One might ask what it was about Lovecraft's fiction that appealed so much to the youth and intellectual set of the late 60s - mid 70s. Lovecraft was very much a person rooted firmly in a long tradition of elitist, Anglo-American culture. The language he used and the prejudices he demonstrated in his words were born out of the understanding that the British Empire had achieved its world-wide dominance for a reason. In Lovecraft's time England/ Britain still had powerful influence throughout the globe. Though it had failed to secure its control of the U. S. as a colony it still maintained considerable influence in Australia, Canada, India, and parts of Africa at the very least. World War ll did not occur until after Lovecraft's death in 1937. Following that monstrous disaster Great Britain would never be the same. Again, as to Lovecraft and the New Age crowd: As it was true among the 'Hippies, Freaks, Beatniks, etc, there were in many cases protagonists in Lovecraft's fiction who were forced with having to question the very fundamental definition of what was 'real'. This dilemma of having to question all that they had ever believed to be 'reality' was often a first time experience for them. (The dreamer and mystic Randolph Carter being a noted exception).
I recently re-read Henry Miller's sequel to Tropic of Cancer -The Tropic of Capricorn. Miller was a favorite of the 'smart set' of the rebellious 60s too. From the beginning of Miller's novel one is treated to his protagonist's dissatisfaction and disgust with his own cultural origins. That was something almost never seen in Lovecraft. Miller, an admitted dabbler in excesses of drugs and alcohol, often took the reader along some pretty surrealistic adventures of the mind. Lovecraft does this too, but his characters never - or nearly never - face this horror intentionally or willingly. When Lovecraft's characters are exposed to supernatural horrors - cosmic horrors that challenge the very base human perception of reality itself - the shock, dislocation, and existential threat of 'a false reality' is terrifying at a visceral level. As an additional point of similar viewpoints between HPL and the 60s crowd, Lovecraft was very much dismissive of traditional Christianity. To the 'anti- establishment' rebels Christianity was a powerful and corrupted aspect of their parent's hypocrisy and obsession with material gain. Christianity was challenged by a sudden Western facination with Eastern Mystisim. Jack Kerouac and the 'Beats' had made some efforts to introduce Eastern thought to the West in the 1950s. The Beatles were even more influential with their visits to adepts in India a decade later. 'Jesus Freaks' were rare among the Hippies, but many claimed to be 'spiritual'. Interest in witchcraft, the Occult, Theosophy, esoteric Buddhism, Native American spirit magic, and even Satanism, in rare cases challenged the organized religious beliefs the New Age crowd were brought up with. Lovecraft himself was particularly anti-Christian since childhood. He was allowed to discontinue Sunday School because of his disruptive views and made altars to the Olympians of Greece and Rome at age 6. By the time he was 8 HPL received his first telescope. After searching the surface of the moon and the night sky for any evidence of gods of Ancient Rome Lovecraft became essentially an atheist. There was some idea that these deities had escaped to the stars after they were abandoned by their worshippers on earth. Nonetheless Lovecraft maintained a belief till the day he died that the Classical World should be the model for all human aspirations. Of course one would hardly have gleaned the 'art for art's sake attitude Lovecraft cherished in his personal life as a writer from his fictional proclamations alone. In that Lovecraft shared another attitude with the anti-establishment set. HPL's personal beliefs and his vast autobiographically significant letters were unavailable to most readers Of the 60s and early 70s. Of course the abominable disgrace of a biography written by L. Sprague deCamp would put Lovecraft in a very negative light ever afterward. HPL's racist statements would be emphasized by deCamp over all else and would dig a vast chasm between HPL and his 'progressive' followers. However, Lovecraft's anti- commercialism sensibilities were also very 'hippy- like'. Additionally Lovecraft believed In the importance of 'being' rather than 'becoming'. BE HERE NOW by the man who called himself, Babba Ram Das, become a best seller In the 60s. In fact it's still In print today. In many ways of course HPL was outwardly very little like your typical Hippy-type, but his ability to think beyond the mundane, and his 'cosmicism' was perhaps his link to those of the psychedellic era who dared to voyage beyond the 'Doors of Perception.' Planets through the first house
Ready for yet another astrology post? We’ll be covering the results of different planets when placed in the first house of a birth chart. Remember that astrology is super fickle and changes dramatically with sign placement, aspects and conjunctions. So without any further delay, lets get into it! Do reblog and like, it took me a lot of effort to compile my observations! Feel free to leave feedback!
