'Tis the season, there's Nutcracker everywhere on my social media, so here I am

I present you Kasandra and Mefistofeliks (aka Warsaw Cass and Misto) as the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Prince/Cavalier

I used this clip as my reference, and decided to keep the costumes purple cuz I thought they would pair up nicely with their black and white colour scheme

I tried a different shape for Feliks' hair, little closer to a wig I saw in a few rehearsal photos and I do actually like it

Plus I tried to make it look like Cass is wearing white somewhat see-through tights. A bit of a compromise if you will, cuz keeping them black made it look like one big blob, and white just looked like I forgot to colour them in XD

Do you have any thoughts on cassoffelees?

Ooo, Cassoffelees is a good one and ngl it was very hinted at in the production I saw in 2022. While I have a hard time seeing those two being romantic with each other I definitely understand people that do. And I do love the added choreography during the broadway revivals mr mistoffelees, especially the chest pump thing that they do.

Idk, I think a more aloof Mistoffelees than the one I have in my mind would work wonderfully with Cassandra.

I absolutely love the way you write Mistoffelees as a demon! I was wondering if you have any specific thoughts about demon!Misto and Cassandra?

Thank you! I'm happy to hear - I feel as though considering his name is Mistoffelees, it's quite literally a hop skip and a jump to Mephistopheles. Seems only a logical progression.

Cassandra greets Mistoffelees in the same way she greets most cats - with a flippant curiosity that just barely makes her head turn towards the stimuli, but you can be assured she's read you to the ground in those split seconds. Her read on the recently solidified Mistoffelees is "Strange, but ultimately uninteresting" (Which he takes *great* offense to when he hears it echoing in his ears across the clearing), which is Cassandra's way of indicating that she'll keep an eye on him.

Mistoffelees looks at her from beneath his lashes, up and down, and recognizes her from a millennia or so back. "You were a cat of a Great Wife," he says, rather cryptically, from above her head one day, to which Cassandra, disguising her surprise remarkably well, coolly responds: "Yes - I was there, after all." And though affronted at the unusually calm and unbothered response, Mistoffelees chuckles, touches his paws back to the ground, and asked how she found the climate.

They keep in quiet company after that thread of tension - never to seek one another out, but never against the idea of when they happened in the same area. They pick at each other, Mistoffelees playfully cursing: "To the void with you" when she steps outside her bounds with him (and technically he has that ability to do so, so how thinly veiled that threat actually is is debatable). Cassandra fears very little, though, and one way to earn Mistoffelees respect is to face any and all threat with ones eyes open. She's never blinked in the face of danger - surely why she sat so primly on the thrones of pharaohs, Mistoffelees thinks from time to time.

Mistoffelees enjoys speaking with Cassandra because, with a little coaxing (sometimes in the manner of sharing a thought or two), she remembers grand balls and parties and bits and pieces of gossip from hundreds of years ago, and Misto does so miss being able to keep tabs on all of those little pieces. Though she has not been truly magical in years, Cassandra is highly susceptible to it, making her an excellent vessel...should she give the permission (Mistoffelees is a master of persuasion, but even the mighty wind that is Misto's silver tongue cannot make the mountains of Cassandra's willpower bend to it should she not want it.

Mistoffelees also holds Cassandra in a very high regard as a dance partner - which is (in his opinion, anyway) something that speaks volumes of her. I just keep thinking of this pas de deux from Mayerling:

Dahlia ; Do they keep secrets from each other?

Teazer has the habit of keeping secrets, much like Mungo. It's more stuff she isn't ready to or doesn't want to open up about.

Teazer is a bit of a bad liar, especially when Victoria is being stern with her so more often there isn't a lot of hiding things from each other going on.

As for Victoria she’s practically an open book, most of the time atleast. She only keeps secrets if others ask her to, and since she’s very loyal about keeping trust she won’t rat anything out to Teazer.

Peony ; Which one is the most impulsive?

Teazer.

Rump is fairly hyperactive enough that she can get impulsive and sometimes her “do what you want and just go with it” mindset does influence Victoria.

Of course, Vicky would never be willing to go on a full heist but she is up for a few pranks and maybe a bit of cheeky fun with Teazer if they don’t hurt anyone or get caught.

