kinda thinking about the relevance of the villains’ crimes and how widely they were broadcasted after Sly put an end to them. like, creating an army of the undead must’ve at least been global news, come on. i doubt the ones that took place in like very secluded areas would become news like Clockwerk, Neyla, Mask of Dark Earth, but like Don Octavio blowing up Venice or the Black Baron reveal would 100% be front-page news everywhere. that’s the difference between the villains in the final game and the rest: the Sly 1 and 2 baddies were underlings with side-hustles, which like could be dealt with very privately, like no one would even care if Bison got his ass handed to him in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere. but in Sly 3 the villains were just straight-up pulling off crimes in public like so you literally don’t give a fuck ?

if the games took place today, people would defo go fucking nuts over the Contessa. like you wouldn’t be able to escape tiktoks about her and her backstory, and then Netflix would make a true crime docuseries about her and how she might’ve murdered her husband (titled Spider King or whatever never watched that shit).
