Hi i have a random question; if you wanted to introduce someone to your favourite actor what three movies would you show them?

Hello! Well, this is a tough one because I'm a casual movie fan at best, especially given modern cinemaTM, but fuck it, we'll do it live! If we can't go with Gene Kelley, I'm gonna go with the Butterscotch Stallion, Owen Wilson himself, because he's generally a good time, and if I had to pick three movies, I'd say Royal Tenenbaums (or any of his work with his Texas brethren Wes Anderson--just remembered he's in Rushmore, too, but that doesn't count), Zoolander, and Cars 2.

for ex on my little inferno's notes she mentioned liking movies which like thats not rare duh, but imo you can say a lot of her style is inspired by more a cinematic language. her works have a lot of dramatic shadows on the environment and so always feel lonely, sombre, slightly detached, more 'objective'.

inverse but related to maruo's art style, that instead of CinemaTM takes more after theater and one kind of old ass dramatic film productions i dont remember the name of, that instead add to a sense of oddness, surrealism, suspension of disbelief, etc.

yes all of my favorites are in season 8. now that i think about it.......the majority of my top ten is in season 8. but!

honorable mention: on the head of a pin - because god tier episode all around. “for the first time, i feel....” gives me BIG cas feels. can’t even think about it too much or i start sobbing

what's on y'all's movie watchlists this year?? any new releases you're particularly excited about??

Our TOP most anticipated is a short film called And Then, directed by Jenn Ravenna. We’ve followed Jenn’s work since she was in illustration and this movie promises to be gorgeously shot. It’s also wonderfully exciting to get a film about queer women of color directed by a queer woman of color.

We’re also so excited for a film airing live on our birthday, February 13! While the TharnType Wedding Day Special rests in a weird spot between special episode and movie, we’re going to count it as a film since it is feature-length. We both got into TharnType the Series in a major way this year, with me (Cody) feeling specifically attached to it. I’ve found that I project quite a bit onto Tharn for a number of reasons, mainly because his character experienced a lot of homophobia with which I am personally familiar, but his arc as well as Type’s internalized homophobia and growth into a proud queer man were genuinely cathartic to experience.

The Green Knight! Dev Patel! Homoerotic CinemaTM!!! What else is there to say!!!!

We are cautiously anticipating No Time to Die, if only for buff lesbian Lashana Lynch. We don’t have a lot of love for the Bond movies, but Skyfall was good, and we do appreciate some occasional mindless action.

Black Widow is of course on our radar as Marvel fans. Her casting remains unfortunate. The movie looks lackluster. Alas, we grew up with Marvel comics, we grew up with Marvel movies, and our love for the ever-frustrating and problematic MCU lives on. I suppose I should add The Eternals as well, then.

We’re hoping The Matrix 4 leans more heavily into the trans themes prevalent in the franchise since the Wachowskis have actually confirmed that was the original intention!

Some others include: Judas And The Black Messiah, Supernova (Keaton Henson did the soundtrack!), and Dear Evan Hansen.

Obviously Chernobyl was very “informative” and “thoughtful”, but the best part about it, the part that elevates it to True CinemaTM is that you get to watch a Malinois go absolutely buckwild chasing after a bus.

i feel like in that case you'd just have way more people who are like "yeah i just dont really like movies that much haha"

that isn't to say we shouldnt strive to tell beautiful stories, because we should, but... different strokes for different folks

EIGHT! eight. 8. season: 8. i would watch season 8. the season i would watch is eight (8). for many reasons, but mostly because i think the purgatory arc was one of the most best things they ever did on supernatural. the CinemaTM of 8x23 sacrifice is just....[chef’s kiss]. also, i think the hell trials were an interesting storyline for sam. that monologue of sam’s about being unclean? PHEW. also also, i mean. the deancas moments are off the charts. also also also, benny.

plus, i think there might only be one episode that season that i actively dislike? which has got to be a record lmao.
