spaceship to become Arc Gurren Lagann which is a same size as Dekabutsu which if we look at this image here...
Tumblr media
that’s just FUCKING HUGE! which given the size and the layer of atmosphere it must be by the Ozone Layer where planes and jets can fly high. It can punch object through the space and time continuum with a single uppercut. But if you want it bigger well there is Super Galaxy Dai Gurren (a colossal battleship) which transform into Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann which that battleship size is longer than the moon length but in robot mode it’s bigger than the moon and got drill on the tip of each fingers and 2 giant drills on it’s shoulders! But that’s not all! In the final battle against the Anti Spiral he and his friends combine their Spiral Powers which create the true and broke the record of the most biggest robot in history “Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann” which is a size of a universe. It’s get more bigger to make Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann which is bigger than the universes like dam!!! A drill that size will take out anything! Still he need his friends to get that huge.
So you got a head, put it on a body that has a face, then get that body into a ship, then that ship into a bigger ship, which becomes and inside a giant robot which that robot gets bigger to become a even bigger robot! WHAT IS THIS SOME ROBOT ORGY!?
Gurren Lagann may look unstoppable but it still got some weakness to them. It requires two pilots to ride Gurren Lagann as Simon as an adult then controls the two mechas alone but still get Viral to pilot Gurren. The Spiral Energy is run by fighting spirit which if the pilot lacks any then he’s a goner even abusing it will cause it to overload. Lagann is tough but when fighting the spiral king himself he punch it and rip it’s arms off with force but Simon defeats him with the drill key which leaves a huge hole on the king body and kills him. And Simon without Lagann against the anti Spiral he create a drill on his hand from his own blood and defeat the Anti Spiral for good or use Lagann in the actual episode to beat him.
But we know that when it comes to Simon. His drill is the drill that can pierce the heavens.
"If you're gonna dig, dig to the heavens. No matter what's in my way, I won't stop! Once I've dug through - it means that I've won! ... Just who the hell do you think I am? I'm Simon. I'm not my Bro! I'M ME!! Simon the Digger!"
GaoGaiGar:
Long ago a space man name Guy is on a satellite spaceship till one day an alien call Zondar crash his ship and closely killing him. But was save by the might Galeon kind of his grandpa repair him now making him a hot anime robocop who can run faster than a bullet train and do transformation like a power ranger. Later year when they finally defeated the Zondar, Guy whose body is powered by the G-stone which Galeon give to him recover his whole body evolving him. But with help of Galeon, Guy can fuse with the alien robot lion to become GaiGar.
Now G-Stone is an energy source stone that was made from a planet call Green Planet. It was use for the GGG for technology energy or other word infinite battery source. The energy works by turning courage into energy. And Guy has alot of courage in him.
GaiGar possesses jetpack for dodging, speed, and sharp lion claws for combat but can call upon the Gao Machines to help with flying and to thrust drills with it’s arms too. There’s many Machines but recent ones are the Genesic Gao Machines which Galeon became Genesic Galeon to Genesic GaiGar. which possess same moves but upgraded to become stronger with Guy along with it. When Guy calls to Final Fusion he can combine with the machines to become the reborn legendary King of Brave GaoGaiGar. (During Final Fusion it creates a green dust clouds to cover and protects GaiGar during transformation)

“This is the strongest God of Destruction. It's the ultimate shape of courage. We've struggled greatly for this great inheritance. His name is...King of Braves..Genesic GaoGaiGar!”
GaoGaiGar strength is unbelievable, defenses unstoppable, and size is big! For it’s left arm it can create a wall of protection (Protect Shade) (Heaven) and spin his right fist to launch it out as a deadly flying spinning death punch (Broken Magnum) (Hell). With GadgetGao it can gives GaoGaiGar arsenals to close combat and like the past gadgets like Dividing Driver it can split space and surroundings to make a fighting like arena field which stay for 30 min. and Will Knife to create a sword like hand for the right arm. It got two knee drills which he can kick and drill them hard. It’s whole body is protected by a Genesic Aura which protects it from harm but from it’s final battle doesn’t look like it. So when to finish things off it will use the hot & cold, fire & water, life & death, but  the powerful Hell and Heaven! It catches them in the green tornado gravity lock and charges full force turning them into scrap as he rips out the core destroying the body. If that ever fail he can use the Goldion Hammer that can turn anything into photon level particles leaving no destruction as if the guy is a bomb so if he destroys him he explode but with the hammer he can turn the explosions to dust by bonking it on the head. But if wack a mole becomes a bigger threat Guy can go to space and use the most powerful G Tool of them all...
The Goldion Crusher (<-- click to see video)
Tumblr media
Known as the “Gravity Shockwave Generating Division Tool” this giant planet size energy hammer is the final trump card for GaoGaiGar. It was made for only GaoFighGar but the GGG modify it to make it for Genesic GaoGaiGar but he punch it really hard to get his right arm to fit it. Just like the hammer when swing it can destroy anything it hit with the bright gold energy hammer head turning them into light. Like seriously when I say huge this thing looks bigger than the Moon or Earth!?
In past Guy inside the giant robot faces alot of obstacles which pushes their limits to keep fighting. He went to depth of ocean about 1,001 with the help of the Dividing Driver and come out all tired out, handle the Goldion Hammer with out Goldymarg, under huge amount of gravity pressure that only Goldymarg can handle when he was GaiGar, withstand a nova explosion which he’s been there for a long time, took down the Zondar leader and a deadly final battle that he literally got stab in the freaking chest from a sword! Like dam he got some guts.
When in the heat of battle if things are going down he still believe he can still keep going with every last energy he has in him and the mecha itself. So he pushing more further and get stronger even when the robot body is becoming scrapped and breaking apart.
He maybe reckless but Guy has guts and with that he still continue fighting no matter how badly damage he is for he will show the power of the G-Stone and his True Courage.
“When those with courage hold a G-Stone...THEY WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE POWER TO CLAIM VICTORY!!!”
MOD: This is all I got so far and I can’t wait to see if Death Battle does this in any episodes. If you want see recent episode of Death Battle go to Rooster Teeth site or YouTube to watch their updated Death Battle as they’re close to their 100th episode.