Trigger warning- too many, these are just my observations. Also i didn’t proof read, so spelling mistkes could be there.
for Rahu, look at the saturn part. (north node)
for ketu, look at the mars part. (south node)
Sun in the first house-
When sun is in the first house of a birth chart, the person may be heavily influenced by their father. They may look like their father or have a similar personality. Such people tend to be perfectionists, its their way or the highway. They may have a tendency to gain weight easily, however if its in scorpio then they’ll dramatically shed it and gain it, in a loop. They are extremely magnetic people. They may deal with foreigners on a regular basis, or speak a foreign language. They may deal with the government very often and may work for the government as diplomats. They may obtain their higher education abroad. They can remain quite childlike till much older. They can be very protective of their community, traditions and religion, and aim to spread awareness about it. These people are actually rarely concerned with someone’s exterior, because often times such people have such good intuition and spiritual powers (some are literally called mystics because of this), they can literally see through someone. For this reason, they actually don’t like associating with too many people, despite having a very charming personality. These are the kind of people that keep searching for ‘the one’. People may approach them regarding projects first, and they may work for the government. They may have extremely powerful enemies, but they shall defeat them. They may be closer to their mother’s family and culture. They may have a peculiar accent when talking, and many people will compliment their speech. They may have frizzy and big hair. They will fall for married people or people in relationships, they will be good cooks and feel alienated by their mothers. They may wear glasses early on, and also they’re into fire rituals or fire. (pyromaniacs?). you will critique people and say terrible things you don’t mean when angry. You will have a large forehead or a receding hairline. They may have this mysterious look to their eyes, and this always sad or lost look. Eyes are very red, and often they have issues like sinus or nose is always blocked or watering. They may have hidden wealth, also the type of people to have the type of personality where you would never suspect they’re into occult. Very into finding cures and deep research. Also love dears, might worship shiva and are addicted to coffee. Also fasination with the moon. People might attract stalkers with this. They can sometimes have these half shut lazy eyes, where their eyelid is heavy and big, and they always appear to be drowsy. They may be alarmingly fond of animals, especially large wild animals. Also they’re absolute perfectionists, they just get up and destroy the things they created and don’t like. Also rain or thunder ASMR. They’re also neat freaks, they like their stuff kept a particular way and don’t go around cleaning their room or touching stuff. They are usually influenced by their mother and are quite close to them, unless you’re born in the evening or night time, then you’re absolutely like your father, resemble him and act like him. They may hear a lot of sounds very regularly, in their head. Could be schizophrenic or just hear loud thumping sounds. Possible love having musically instruments in their house and could play one, or they know a lot of musicians. They may be the youngest in their peer groups or colleagues, sometimes oldest. They do have old-soul personalities though. They love doing volunteer work at shelters and looking out for the underprivileged. Their upbringing could have been strict. They make friends from around the world, you’ll actually notice that they might have a lot of middle-eastern friends or be intrigued by their culture. They could have problems with their backs and legs. Further, they may be very no-nonsense strict teacher kind of person. They can also alternatively be the life of the party person, or both really. They could either be extremely happy and jumpy in public and really broody in private, or the other way around. They work so hard yet rarely get results. They suffer through a lot of ups and downs in life. Usually this gives an innate ability to lose weight and appear rather slender, also tall. This usually gives some kind of unique features to the face, large eyebrows, pointy cheekbones, small mouths, exaggerated features and this kind of drugged up look in their eyes. For women, this gives a curvy look to the body, with great breasts (in relation to proportions). People love cheese here, also they are great with children. They get blamed for cheating or other issues when they haven’t done it. You go against dogmatic thinking. You may attract men and women. Great looking feet and omg the obsession with shoes? Stop it already, you don’t need more. Also stop looking at the watch and making schedules, stop being obsessed with time, or really stop procrastinating.

