having some vague thoughts about how, aside from genuine malice, a sort of trust by proxy factors into the misinformation and spread of nasty narratives when it comes to fandom-adjacent spaces specifically
like when you see a post on some issue you know little about and are inclined to trust it from the get-go because it's on tumblr, the fun queer website, the website you learned baby's first feminism from, so it's gotta be true right?
or you see a tweet and instantly want to side with op because they have a genshin boy or some other kind of Blorbo Character as their avatar so you surmise they're into fandom stuff, which means they're probably queer and progressive, which means they probably share your values and goals and what they say must be true and in good faith, right?