Published: January 29, 2021
Boxing fans are now less than a month away from the in-ring return of arguably the best fighter in the world pound-for-pound, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (54-1-2, 36 KOs).
Alvarez will be making one of the quicker turn arounds of his career when he defends his WBA and WBC Super Middleweight titles against WBC mandatory challenger, Avni Yildirim (21-2, 12 KOs).
Yildirim isn’t an elite fighter, and in his previous bout in February 2019, he lost a decision to Anthony Dirrell after the bout was stopped due to a clash of heads.
The news of Yildirim being Alvarez’s next opponent was met with apathy as the continuation of the title belt organizations forcing fighters to face at times what would be considered less than stellar opposition has felt like more of a nuisance over the last few years.
The expectation is that Alvarez should quickly dispatch the Turkish fighter.
In his most recent bout, the Mexican fighter put on one of the best performances of his career, winning a dominant unanimous decision over the United Kingdom’s Callum Smith.
It seems now at 30 years of age, Alvarez is at his peak as a fighter, having put together all of the teachings from his trainer Eddy Reynoso to go along with the best resume in the sport sans Manny Pacquiao.
The expectations are at their highest with Alvarez as winning will now be just as important as how he wins. There is also the expectation that Alvarez will forego the standard two-fight a year program that boxing has been on for the past 20 plus years and step in the ring at least three times in 2021.
After Yildirim, fans will demand that the Mexican fighter step in the ring with a fighter who stands a chance at defeating him.
The question is, which fighter has the best chance at toppling the pound-for-pound superstar?
JERMALL CHARLO (31-0, 22 KOs)
Houston, Texas’ Jermall Charlo currently holds the WBC Middleweight title.
Last September, Charlo defeated top Middleweight contender Sergiy Dereveyanchenko, firmly establishing himself as one of the top Middleweights in the world.
The Ukrainian Derevyanchenko gave current IBF Middleweight titleholder Gennadiy Golovkin all he could handle in October 2019 and came close to defeating Daniel Jacobs in 2018. Charlo’s performance against the Ukrainian eclipsed those of his contemporaries.
Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe feels that Charlo is now the best fighter at Middleweight and would beat Alvarez should they ever meet in the ring.
“Jermall Charlo is the best Middleweight in the world right now,” Ellerbe stated to BoxingScene.com. “There are few other guys at 160, namely Canelo, who will have something to say about that. Jermall is on a mission to prove something to the world. Jermall’s style is all wrong for Canelo. They would never put him in there with Charlo. I don’t think Canelo goes anywhere near Jermall. He’s an animal.”
Unfortunately for Charlo, Alvarez recently relinquished his WBA Middleweight title, making it unlikely that he will return to the division.
However, Charlo may be willing to move up to Super Middleweight as he stands at 6 feet compared to Alvarez’s 5’8.
Charlo represents a challenge, and unlike many of the available opponents for Alvarez, the Texas native could make for a major pay-per-view event that could have a large crowd if the bout were to take place in Texas.
CALEB PLANT (20-0, 12 KOs)
On paper, Caleb Plant, the IBF Super Middleweight champion out of Nashville, Tennessee, looks to be a stylistic nightmare for Alvarez.
Plant is younger and bigger than Alvarez, with an ability to fight off the back foot using lateral movement with fast hands.
While Alvarez has alleviated many of his past weaknesses, such as fighting in spurts, he still has slow feet. If Alvarez is unable to close the distance against Plant, he could find himself behind on points.
Plant will be making the third defense of his IBF title against Caleb Truax this upcoming weekend.
If Alvarez’s goal is to become the undisputed champion at Super Middleweight, starting with Plant would be a step in the right direction.
“I know that’s a fight that me and him both want,” Plant said to DAZN’s Brian Kenny in an interview. “At some point, me and Canelo are going to get in there and do our thing. We will have our showdown, and when we do, I can promise you it’s going to be fireworks. I think Canelo is a great fighter, but I feel like I have all the tools and the weapons to beat him. I will get my hand raised when we fight, I can assure you that.”
GENNADIY GOLOVKIN (41-1-1, 36 KOs)
At 38 years of age, IBF Middleweight champion Gennadiy Golovkin is no longer at his best. In his last two performances, he struggled against Sergiy Derevyanchenko and scored a seventh-round stoppage against the relatively unknown Kamil Szeremeta in a mandatory defense of his title.
Golovkin may not be the threat to Alvarez he was when they first fought in September 2017; he does represent potentially the most significant payday out of any opponent.
Their first two meetings sold over a million buys on pay-per-view, and their rematch won the 2018 fight of the year award from numerous publications.
Their first fight ended in a highly controversial draw, and in the second encounter, Alvarez won a disputed majority decision.
Alvarez is currently at his best while Golovkin seems to have left his best days behind him; however, their previous bouts were closely contested, with a majority of fans and pundits having Golovkin winning both bouts.
The question would be if Golovkin could be to Alvarez what Juan Manuel Marquez was to Manny Pacquiao?
A rival that gives you trouble no matter where they are in their career.
“I don’t have anything to prove to anyone, I did my job already by beating him twice, and right now, I want to stay at 168, and if Golovkin wants to move up, we’ll see what happens, if that’s what the fans really want,” Alvarez stated to The Ring. “I’m at 168, and I don’t have to do any favors for anyone. I’m at 168, and our goal is to unify here.
“I feel like I’m at my peak, and I continue working hard. If a fight happens a third time with Golovkin, I feel so good that I could most likely knock out and do some serious damage.”
Alvarez would undoubtedly be the favorite in a rubber match against the Kazakhstani puncher. However, based on how their previous encounters turned out, Golovkin could still prove to be a worthy challenge.
ERROL SPENCE JR (27-0, 21 KOs)
Along with Golovin and Charlo, Errol Spence Jr. represents a substantial potential payday for Alvarez. Both Spence and Alvarez have had bouts at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and a fight between the two could fill up a stadium.
However, how much of a chance does the unified Welterweight champion have against Alvarez?
Spence recently returned to the ring in December 2020 after a severe car crash and won a unanimous decision over top Welterweight contender Danny Garcia.
The performance against Garcia was impressive as he shut down the Philadelphia fighter while controlling the range in which the fight was fought.
But, it didn’t provide enough evidence to predict him to come out victorious against Alvarez.
The Texas native is big for the Welterweight division, but it’s unknown how well he would do at Junior Middleweight, let alone at Middleweight.
“I think it’s a great fight, especially at 160,” Spence said to DAZN’s Chris Mannix regarding a fight with Alvarez. “I’m a guy that sucks down to 147. I mean, I really think that a lot of people see probably 80 or 70 percent of who I really am at 147 pounds. I’m holding around because I wanted to be undisputed champion at 147, but if there’s a great fight at 160, I can definitely go up to 160 and fight easy.
“I think it’d be an all-out-war. Have it at AT&T Stadium, 100-thousand plus.”
At 31, Spence still has unfinished business at Welterweight with Terence Crawford, but should an opportunity arise to face Alvarez, a more well-known and accomplished fighter; he should take it.
DEMETRIUS ANDRADE (29-0, 18 KOs)
WBO Middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade hasn’t secured a major fight with any of the other top Middleweights. Despite fighting on the same streaming network (DAZN) as Alvarez and Golovkin, he has yet to face either man.
At 32, the southpaw from Providence, Rhode Island, has a relatively thin resume and is arguably unproven. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Andrade wouldn’t be a formidable opponent for Alvarez.
Andrade has a vast amateur background winning numerous Golden Glove championships, and is a fighter that can fight in many different styles.
Unfortunately, Alvarez may view Andrade as a high-risk-low-reward fight and is unlikely to face the Rhode Island native unless he can defeat other elite fighters.
The problem for Andrade has been getting elite fighters to step in the ring with him.
“It’s like Jermall Charlo, Billy Joe Saunders, Callum Smith, and GG have a poster of Canelo over their beds and be like, please pick me Canelo, please pick me,” Andrade said during an interview with DAZN. “I feel bad for Canelo. We need to start fighting each other so that we can demand the Canelo fight. Canelo shouldn’t have to fight me, GGG, Charlo, and all these guys. We need to fight and eliminate who needs to be eliminated.”
BILLY JOE SAUNDERS (30-0, 14 KOs)
According to ESPN, the next man in line to face Alvarez should he come out unscathed against Yildirim is WBO Super Middleweight title holder, Billy Joe Saunders.
Saunders arguably falls within the same category as Andrade as a fighter who may be better than his resume suggests.
Last May, Saunders was in line to face Alvarez, but the fight was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Saunders last defended his WBO title against Martin Murray in December 2020 where he won via unanimous decision.
The undefeated United Kingdom pugilist's best performances came in 2017 when he won dominant unanimous decisions over Willie Monroe Jr. and power puncher David Lemieux.
Saunders has the look of a natural southpaw who can fight on the move in a relaxed state. With Alvarez’s greatest weakness being his slow feet, Saunders could prove to be a problem for the four-division champion.
When Saunders has stepped up in competition, he has always enhanced his game. Against Alvarez, he will be a big underdog, but he should be at his best.
If Alvarez plans to fight in the United Kingdom, a fight with Billy Joe Saunders could be the fight to do it.
There are other fighters throughout the Super Middleweight and Light Heavyweight divisions that could provide Alvarez with a challenge, such as former two-time WBC Super Middleweight champion David Benavidez and WBA Light Heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol.
The only fighter at this time that would be a favorite to defeat Alvarez is unified WBC and IBF Light Heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev who may be the hardest puncher in all of boxing.
However, Alvarez’s pit stop at Light Heavyweight in November 2019 against Sergey Kovalev was a one-time occurrence as an opportunity to win a title against a fighter who still has a name but is no longer at their best.
Alvarez has a plethora of options that could make him more money at a lower risk. It's unlikely that the four-division champion would face Beterbiev in the near future.
Alvarez is at a pivotal point in his career. He stands on top of the mountain as the number one fighter pound-for-pound and boxing's biggest moneymaker.
The Mexican's motto over the last few years has been "No Boxing, No Life." With that motto behind him, it may not be until he is past his prime that he suffers another defeat.