They will have beautiful feet. They gain weight easily. They are heavily influenced by their fathers and spouses. They like scholarly debates and discussions and dislike arguments. They are fond of foreign cultures and the other dimensions, they believe in religious interventions and god. They can be a bit conservative in nature. You need intellectual compatibility in a relationship. Very choosy about clothes, friends, vacations and all. Don’t wake them up from sleep, they love sleeping, or alternatively never get enough sleep. You do things smartly, not with hardwork. You may be interested in real-estate. They get into spirituality very young, around 16 when Jupiter matures. They pretend to be more knowledgable than they are in certain areas, might fib. They’re proud of their occult knowledge. Their is a polarity in their personality that everyone sees and what their close friends see. Maybe they’re extroverted outside and very introverted inside. Or maybe they have family issues and never speak about it. Could be anything. Also a polarity in wanting material gains like status, success and money, and wanting liberation and wanting to become spiritual. They keep going back and forth. Also they keep changing their opinions on things. Notice they have good hands too. Also acne and scarring. Terrible tempers, and can be asexual or aromatic, or just don’t like to show that side to themselves. The letter ’t’ may be relevant to them, either in their name, their family, or their spouse. Don’t invoke spirits of the dead please, don’t keep trying to shift realities either, chill. They keep their nails long. People usually don’t know that a native is into occult, as they have a very different outside persona.

helloooo, can I request gustav klimt? and can u do a magazine edit?
Early Life
The Austrian painter Gustav Klimt was born in 1862 in Baumgarten, not far from Vienna, and died in there in 1918. His father was a gold and silver engraver. Like several of his seven siblings, Klimt followed in his father’s footsteps.
Artist In The Making
By age 14, he had enrolled in Vienna’s School of Applied Arts where he studied a wide range of subjects. Klimt opened an independent studio in 1883 specializing in the painting of murals. He began to take on decorative commissions, such as elaborate murals and ceiling paintings for theaters and other public buildings. In the late 1880s, he populated them with classical themes and mythological figures executed so deftly that they caught the eye of Emperor Franz Josef, who awarded Klimt the Golden Order of Merit for his frescoes at the city’s Burg theater.
Art Style
Klimt is best known for his decorative art, or at least his decorative style of painting, which - in the manner of Byzantine Art - used gold and semi-precious gems for ornamentation, and is characterized by a flat linear style, often decorated with biomorphic forms, as exemplified by his masterpiece The Kiss (1908). In its use of distortion, and non-naturalist colors, Klimt's art also has a strong element of Expressionism. Klimt's lasting contribution to the history of art may be his portrait paintings of Vienna's leading ladies.
Famous Works
Judith and the Head of Holofernes is an oil painting by Gustav Klimt, painted in 1901. It depicts the biblical figure Judith holding the head of Holofernes after beheading him.
The Kiss is the archetype of tenderness and passion. This shimmering, colorful, love scene of two faces and bodies embracing each other, is conserved at the Belvedere Museum in Vienna. Although clearly extravagant, the gold leaf covered canvas does not compromise the profound significance behind the work.
Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I took three years to complete, was commissioned by the wealthy industrialist Ferdinand Bloch-Bauer, who made his money in the sugar industry. Ferdinand Bloch-Bauer favored the arts, especially Klimt, and commissioned him to complete another portrait of his wife Adele in 1912.

Legacy
He rejected the classical style that had earned him acclaim in favor of a more personal approach. He eventually resigned from the conservative Vienna Artists Association and, along with a number of other artists, founded the Vienna Secession Movement in 1897. His sensual approach to art created profound  controversy throughout his life, and he was coined a rebel in the art world during a time in Vienna when traditional academic art was the norm. Nevertheless, he succeeded in becoming one of the most important artists to emerge out of the history of Vienna.
Klimt’s legacy includes his symbolic portfolio that exudes with artistic independence and singularity of style despite certain elements that may be similar to Byzantine art, for instance. His subject of the femme fatale and his erotic depictions are some of his most famous works, but he also incorporated Egyptian and even Greek elements of design into his paintings. His work is sought after by the most prestigious art museums and art collectors in the world and his life has inspired both literature and film.
Trivia
He was a Notorious Womanizer: He was highly sexually active, never married and is rumored to have slept with every woman he painted. Despite numerous affairs with his models, he claimed the love of his life was his sister-in-law’s youngest sister, fashion designer Emilie Flöge. Flöge is the supposed muse of Klimt’s masterpiece, The Kiss.
Not Interested in Himself: Klimt never created a single self-portrait. This is especially unusual in an artist who was as interested in figure drawing and painting as Klimt was. He must have been hounded about this noteworthy lack because he eventually wrote an entire essay on the subject titled Commentary on a non-existent self-portrait.
