When I am skeptical of a woman/girl labeling herself as asexual, I'm doing it from a feminist perspective.
How many times have we read of women saying some brainwashed bullshit along the lines of "Orgasming during sex isn't important to me, the special part is feeling close to my partner!" Or the whole conservative woman thing about "wifely duties" where sex is seen as maintenance of the relationship instead of something you enjoy together.
Women are taught by society that our pleasure and autonomy isn't a part of the bigger picture. The increased usage of the asexual label is an attempt to cope with that flawed sentiment instead of fighting it, in addition to women just plain not being attracted to people who don't enhance their lives.
Many of the women who call themselves asexual actually mean celibate (or wish they could be celibate), but that word carries baggage that they understandably don't want. If we want the word "asexual" to have meaning, it's important to focus on telling women that their pleasure DOES matter and it's okay to have standards that no one is meeting.

The only reason people give a shit about being in a romantic relationship is because we been brainwashed to center our wellbeing around romantic relationships
Romantic relationships aren't something we just have to people, it's a life goal, your reason for living, the reason for your happiness, your whole world, without it you'll be single and "alone" (you ain't got friends and family? I hate when ppl say this shit) like if it's a bad thing! For fuck sake your not going to die if your single and you shouldn't be depressed about it.
It only shows you center your whole being around another which is unhealthy, it shows you are a shallow, hollow, and emotionally co-dependent person, a lot of ppl who are desperate to date are like that tbh.

I know people will flirt with me as time pass because they always want toys to play with and seek pleasure from it but sorry I will die and not be a part of hookup culture. I will die being celibate my whole life I don't care but my soul and body are pure as I won't share with someone who doesn't value and respect. Being with me and being intimate with me is a privilege. Period!

To Christians who are asexual, side B, or single, I greatly recommend reading 7 Myths about Singleness by Sam Allberry. This is a wonderful dive into what the bible truly says about singleness and how it is a blessing in a world that promotes marriage.
I just began reading it yesterday and already highlighted so many passages in the first chapter alone. One passage really stood out to me. It says that Jesus was God on Earth fully human, and He was celibate. He set the example that sex, romance, and marriage is not what makes us human. This whole passage definitely gave me a change in perspective on this topic.
I'm only one chapter in and 5/5 stars strongly recommend

Happy pride. It’s headcanon time.
Discworld:
Rincewind: Gay, asexual, and in a relationship with Twoflower.
Twoflower: Bisexual.
Ponder Stibbons: gay, but happily celibate.
Havelock Vetinari: aro ace. I’ve seen Ankh Morpork as fairly accepting towards various sexualities, so I don’t think most Discworld characters had a ‘coming out moment,’ but I do definitely think Vetinari at least had an ‘oh’ conversation with someone. Whether it was with his aunt, Sybil, or heck, even Margolotta or Leonard is anyone’s guess.
Dracula:
Arthur, Quincy and Jack are all bisexual. Lucy is questioning, and they’re all in a relationship together.
Sandman:
Lucien/Lucienne: I’ve heard several people headcanon them as somewhere on the asexual spectrum, though personally, I see them as Pan, though again, happily celibate.

cringe in hindsight but still kinda sweet if i'm allowed to think that? talked with a friend that i've known for almost a decade and they brought something up to me. years and years ago back when i was like 14, i didnt have access to an online lgbt community or anything but i found out what celibate meant and for over a year i identified as it with specific conditions and i was so happy. idk. thinking abt how even way before i knew what asexual meant or anything i found a way to verbalize how i felt about sex and a way to feel okay with myself. somehow i'm strangely touched that i've always identified as asexual whether or not i knew it