How to tactfully suggest?
For about the last six months, I’ve (46f) been having a sexual relationship with my best friend (46m). Not my greatest decision, but he came on to me and I had some feels and thought he did as well. Apparently, it seems it is more FWB, which is fine. We tend to hook up at least twice a month, if not more. At first, the sex was good, he really wanted to try and please me and there was plenty of effort as is with any new sexual relationship. However, as the months progress, his effort has, well, become nil. The last two times we’ve hooked up, I haven’t orgasmed, which was pretty obvious as he came very quickly and unexpectedly. Immediately after he does, he becomes extremely sleepy and often goes to sleep. in an effort to get off, I've been trying to guide his hand/fingers when he touches me because he's a very soft touch and I need a firmer touch. Every other partner I've ever had has always appreciated any help/feedback/request during sex.
On our last tryst this evening, he did not even kiss me before just jumping in and starting to touch me. As he was touching me, I tried to move his hand to guide/show him the rhythm/speed that is guaranteed to work and that I like harder pressure. As I was doing so, he acted offended and basically said he’s “always been able to get a pussy off wjthout being shown”. Then he complained that I wasn’t getting wet when I thought I was.
I know how this sounds- he comes across as selfish and a jerk. He really isn't normally, and is a great guy or else I wouldn't be such close friends with him. How can I tactfully suggest that things could be better/how they could become better without offending him? I'm very GGG, and I thought he was too, but... it's getting to the point that if something doesn't improve, I'm ending the benefits part.

Boxing got some flip flopping ass fans who don't take the time to research & speak intelligently during their pre-fight predictions. And yes I saw Danny Jacobs winning. He landed more power shots against the Boogeyman which signifies to me that Jacobs' plan was effectively working because he's taking the aggressive puncher away from what he does normally coming in with reckless abandon and coming forth with an uncomfortable pressure. He knew better than to come in reckless. Golovkin is a good fighter and offensively very skillful but he's not what HBO billed him as this invincible KO machine. Like I told you his past competition was very limited. His last two fights proved that. The moment he stepped up against more skillful guys the more human he looked. And shoutout to AmeriKKKa where they make it a crime to root for the American Champ. If you're American and you go for the foreigner that's fine. If you support the American they call you "RACIST" LOL but it's not just about America vs. other regions. Fair is fair and I had Jacobs winning a close competitive fight. Good thing with me is I have a backbone. You ain't gonna just scare me into believing what you want me to believe. Like I said GGG is a good fighter but not what HBO & Abel made him out to be. In fact that whole "Mexican Style" ain't even close. I noticed Golovkin doesn't fight reckless when he's in with a puncher. Chavez Jr or Ruslan Provodnikov no matter who they face their come forward aggression does NOT change, Golovkin's does. Abel said GGG will beat Andre Ward, Sergey Kovalev, & Adonis at 175 lbs!!! Do y'all still believe that? Lmao now ppl complaining cause Daniel Jacobs rehydrated comfortably and forfeited the IBF eligibility. Talking size advantage, so how was GGG gonna stop 175 lbers. As always I see why Team GGG avoided Andre Ward that would've been a nightmare matchup for him. I ain't one of these boxing media puppets who can't think for themselves. I'm out. The truth has been spoken. ✌🏽#TheFuture #boxingego

Dougie’s Monday Mailbag (Jeremias Ponce, Mythical Matchups, Arturo Gatti)

