Flim Flam (it/she) is the second to join the Knock Off Herd.
It claims to hail from Cattaur Valley, though no one there quite seems to remember it when asked. As far as anyone knows, it simply showed up one day - a chaotic clowntaur with unpredictable powers and a penchant for mayhem - and has been pestering Blackberry and the gang ever since. Though it seems to lack a moral compass it is, for the most part, kept in check by its herd, citing Blackberry 7130g and Glitz as the only two taurs it respects.
It often uses a mobility aid: a rollator with and adjustable cushioned seat - able to slide out for use as a rest for its front or back legs - which assists its balance and works to prevent an increase in its chronic pain and fatigue. It claims to have patented this design, though no such legal system exists within Centaurworld.

And that’s Centaurworld Episode 7.
That was an episode just brimming to the seams with the type of vibes this show has, lots of fun animation and referenes, different musical styles with character development (Centaurworld Horse’s design is really cute. I like how her ears resembles a bow)
And the whole of Cattaur Valley was visually interesting, fun, and cute.
I’l also glad Zulius got some spotlight bc he was fun in this episode w/ the style he brought?
“Who Is She?” also just a really great character song for Horse
I was gonna stop there for the night but now I want another episode so.
Back in I go.

They didnt show us Zulius' backstory because we already guessed it.
He was a star in Cattaur Valley and dating Splendib but then Splendib decided he wanted to be the Star and stole Zulis thunder, and Glitter Cats. They broke up and Zulius left Cattaur Valley in a shame filled depression and then he joined The Herd and lived happily ever after.

Hi! I absolutely adore your inevitable war au! Would Zulius still have all his drama with the cattaurs in this au? And if he did, how do you think Elktaur and Woman would handle that? I kind of see Elktaur not really getting all the drama but trying to be supportive of Zulius anyway. Like awkward pep talks and head pats and such.
In this au, Zulius has always dreamed of being in the Be Best Competition but has never been to cat valley before. He was on his way there before they adopted him. The competition is used to entertain humans, and centaurs rarely win it but he wanted to try anyways. His mama and papa are both 120% supportive of his drag queen ambitions. The Princess helps him with makeup, hair, and poise while the elktaur sews his wardrobe (he makes all their clothes— he’s actually a pretty skilled tailor).

Zulius's power 'Hot Goss' is really powerful right? He can freeze time for a couple of minutes and it's painful for everyone. I feel like it might be as powerful as Horse's backstory power... plus he could summon things like Wammawink (but also so could Splendib hmm...). Is it possible that he could've become a shaman? Maybe Johnny Tea Time would've trained him if Zulius didn't leave Cattaur Valley?
On another note, what if the rest of the herd were meant to become shamans but they never did because of the bad hands they were dealt? Just food for thought, I guess.

I swear to god this whole episode is as close to Zulius' backstory as we're gonna get so lets recap, shall we?
-We know he has a history of being cattaur valley and being involved in Johnny Teatime's be best competition
-He said he was going on tour and Splendib ruined it by stealing the glitter cats
-He also (Jokingly?) Made an allusion to batman's backstory in the backstory episode season two-
-Honestly considering how he had some character development from being an attention whore (loving) to letting horse be the main character, he probably grew up in a home where he was under constant pressure to be the best and be the most phenomenal maybe?