I started thinking of the scene from Smurfs 2 in the candy shop and how that’s basically 2019 M&R song

Orchid ; Who's the big spoon and who's the little spoon?

OMG OMG

Victoria big spoons out of preference and cause Teazer loves getting engulfed in her girlfriend’s fluff.

But occasionally they’ll switch up for funzies or depending on circumstances.

It’s not exactly an agreed-on thing, it just sort of happens.

Snowdrop ; How long have they been together?

Hmmmm I generally do a couple years after the events of the show for my hcs about them so probably two - three years i’d imagine

Tulip ; Which one gives the most gifts? Do they know the other well enough to give them something they'd like?

Mistoffelees has the general advantage of being able to conjure things, he normally makes things Cassandra mentioned she liked / wanted. New collar, flowers, pillows etc. But even If Cassandra doesn’t mention a particular item he knows her well enough to get something she finds useful or likes.

However Cassandra isn’t one to be outdone, when it comes to hunting Misto tends to leave it to her (due to her own insistence and having far more opportunities and luck with it when on patrol) since Misto generally loves a good meal like his father Bustopher. So sometimes Cassandra will go out of her way to get him something special or new he hasn’t tried before. They have little at-home (or den) dinner dates.

Daisy ; Which one sings while doing chores? Are they good at it?

Hmmm, Misto whistles most of the time but he does sing few and far between.

Cassandra will and without a care, she has a genuinely beautiful voice and Mistoffelees loves hearing it. She normally sings simple tunes though.

Poppy ; How much do they trust each other?

Cassandra trusts Misto a lot. A lot a lot.

(mini rant I'm sorry)

But my little headcanon was that Mistoffelees was always going to choose Cassandra as his assistant. In short term, she was in on it with Tugger and Mistoffelees.

Cassandra is a protective person and I think there was a big “What if Misto messes up” fear going around both of their heads during the whole get-back plan. But instead of being doubtful, she does choose to trust Misto, (I think productions where they include cass running away is just her own anxieties getting the better of her) but she still manages to put that aside and trust Misto by getting into the pipe. And it works!

I think from then on she never really does doubt his magic. More importantly, him.

As for Mistoffelees, he sort of always had a big amount of trust in Cassandra. Why wouldn’t he? She’s reliable and for him very approachable. They’re close and trust eachother alot.

Rewatched the first Victoria solo in Warsaw and I noticed bunch of stuff that could be argued supports my "Misto and Cass are on-and-off couple and Victoria is their daughter" headcanon

Mostly that Cass is one of the cats that stays close to Vicky on stage, kinda reaches out to her when she moves towards Etcetera, and also she is the one to catch the star that Vicky picks from the sky and later throws

Then Misto appears behind them and because of the shadows I can't really tell what he's initially doing (besides moving his arms around a lot which in his case very well may be some magic), but then when he gets slightly closer he definitely seems to be magically controlling Cass (it could be that he's just kinda mirroring her moves, but later in the show he does magically make other cats both dance and follow his moves several times so)

In the bit right before he starts the Invitation, Cass is very much seeing smth in him (she looks at him like that in "Mr. M" too)

And then as he sings it, the 3 of them do very similar dance moves, although in different order, but it's only the 3 of them, other cats visible in the shot either don't dance or do it in a different style

And then it ends with Cass reaching up to him and getting what appears to be headpats, but not before looking slightly surprised/annoyed he didn't do it immediately (Fraszka nuzzling his leg got his attention first)

And then the camera pans way up to Munk and I wish I knew if they had any more interactions in the meantime. Only thing more is that after Munk's done, it looks like Cass possibly maybe boops Victoria's nose or smth? Really hard to tell but she def reaches out to her

LF: Fanfiction Recommendations!

I know I’ve made this post before, but Tumblr ate it, so I’m making it again (with some changes!!!). I’m looking for CATS fanfic recommendations. Although I am not focusing on any particular character, pairing, or themes, I would prefer:

Works with Bombalurina, Demeter, Jemima, Tugger, or Victoria as the main character. (Or...literally any of the Queens?)

Works focusing on Alondra, Asparalorum, Cassoffelees, Demecavity, Demestrap, Jemistoffelees, Jemival, Mistoria, Platoria, Tuggerina, Tuggoffelees, and Tumbletoria, just to name a few.
