It has been a hot minute since I posted anything. Work has me exhausted. But hopefully this double present makes up for it!
@lucilla-sims converted both the top and the shorts for AF+ TF, and I loved them so much that I’ve converted them for children! I’ve swapped the wedge espadrilles for @lazyeyelids espadrilles for a more child-appropriate look.
For the shorts: these are best suited for tucked shirts! Untucked shirts don’t quite fit.

this is p much entirely inspired by this one snap aha. polkadot denim recolours of @keoni-chan's conversion of the cottage living overall dress made top only by @deedee-sims for CF-AF, everyday, plus Julie J's conversion of Whysim's terra overall bottom and @taylors-simblr TF conversion (which has the texture a bit stretched on the lower legs as you might be able to see on the picture). All meshes are included. they all come in 5 denim tones- light, medium, dark, white and black ^^

my first collab with wonderful @applewatersugar! we're both a big fan of @jius-sims's shoes, just... not quite the polycount that they come with. so piper was amazing and manually poly-reduced all 6 shoes from their children's shoes collection 04, while i've converted them to ts2, plus made fullbody outfits for them to go with! 🥰
there are 6 pantless bottoms for children in this download, plus 6 fullbody outfits, for toddlers and kids, to pair with them! i tried to keep them all unique, with tights and stockings as decoration 🥰 where it made sense some of them are unisex, but more details are under the cut. everything is low- to medium-poly. we hope to continue this collaboration, and eventually convert all of jius's shoes to ts2, so stay tuned!!

On the twenty-second day of GOATmas, my Goatie gave to me...
...skirts with cozy tights and water-proof boots! For girls!
So cute! Your child sims need some weather-appropriate bottoms, and these fit the bill. They just needed 12 recolors, that's all.
The mesh by Abbey12388 was lacking a fat morph, and the bottom of the shoe was mapped in a way where the texture would appear on the sims' upper arm. I fixed that. If you happen to have MESH_Abbey_CFskirtwithrainboots in your files, my fix will overwrite the mesh.

Some notes to myself for writing gay Roman dudes, based on details from Roman Homosexuality by Craig Williams. Not intended as authoritative, but I thought it might be useful for other writers:
Class matters. Are they both freeborn? Slaves? Is one a slave or freedman? This will play a big role not just in the power dynamics between them, but also in what their peers would consider socially acceptable.
Age matters. The Romans judged adult men more harshly for acting "effeminate" than they did for adolescent boys.
Yes, adult/teen relationships were a thing in ancient Rome. Not specifically a male/male thing; girls were usually married off as teens, too. But if (like me) you'd rather not write that, there's plenty of evidence for relationships between adult men (or between two teens), too. There were at least a few triads and other non-monogamous living arrangements, too.
Roman men wouldn't think of themselves as gay, bi or straight. They could certainly have preferences for one gender or another, but that wouldn't have any social consequences. There was no need to "come out" as being attracted to men; everybody knew that sometimes dudes were just hot.
On the other hand, performing masculinity was a big deal. There was a lot of pressure for men to act assertive, sexually dominant, self-controlled, and to get married and have kids. This could be compatible with also having sex with men - as long as you were the "man" in the relationship (excuse the heteronormative phrase). But more "effeminate" partner(s) would be looked down upon.
The Romans cared a lot about who topped or bottomed. This had consequences for a man's reputation. It could be interesting to explore how your characters react to these pressures, how they view themselves, and how they talk to their partners about it.
Sometimes falling in love was seen as unmanly. Roman masculinity demanded that men exercise control of their desires, and a man who seemed too emotional might get mocked or seen as weak. This might make for a neat internal conflict if a character cares way more than he's "supposed to" about his partner.
For consenting adult men, the "dangers" of a romantic/sexual relationship were low. This was not 1960s America; there were no cops busting down gay bars. A man who was seen as effeminate could get mocked, slandered, or passed over for promotion, and he might not be allowed to work as a lawyer. But he wouldn't have been ostracized, and almost certainly wouldn't face criminal charges. Numerous men were called "effeminate" but had successful careers. Wealth, family connections, or a strong military record could also shield a man from stigma to some extent. (Cf. Caesar getting called the "Queen of Bithynia" throughout his career.)
The concept of male/male marriage was understood and talked about. We have some limited (and maybe false?) stories of it happening, and it was never legally recognized. But our Roman sources claimed it happened sometimes, so Roman characters could theoretically consider doing it, too.
The strongest sexual stigmas appear to have been reserved for cunnilingus, fellators and female adulterers, not for effeminate men, and not for male/male couples.
Not all Romans had the same attitudes. Rome was super diverse in the 200 BCE-200 CE period. There were many ethnicities, languages, and religions in Rome itself, and people traveled a lot. Opinions also varied from more conservative to more open-minded Romans, between social classes and professions, and different schools of philosophy. Individuals developed their own opinions, too. So you have a lot of flexibility as a writer for what Roman characters might believe, and what their social circles and daily life might look like.
There was a general shift in the 300s CE toward prudishness. Laws got stricter, both toward homosexuality and toward non-married heterosexual affairs.
There's a difference between having prejudiced characters, and a prejudiced narrative. You might also choose not to talk about prejudice in your story if you don't want to. It's your story, after all.
(Please correct me if I got something really wrong. Not all scholars agree with Williams' conclusions, but I haven't had time to read others yet.)