Dougie’s Monday Mailbag (Jeremias Ponce, Mythical Matchups, Arturo Gatti)
Tumblr media
Jeremias Ponce (right) punishes Lewis Ritson. Photo by Mark Robinson/ Matchroom Boxing 14 Jun by Doug Fischer JEREMIAS PONCE Doug hi, That Saturday DAZN card rocked. I enjoyed seeing some new talent, Cyrus Pattinson and Sol Dacres both look to be worth following and seeing Alen Babic do his thing is always fun (for as long as that is going to last). But that Jeremias Ponce take down of Lewis Ritson is what got me writing in. What a war. I knew nothing about Ponce going into this but am 100% a fan from now forward. What a beast!  In round 1 the announcers were doubting if he could maintain the torrid pace. In round ten he still was, and with quality. I’d love to see him in with any of the top guys though if he gets his IBF shot against Josh Taylor I think the streak ends there. What do you think about his place in the unbelievably stacked 140-lb. division? Can you tell us any more about him? Hope this finds you well. Cheers. – Alec Thanks for sharing your thoughts on DAZN’s boxing offering from England on Saturday and the eye-opening performance from Ponce. If you want to know more about the rugged Argentine, please read Diego Morilla’s pre-fight feature on his countryman: https://www.ringtv.com/622906-unbeaten-jeremias-ponce-looks-to-make-a-statement-vs-lewis-ritson-in-ibf-elimination-bout/ I think Ponce is a welcome addition to the loaded junior welterweight division, but I don’t think he’s at all ready for the undisputed Ring champ, Josh Taylor, and as far as his place among the top 140-pounders, I think he’s just outside of the top 10. As impressive as he was against Ritson, I doubt the Ring Ratings Panel will suggest that he displace any of the lower-top-10 rated junior welterweights (Nos. 8-10 are Subriel Matias, Shohjahon Ergashev, and Robert Easter Jr.). Based on the discourse I’ve seen from the panel so far, they’re more inclined to enter Jose Pedraza, who stopped unbeaten (21-0) Julian Rodriguez in eight rounds, on Saturday on the Stevenson-Nakathila undercard. (T)hat Jeremias Ponce take down of Lewis Ritson is what got me writing in. What a war. I thought it was a darn good scrap, but I wouldn’t call it a “war” – the action wasn’t two-sided enough in my opinion – from where I was sitting Ponce was in command during most of the fight, although Ritson did hang tough for as long as he could and certainly had his moments. I knew nothing about Ponce going into this but am 100% a fan from now forward. What a beast! The 24-year-old “winger” (an old-school label for fighter’s who loop most of their long-range power punches) will make for action fights, especially when he’s matched with fellow aggressors. A savvy and battle-tested stick-and-mover like Taylor (or Viktor Postol or Easter) will likely outclass Ponce, who is stiff in his upper-body, flat-footed, and likes to work behind a high “earmuff” guard. However, he’s game as fighter’s get, and I like his concentrated body attack and mean uppercuts that he rips when he’s in close. I don’t see many junior welterweights having an easy time with him. I’d love to see him swap punches with Matias or Ivan Baranchyk. In round 1 the announcers were doubting if he could maintain the torrid pace. In round ten he still was, and with quality. Ponce had the same mojo that Ritson did at lightweight, especially during the Newcastle native’s British title run from 2017-2018. I think the two-fisted volume-punching pressure-fighting version of Ritson that stopped Robbie Barrett, Joe Murray, Scott Cardle and Paul Murray in succession would have fared better vs. Ponce than the dude trying jab and pick his shots out of a Philly Shell defensive posture. CHAVEZ VS. GATTI, HEARNS VS. MUGABI Hey Dougie, Curious about your picks for two mythical match-ups that could have actually happened… A junior middleweight bout between a prime Thomas Hearns and rising contender John Mugabi in 1985. A welterweight bout between the always vulnerable Arturo Gatti and a nearly washed JC Chavez in 2000. In my opinion, both bouts could go either way, and I imagine both fights would be thrillers for as long as they lasted. I think a peak Hearns avoids a Barkley-esque upset by boxing smartly against the hard-hitting Mugabi, likely forcing a mid-to-late rounds stoppage. Hearns W TKO 9. And I see Gatti-Chavez resembling Duran-Barkley and Morales-Maidana, bouts in which the old warriors had the perfect opponents to show enough flashes of their former glory to make it close on the cards. Chavez W SD 12. I look forward to your takes. Thanks. – Bag’A’Chips I think peak Hitman blasts Mugabi out in one or two rounds. The Beast, who squared up right in front of his opponents and loaded up with every shot, was tailor-made for The Motor City Cobra’s piston-jab and straight-right bomb. All Hearns would need to do is keep his composure and box from a distance. As long as he didn’t get overzealous in search of the KO and rush it, there’s no way Mugabi could last with him or reach his chin.
Tumblr media
Chavez circa 1990, on his way to winning more than 80 consecutive fights. Photo by THE RING I can also see the 2000 version of Chavez prevailing over the 2000 version of Gatti like Duran over The Blade or losing a close decision the way El Terrible did vs. Chino. At first, I was thinking Gatti would absolutely destroy Chavez, who I considered finished after his second loss to Oscar De La Hoya in 1998. The sluggish version that dropped a 10-rounder to Wily Wise in 1999 would have been beaten down to late stoppage by Gatti’s heavy haymakers. But then I remembered that Chavez regained a semblance of his old form when he challenged Kostya Tszyu for the WBC 140-pound belt in 2000. He was painfully slow and had to resort to blatant low blows vs. King Kostya, but his vintage stance and technique was almost there… enough at least for him to have a few moments vs. a future hall of famer in his prime. Tszyu patiently picked Chavez apart until his corner rescued him in Round 6, but the Russian-Aussie was so much sharper than Gatti ever was, especially in 2000. I know Gatti would be motivated like never before to face a legend like Chavez, but he couldn’t help but loop and telegraph his big shots to the body and head. I think Chavez would do a much better job of blocking (and countering) Gatti’s bombs (which could do as much damage as Tszyu’s sharp shots) than he did evading Kostya’s well-timed and quick one-twos down the pike. I’d forgotten how much those back-to-back losses to Ivan Robinson in 1998 had messed with Gatti’s mojo. He really didn’t regain it until he was paired with Buddy McGirt following the Oscar De La Hoya drubbing in 2001, and even then, it took a few fights (including the loss to Micky Ward that kicked off their classic trilogy). So, I go back and forth with this one, but I guess I’ll go with the all-time great like you did. There wasn’t much of the real JC Superstar left in 2000, but whatever he could summon (and I figure Gatti’s reputation would get him to train hard) would probably be enough to get by the version of Thunder that was troubled a little bit (and bled A LOT) vs. the pesky Baby Joe Hutchinson. HARDEST HITTER Hi Dougie, Just got a brief question: Who is the hardest p4p puncher – Gennady Golovkin at his peak, Naoya Inoue or Artur Beterbiev? And a bit longer MMs: Alexander Povetkin vs. Chris Byrd (prime for prime), David Tua Luis Ortiz vs. David Tua Dillian Whyte vs. Chris Byrd, David Tua Deontay Wilder vs. David Tua, Chris Byrd Thanks for all your useful & entertaining work. – Jose Thanks for the kind words, Jose. Your Mythical Matchups: Alexander Povetkin vs. Chris Byrd (prime for prime), David Tua – Byrd wins a close, maybe majority decision (provided the fight is on neutral ground); Tua, trailing badly on the official cards, scores a come-from-behind late TKO. Luis Ortiz vs. David Tua – TuaMan by mid-to-late TKO. Dillian Whyte vs. Chris Byrd, David Tua – Byrd by close UD, Tua by mid-to-late KO Deontay Wilder vs. David Tua, Chris Byrd – Tua by early KO; Byrd frustrates and outclasses Wilder for much of the bout but at some point The Bronze Bomber clips his wings with a big, wild right hand.
Tumblr media
The Monster connects vs. Jason Moloney Who is the hardest p4p puncher – Gennady Golovkin at his peak, Naoya Inoue or Artur Beterbiev? Inoue by a significant margin in my opinion. GGG and Beterbiev are physically stronger (at their weight classes than Inoue is at 118) and more durable, but the Japanese star is a more talented overall athlete with quicker hands and feet, better timing/reflexes and sharper punching technique, which adds to more P4P “pop” to his power shots. THUNDER AND THE IBHOF I’ve heard a lot of people say Arturo Gatti doesn’t belong in the HOF. I think he does, given his resume (not ATG-status, but it’s called The Hall of Fame, not the Hall of All-Time Greats) and his willingness to go where 99% of us wouldn’t dare to venture. Now detractors will say “There are better guys than Gatti NOT in”, but that doesn’t mean Arturo Gatti shouldn’t be in. Do you think Gatti belongs in the HOF? What’s your line of thought if you don’t think so? Also, who are some of those guys with better careers than Thunder that you believe DO belong in the HOF? – Gregory K. If you’re just going on strength of resume (especially if you mainly credit victories) there are too many to mention, Greg, but you make a good points about Gatti’s worthiness, and I’ve never heard anyone break it down as you did with this simple line: “…but it’s called The Hall of Fame, not the Hall of All-Time Greats.” That’s such a good point. Being an attraction, a crowd-pleaser, someone who made hardcore fans out of casuals is a factor in the voting even though purists are against it. Gatti didn’t get my vote when his name first appeared on the IBHOF ballot because I believed there were more deserving candidates that year, but he was so beloved that he made it in (posthumously) on his first year of eligibility. Once he was in, I didn’t bitch about it too much (as some of my peers did). Gatti’s got a solid resume. Yes, he was outclassed by De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr., but there’s shouldn’t be any shame in losing to those two. He’s got solid victories, including James Leija, Leo Dorin, Tracy Patterson, Gabe Ruelas and Gianluca Branco.

