Aperture Tag Liveplay + Analysis (Part 10)

ALRIGHT CHAPTER 4 HERE WE GOOOOOO

You know those days where you’re like “This might as well happen? Aperture Laboratories is already so goddamn weird.”

I already talked about this bit in the ALSSER part so I won’t go into too much detail. But now test chambers are going to look more like this instead of the boring ones we had before.

Yay we survived! But we still have to do more testing.

There’s an “authorized personnel” door on the right that you can go into. If you do, Nigel says this:

:(. Also the fact that he’s telling us that it was part of testing protocol is probably against the rules? And he doesn’t actually mean it when he says that we are an “average, unimportant test subject.” He’s most likely quoting the testing protocol. Just because 18 completed the test doesn’t mean that she’s authorized to go wherever she wants. But when has that ever stopped anyone? Nigel doesn’t actually think of us this way at all. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Even if we don’t go into the Authorized Personnel room, he still says this:

“da best of da best” :’)

THERE HE IS!!!!!! THERE HE IS HE’S ACTUALLY HERE IN PERSON NOW HE’S HERE HE HH DHS KGSFN HJD

Now Nigel is allowed to do Big Boy Testing! GLaDOS has taken enough of an interest in Nigel after his test subject was able to survive the ALSSER shutdown sequence that she’s allowing him to continue the Paint Gun testing, and even giving him better resources and more freedom with the test chambers. This is what our testing environment looks like now.

Expanding on more complicated concepts we only learned a little bit about in previous test chambers!

.....Deadly crushers! (I don’t think that Nigel has total control over the test chambers, there are some elements of the test that he isn’t allowed to change. If he had any say in it, I don’t think the crusher would be there at all. He actually values the life of his test subject quite a bit.)

And then he says this when we complete the test. The delivery of this line is oddly robotic (well he is literally a robot but..... you know what I mean.) A lot of his other voice lines from now on, especially at the end of the tests, seem to resemble things that the Announcer or GLaDOS might say. It seems very much like he is reading off of a script.

ANYWAY SORRY THIS PART TURNED OUT A BIT LONGER THAN I MEANT IT TO BUT THIS LAST CHAPTER IS GONNA BE A LOT OF FUN THANKS FOR READING
