IN WHICH ?! — Y/n was just a one-hit wonder with her popular track “CRUEL SUMMER” which charted #10 on billboard hot 100. A year and a half later when she releases her second single she’s upset seeing that it’s no where near as big as her debut, that is until ENHYPEN member heeseung recommends it to his viewers.
“It’s almost Christmas, are you excited, engene?!” Heeseung asked as he shuffled through his playlist. He looked up from his phone, reading comments. “Heeseung-ah, what’s a song you’ve been loving recently.”
“Ooh! there’s this song by this soloist named Pae—or is it bae? Her name is Pae or Bae Y/n. You guys might’ve heard her debut song, Cruel Summer. It was super big last year and I really liked it and wanted to hear more from her and she recently just had a comeback!”
“It’s called—Sour Grapes! I’ll play it right now, but please go check it out on your own as well!” The song started playing.
Heeseung hummed along with the lyrics. “I really like her lyrics too! She has writing credits and I think that’s so cool.”
“Love is a sour grapes!” Heeseung sang along.

UY New Trailer Dump:
Previously we knew we were getting at least chapters 1, 4, 15 and 22 adapted, based on the first trailer. Now we have confirmation that in addition to those chapters 5, 8, 10, 30, potentially chapter 55, and potentially 137 are being adapted.
Interestingly it looks like they pushed Mendo's introduction (chap 22) to very early on in their series (probably one of the first 4-5 episodes). This is the logical choice if they want market it as a school comedy imo, but it creates a slight continuity error if Kurama is introduced AFTER Mendo, meaning chapters 136-138 probably got pushed up to quickly follow chapters 16-18, so that the first and second Kurama mini arcs are relatively back to back. OR Mendo's just interfering in chapters 16-18, I guess.
The music choice is very different from the music choices of the old anime. Respectively both are very connected to their eras but I really like the music choice in the trailer. Definitely fits the frantic and upbeat vibe, and I’m glad the new anime isn’t planning to cost on pure nostalgia. Electronic fast faced pop definitely fits Urusei Yatsura.
One thing I’m confused about in the trailer though is what is being said between 1:08 and 1:10. Does anyone else know?

Homura Arc (chapters 100-104) - How Ban's character highlighted Natori and Matoba's bond/Frienemieship/Whatever it is they have through cats

Heads up I haven't read the non translated chapter so this is only resting on the canon we have up to chap 108.
I've always considered NatsuYuu to be a cat people story in part because most characters have cat-like tendencies (especially if they're Ayakashi related, whether because they're Yokai or because they can see/feel them). This show is about the importance of interpersonal relationship and those are treated very much with a cat themed thesis of "even if it's just for a second and you find happiness with other people, it doesn't make its impact lesser than"...Also Natsume punching creatures bigger than he is and running away immediately is peak cat behavior u.u.
Generally speaking there are very few humans in this show who give the cat vibe as much as Matoba Seiji does.
However I didn't expect Midorikawa sensei to play with it this literally instead of just jokingly (if one day we get a chapter with any character, but especially Matoba being turned into a cat I'll die)...
More seriously though, the focus of this story is Maneki Neko exorcism tools and the fact that Ban wants to capture them for his Master who happen to be Matoba Seiji's Sister (whom I will call Lady Matoba from now on for practicality). Which actually give us these two as foils
through the Matoba siblings feud(?).
Surprising, I know. I actually don't know the point of this, I've mostly noticed a pattern and am trying to write my thoughts down.
First let's take a look at what we know of where Matoba Seiji and Natori Shuuchi are at, at the beginning of this story.
So far in the main story Matoba and Natori have been established as people who know each other through having clearly worked together before which brings some level of knowledge about each other that's common between colleagues and Natori is particularly distrustful of Matoba. They still both acknowledge the other's skills.
We've also got to know only a few chapters prior that they have known each other since high school and had moments which they remembered differently. Natori remembered not liking the loquat he tried meanwhile Matoba remembered being offered loquats only because he was with Natori and remembering the context as well as remembering Natori's experience too.
The flashback chapters, which we have had for longer, give a lot more depth to this. We know that Natori's distrust is caused both by Matoba's attitude toward casually using others (well, him specifically) AND because of Natori's family rejection because of who he is. Basically Natori has a huge inferiority complex and doesn't know how to have interpersonal relationships.
Meanwhile Matoba seeked him out regularly 'cause lonely teenage boy, and because he too sucks at interpersonal relationships, he tried to find a pragmatic reasoning for why he was there. Since he was basically raised to live, breathe and die for his clan his pragmatism is inherently linked to that. Whether he was trying to find use for his clan and took the opportunity to find a friend or he wanted a friend and took the opportunity to help his clan is left unsaid. Either way he tried to get both.
It generally seems mostly one sided in the fondness department. with the exception of that one time Natori woke up after being possessed, Matoba seems to be the only one trying to turn this into an actual friendship.
So on the one hand we've got Matoba seeking Natori out and trying to befriend him but unable to be vulnerable because that would make his clan vulnerable. Matoba even tried to get Natori to come to his clan so he'd get a talented exorcist and get an actual friend out of it (vulnerability would not be as much of a problem if it's from the inside. Granted I doubt he though that far ahead). Matoba who is used to being rejected and still tries. Though he stops trying to recruit Natori he still seeked him out. Until he stopped which we don't know a thing about.
On the other we've got Natori who doesn't want to be vulnerable out of fear of being rejected, who takes Matoba at face value and never really tries to see past the Clan Heir to who Matoba is because Matoba's front gives him an excuse to fear vulnerability.
The one time he tried, Matoba got cold feet because while hoping, he's never actually had anybody try to reciprocate a genuine interest in him as a person and didn't know how to react so he fell back on known mechanisms.
This is represented by their names. Matoba calling Natori by his first name and getting him to call him Seiji and them arriving at adulthood using their last names with a polite distance.
Neither was in a good enough place to actually manage to build strong foundations so there are foundations but they're kind of just...there waiting to be reinforced and built on.
So that's it for the run down.
But why does that matter ? Well this chapter nuances everything through more or less subtle additions which hasn't really happened yet in the main story, at least not on such a big scale.
Natori's familiarity with the Matobas
We start the arc with Natori recognizing an object belonging to someone we don't know. Just that they make him shudder. We learn at the very end that this is Lady Matoba. Which brings some behaviors to a different light.
For example when explaining who Ban is and what kind of person he is sevring, we get this:

OK but Eddie's announcement about leaving the 118 and putting Buck on the spot at the end of 510 is sooooo similar to the way he chose to enroll in the army leaving Shannon behind.
In both cases he's running away with the excuse of taking care of his son (both were fully valid, but still excuses).
He admits to Carla that the shooting and the kidnapping both impacted him, the same way he admitted to Buck that he left for the army because he was scared.
Except now he clings to his son instead of leaving him behind. But he still leaves his partner behind without discussing with them the fact that he won't be able to have their backs first.
If there was any moment Eddie needed to get Therapy... It's now.

it's so weird. we've all gotten so used to post timeskip eren and his apathy that in 139 when eren expresses his desire to live on with his friends and stay with mikasa and his fear of death it seems out of character. now that i've read the chapter a couple of times the only thing that seems like it came out of left field is his feelings for mikasa. eren's desire to live, his love for his friends, and his regret for risking their lives is really nothing new, it's been so long since we've seen him like this that it feels weird.

Levihan in "Interesting things about Falcon mythology"
So, I was rereading SnK for the sake of my chap 136 analysis, and now I think my brain has stopped working lmao. I'm 99,99% sure this is kinda CRAZY. But it's interesting. (And idk if someone already noticed this too or similar myths, but if so send it to me, please!)
In Egypt Mythology:
The right eye of a falcon represents the sun and the left eye is the moon. This for God Horus. (Also associated with God Ra)
"The right eye of Horus was the sun or morning star, representing power and quintessence, and the left eye was the moon or evening star, representing healing. "
"Quintessence is the fifth and highest element in ancient and medieval philosophy that permeates all nature and is the substance composing the celestial bodies. The essence of a thing in its purest and most concentrated form."
Seth is a God whose form is made of all kinds of animals.
In a fight with Seth, Horus’s left eye was damaged—this being a mythical explanation of the moon’s phases— and was healed by the God Thoth.
Levi has only his left eye (moon). Hange had only right eye (sun). Zeke had the Beast Titan (titan with power of turning into all kinds animals)
Horus, then, would be both Levi and Hange. Seth is Zeke.
Thoth (who cured Horus after fighting Seth) is also the god of the moon, of reckoning, of learning, and of writing. (Yams lol)
Chapter 125 is named "Sunset".
You know what the Sunset is?! An "eternal" moment in between, where (if you pay attention) Sun and Moon can be seen shining together before the darkness takes over.
In Sunset, we have finally Hange and Levi back after 84 years disappeared!
But wait, they disappeared in chapter 115, right? And so, up to chapter 125, it took 10 months to bring them back. (Is that a "birth of something?")
In chapter 126, together, Levi and Hange convince Pieck and Magath to help to stop the Rumbling.
We could say Horus has both eyes back...
SnK volume 32 has its 1st and 4th chapters named "Night of the End" and "The Dawn of Humanity."
In the cover, Levi (moon) is not present, but we have the "in-between" moment. The Sunset* again.
And Hange (sun) literally looks like the sun in the center, as all the weapons make "sunbeams" around her.
During the 04 chapters of this volume Levi barely appears. Which also explains he not visually in the cover.
Hange, however, is a pillar for plans, reunions and the preparations for humanity's last hope. (Like a real Sun...)
In chap. 127 (Night of the End), Hange "mediates" everyone's nerves. Enemies become allies.
In chap. 130 (The Dawn of Humanity) Hanji, defines that their team is going to try stop Eren. We have literally the sunrise there.
In Chapter 132, Wings of Freedom, we have the undeniable eyes and SC wings parallels. (You must have already seen them around in other posts...)
Levi says to "Devote your heart" using his hand over Hange's heart. (Like he is dedicating his to her).
Hange saves everyone while BURNING BRIGHT AND HOT LIKE THE SUN, MTFCK!
God Thoth, who cured Horus left eye after he fought Seth, "weighed the hearts of the deceased at their judgment and reported the result to the presiding god, Osiris, and his fellow judges."
Hange died using her wings to fight for freedom, and met her fallen comrades. Erwin says she did well. Her friends help her. So her "judgment/sentence" is not condemnation/punishment.
From chapter 133 to 138, Levi gave his everything to protect and save people. And the main guide was Hange's last idea - killing Zeke might stop the Rumbling.
Falco comes from "Falcon".
The "falcon" (which points to God Horus in this text) saves Levi and everyone in chapter 135, "Battle of Heaven and Earth".
Despite being completely ripped apart, Levi is still fighting to restore the "human world" by stopping the Titans and the Rumbling.
The Eye of Horus, in ancient Egypt, is a symbol representing protection, health, and restoration.
Levi is the only eye left.