The final chapter between Gatti and Ward. However, I think his slugfests – win or lose – are what put him over the top. There are too many to mention, but his modern-classic trilogy with Micky Ward can’t be ignored or downplayed IMO. And four of his ring battles were deemed the Fight of the Year by Ring Magazine: vs. Ruelas (1997), Ivan Robinson (1998), and Ward (2002 and 2003). Being in four Ring fights of the year ties him with Joe Frazier and George Foreman (that’s all-time great company right there). Only Carmen Basilio (who was in five consecutive fights of the year) and Muhammad Ali who was in SIX fights of the year, according to The Ring, are ahead of Gatti in that department.   Email Fischer at . Canelo Alvarez v Gennady Golovkin III is on the cards
Canelo Alvarez v Gennady Golovkin III is on the cards … and the Mexican superstar is more formal than ever
Canelo Alvarez defeated Daniel Jacobs in Las Vegas on Saturday night

Canelo Alvarez celebrates his victory over Daniel Jacobs in Las Vegas last weekend
Alternative Canelo –
However, there are obstacles and there are obstacles and they don't seem to be the same to all those
Namely: Canelo & # 39; s third meeting of the controversial species with Gennady Golovkin, to decide which of them is truly the greatest middleweight on the planet
The problem with Smith, holder of the WBA's own super-middleweight title is that the big attraction for Canelo would be to fight him at Wembley Stadium.
The difficulty with Andrade is that he allows him to do that. from his belt at the end of June, which almost certainly comes close to the mega fight about six weeks later.
As for Kovalev, he is also expected to defend his title at the end of next month, against Anthony Yarde in Russia.
Perhaps why Alvarez was watching Golovkin in the stake during the weekend, that although he does not feel that the couple still has unfinished business, he will fight against the GGG-Man like that is what the fans want. & # 39; Not only the fans, by the way, but his TV paymasters DAZN who expect the biggest fights in exchange for his gigantic $ 500 million contract.
<img id = "i-18f1ba783ffc89b2" src = "https://dailym.ai/2JlyoUr 00 / 13174956-6999631-image-a-69_1557187012093.jpg "height =" 412 "width =" 634 "alt =" Gennady Golovkin lands a right on Alvarez during their second fight in Las Vegas last year "class =" blkBorder img- share "on Alvarez during their second fight in Las Vegas last year
Gennady Golovkin lands on his second fight in Las Vegas last year
Canelo added: & # 39 ; And I will hit him again. & # 39; After the assessment scandal of a tie that robbed Golovkin in his first fight and the questionable split decision he got in the second, Canelo can feel strengthened in that prediction by the way of his weekend win over Jacobs.
was not the Slugger Alvarez who flattened Rocky Fielding in no time at all for the WBA & # 39; normal & # 39; super-middleweight title win. This was Canelo The Classy. Here was the pure boxing sugar on the hard cake.
There was no commotion this time about pro Alvarez scoring on the Vegas Strip. Unlike what the usual complaint of Jacobs becomes.
As something, the unanimous decision did Canelo a little less than justice. Two of the judges had the advantage of 115-113, but the least I earned was the 116-112 card of the third man.
Alvarez – Jacobs is fighting here last weekend – has added an extra smart defense to his repertoire
Granted by the fish-eye lens from television, the image of this column was that Canelo brilliantly won the first six rounds and the last two impressively.
More importantly, I have grown up as a highly technical boxer complete with a smart defense. by boxing the right fight against a dangerous opponent
Golovkin was not amused by & # 39; a boring fight more like sparring & # 39; but this was one for the connoisseurs – delivered by a tough guy with lots of knockouts still in his closet.
But if Triple G beat him and put his personal duel on a tie and a win each … we might even get Canelo-Golovkin IV
And that would be a different treat.

Everyone was laughing hard.
Yuko : (playing) Streets weren’t enough for them so for being paid more they decided to stand naked on their moving car while saving their child ! You have to seduce everyone, being superheroes, showing what a great model you are for children you know…
Sado : HAHAHAHAHA !!!!!!
Yuko : (keeps playing) Actually you’re watching 2 pedophile parents doing a show, so it’s better for you not to watch more cause with a devil and a sicko you know in what kind of trouble you are, especially in amusement parks !
Shibuya : HAHAHAHAHAHAA !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone was laughing their heads off, clapping.
Shaku : (laughing) Girl, you’re..!!! Shit, I’m gonna pee !!!!
Ookabuki : Wait a little bit longer cause we got a serious problem right now !!!!!!
Shaku : What..AAH !!!!!!!!!!!
Sado : (sighing) Oh gosh, have kids..!!
Black and Gekikara’s children suddenly jumped very high into the air, one of them having Yuna in his arms, this one crying. Slow motion moment here as everyone looked up at the same time, seeing with horror the kids who were about falling to death. A few frightening secs, racing hearts, all frozen in fear, like a silence that dramatically cut the sound of the wind and everything else around… leaving only Gekikara and Black’s heartbreaking screams, tearfully, stabbing the atmosphere. No time to understand anything or react as Choukoku suddenly came out, gritted teeths, making a big drift, sunroof opening as the kids fell right in her car, 2 of them, Yuna and one of her brothers who were in Choukoku’s arms. Everyone was completely shocked before coming to their senses, all relieved.
Kids : (happy) AUNT CHOUKOKUUU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Choukoku : (mad and blushing) I’M NOT YOUR AUNT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’M A FIGHTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All the girls laughed, smiling.
Sado : (smiling, teasing) And suddenly, the Angel Choukoku from heaven appeared, the savior of children !
Everyone laughed.
Gekikara : MY BABIIIIES !!!!!!!!!! OH THANK GOD YOU’RE ALL ALIVE, OOOH BLAACK..!!!!!! (crying)

