I realize that I am not helping the Jiang Cheng fandom bicylce situation but whatever.
So, the premise is this Shen Jiu respawns and since he's unhappy about his place in Cang Qiong Mountain Sect with the better liked impostor and the smug demon lord etc. He strikes out on his own and ends up in Lotus Pier where he works as JIang Cheng's second in command. Jiang Cheng unlike Shen Jiu's hypocritical former sect sibling does not tolerate abuse and does not throw a snit because a guy is ruthless and likes to sleep in brothels. (This could be the romance but it isn't because Qijiu rights.) Yue Qingyuan rolls up to Yunmeng Jiang Sect and after some drama, misunderstandings, and enough pining to make even seasoned veterans of the legendary XuanLi courtship roll their eyes, Qijiu get their shit together and get together. Yay, celebrations!! Jiang Cheng cries with both eyes, one is happy for his loyal SIC, the other is unhappy because once again someone dear to him is leaving him. Except Shen Jiu is like, no way, am I quitting, I'm not going back to Cang Qiong, they frown at murder, they don't like my cutting remarks! Jiang Cheng tries to gauge how Yue Qingyuan feels about that. Yue Qingyuan, on cloud nine, no problem, Shen-shidi can lead the sect while I visit. (this could lead to Qijiucheng but not right now as I am still getting to the point)
During the events of MDZS, Shen Jiu is vacationing at CQMS (aka smugly feeding YQY treats while his former sect siblings pretend they are unaware that the two of them are an item.)
So, MDZS ends. Jin Ling becomes Jin sect leader and his reign is stabilized with support from jiujiu and occasionally helpful advice from WWX.
And then some person decides SL Jiang has gotten too powerful let's knock him down a peg. They threaten to expose the core transfer. Jiang Cheng kills that person but the whole thing gets him thinking. He's not really ok with the whole transfer but what can he do it's not like he knows an immortal master...oh wait he does.
He writes a letter to Yue Qingyuan and Shen Jiu: Hey for no particular reason. Have you heard of a way to transplant a golden core from one person to another? Maybe you know a doctor who would agree to do it without the other person knowing?
YQY and SJ: WTF, my man?
It takes Qijiu all of five minutes to find out, why.
SJ runs back to YJS: No, you stupid idiot, you can't do it!!!
JC: My mind is made up. I will do it with or without you
YQY, after hearing the whole story: Hmm. I see your point. If you have carefully considered it. (Shen Jiu shoots daggers from his eyes.)
YQY: Anyways, have you met Tianlang-jun, my Shen-shidi's father in law. He's a scholar of the demonic arts and can definitely help you out.

🔥 wei wuxian and rgu (in general)!
- wei wuxian: my beloved! ok first of all unpopular opinions r so easy with the untamed bc so much of the fanbase opinions r so fucking stupid lol but. he is canonically a genius. hes so smart!!!! and so deeply compassionate . he has a lot in common with flint black sails specifically s3-4 flint after he has met the maroons like he cares about people outside of the framework of the entire cultivator world he was raised in, which puts value on wealth and power and birth. and i really despise the characterization of him as like . totally oblivious bc even emotionally hes very aware of how his actions affect others. i feel like ppl tend to be either critical of him in a way that makes no sense (like saying he was selfish and uncaring for saving the wens in literally the only way he could) OR they claim to love him without rlly understanding where he is coming from. like there is a strong tendency to mistake his devotion for a lack of self esteem. which is crazy bc it's like yeah wwx is depressed as hell and doesn't value his own life but it's not because he thinks he's unlovable it's bc he has been brought up as a semi-servant in his own home taught that the only valid expression of his love for his siblings is servitude which of course translates to sacrifice. and then his character is just treated as a punching bag/projection board especially for white people who treat being lgbt and mentally ill as personality traits. ALSO u know i love lwj but lwj and wei wuxian's romantic relationship is EXTREMELY secondary to the themes of hierarchy, narrative, and power, and to his relationship with his siblings and the wen siblings. (in the show to be clear. all other forms r dead to me)
-rgu: hmm idk if this is unpopular but i hate hate hate seeing people engage w it on a surface level where it's like. ooh sword lesbians theyre in love when it's like . well first of all utena is about breaking free of cycles of abuse and exploitation and imagining a future outside of those totalizing narratives. and the whole point of the show is that utena CANNOT and should not be anthy's prince bc those roles and the power they carry cannot coexist with genuine love. when james baldwin said I use the word ‘love’ here not merely in the personal sense but as a state of being, or a state of grace—not in the infantile American sense of being made happy but in the tough and universal sense of quest and daring and growth, and when ursula k leguin said love doesnt just sit there like a stone it has to be made like bread remade all the time made new! in a lot of ways rgu is a direct rejection of romance and the idea of like true destined love that permeates so much of our ideas about relationships

