Immortal - At The Heart of Winter
This shit is just absolutely filled to the brim, and to an insane extent, with some of the most hard hitting, brutal, and yet extremely melodic and engaging black metal riffs I've heard in a good while. The compositions on this thing are sprawling and are the opposite of rushed in their presentation, but the overall feeling is still frenetic and desperate. The icey vocals pair super well, they're the classic black metal fair, and the bass and drum do an amazing job at filling out the track and elevating everything to the next level, but the star on this thing are the guitar tracks which are just so delicate at times they feel like little shards of glass, and then they lacerate your throat. Definitely a great album.

False - Portent
An amazing Atmospheric Black Metal album that feels more like a complete composition from an orchestra then it does a generic four chord black metal album. This thing is fence with beautiful pieces of music that sway from epic and powerful beauty to cruel and hateful ice cold depths. It’s a journey any black metal fan would enjoy. I know some folks have trouble with longer songs, but trust me on this one. Well worth it.