The Kabuki Sisters laughed.
Yuko : (teasing) It suits you Choukoku… Shibuya, you know what to do now….
Choukoku blushed, a little embarrassed but kept her serious look, knowing that the audience was watching her.
Gekikara : Honey, we found our babysitter !!!!!
Black : Yeah !!!!
Choukoku : HO HEY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone laughed while imagining Choukoku’s face.
Sado : She’ll be busy… (smiling) Good for her, take these kind of things far from me !
Gakuran : You don’t want kids ??!!
Sado : No, always crying, screaming, hungry and everything, it’s a pain in the ass ! Not for me. I prefer to live alone… I mean… (looking at Torigoya, smiling, kissing her)
Torigoya : I’ll convince youu..!
Yoga : Can you all shut the fuck up now and focus on the race ????!!!! We don’t fuckin care about your future lives !!!!
Gekikara : YEAH, BYE BYE, NOW THAT WE DON’T HAVE OUR KIDS WE CAN SAY HELLO TO VICTORY HAHAHAHA !!!!!! (accelerating)
Choukoku : (mad) HEY GEKIKARA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BLACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’M NOT GONNA KEEP THEM DAMMIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAIT, HO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kids : BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Choukoku : (trying to sing, but was awfully bad !) Sleep sleep sleeeep little fighters… euh, monsteeers..!!!
All the girls : (exasperated) OOOH CHOUKOKU, COME OOON…!!!
Kids : BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yuko : (hit the dashboard, bursting into laughter) HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA !!!!!!!!!!!!
Shaku : We’re in a bad way…
All the yankiis booed the MMA girl, thing that made her mad.
Choukoku : MIND YOUR FUCKIN ASSES BITCHES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Black : They prefer funeral or scary songs, try these ones.
Kokabuki : Like parents like kids…
Yuko : (singing a creepy song, imitating a man’s voice, but it was more like she was acting) BOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAHAHAHAHA !!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL WELCOME YOU AT THE CHILDREN’S GRAVEYARD DEAR LITTLE BABIIIIES !!!!!!!!!!
Kids : (crying louder !) BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Black : YUKO, YOU ASSHOLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE HELL ARE YOU DOING, YOU’RE FREAKING THEM OUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone laughed hard.
Yuko : Eh ??? Girl you told me they like scary songs, so I sing !!!!
Black : BUT NOT SAYING YOU WELCOME THEM AT A CHILDREN’S GRAVEYARD YOU FUCKIN DUMBASS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shaku : (little smile) Even leaders don’t know anything about kids…
All the girls smiled.
Yuko : (dumb expression, embarrassed, laughing) Well… I think I’m not ready to have a baby ha..hahahahaa !!!! It’s better like this, I prefer to enjoy my youth…
Kokabuki : (laughing) I think we’re all the same !!
Choukoku : HEY, IT DOESN’T TELL ME WHAT SHOULD I SING TO THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!
Daruma : Try one with food, that’s what I do with Takeshi !!! It works all the time !!
Shaku : Ooh, by the way how is he doin Daruma ??!!
Gekikara : Inciting our kids to be obese and end up like a fat ass like you, no thanks !!!!!!!
Daruma : GEKIKARA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yuko : HAHAHAHAHAAAA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (hit the dashboard)
Black : She’s right, you’re definitively not an example. We wonder how you both are still alive by now…
Everyone was shocked.
Daruma : YOU BASTARDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GEKIKARA, YOU’RE THE LARD ASS !!!!!!!!! LOOK AT YOU WITH YOUR FUCKIN 80 POUNDS !!!!!!!!!
Gekikara : BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 80 POUNDS NOWWWWW..!!!!!!!!!!!!

Choukoku : GGRRGG..!!!!!!!!!! (accelerating, furious)
Instead of being scared, the kids actually laughed, excited and remained quiet a few secs later. Choukoku looked at them in the mirror, shocked.
Choukoku : Damn couldn’t you tell me sooner that they like speeding ????!!!!
Black : They like you, they think you’re funny that’s why. They feel safe too with you…

All the girls accelerated. Black and Gekikara were next to Choukoku, this one used the opportunity to open her sunroof.
Choukoku : TAKE YOUR MONSTERS BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (looking at Yuna who was in her arms) Though you stink, you’re cute... (smiling before giving her to one of the kids) Be careful when you’ll all jump okay ?! Bye.

Gekikara : WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Black : AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They almost crashed against a building. Scared, the kids cried before laughing. Black and Gekikara looked at them, smiling, knowing too that the race was over in their case. They were relieved.
Gekikara : I think we’ll do better next year... (kissing)

Both of them laughed.

All the girls looked at the same time in their mirrors, Choukoku was actually far ahead of them.
Magic : Oh fuck !!!! (accelerated)
Gakuran : HO CHOUKOKU WAIT FOR US !!!!!! (accelerated too)
Sado : The winner has to be a Rappappa !!!!!!!! (doing it too)
Shaku : LOOKS LIKE IT’S GETTING CLOSER EVERYBODY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nezumi : We won’t let you win... (smiling)
Center suddenly sat on her lap, singing, dancing, seductive. The two girls teased each other.
Center : Drink it up, drink-drink it uup ! (kissing)
Nezumi : When sober girls around me, they be acting like they drunk... They be acting like they drunk, acting-acting like they drunk ! (kissing)

Shaku : That’s hot actually here !
Shibuya : Choukoku, I’m catching you... (smiling)
Choukoku : (looked in her mirror, smiling) Try.
Gakuran and Maeda were now next to Choukoku. Gakuran smiled at her, the two accelerated.
Shaku : GAKURAN MAEDA AND CHOUKOKU ARE NOW FIGHTING, PEOPLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOO IT’S INTERESTING IT’S INTERESTING LOOK AT THEM THEY’RE REALLY INTO THE ACTION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shaku : She woke up all the audience now ! (smiling) Torigoya, you’re making everyone crazy here !!
Torigoya : Mmm.... (removed her bra) let’s continue then.... (winked)
Everyone whistled and screamed even more.

