I love how there’s no “Steph believed Alex during the vote/Steph didn’t believe Alex during the vote” in the choices at the end of Chapter 5 because she believes Alex no matter what you do in your game.

Like, no shade to Ryan, but… she’s clearly the superior friend and love interest.

“But Jed was his dad” I don’t give a fuck? He needs convincing to believe her: if you don’t have enough people on your side and if you haven’t been nice enough to him, he will side with his dad even when there’s a severely injured woman in front of him as the only evidence he needs not to, even when he has his own suspicion at the back of his mind (he implies so in text messages if you get him to believe in you).

Steph will believe you in literally every scenario: friendship, romance, rejection, whatever, she believes in you! She stands by her promise of having your back no matter what.

Right after this:

Plus she’s a U-Haul lesbian like many of us so what’s not to like?

OKAY CHENRICH FANS. i have a dilemma.

i have been working on a multichapter AU that currently only has ONE chapter finished. the chapter itself is about 8K words long.

the DILEMMA is thus. i have currently shelved this AU for the time being due to it having extremely complex plot threads that i HAVE NOT yet begun to untangle.

i've been sitting on this chapter for.... several months because i've been content to just keep it to myself until i had inspiration to keep working through the complex plot.

BUT. is there anyone out there who would be interested in reading the unfinished chapter anyway?

the summary, if anyone is interested, currently stands as such

Steph believes she has finally escaped her past by finding refuge in Haven Springs. She is working at her dream job - the dream job she has settled for, at least - at the small town’s record shop. But when a thunderstorm, the worst Haven has experienced in years, sweeps through the town, Steph’s trauma from the destruction of her own hometown soon catches up with her. On that very same night, Steph receives a strange phone call from someone who seems to know her somehow. As if they had met before in another life. From then on, Steph’s life is turned upside-down and begins spiraling rapidly out of control. Her sleep is plagued by nightmares of darkness and death and she becomes haunted by memories that don’t seem to be entirely her own. The only person who can give her answers? The mysterious caller who contacted her on the night of that fateful thunderstorm. The very same stranger who seemed to know her intimately. Except for one small problem. Whoever this stranger is, they don’t seem to exist.

Alex Chen and Steph Gingrich | Life is Strange: True Colors

Playing through Life Is Strange: True Colours reminded me of why I loved the original.

The characters were great (except Ryan, eff that guy), storyline was engaging (kinda linear and not hard to follow, but engaging), sidequests felt satisfying, important choices were shown to have serious consequences, music was great as always, and it just made me fall in love with the series all over again.

It's definitely up there with the original, far ahead of BtS and very far ahead of LiS2. (P.S. I read the LiS comics while playing through True Colours, and it meant a lot more to me than I thought it would that Max and Chloe got their true happy ending.)

Following on from my post to @chloepleasestopdying 's thread about Chloe wouldn't wear a dress, etc. Ive expanded my work on this by expanding this idea to more of the LiS cast. Some as you see more comfortable to be dressified up than others (i yielded with PriceField re. the heels as Chloe really was gonna stab me in the throat with one and let her have a pair of clumpy new rock boots.)

Now i'm off to give myself 'NUCLEAR HEAT' amongst the LiS community (if given the reaction to the last time i did it is anything to go by) by committing the cardinal sin of putting Cassidy in one.

What life does Alex lead in Haven Springs? What adventures await for them elsewhere? Steph leads her to ponder these options as she's mourning the loss of her brother who she only had for one day after a decade apart. Alex is devastated, and she has no idea what awaits her.

Reconnecting with Gabe was the plan, and was supposed to be her next move after being in the Helping Hands Group Home. Letting go of what life she had from the past was the plan. But now? She has just revealed the truth about Jed and Typhon and gained justice for Gabe's death.

It's all still settling in for her. Alex has no plan, but Steph has given her a lot to think about. What happens next?

Chapter twelve is up dear readers.

It just took a few months to fix things up.

On one hand, this chapter was supposed to close Rachel's LA arc, and move on to the present day but I had to split the chapter due to length issues (this chapter alone is like 27, 290 words). On the upside, the next chapter should be up sooner than I expect, as it's gonna be more action orientated.

On the other hand, I'm finally including Alex Chen into the story, and will be tying True Colors in with the present day stuff, so this is also our first Chengrich chapter.  

Furthermore, this is also the chapter where we begin to explain Steph having a tulpa, and what it entails.

Also as stated before, Until Dawn tie ins are gonna be more frequent, as the UD cast show up as supporting characters throughout the story. I also reference a UD story I wanted to get to writing but never got around too here. I even put in a quick reference to The Quarry, in case I wanna write a tie-in story with that game too.

Anyways content warning: this chapter has quite a bit of nudity (this was gonna be a smut chapter, but extensive sex scenes were moved to a side story of prompts - think of it as a space for “Deleted Scenes”); depictions and discussions of grooming relationships from Rachel's past; as well as cheating, and the angst that goes with it. The violence I intended for this one is being reserved for the next chapter.
