Introducing the latest dinosaur in Rebor’s museum-class replica line: the Female Diplodocus carnegii! Nicknamed “Catch the Rainbow,” this 1:35 scale figure measures almost 3 feet long and includes an articulated neck and tail. It’s clear that a high attention to detail was paid here to capture the essence of this once majestic creature.
Diplodocus fossils were first discovered in 1877 and get their name from the Greek “diplos” (double) and “dokos” (beam) in reference to the unique double-beamed chevron bones located in the underside of the tail. Its pencil-like teeth were only in the front of the jaws and were used to strip leaves off of low-growing plants. It could get up to 92 feet in length and traveled in small herds and, for many years, was the longest dinosaur known. 🦕
