Watching the difference between the Twitter migration mentality vs. the Reddit migration mentality is fucking hilarious.
Like, when Twitter users started moving over here everyone was pulling out all the stops and bringing back old fandoms that they were into and basically firing rent lowering shots by being super cringey.
And then all of the sudden when the Reddit refugees start showing up we're like, "ah yes, pull up a log and gather around the dumpster fire. We'll teach you how to not get killed by people hunting down bots and carve out a little area for you guys to relax and get used to the site before we throw you into the deep end of this hellsite that we call home. Tomorrow is Let Papyrus say Fuck day so you can prepare for that if you want. You want some hot coco and a blanket?"
So glad she got away from the dude. And the church coming out to support her instead of just pleading for her to stay because...... "divorce makes Jesus sad" is a pleasant surprise.
the entire internet needs a massive block button. Not just for people, but for specific topics.
I hate that I can't block specific subjects on YouTube, or block individual channels from my search results. I hate that I can't effectively filter out topics on Twitter. Why can't you permanently mute certain subjects on Reddit? Why does Google News grab my face and smash it into a traumatizing news story with no way for me to say "I don't want to block this site, just this hyper-specific issue".
Saying "I'm not interested" isn't enough. I want to eradicate all potentially sensitive, annoying, and angering content from my online experience. Why don't I have that option?
No you guys don’t understand, I went into TMA completely blind with only a faint idea halfway through season 1 that Martin might develop vague feelings for Jon by the end of the series. That was it. I thought it was just going to be just Season 1 format for five seasons. (Puts on creepy clown makeup.)
Then I got to the Season 1 Q&A, and I was astonished by Jonny and Alex’s chemistry. No, really. I watch a lot of sapphic YouTube, and they finished each other’s sentences and laughed at each other’s jokes like long-term wives. They agreed on just about everything—especially for the more complex questions—and their disagreements were playful and adorable.
(I was like, if these two aren’t dating yet, then they should. They should do it for the gays.)
Well, I was completely and utterly wrong. (Jonny is married to Sasha Sienna, Georgie’s VA, and Alex is married to Hannah Brankin, Rosie’s VA. The former is actually quite narratively satisfying.) Both through personal experiences and disappointment in other media, I’ve been so primed to be skeptical of cishet-passing white men who write speculative fiction. And yet, Jonny and Alex turned out to be just two people who genuinely care about representing diverse identities, respecting the audience’s investments in the characters, and leaning into the plot’s natural progression instead of resisting. They’re just wholesome men.
ngl, it kind of reminded me there is still hope in the world.
They are incredible writers, and honestly? You probably should co-write with people that are as compatible with your vibe and wavelength as a romantic or queer-platonic partner would be.
ok has anyone wondered how false and ren got the invite to join mcc. like ik jevin was in mcc1 but the hermit arc truly began in mcc4. and you know how false and ren's whole thing was that they would join together and put down each other's names until mcc17. did scott send invites to both of them. did he send to invites to a bunch of hermits and they had like a discussion on whether to join this mine craft event. were those two in dms like "i'll join if you join" "i'll join if YOU join". did scott send them an email like "hey hermits i've got two slots free choose whoever you like" and false and ren volunteered for tribute. funniest scenario is if scott only sent one of them an email and they were like "i'm only joining with my friend 🥺" and boom [this is not how the waitlist works].
one month later iskallman barges in, roasts all his teammates, gets 17th indiv, then promptly leaves (i miss iskall) (come back iskall) (iskall) (man)
I'm one of those people who was never on tumblr dot com but loved scrolling /r/tumblr, almost exclusively, on reddit.
Now I'm here for real (thanks to reddit imploding) I'm getting so wildly excited to organically come across celebrities like pukicho and gaud, I'm all giddy and star struck
Early on, people were interested in Harry. She had burned a lot of bridges on her climb to supporting actress on a cable series. And people resented that she thought marrying Royalty should automatically put her in line for starring film roles, BUT people were willing to put up with her to get to him, but once they moved to LA and went to a few social events, signed on to these deals and then fucked them up, they stopped getting invitations quickly. Meghan is not just trifling. She is said to be a nasty piece of work. She's always creeping and snooping and leaking shit to the press. She's indiscrete, and people didn't want her around because she was always recording and taking pictures and hitting on wealthy men. And once people learned that Harry is basically her parrot, they stopped giving either of them the time of day. Allegedly. It is highly unlikely that she will ever redeem herself in Hollywood.
Clown makeup fully applied, if hypothetically byler was endgame and there are a few really incriminating scenes of Mike and Will alone in s5 to be had, leading up to that revelation… the skeleton crew filming with Noah and Finn alone for the first couple weeks of filming does sound like something they could do… Otherwise, if they filmed those scenes sporadically all throughout s5 production, random PA’s leaking it would be likely (end of s4 cabin scene leak teas). However, doing a few of their most incriminating scenes alone before most of the casual production are even there: no leaks…