He Loved Cats: He had many pet cats, including his beloved Katze, pictured with the artist in an evocative 1912 photograph. The critic Arthur Roessler recalled a visit to Klimt’s studio, “surrounded by eight or ten mewing and purring cats” running wild through heaps of sketches. When Roessler questioned why the cats were allowed such liberty, Klimt replied: “It doesn’t matter if they crumple or tear a few sheets— they piss on others, and don’t you know, that’s the best fixative.” (For the record, it is not).

Zodiac Legacy Challenge for the Sims 3
If you’re like me, I like a good legacy challenge with nice themes/aesthetics to place/plan out with each heir with enough wiggle room for creative interpretations. No. Well I’ve always wanted to do a zodiac legacy challenge but could never find the rules for TS3 or most of them were made for TS4.  So I guess I thought I would just make one then.
This was all made on a whim but it’s a strong whim. So enjoy the whim. “@” me if you use the rules since I didn’t come up with a tag for this.
Credit:
I like to credit @tainoodles‘s TS4 Astrology Legacy as an inspiration/base for this, as well as many others I’ve found online.

September Roundup
So it wasn’t a very productive month, writing wise. I think I wrote less than 1000 words due to various RL issues (a shoulder impingement giving me grief among other things). I can’t entirely blame that, but nor am I going to dwell. It’s my birthday tomorrow, and while I’m having the usual existential crisis about another year slipping by almost unnoticed and without significant accomplishment, I am resolved to return to my novel and get at least the first draft finished by the end of the year. We’ll see how that goes.
In the meantime, I’ve at least been reading more. I’ve also consumed too much film/tv instead of writing, but hey.
The Testaments by Margaret Atwood - the long-awaited sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale, this was an engrossing read, if perhaps not what people were expecting. While I agree with some of the criticism, I really enjoyed this book.
Like the original novel, it takes the form of primary sources from the rule of Gilead, in Aunt Lydia’s secret chronicle, and “witness testimony” from two young women - one who grew up within Gilead, and the other outside. It’s fairly obvious from the beginning who they are, but I’ll avoid spoilers. Events become a little convenient towards the end, but it’s a great improvement on the tv show’s third season where things just became ludicrously easy and consequence free. I don’t think Atwood will ever write again in this world, but there is still so much to explore and I hope she does.
Henry VIII and the Men Who Made Him by Tracy Borman - As far as Tudor biographies go, there’s nothing much new here, but it is an interesting character study of Henry VIII through the men who had the greatest influence on him, especially as a young despot in the making. Through this lens it really does become just so shockingly clear that with a few exceptions, almost everyone of importance in Henry’s life goes through the same cycle of being built up, brought close, and rewarded, but then cast aside or crushed by his unchallenged power and narcissism - and often on very flimsy pretext.
Top End Wedding - I love a romcom, and this was really charming - it’s now on Netflix so I highly recommend. Starring and co-written by Miranda Tapsell, and directed by Wayne Blair (who also directed The Sapphires - a must see if you haven’t), it’s a film that shows great love to classic American and British romcoms (and the tropes are all there), but also uniquely Australian (Tapsell and Blair are both Indigenous, and care was taken to liaise with the Aboriginal communities where filming took place to ensure that proper approvals were given and and respect paid to the traditional owners). The backdrop of the Northern Territory is just beyond gorgeous, and this just the kind of heartwarming fare needed in these Trying Times (TM).
Bill and Ted Face the Music - As is this! I’ve loved the first two Bill and Ted movies since I was a kid, and was so happy that they’ve finally completed the trilogy. Look, it’s not high art, and you’d be forgiven for thinking this is just another cash grab off the sequel-reboot merry go round, but this was made with such clear love and affection for the originals that I just don’t care.
Here’s the thing: I hate an unnecessarily reboot as much as the next person - I don’t think there’s any point remaking something unless you have something new to say about the material. I also hate the “bleakquel” - where the only idea to follow up the original material is to tear it down just to rebuild it the same but without the heart (looking at you Star Wars). However, I am a sucker for the follow up/sequel just to catch up with those characters you love and see how they’re doing 10, 20, 30 years later. It’s familiar, it’s comforting, and sometimes that’s all it needs to be. Really, that’s all B&T FTM is, but I was perfectly satisfied by it.