Most of you aren’t political scientists, so you are likely unaware of the (vast) literature that insists that the Supreme Court is in the business of legal decision making, not political decision making.
This literature is (and always was) utter nonsense. Cf., today’s ruling about reviewing Trump’s claim of absolute immunity as president. Naked politics from top to bottom. Bush v Gore twaddle.

Geological and Historical Evidence for Jesus’ Crucifixion Account
At Jesus’ crucifixion, Matthew (27:45-54) reported “From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’ (cf., Psalm 22)…And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment, the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people. When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, ‘Surely he was the son of God!’”
Matthew’s passage includes two events that can be historically and geologically confirmed: (1) Darkness covered the land for three hours (c.f., Matthew 27:45; Mark 15:33; Luke 23:44-45) and (2) An earthquake occurred.
“At that same moment about noontide, the day was withdrawn; and they, who knew not that this was foretold concerning Christ, thought it was an eclipse. But this you have in your archives; you can read it there. Yet nailed upon the cross, Christ exhibited many notable signs, by which his death was distinguished from all others. At his own free-will, he with a word dismissed from him his spirit, anticipating the executioners’ work. In the same hour, too, the light of day was withdrawn, when the sun at the very time was in his meridian blaze. Those who were not aware that this had been predicted about Christ, no doubt thought it was an eclipse.”

What Caused the Three-hour Period of Darkness?
Before determining that the three-hour period of darkness is due to supernatural causes, we must rule out the natural possibilities. We have experienced natural events that have caused darkness during the daylight hours. These include when volcanoes erupt and emit dark clouds and when storms occur and cover the sky with clouds. Yet no Biblical or secular sources indicate any support for a volcanic explosion or storms, so we can rule out those two natural events.
What about an eclipse? The positioning of the sun and moon is required to answer this question. We have much support for the dating of Jesus’ crucifixion on Friday the 14th of Nissan in the year 33 (April 3, 33). This date was further predicted in the book of Daniel (9). Passovers only occurred during a full moon, so an eclipse would not have been possible due to the moon’s location on the far side of the earth away from the sun. Even if the positioning were conducive to an eclipse, eclipses only darken the earth for short moments, not for three hours, so we have another reason to rule out that natural option.
Is the Best Explanation to Explain this Event a Supernatural Explanation?
I will let readers answer that question for themselves.
Geological Support for the Earthquake
Scholars have reported that devastating earthquakes occurred in Jerusalem during Christ’s death (Mallet, 1853; Rigg, 1941). This occurred in a region that includes the Dead Sea fault, which is a plate boundary that separates the Arabian plate and the Sinai sub-plate (Garfunkel, 1981). This fault has been active since the Miocene (Kagan, Stein, Agnon, & Neuman, 2011) and the fault is still active today (De Liso & Fidani, 2014). The fault extends from the Red Sea in the south to the Taurus Mountains in the north.
Kagan and colleagues (2011) analyzed seismites in the Holocene Dead Sea basin by constructing two age-depth chronological models based on atmospheric radiocarbon ages of short-lived organic debris with a Bayesian model. Seismites are sedimentary beds and structures, which are deformed by seismic shaking. The scholars analyzed seismites in different areas of the basin, finding that several synchronous seismites appeared in all sections during particular years, including 33 AD (+/- 2 sigma; 95% confidence interval). Other years in which earthquakes occurred as evidenced by seismites are (AD unless otherwise noted): 1927, 1293, 1202/1212, 749, 551, 419, 33, 31 BC, and mid-century B.C.
After analyzing laminated sedimentary cores recovered at the shores of the Dead Sea, Migowski, Agnon, Bookman, Negendank, and Stein (2004) also confirmed an earthquake in 33 AD with a magnitude of 5.5. They documented earthquakes around 33 AD in 31 BC and 76 AD. The scholars analyzed seismites using radiocarbon dating.
Ben-Menahem (2014) conducted a literature review of empirical studies over 4,000 years of seismicity along the Dead Sea Rift. The scholar referenced the aforementioned studies along with one by Enzel, Kadan, and Eyal (2000) before concluding that earthquakes occurred in Masada in 31 BC, Jerusalem in 33 AD, and near Nablus in 64 AD.
In summary, the literature on seismicity along the Dead Sea basin supports the assertion that an earthquake occurred either in or very close to the year 33 AD.
We can pinpoint the date even closer – to April 3, 33. A United States government federal agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, has documented the major earthquakes throughout history. According to their website (NOAA.gov), in 33 AD, an earthquake occurred at the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in Bithynia and Palestine and Palestine, Jerusalem.
Conclusion
In summary, we have extensive extra-biblical support for the accounts of darkness and the earthquake during Jesus’ crucifixion. Taken together, these events support the historicity of the account of Jesus’ crucifixion.

