Calaverita a mi abuelita

Chepita en el más allá, con chispa en la mirada,

Dijo a los esqueletos: "¡Amigos, no me hagan la tumba mojada!"

En el baile de calacas, se robó el espectáculo,

Con su esqueleto danzante, ¡se veía muy chula!

Pidió tacos de cráneo y refrescos de alma en pena,

Y le dijo a la Catrina: "No te pases de buena."

La Catrina se rió y le dijo: "Eres muy pícara,

¡Vas a hacer que la parca se muera de risa, ja, ja, ja!"

En el Día de los Muertos, Chepita es la reina,

De las bromas y chistes, no hay quien la frene.

En el reino de ultratumba, su humor brilla más,

Y a todos los difuntos, les saca una carcajada, ¡Amor y paz!

Con su risa espeluznante y ocurrencias mil,

Hace que hasta los esqueletos rían sin fin.

En el panteón eterno, la fiesta no tiene final,

Porque Chepita en el más allá, es la reina del carnaval.

Así que recordemos a Chepita con alegría,

En el Día de los Muertos, en esta melodía.

Su espíritu alegre en el más allá persiste,

Y en nuestras vidas, su recuerdo y amor siempre existe.

Calaverita a Mario Benedetti

En la tumba de Benedetti, un lugar sin igual, Don Mario descansa con su estilo genial.

Con su humor inigualable y su prosa tan fina, seguro que en el más allá, la comedia domina.

Las nubes se ríen, los ángeles sonrientes, Benedetti les cuenta cuentos tan excelentes.San Pedro se asombra, no puede evitar reír, "¡Mario, bienvenido al cielo!", le dice al verlo venir.

En el paraíso, organiza tertulias poéticas, con rimas y chistes, todas sus métricas. Y los arcángeles, se convierten en fans, de sus ocurrencias y sus juegos verbales sin afán.

Así que en su tumba, no hay tristeza ni llanto, solo recordamos su humor, poemas y encanto. Benedetti, el comediante-poeta de la eternidad, en el cielo o en la tierra, su risa es realidad.

Day of the dead is a celebration and remembrance of those who have passed away, its the day where the dead come back to be with their families, depending on the state this celebration might last the entire first week of november

the origin of catrinas is interesting, the original skatch was made by José Guadalupe Posada in 1912 as a satire of people who would act high class like european royalty, trying to abandon the culture they came from while still being just as screwed (a literal skeleton trying to look fancy). i nthe century that has passed its become an icon of mexico and day of the death as its figure fit very well with the aesthetic and style of the celebration changing its meaning entirely

Tzonpantlis where structures made with or representing rows of human skulls as an offering to the gods, they where also used to scare other populations away from trying to invade or attack serving as protection as well. its believed they might have had some influence in how ofrendas are organized now a days and the general idea of sugar skulls and decorated skull structures, its not uncommon to see people recreating tzompantlis with cardboard or foam skulls.

Damn, mother, I didn't have time to do something more elaborate because of work, but at least I can share with you a candy skull that is used to decorate the altar of the dead.

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make even a drawing of this tradition.....here in Mexico we honor our dead by visiting cemeteries and preparing altars in each home. The souls of our loved ones return during these days to be close to their loved ones.

knowing that you have a day to see your loved ones feels.... strange and great even if it's just one day you know they will be there

Dani Lu en el más allá, con un chiste en la mirada, dijo a la parca: "¿Trajiste un libro de chistes, camarada?" En el baile de esqueletos, era la reina del mambo, hasta convenció a la muerte a bailar un tango, ¡qué bamboleo!

Pidió enchiladas de fuego y un té de infusión etérea, y a los fantasmas les dijo: "¡Hagamos una fiesta, una borrachera!" La Catrina se unió y le dijo: "Eres la reina del humor, haces reír hasta a los espíritus, ¡es tu súper poder!" ¡Ja, ja, ja!

En el Día de los Muertos, Dani Lu es furor y emoción, con su comedia divina, causa sensación. En el más allá, su risa resuena como un eco, y a los seres del inframundo, los tiene en jaque mate, ¡te lo reco! ¡Jaque mate, hasta en la muerte!

Con su humor espontáneo, hace carcajear hasta al más serio, ¿cómo lo logra? en la tierra de los esqueletos, es un auténtico misterio.

Un día hizo reír a un fantasma, ¡y se le cayeron los huesos! Desde entonces, la llaman "La Risitas", ¡la convirtió en un "eso"!

Así que en esta festividad, con risas en el aire, celebramos a Dani Lu, la calavera más hilarante, ¡qué desmadre!

Con su carcajada contagiosa y sus ocurrencias locas, nos recuerda que en la vida y la muerte, el humor siempre toca.
