Much like I said before, I really like Nami’s reaction here. When faced with the fact that Luffy’s gotten himself stuck between a couple buildings with a giant-ass tidal wave bearing down, Nami gets doesn’t act helpless. She gets pissed, and then she does something about it.

The crew is pretty split up right now, but in the absence of Luffy and Zoro she’s definitely the one who’s in charge, and she handles that responsibility really well.

Sooo to me nighteye and all might's situation reflect bkdk. i guess the main reason hori included these quotes here was because the person at stake at this part was all might. But man does it parallel katsudeku. From way back to the start of the series, and throughout the series.

> The need and want to save the other: 'prevent the future in which you get killed' + 'searched for a way to change things'.

Are these not things izuku did try to do for katsuki?? and what katsuki DID DO.

just some incidents between the 2 boys that i can think of relating to the quotes for now:

- sludge incident

- LoV kidnapping aka one of izuku's self-deemed top failure (soon to replaced by what he saw he was too late to in ch 367)

- katsuki helping izuku train ofa

- katsuki saving izuku's life

- even izuku leaving UA to ensure his loved ones(ahem kacchan) weren't targeted

pls i want to crawl into both of bkdk's minds and scribble everything down.

> on a similar tangent, related to this above panel, katsuki also faced a gruesome end that awaited him, and continued down that path.

> katsuki got up and faced the undoubtedly terrifying shigaraki, and still tried his best to win. In a bid to keep the image of victory izuku knows him to be, a subtle nod to the class where izuku and katsuki were paired up against all might, and izuku got angry at katsuki for considering the idea of giving up just because he didnt want to use izuku's power/cooperate.

i wanna squeeze more out but for now all i can do is to scribble down some parallels i saw between these duos. basically bkdk has eaten into my mind.

I was rereading a few chapters back, I got very overwhelmed by the sheer meaning of a scene that suddenly hit me today. I guess I didn't fully comprehend it on my first read even when I've read metas about how important that one panel meant.

Just at the moment he detonated his own heart, knowing that there's no chance of survival after his actions, we see Katsuki's mental state.

He's apparently in a calm, peaceful state, as if he's accepted what's gonna come, and the first thing he sees is vestige AM. And the only thing that comes to his mind is

The genuine wish that if only he could be his true self all this time.

I think there's a nuance in here. From what I felt, the highlight here isn't that there's a vestige AM in him (tho that fact is equally important for the story), but the fact that Katsuki isn't looking at AM at all even when he's right in front of him.

It's the AM card. The sheer significance of its existence and the importance it held for Katsuki.

Katsuki kept this card doesn't just signify that he still has a nerdy side in him, the side that how much he had admired AM all this time.

No. What he sees through the card was the precious time that he once shared with Izuku. The knowledge that he, on that day, so fortunately got the same AM card with Izuku, a kid who he could never stop thinking about throughout his 10+ years.

Have you started to comprehend that one panel that change the meaning of this small moment?? The sequence leading to that panel, before and after it, the implication that it brings?? Have you ever wondered why the card was highlighted two times in these scene?

Yeah people joked that it's bcs Izuku loves AM and couldn't ignore a damaged merch. But to Katsuki, the card meant a bond that he could have with Izuku if he hadn't been feeling insecure and inferior due to his pride this whole time.

In fact, he wasn't lamenting his missed chance of getting a signed merch from AM.

Towards his last moment, he was still only thinking of Izuku, of the missed out moments that they could have nerded out about AM together all this time. He recalled that precious memory while making a genuine and candid smile to himself.

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 362 AND AN ATTEMPT AT META //

upon reading the chapter, do I still think bkg is not going to stay dead?

honestly, if horikoshi were ever to kill off a big character, this is exactly how I’d imagine he’d do it. elaborate, detailed, well-built-up, unavoidable, in-character, big beautiful full- and double-page panels, childhood flashbacks, lethal COD

but! with that said. this is bakugou. he’s the deuteragonist, the main character’s narrative foil (and childhood friend and image of victory and closest person and hero inspiration other than AM) and maybe I’m still deep in clownery but the minor events of this chapter felt very intentional. what was this panel of Second that scared shigafo? was it memory bc bkg looks like him? or build up for more, maybe the unlocking of his quirk?

a lot of people agree that however bkg ends up, his state rn will trigger izuku to unlock second’s quirk. is AFO realizing that bakugou will have ties to second’s quirk? is this a hint to what that quirk is?

back to is he will he stay dead. horikoshi made it very obvious his heart burst, an explosion out of his chest made obvious in the last double page spread where the blood is obvious. this is a very heavily emphasized lethal cause of death. horikoshi wants us to know he could not survive this…

….normally, on his own. this could be hori very clearly saying to give him up, he can’t get back from this, but I can’t help but think this emphasis is to set up for his revival. to make it obvious however it’s done is insanely powerful. unnatural, even.

yes I think second’s quirk will play a role in izuku bringing him back. I would have dismissed this for copium if not for the fact that second was referenced in this chapter, as shigafo yelled for bkg to die (literally: break).

hori loves foreshadowing. and leaving things unexplained in order to make a big scene. last we saw izuku, we learned seconds quirk has mutated. it’s unique. probably super powerful…. like if you consider the laws of nature hm

bkg’s death was so detailed, so gruesome, that it’s clear the point was to emphasize that he is very, very not alive. the thing is, hori loves to subvert expectations, so this could be to thoroughly kill him off in a way he deserves, or to make what happens next all the more exciting.

but maybe he’s dead! idk. it’s definitely not a coincidence Second was referenced before bkg died but it might have just been foreshadowing for izuku’s quirk awakening alone, no reviving involved. I just can’t wait to see what izuku will do in two weeks 😳

Genuinely don't understand b/kdk in a fandom sense. Its probably the most popular ship, yet i see so much hate for it in random chapter comment sections??? Is Bkg just that polarizing as a character to ppl