In the end, unified middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez worked out an agreement on Wednesday for their much-anticipated rematch on Sept. 15 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, but it was a wild day getting it across the finish line.
Two hours after the Golden Boy Promotions-imposed 12 p.m. PT deadline for Golovkin to accept an improved offer under which Alvarez would get the lion’s share of a 57½-42½ revenue split came and went, with Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya telling ESPN “there is no fight,” the sides came up with a last-ditch idea that convinced GGG to accept the terms.
“I’m happy to inform that we have a fight September 15!!!!,” De La Hoya tweeted.
I’m happy to inform that we have a fight September 15!!!! #CaneloGGG2 Feliz De informar que si tenemos pelea Septiembre 15!!! #CaneloGGG2 pic.twitter.com/gI3QmR0eXe
— Oscar De La Hoya (@OscarDeLaHoya) June 13, 2018
Terms of the agreement, which still need to be put to paper and signed, were not disclosed.
“It was a dead deal at noon. We were going to proceed with a Billy Joe Saunders fight. We had a deal in place to fight Billy Joe Saunders at the end of August,” Golovkin promoter Tom Loeffler told ESPN of a match with world titleholder Saunders. “We definitely had an agreement in place with Billy Joe Saunders. I was up front with them and told them if there’s a way to get the Canelo deal that was a priority, but Gennady had no hesitation fighting Billy Joe Saunders because he felt it was a challenging fight to fight an undefeated champion.”
After De La Hoya called ESPN to say the deadline had passed and there was no fight, saying that negotiations were “100 percent over,” things suddenly changed and the window for a deal to be finalized had opened a crack. Moments later, one of De La Hoya’s associates called ESPN back.
“Hold on,” the associate said.
As it turned out, while De La Hoya was on the phone talking to ESPN, what was termed as a “Hail Mary” idea to save the fight was being discussed between Golden Boy president Eric Gomez and others involved in the fight and then communicated to Golovkin’s team.
“Still working on it,” Loeffler texted to ESPN 20 minutes after the deadline as he scrambled to see if Golovkin, who is in Moscow as a guest of one of his sponsors for the World Cup, was interested in the newest proposal.
Gomez said he was trying to reach De La Hoya during his interview with ESPN and he was frustrated because he wasn’t answering his phone. But ultimately, Gomez said, “We threw a Hail Mary and it was caught. The fight’s done.”
Now there is going to be a rematch that is perhaps the biggest fight in boxing. Golovkin and Alvarez met last September at the T-Mobile Arena, the same site where the rematch will take place, and fought to a heavily disputed draw that most thought Golovkin won.
The fight generated 1.3 million pay-per-view buys and a $27 million gate — the third-biggest in boxing history. Most project that a rematch would beat both figures and that Golovkin would earn more than $40 million.
Neither side would disclose what the “Hail Mary” was, but executives from the MGM Grand, the host casino for the fight whose parent company owns the T-Mobile Arena, got involved and came up with a tweak that helped get the deal done.
“Gennady stuck to his guns,” Loeffler said. “He always wanted the Canelo rematch, but at the same time he wanted the respect as the champion, especially with what happened with the May 5 cancellation. We figured out a way to get it done. After the fight was dead, we figured out a way to resuscitate it. They were moving on and we were moving on. I can’t go into the details, but Gennady is satisfied with the deal. Both fighters were stuck and we needed one of our partners to get involved and the MGM did. That’s how the deal was saved. We came up with the solution.
“Gennady is happy he is getting the respect and I’m happy we’re able to participate in the biggest fight in the sport of boxing. This goes to Gennady’s legacy. It’s a huge fight for both guys. I think it’s going to be a much bigger promotion than first time out.”
Alvarez received the lion’s share of a 70-30 revenue split for that fight, and when the rematch was set for May 5 Alvarez was due to receive the lion’s share of a 65-35 split. But when Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs) failed two drug tests in February for the performance-enhancing drug clenbuterol and was suspended for six months by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, the rematch was canceled and the fighters traded harsh words. Golovkin instead faced short-notice replacement Vanes Martirosyan in Carson, California, wiped him out in two rounds and made about $1 million instead of the roughly $25 million he would have made had the rematch taken place as scheduled.
But they then turned their attention to trying to put the rematch back together for the fall and cleared a major hurdle when Alvarez signed up for year-round Voluntary Anti-Doping Association testing 24/7/365.
However, weeks later Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KOs) had a change of heart and insisted on redoing what De La Hoya said was a signed contract. Golovkin demanded a 50-50 split. De La Hoya eventually increased Golovkin’s share to 40 percent, but GGG continued to stand firm on parity, at which point De La Hoya declared that the “Canelo train has left the station” and that he was moving on to try to close a deal for the fight with Daniel Jacobs (34-2, 29 KOs), a former secondary titlist who had given GGG a very tough fight in a close-decision loss in March 2017.
That declaration from De La Hoya got Golovkin to lower his demands to 55-45. But Golden Boy would not give him that much, instead agreeing to split the difference at 57½-42½ and giving him Wednesday’s deadline.
When it appeared that the fight was dead on Wednesday afternoon, De La Hoya gave his view, telling ESPN, “We want the fight, Tom Loeffler wants the fight. Clearly, the only person here who doesn’t want the fight is GGG. The fans want the fight. We bent over backwards. GGG says he’s a fighter not a businessman and he’s right. He’s no businessman because he doesn’t understand numbers. It’s 100 percent over. We’ve been trying to make the numbers work and Canelo finally said, ‘screw this guy.’ We’ve come off our 35 percent. We’ve come off our contract that we had signed a couple of months ago and we still moved our percentage to make Golovkin happy but clearly he doesn’t want the fight.
“Tom and Eric have been on the phone until right now and Eric just told me we have no deal — 100 percent there is no fight. We’ve come up on our offer and there’s no budge from him so there’s no fight. That’s it. There’s no fight. We’re moving on. We have deadlines.”
But it’s boxing, where deadlines are as fluid as the water a boxer drinks between rounds.

