I had the opportunity to draft a children’s book for my illustration class! Due to time constraints I couldn’t flesh it out further, but I’m very satisfied with what I had. Sensory sensitivities can be a nightmare, especially as a child, and it was certainly one of my biggest hurdles as a kid. I’m glad to have the opportunity to have worked on something so personal!

An Adventure with Seymour the Dinosaur At the Hospital https://a.co/d/8kAxn5t
*FLAPS HANDS AROUND IN A PANIC*
The book I illustrated last year is available to purchase and NOBODY TOLD ME! How can I spread the adorableness that is Seymour if NOBODY TELLS ME?!! Ack!!!
It’s a lovely story about a boy who needs surgery and the adventure he has with Seymour while he’s under anesthesia. From the author’s own experience and becoming a doctor because of it, it’s a tale told to soothe scared adolescent patients.
There are pirates and rock monsters and flying trains! It’s lovely and fun!
Please share if you like!❤️

Joxter gauche painting
Tumblr media
Trying to teach myself gauche. Figured traditional mediums would lend themselves to that cozy children’s book style illustrations of moomin characters.
Also, it seems like the internet thinks Joxter is a cat man, but I would like to posit this little critter is more of a river otter. Or like a musk rat (muddler maybe?) or perhaps something in the stoat/Martin/ferret family. He’s got the same facial markings as an otter, we see him on a boat adventure, and the body shape also kinda works. Also personality wise, otters are just like, extra feral water cats.

Edit: or maybe he’s a field mouse? Cat seems to think so

Hello. Are there any bluey fans out there? 👀
Tumblr media
This is an illustration I did earlier this year, while imaging what a bluey book would look like if it was illustrated in a Beatrix Potter inspired style.
I turned the illustration into a mock page of a book and I couldn’t be happier with how it came together 🥰 I would love to do some more of these too, maybe I will when I get some time.

IT’S OUT! My giant gorgeous book, Bugs, a Skittery Jittety History is out in the world!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kirkus 🌟 review: “Aspiring entomologists, paleontologists, and artists won’t want to miss this one.”
My mother’s review: “wow this is a lot of information, like an entomology 101 class.”
And LOOK at the beautiful art Gordy Wright made for it! It’s even prettier in person.
Anyway if you like bugs, check it out.