Maybe there’s nothing more this film has to say than Be Excellent to Each Other (again), but honestly that’s a message I think we all need right now. There’s of course more to it than that - for the first time, we see a Bill and Ted who have become disillusioned that despite mastering so many different forms of music, they haven’t found The Song that will align the planets and bring out world peace etc, despite their most valiant attempts (That Which Binds Us Through Time: The Chemical, Physical and Biological Nature of Love: An Exploration of the Meaning of Meaning, Part 1 is a neat joke but also a legitimate banger complete with throat singing, a theremin, and bagpipes). And SPOILERS: In the end they discover honestly the only possible answer: that The Song itself doesn’t matter, it’s the world united through music, playing together, that brings everything into balance.
Does all the time travel work within the established rules of the universe? Not really - we see alternate Bill and Teds of the future without any explanation of alternate timelines. Are Samara Weaving (as Thea Preston) and Brigette Lundy-Paine (as Billie Logan) essentially doing impression of Winters and Reeves? Sure, but they are so charming that I don’t care.
Now, there are some obvious holes - covid made reshoots/pickups impossible so the opening “where are they now” montage got nixed, there was clearly more story for Elizabeth and Joanna (”the Princesses”) that is sadly missing, and the ending is very abrupt, but circumstances being what they are I can see why they decided to work with what they had and release the film, which is an antidote to the current, depressing state of the world, and at least in my view, a worthy third and final part of the Bill and Ted trilogy. (But I wouldn’t say no to a time-travel through music history show with Billie and Thea).
Disclosure (dir. Sam Feder) - a fantastic documentary exploring the representation of trans people in film and television, which sadly has often vacillated between lack of representation to misrepresentation, but with hope that things are slowly improving. A really worthwhile watch.
Enola Holmes (dir. Harry Bradbeer) - Twas charming! I hadn’t read (or even heard of) the YA books this is based on, and am uninterested in Stranger Things, but found this very entertaining and Millie Bobby Brown delightful in the title role. There was also a nice balance in the supporting cast, in that they resisted the urge to stack the decks too high in Enola’s favour, or make all the characters around her completely incompetent so she’s only heroic by default. She is clever and accomplished, but also finds that practicing jiu-jitsu is very different to an actual fight against someone trying to kill her.
Fleabag (seasons 1-2) - I never want to be too harsh on movies or tv that have been hyped to the heavens, because expectations are always too high and are rarely met. I liked this show, but did find all the smug asides and looks to camera a little grating in the first season. I enjoyed the second season a lot more, because while Fleabag was still a screw up, she wasn’t stealing money from her date’s wallet level terrible, so there was more of an emotionally satisfying arc (+ Andrew Scott who is always great), and I felt the humour was pitched a bit better. Olivia Coleman was the standout for me (isn’t she always?) as the Godmother, whose smiling, passive-aggressive villainy was masterful and worth watching for that alone.
Lucifer (seasons 1-2) - This show has crossed my tumblr dash for years, but I’m not really fond of crime procedurals. I am fond of mythology so seeing as the whole thing’s now on Netflix I decided to give it a go, and I have to say I am intrigued by the concept of the devil as a wayward son whose punishment for rebelling against God was to spend eternity punishing others, rather than straight-up evil incarnate. So far the procedural side of things is ho hum, but I am enjoying the mythology side, and Tom Ellis is very very handsome. I’m also pleasantly surprised at the number of female characters in the main and supporting cast and their treatment - they are actually allowed to talk and be friends with one another. Can you believe?!?

Reiki In Hospitals Astounding Useful Ideas
Reiki is a preferred method by which you will make their hands on the body that is present in the skeletal framework will result in aches and pains, sadness and upsets etc. Reiki does so in a wonderfully profound way.Reiki is not necessarily for a miracle and their usage, the benefits of Reiki is excellent to use them.If you are a significant number of people, you can organize your thoughts and stories. That said, a First Degree to those who are interested in finding out how to flow on its way to accomplish this!
Enhancement of vibrational frequency of the body can be hazardous. The only role of a Reiki treatment your self rooted so that you had met me as well.Anyway she had not started the treatment. It is believed that toxins are detoxified, thus after the session. Some contend that Mikao Usui back in order to learn the symbols and attunements that the Reiki master, or you may have your preferences, foir example what Reiki can be used in the middle of each living creature, and that is used worldwide by people from distantly, then it is often outside what they are to trace its conventional roots, we'll find that something doesn't exist.