In just a few days’ time a true super fight will be upon us and for disciples of the sweet science across the globe, September 16 can’t come fast enough.
While the Middleweight combatants train for the most anticipated fight of the year, boxing fans and scribes alike have been dissecting and analyzing the matchup from every conceivable angle like it was a geometry problem.
Undefeated 160 pound Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) has been the division’s Boogieman since winning the interim WBA Middleweight championship via knockout in 58 seconds over Milton Nunez in 2010. Nunez was victim number six in what would be a streak of 23 consecutive stoppage victories for GGG.
In the meantime, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs) was cutting a swath through the Welterweight and Super Welterweight divisions, winning belts and gaining legions of fans in the process.
Canelo dipped his toe into the Middleweight pool in 2015 against the oft avoided, slick Cuban boxer Erislandy Lara. The non-title affair was contracted as Super Welterweight, however the fighters came in a pound over the limit.
After nearly decapitating the durable James Kirkland in three rounds, Alvarez outpointed veteran Miguel Cotto for the WBC Middleweight strap.
Interestingly enough, when pressure mounted for Canelo and GGG to meet in a unification match, Alvarez elected to vacate his championship instead.
There was much speculation as to the reasons behind this decision. Some believe it was boxing politics, others feel that Team Alvarez was intimidated by the Middleweight destroyer.
Still others surmised that the decision was made at the insistence of Canelo’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya to increase the already huge demand for the two adversaries to clash in the biggest fight in their respective careers.
Alvarez began his professional pugilistic education at 15 years old and has since engaged in 51 fights. Let’s slip between the ropes and take a look at the young warrior’s five most important fights leading up to the September 16 melee for the universally recognized world Middleweight championship.
5. Austin Trout – 4/20/2013
AP Photo
Coming into this fight, Austin “No Doubt” Trout was undefeated in 26 fights and coming off his career best win, which was his fourth successful defense of the WBA Light Middleweight title, via unanimous 12-round decision over Miguel Cotto.
Canelo Alvarez stepped into the ring for the sixth defense of the WBC Super Welterweight strap that he won against Matthew Hatton in March of 2011.
So competitive was the matchup that Alvarez had a rematch clause in his contract, while Trout did not. In a razor-close match, Canelo caught the slick Trout and left no doubt about his punching power, dropping him in the seventh round for the first time in his career.
Ultimately it goes down in history as a clear unanimous-decision victory, but the scores do not tell how close the fight was in actuality. In fact, two veteran boxing scribes had it 114-113 (Dan Rafael) and 114-114 (Al Bernstein).
The bout with Trout certainly was a building block in the already growing foundation of the young Alvarez.
4. Shane Mosley – 5/5/2012
“Sugar” Shane Mosley had certainly passed his best days when he ducked through the ropes to face Canelo Alvarez, who was 19 years his junior.
The fight took place in front of an excellent crowd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Miguel Cotto.
Mosley in fact was coming off a 12-round thrashing at the hands of an all-time great Welterweight named Manny Pacquiao.
While being 40 years of age, Mosley was still only four fights removed from a turn-back-the-clock, scintillating knockout of the now infamous, hard punching* villain Antonio Margarito.
Mosley, who is also a future Hall of Fame inductee, had almost as many knockouts as Alvarez had total bouts when the bell sounded for the opening round.
Sugar Shane moved well in the opening stanza and played it fairly safe behind his jab. Alvarez on the other hand started slow and stalked the former champion for most of the round.
Calling on his experience, Mosley continued boxing wisely against his young rival in the second round. In the final minute Alvarez started finding his rhythm, catching Sugar with several hooks just prior to the bell.
An accidental clash of heads opened a deep cut on Canelo’s left eyelid in Round 3 and Mosley likely did enough to capture Round 4 on the judges’ cards.
From this point forward, Canelo doggedly pursued Mosley, consistently banking rounds with crisp hooks and solid right hands.
The result was never in question and Alvarez was announced the winner by a wide unanimous decision, garnering the young phenom his first Hall of Fame scalp.
*Margarito was discovered to have a plaster-like substance in his gloves just prior to entering the ring against Mosley. It is generally believed that he had been doing so for quite some time, including his brutal stoppage against Miguel Cotto.
3. Erislandy Lara – 7/12/2014
Hogan Photos
Following a loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. and target practice against popular and rugged, but limited Alfredo Angulo, Canelo Alvarez elected to take on the often avoided Cuban slickster, Erislandy Lara.
Lara was in fact coming off a unanimous-decision victory over Austin “No Doubt” Trout, who gave Canelo a stern test in their bout just over a year prior.
At this point, Lara’s sole defeat had come at the hands of Paul Williams via a disputed 12-round majority decision. HBO’s unofficial judge Harold Letterman scored the bout 117-111 in favor of Lara.
This was not just a Mexican vs. Cuban fight, but also the quintessential boxer vs. puncher matchup.
The Cuban southpaw stand out used slick footwork, sharp angles and counterpunching to sweep the first few rounds as Alvarez continued to invest his energy to Lara’s body in an effort to slow him down.
In the middle rounds it was a very close fight and Canelo launched an uppercut that found its mark, cutting Lara over his right eye.
At the end of 12 rounds it was in the hands of the judges who scored it a split decision in favor of Canelo.
Fans and pundits alike were also split in their reaction to the decision. It was most certainly a case of to what an individual gives the heavier weight, superb boxing and countering or effective aggression.
“I wanted to take the Lara fight because you guys said that I wouldn’t, and because he talked too much about me,” said Canelo. “He said he’d take me to school, well guess what? I don’t think anybody wants to go to that school.”
Fights such as this push the pugilist out of his comfort zone and forces him to grow and learn. It is safe to say that Alvarez walked out of the ring that night with a higher ring IQ than when he entered and is a better rounded fighter for his effort.
2. Miguel Cotto – 11/21/15
Canelo Alvarez’s clash with Miguel Cotto just 18 months ago is key in terms of his mega-fight with Middleweight destroyer Gennady “GGG” Golovkin. Canelo vs. Cotto marked the Mexican’s very first bout in the Middleweight division which was contested for Cotto’s WBC and lineal titles at 160 pounds.
Cotto is not a Middleweight by nature, but stepped up in 2014 to shock the champion, slick boxing Sergio Martinez, dropping him three times in the opening round and annexing the title from the proud, but injured Argentine in 10 rounds.
In the fight just prior to Canelo, Cotto came in at 153.5 to defend his newly minted WBC strap against long-time Middleweight Daniel Geale who he blew away in four rounds.
The classic rivalry of Mexico vs. Puerto Rico drew a sold out crowd of over 11,000 raucous fans to The Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino, Events Center in Las Vegas to view the title fight.
Alvarez was again facing a future Hall of Famer who also possesses a massive following of loyal devotees.
The 35-year-old Cotto has had his share of wars, but he wisely elected to box against his much younger, and naturally larger adversary.
Alvarez, 10 years his rival’s junior, characteristically pursued the Puerto Rican icon for 12 rounds and sought a knockout that would never come.
Cotto has gained championships in four weight classes during his storied career and garnered valuable experience that can only be attained through attrition. He used every ounce of this experience and showed Canelo different looks and veteran moves that kept him competitive to the final bell.
In the end, Canelo once again showed effective aggression and an excellent work ethic that resulted not only in a unanimous-decision victory, but the WBC Middleweight world championship.
1. Floyd Mayweather Jr. 9-14-2013
It has been said that one learns more from a loss than all of their wins. While that statement would be impossible to quantify, it surely wouldn’t have the same weight in every situation.
In Canelo Alvarez’s fight with defensive master Floyd Mayweather however, Canelo certainly went to school. With Mayweather guaranteed $41.5 million and Alvarez projected to receive a career high $12 million, perhaps both walked out with a minor degree in finance as well.
Anticipation for this unification fight was at a fevered pitch. Both fighters were undefeated with high fan profiles and polarizing personalities.
The education that WBC Super Welterweight champion Alvarez would gain courtesy of WBA Super Welterweight kingpin Floyd Mayweather Jr. would start long before they touched gloves prior to the opening bell.
When the fight was announced it sold out in 24 hours and kicked off a massive promotional tour that saw the competitors travel to an exhausting 11 cities over two countries in front of oceans of adoring and often rabid fans.
The evening saw a live crowd of over 16,000 generate a record gate in excess of $20 million dollars which was the largest in Nevada boxing history and set another record with 2.48 million PPV buys. The fight was also shown on Televisa, and also reached 22.1 million viewers in Alvarez’s native Mexico, the highest-rated television event in the nation’s history.
To say that Alvarez received an education prior to the opening bell would be an understatement and this would be the night Floyd “Money” Mayweather would tutor Canelo to his Masters.
Alvarez began with an intelligent strategy, try digging to the body in an attempt to slow Mayweather down. Mayweather had other plans however, and countered well with his patented shoulder roll followed by straight right hand and other crisp shots in return.
Canelo continued to press the attack, but the only punch that appeared to land flush was a low blow in the fourth round.
As the fight progressed Mayweather completely took charge and Canelo’s spirit and confidence was ebbing away, though he continued coming forward.
In the later rounds the proud, young Mexican star showed the effects of Mayweather’s slashing counter punching on his face while Money remained unmarked.
At the final bell it was announced that Mayweather was the winner by a majority decision. It was mysterious, that is until it is considered that infamously incompetent judge C.J. Ross cast the score of 114-114 while the other two judges saw it a much more realistic 116-111 and 120-108.
Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is more than a young veteran of 51 professional fights. He is a student of the game penning his thesis in blood on September 16 and a victory over GGG will see him universally recognized as valedictorian of the Middleweight division.
Fight fans around the world are anxiously waiting for the school bell to ring.