Centaurworld spoilers
Ok so I have a ton of questions about the world building in centaurworld. Where do the Minotaurs come from? Who is the nowhere king? How old are the centaurs? How long have the humans been at war? How long were the centaurs at war? Did humans and centaurs ever fight together? Who is the mysterious woman?
The earliest time we technically know about is shown by the Beartaur's mural and the murals in the castle overtaken by the Nowhere King at the end of the season. Here are some notes about that:
-WammaWinks is the last of warrior species of Llamataur right? This is shown by the mural on the Beartaur's wall and by all of his figures.
-Technically we don't know what they were wiped out by but it's assumed that it was the Minotaurs that are attacking Horse's world because she thought she was home when she got transported back in time in "What you need"
-We have a distinct lack of information about the war the humans are currently fighting, although we do know that the Minotaurs just appeared out of nowhere and started killing the humans off.
-we can assume the Minotaurs aren't indiginous to either world since they're called invaders or invading warriors. (Side note: Horse also claims to recognize the Nowhere King's theme song)
So we can assume that centaurs and humans fought the Minotaurs (?) . But for how long?
-Horse says in the first episode that she's known fighting her whole life. That's probably around 8-10 years.
-Rider is either a young adult or an older teenager around 18-22 years old. So it's safe to assume that the war with the humans has been going on for at least 30 years.
-It's unknown for certain if the humans and centaurs fought together or separately but based on the mural we can assume they fought together in ancient history, or at least during a time forgotten.
This brings me to the herd. We never get any sort of age for any of them, so we don't know how old they are. We do know that:
-Wammawinks was alive near the end(?) of the conflict, though she was a child. I'm assuming it was near the end because there's no mention of a war when they all meet up with Waterbaby and we learn that WammaWink was training to be a shaman.
-We also know that Glendale was alive during the war, as they mentions the war during the first episode. Considering the other's reactions to them saying that shows that all of the herd knows about the war too.
-The only time we see a wide variety of centaurs is actually in Centaur Valley, in the bubble made by WammaWink to protect her herd, and when we enter cattaur valley.
-There's honestly not a lot of centaurs populating the world, which leads me to the belief that the war killed a great many centaurs.
-However, no one in the herd seems to recognize what a horse is or what a human is except for WammaWink.
Where am I going with all this? Well, a huge theme in the show is hiding away from, repressing, and masking trauma and true feelings. This theme is repeated in almost every episode.
You may have noticed that I haven't really mentioned the mysterious woman or the nightmare king. They clearly have a history together and they, along with Waterbaby, seem to be the only ones who actually know the past of the worlds. The mysterious woman is the only human we see capable of performing magic, and she's clearly older, probably in her 50's.
The nightmare king is welcomed by the Minotaurs as if he was known to them, probably he was a former leader. Considering he formerly knew the woman, perhaps he was once a centaur or human that was consumed by dark magic?
I think a long, long time ago the centaurs and humans must have had a great war between the Minotaurs, and trapped them in the In-Between place. Time went on and both sides forgot about the war, but the key pieces and the temple remained. This is where things get a little iffy. Something happened that released the Minotaurs into centaurworld, where they were fought back once again. My guess is the mysterious woman was stuck in centaurworld or something and she went to make a deal with the nowhere king, and opened both sides of the portal. The Minotaurs fled through to the human world, but the woman realized her mistake and trapped the nowhere king in the In-Between before fleeing back to centaurworld. So now the humans had to deal with the Minotaurs and the centaurs remained trapped in forced bliss until horse was transported through.
There are still so many un-answered questions but this is my theory for now!

I know this is a silly slang but I like to imagine that Cataur Valley Child Zulius just. Identifies himself as a cat. Not a Cattaur- just a cat.

Sunny Daze (he/they) is the third member to enter, as well as the heart of the herd.
As a child growing up in Cattaur Valley, Sunny Daze witnessed the Be Best Competition come into existence, watched their older friends and family compete, and dreamt of the day when they could finally do the same; but when their opportunity came, they fell flat. Time after time they were looked over, and the more it happened the more their desire for attention - and acceptance - grew.
With the war ending and Centaurworld's landscape rapidly changing, Sunny Daze finally chose to leave Cattaur Valley. Unfulfilled for never having won and all the lonelier from feeling so out of place in the new world, he immediately latched onto the Knockoff Herd upon meeting them. Even when it was just him, Flim Flam, and Blackberry, he could feel that their odd little group would grow to a place free of judgement and full of acceptance.
His emotional state is both affected by, and sometimes seems to affect, the weather within the surrounding region of Centaurworld.

One of my favorite things is that each magic the Herd does correlates to their core personalities and potential experiences. They may see silly but it runs deeper than the surface
oh absolutely, their magic is very much all their own, and im actually drawing something on that subject right as I type this (draws with toes like wammawink /j)
but youre right, i mean, durpleton has his spots turn into food/pies (favorite food?), zulius has shapely mane, calling back to his time in cattaur valley, glendale is the only one that has portal tummy, and cheds handsome for 8 seconds, though we see water baby use it later, suggests that he feels like he is somehow lacking, maybe because of his own daddy/mommy issues

@sliding-into-space sent:  Slider's eyes are wide and he looks excited.... And strangely out of breath like he ran here? "I heard.. you know... where there's an ENTIRE valley of cats?" He tried to lean on a tree to catch his breath sporting an delighted grin on his face.
Tumblr media
Horse looked at him concerned for a moment, though his only issue seemed to be being out of breath. “Y-yes! The cattaurs live in cat valley, mostly being dramatic and singing about how they’ll win the sash in the be best competition.”
“By the way, I’m horse. Your local new shaman and ambassador between both worlds.” She held out her hoof to shake.