So I’m slowly but surely building back up an alpha hair folder in the Sunshine System - because a) I like it and b) it’s one of the systems I like that has a substantial amount of hairs already done in it and I thought I’d do some hairs I’ve been eyeing in it. I was originally going to do a batch but I don’t have the time nor patience lol.
Anyways, here I have for you is Newsea’s Mirror Angel originally converted by @entropy-sims in the following:
Four natural Sunshine Colours
All of Poppet’s unnatural colours
Wyxii’s Mint
A custom Volatile as an unnatural
@blackswan-sims‘s Incendicite and Lightning (because pretty colours make brain go brrr) as shown in the bottom two pictures above
Everything’s been compressed, grey linked to black, naturals binned and unnaturals will show up in the custom bin. Bodyshop pictures of all swatches under read more. Enjoy!

Well, look!
Fun, colorful and ultra simple pajamas for your girl children!
So, I was digging through some very old TSR uploads (as I do sometimes) and I came across THIS upload:
Cute, right? I really liked the idea of it! A simple, long tunic with leggings is exactly the kind of pj's that are missing from my game.
This is a *new* mesh.
It's nothing fancy - just cfbodydressshortbell with blockfeet.
You would think that such a thing existed already, but no.
And so many recolors, of course! This has 24 recolors.
Most of the textures are from fabric websites. Save for the tie-dye one at the bottom left; that's from Parsimonious.
The legging texture is from Xandher at TSR (their Chorus leggings). The nightgown I did myself - it's okay, but pretty simple.
PSD is included if you'd like to make more recolors!

Girls' Accessory Pantalettes - 4 versions
Hey! Do you want accessory pantalettes for children? Well, here they are! These were requested by @inlovewithregencyera.

Found in the leggings category
Come in 4 lengths - V1 is ankle-length and V4 ends a bit below the knees.
Pantalettes taken from Kirsten's Winter Outfit (though I do realize that's not where they're originally from. that's where I got em)
2 swatches - plain white and with a subtle lace texture at the bottom (which, in hindsight, isn't particularly noticeable in-game. But you can see it in CAS!)
Not all socks are compatible with the texture, but one pair I've found to generally work well are the Tea Socks from this pack
I don't recommend combining them with dresses shorter than knee-length or anything with preexisting pantalettes. It doesn't look good.
Some dresses also end up sort of... highjacking the pantalette texture.
HOWEVER, this can actually end up looking alright! While most pantalettes were white, they did sometimes match the dresses. But then again, the dresses were usually white as well.

Known issues:
They do a strange exploding thing in certain situations. I've noticed it in CAS, household portraits (the ones seen in the household manager), and the portrait in the bottom left corner in Live Mode. It doesn't seem to be an issue in gameplay though! And it only SOMETIMES occurs in cas. If it's very annoying, switching to another outfit and then back to the one you were editing should get rid of the exploding.