Levi to Mikasa - Rivamika though the seasons in Mikasa’s POV
This post is completely focused on Mikasa’s character. Some details will be ignored because they aren’t related to her.
When we say that Rivamika has the biggest relationship development, we’re not wrong. They both changed their opinions about each other during the story, especially Mikasa. Today, we’ll see how she went from hating Levi to asking for his help, with the all phases between.
| First stage: “I hate you” | Season 1 |
Probably you guys already know how their relationship started: exactly, not in a good way. They first meet in the trial when Eren was on trial; after our Titan Boy started to shout at everyone there, Levi beated him really well poor Eren. Obviously Mikasa wasn’t happy of her brother getting clobbered by a shorty and she was ready to intervene. Fortunately, Armin was there to stop her, so she just settled for staring him angrily.
Notice that: EMA met Levi before the trial two times: When Levi saved them from the titan who was about to eat them, and in Levi’s introducing chapter, where he did his first apparition as “Humanity’s strongest soldier”. There is a panel which shows EMA admiring Levi from afar, and their expressions are completely amazed. The man Mikasa considered an hero, beated roughly her brother. She must have felt really disappointed, and maybe also betrayed: the man who saved her friends and her from death, showed himself to be an asshole (sorry for my language ) This gave another meaning to Mikasa’s grudge against him, which is closer to her as a character than the one everybody knows (since it’s related to Eren)
This stage of hate continue until the Battle against the Female Titan (chap. 30), where Mikasa and Levi team up to rescue Eren from Annie. Mikasa loses her mind but fortunately, Levi is ready to intervene. Mikasa isn’t really friendly, instead she blames Levi for what happened to her brother. He recognizes her and address her as “Eren’s friend” lol. Now, take a look to this panel.
Mikasa’s face, it seems like she felt uncomfortable after Levi’s stare, or maybe, she’s wondering what Levi’s glare means. Honestly, I’m still wondering the meaning of the zoom in Mikasa’s eyes. Personally, this is the best among their interactions; their faces, their reactions on what the other says, hits hard, really hard. It makes me sad to know that many ignored this moment. This fandom really lacks attention with details.
Anyway, Levi gives Mikasa instructions on how to proceed, and in the beginning she seems to agree, but then she decides to do things her own way so she attacks Annie. Unfortunately, her reckless move makes her risk her own life. Here Levi saves her for the first time, and he end up breaking his ankle. When they recover Eren, Levi makes her understand that her actions have consequences, and they aren’t pleasing. This is the first time Mikasa develops thanks to Levi: she understands how much selfish she was and she acknowledged her error.
| Second stage: “I respect you” | Season 2 |
Their next, and only, interaction in season 2 is when Levi tells her to protect Eren and to not be reckless. This is the first time Mikasa addresses him as “captain”, showing that she respects him as a superior.
Another thing here very important for Mikasa’s character development is when she accepted that it was her fault for Levi’s injury and she takes responsibility for her reckless actions. She understood that what she did was wrong, indipendentally from her grudge against Levi.
Plus Levi’s cute and jealous scene.
| Third stage: “We’re a team” | Season 3 |
Season 3 is Rivamika season: from the introduction of the Ackerman Clan, to their interactions, to everything. In the first part, we see them team up and fight to rescue Eren again and Historia. They work perfectly together; there’s a lot of chemistry between them and they seem to be connected with thier body and thoughts, so much that Mikasa becomes Levi’s right hand; she’s always next to him, here to help him. One of our precious interactions is when Mikasa says sorry to him in her own way, asking him “How’s your leg?”. It’s a big development in their relationship; Mikasa doesn’t feels resentment against Levi anymore, she feels guilty for his injury, and it’s the first time that she says sorry to someone ;) I think