Hmm, question time! Are there headcanons for characters you’re partial to? I’m a fan of autistic LWJ and ADHD WWX. I assume all modern AU WWXs are caffeine addicts self-medicating his ADHD. I also assume he never bothered to get diagnosed… Oh! I like nielian. I am a fan of jin ling/lan jingyi. I think there’s a lot of gremlin potential… once they both grow up a bit. Oyzz is funny but I don’t ship him. And I don’t ship lsz with people either… Oh! songxiao is so good! I love songxiao! But xue yang doesn’t have a place in there. I want JC to be happy so sangcheng and xicheng are both ok depending on context. I wouldn’t be opposed to pairing him up with other but those are the most common. I also love Aro/Ace JC headcanons. Yes, my Wuji is very unruly and a menace but in the best way. One minute I’ll be mad at him because he’s clawing his way up my curtains and the next I’ll be going awww because he just purrs almost every time I hold him! And he’s a smart gremlin! he’s figured out how to open one of the doors, so whenever we put him in that room, he’s able to open it and come back on his own.
Hmm, your clue doesn’t narrow it down much!! There’s soo many people who have made gifs for mdzsnet events: both members and non-members! But I’m gonna keep an eye out now!
I agree with songxiao but no xue yang! Poor songxiao deserved so much better and thinking about them is just soooo painful! I’m cool with aro/ace JC, or paired up with Wen Qing/NHS/Xichen (just let JC be happy whichever way it goes!) although I don’t search out fics with any of these pairings. I’m fine with this if it’s part of a fic I’m already reading though.
Now, on to my headcanons:
1) Yes, definitely autistic LWJ and ADHD WWX.
2) In canon, since wwx’s core was transferred and not crushed, he can cultivate a core again post-canon and live happily ever after with LWJ.
3) WWX comes back in his own body and appearance (although this is more an extreme preference for xz!wwx and deep discomfort for mxy-body!wwx than a headcanon)
4) Wen Qing survived and post-canon reunites with wen ning and a-yuan.
5) LWJ likes being chief cultivator and wwx likes being able to call Cloud Recesses with LWJ his home. Especially since the poor guy has either lost his previous homes or not been able to have a steady place to call home in the past, I think he’d really love having the sense of security that he can return to CR and lwj even if he goes out to travel for a while.
6) wwx and lwj are not really *oblivious*, they know/realise at some point in canon (- I once thought of you as my soulmate - I still am!!!!!) that there’s something there but they just haven’t had the chance to talk about it or act on it with the war and then hiding and death and all the chaos during canon.

I think my favourite Doctor/companion duo would have to be Ten and Rose cause I shipped them so much back then and their ending.... gosh I still get emo thinking abt it now!! “I’m burning up a sun just to say goodbye” BIIIIITCH!!!!! 😭😭 so yeah... I also really loved Eleven and Clara bc once again: shipped it! But Donna was also such a good companion!!! I love how with each doctor/companion combo there were new dynamics to explore! (I gotta say though, I never really liked River... oop 😂)
Ok, I just did some googling and I found the first ep of tgcf on bilibili’s youtube channel. As far as I have understood it, you have to pay for early access to the episodes but if you wait they become free at some point (if anyone knows better pls correct me on this) so I think we can actually watch it!! And New Legends of Monkey sounds awesome!! I love these types of stories!! Def gonna check it out and report back to you!

I do celebrate Christmas with my family though none of us are overly religious about it. My favourite part would have to be the music! Like Michael Bublé’s Christmas album and All I Want For Christmas Is You are absolute musts (as well as my grandma’s old german christmas songs CD which has songs from Heino on it 😂). I do however also really love the feeling of when you know you have found the perfect gift for a loved one and are so excited for them to unwrap it! Nothing beats that! And thank you so much! Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.
ahahaha... oh you’re going to get me into trouble. -.-;;; First of all, I’m not sure I can say that I’ve properly abandoned it, because I do still write for it and I do still love it and I do even reblog things for it, but at this point... Les Mis. And WOW that’s hard to say.
Part of it is that just... too many of my Les Mis friends have drifted away to other things. And when fewer and fewer people are posting for a fandom, it gets harder and harder to sustain an active fannish interest. And that was a lot of my issue. Part is that just... a lot of the currently prevalent headcanons and interpretations were just... not things I was interested in? Like, more and more, I felt like I was talking an entirely different language to the rest of the fandom and it was getting very frustrating. And finally... people were getting worse and worse about reblogging or commenting on things and that just sapped my desire to create anything new for the fandom. And some of that was probably also due to the other two things, but some of it is just a trend.
Compare that to my currently largest fandom of interest... I posted a gifset+meta for Guardian fandom and it got like 100 notes within a couple of days and sparked off a huge and AMAZING debate about magical healing jackets that I STILL have to respond to pieces of, because it’s such a small fandom in comparison that any new content is appreciated and it was so warm and welcoming that, I stg, I almost cried. Like... fandom hasn’t made me feel that good in a while, and I’ve MISSED IT. (I had a similar experience when I got into TUD fandom on a larger (albeit slightly less personalized) scale.)
So, yeah. Have I really abandoned Les Mis? Probably not. If nothing else, I AM going to fucking finish Muet, damn it. And I’m still going to run Feuilly Week in October. But yeah. I don’t think I’ll be as intense as I was about it before, and that still makes me sad. :( I mean... Les Mis was the longest fandom stop I’ve had in a while. 8 years? And I made a lot of friends there. So, I don’t think I’ll ever completely give it up, but I definitely need a break.