Notice that: Mikasa changes when she’s with Levi: she’s more independent, freer than how she’s with Eren. That’s why I think that Levi is perfect for her, because with him we see the real Mikasa. What Eren tells to her in 138, to be free, is what Mikasa was in S3 with Levi.
When they talked under the moonlight my romantic heart about the Ackerman Clan, after they discovered Kenny’s surname, Mikasa shared her past with Levi, telling him how their parents felt in love and got married (WOWE PARTICULAR SHE SAID IT TO LEVI, REALLY STRANGE AND QUESTIONABLE-), but they had to hide in the mountains because of the Ackerman persecutions. In Rivamika relationship, Ackertalk is the symbol of their deep trust, Mikasa spontaneously shared her past with Levi, and similarity, when they acknowledge that they share an important moment in their life, the awakening of their Ackerpower.
I think that Levi has already understood how many things they share. Probably Mikasa not, but it’s not too late ;) I think that now that she has the possibility to spend more time with Levi, she’ll understand their similarities.
Now, the fire of their relationship: Ackerbowl. Many says that it has destroyed their relationship development, but I don’t think so. Levi had to choose between his best friend, Erwin, someone very important to him, and Armin, someone very important to Mikasa and Eren. If Levi would have won, saving Erwin, Mikasa would have lost. They both didn’t enjoy to fight against each other, but there’s a moment in your life when you have to define your priorities. Mikasa asked to Levi to give her the serum “politely”, she said “Please give it to me”, which means that hurting Levi wasn’t part of her plans. She respected and trusted that shorty, and things haven’t changed.

I don’t know if it’s due the lack of interactions or everything, but I really can’t define what they are right now. They seem to have passed the 3th stage, but they haven’t reached the 4th stage yet. Hmm... what I can say about this season is that Mikasa seems to feel comfortable with Levi to start a physical contact (Never happened), and to ask for his help. There were a lot of foreshadows during the chapter 138 so let’s hope the best for the next one.

otp: well damn jyugo/uno mostly it's the only one i've been into so far.

Do they only understand that chap 138 wasn’t about Mikasa letting go on Eren like at all ?
We already know that she can live without Eren. Since Trost arc we did ! She already stated that she’ll keep moving on if he dies and will carry on his memory. No need to repeat despite that Yams has many morons readers.
This time it was about the end of their dialogue : « go and come back safe and sound »

GOT’s quote, “love is the death of duty” makes sense now after reading the latest chap 138
basically, mikasa is reaaaallyyy madly inlove with eren like she really hallucinated another alternate ending, which travelled through paths and eren received it on chap 1 of the manga (the start, specifically)
the reason why she had those headaches, is because of the hallucinations that’s been keeping her head aching lately or ever since, until it was revealed in the latest chap (with levi) and the quote really matches it up because,
if you love someone, you are willing to give up everything just for him/her (and mikasa wanted that for her selfish desires, the hallucinations which shows if ever she answered a different answer eren’s question in ch 123 and leave paradis and prob kill everyone due to that)
and the death of duty, which means it’s basically the end of your duty as a soldier, a person in war (or literally, surrender) as a soldier, a person in a goddamn war and in the rumbling, mikasa has learned that everything does not revolves around eren anymore. countless people whom she cared about died, and everything was tragic. her duty being a soldier hinders her to be with eren, so it’s either love or duty.
and mikasa chose duty, over love.
and ymir was watching it, mirroring how duty is the always been winning over love. selfish desires vs selflessness.
and to move forward. to move on, and survive.