OK, let’s start with Guardian...
Shen Wei: I am a sucker, a complete and total sucker, for the immortal(ish) character with the weight of the world on their shoulders, who insists on throwing their own health and mental wellbeing under the bus at any and every given opportunity if it will protect the people they love, BONUS POINTS if they are somehow also just a little naive and don’t quite know how to people or how to friends, because they’ve been alone for so long. ALSO, the “I appear totally shy and harmless and probably wear sweater vests and sleeve garters, but secretly am A TOTAL FUCKING BADASS” thing never, ever gets tiring. ;D And just... FUCK. There is not a SINGLE favorite character box that Shen Wei doesn’t check for me. ...also, he’s very pretty when he breaks. *eg* ^_~

That’s a hard toss up between Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian. XD But a lot of the things that draw me to She Wei also draw me to WWX, so I’ll just say “Ditto” on that and do Jiang Cheng. ;D
Jiang Cheng: (Cribbing a bit from another answer...) He is the aro/ace disaster bb of my heart and he just wants his family to be HAPPY and TOGETHER and have ALL THE THINGS THEY WANT but also for them to be safe and to not leave him. And I relate SO HARD to that. I also relate to the fact that no matter what he says, it seems to come out wrong and just get him into further trouble. Because that is also one giant fucking mood. But seriously, he just loves his family SO MUCH and he tries SO HARD and life just keeps kicking him when he’s down, but he STILL TRIES TO BE THERE for the few loved ones he has left and I just... fuck I just love him so fucking much and HE DESERVED BETTER. TT^TT

I feel like a lot of the reasons I like a character boil down to “they’re pretty when they cry... and canon makes them cry a LOT.” XD But more importantly than the fact that canon does the best to break them... they keep GETTING BACK UP. They keep putting a smile on their face, even if sometimes it’s forced, and they KEEP GOING. And just... FUCK I am weak for that. And Obi-Wan is the epitome of that particular trope and I love him for it. TT^TT

how does introducing fmx to the others go?
AHHH HEHEE OK hmm fmx would meet wwx (and lwj by default) first.. wwx is friendly enough and maybe a little suspicious bcuz who wld be willing to travel around w the ghost general, even if they did manage to find out hes a sweetheart... lwj has the same feelings for fmx as he does w wn.. indifference i guess..... when they all meet tho fmx still doesnt know who wn really is and wwx is like ??? when fmx calls wn ‘qionglin’ (bcuz his courtesy name is as dead as he is) but wn tells him fmx is blind as a bat and wwx is like oh lol that explains it
fmx meets the juniors when theyre a ways out for a nighthunt and they meet passing thru a town.. it goes well and everyone is friendly ofc.. lsz is happy his uncle has another friend other than wwx and after they get together lsz starts calling fmx uncle too :’].. the cloud recess juniors start seeing him around a lot more as well so everyone begins to call him senior fu
maybe a long time later after they get together, fmx has the chance to meet jiang cheng (idk maybe jcs visiting the cloud recesses and runs into wn and fmx who r visintng wwx) and his only reaction is like ew ok :/ bc he doesnt rlly care abt wen ning and hes homophobic
UM idk who else he wld meet but it wld be a friendly meeting nonetheless..! ALSO ive decided the change up his personality a bit so hes a lot less like zenitsu and more rengoku... i love that punchy friendly attitude that guy has hehe

@/bbylaozu & @/hanguangjunjun - more adorable art about baby wwx and the twin jades! so cute it melts my heart and I love how they interact together ;; neither has been that active lately but there’s a lot of art and aaaahh especially the twin jades “stories” are so nice ;;
@/gusutwinjades or @/nikud0ns - I love their character designs for everyone so much and they have such healing concepts and nice events and I just. I love emm’s art? it’s so cute and soft but also very elegant and emotional! such a blessing tbh
@/Balthazar_R or @darkandstormyart - I absolutely adore their character designs too and their art style in general ;; they have such nice ideas (all the aus!! damn) and the humor is great and I can feel so much love in every piece :’)
@soursoppi (the same on twt) - more cute characters! absolutely adorable! I want to squish everyone together and just hug them to my chest ;; I especially love tiger!jc and dragon!lxc being the absolute softest :’) and then jiujiu with his baby nephew!
@/yuzhouu - aahh lynn does amazing art! their coloring is so nice and I love their versions of all the characters :’) they make a lot of xicheng pieces (and have been doing art for the fic I recommended you, Upon Our Silver Bridge!) and I think they also have some comics which are super cool :o (sorry my memory is horrible here jdhfkjd)