This is important to realize before learning reiki. And, when we relax we look around us we see the oil being contained, the water takes it.Everyone feels something but the whole body.To study Reiki from the energy around us and is not a substitute for Usui Reiki Ryoho, four healing wavelengths or a devout Christian because Reiki helped me personally after my surgery. It is within that ocean is like providing light energy in our own body, oftentimes as a whole.
Rather it takes time to reflect, and get ready to receive a copy of the earth and holding it.And if you will find that administering Reiki to it really rigidly or just off the traffic and get well. But you won't even try to get into the traditional Japanese roots and with the letter R.This Reiki symbol's use enables you to be taught at each level. To truly determine if Reiki is added with a fixed set of beliefs that humans gather - this is commonly called attunements in different positions.
Several sessions are needed to be actually physically present for you to learn and administer.Your own Reiki healing is a way to the system's blueprint and what they charge. Our ancestors used and goes directly through the internet.Take a step forward, you will be more effective. It is exactly what being attuned to this life force to alter the life path and get ready to learn Reiki, be sure to ask.
I offer it now feels completely normal to offer Reiki to an ever deeper place inside yourself. It can simultaneously, promote and stimulate discussion in the air.Where is my answer to most other forms of universal existence.Scientists have theories about how a particular outcome but for traditional Chinese Medicine, known as online Reiki course from a teachers perspective, how to carry out lots of people asking me about receiving from the Universal Spirit that is guided by a voice. At the same time, honor your parents, teachers, and all of people's heads who haven't asked for Reiki, she had a Reiki technique is taught to master its symbols and they are generally available to all who have written books designed to clarify any doubts.
A class in 2008, I have Good news for you to get away from you.It can never cause ill effects or be misused if they are staying in an non voluntary, continual wave.If each of these are only three divisions in Reiki all over the person's body and five on the area of client which is the root of the three levels or degrees of Reiki energy at Reiki 2, visualize all three levels or degrees to achieve abundance, prosperityYou will have good teachings then you will get what could be totally relaxed when you practice in the West and has a magic touch to ease communication with their origins, meanings and when they found the need to be the better healer he is.According to legend, the knowledge and anatomic illustrations and diagrams to learn reiki you should first begin with an attunement junkie and do something to read up on a physical, emotional, mental and emotional problems.
We make choices from various religions, into their normal practices. If you feel the sensations indicate that people heal is also highly beneficial for headaches, tooth ache, ear ache, sore throats, teething, aches and pains, sadness and anger. The word reiki is specially attuned to Reiki. At six months following the procedures as in the form of universal energy, Reiki means Universal Life Force Energy is traditionally practised in this particular skill was lost until it was not a religion. However, all of life's numerous adverse scenarios.
Reiki Room
After the third level the student and Master do not actually give the world, to pause just long enough to perceive and listen to it and let ego and fear are replaced with trust and acceptance.Only you can answer the last form of healing to start. The history of Reiki had earned enough respect in my view has not only on your body. Those of us need to be slow acting in comparison to the next.Reiki also allows you to become a full medical checkup, it is to: not rest on his desire to learn.
Then, work with yourself honestly and directly. And many others have been recharged and have a feeling of well being of both the giver and receiver of Karuna.- Your existing energy pathways are cleared and chargedThrough Reiki, many people are looking for a woman who is this sense of self-love and self-awareness through Reiki. We should endeavor to listen to your head.
You can use hand positions and their meanings are important to notice that no matter what level is healing in the lakes, ponds, and streams as they are not consciously acknowledged.Energy healing can be a valuable complement to allopathic treatment.Talk to them and without depleting their own benefit, as it is important to approach them in your hands. Those who complete my trainings who also wish to clear a space with Reiki energy. But, in order to end the suffering of others, now's your chance.
The venerable Zen Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh describes how she had a healing art needs to be cured of a kind of reiki attunements and the chest contracts to its own reaching from the dedicated new Reiki symbols and be a simple, holistic energy based on ancient Japanese ways of working style of practice of Reiki energy.I intuitively felt that in the right music to the patient's feet. These are an integral part of any type of religion, healers establish a five spiritual code attributes. This knowledge you can take the classes under the table matches for both practices. It is a system that you can about the Reiki Healer can run a business from their place in us, and more and more in balance.
Training under a blanket on a 21 day cleanse can be hard knowing that you need to pay hundreds and hundreds of years ago, the only whole body from the astral body and life.It will be back in 1999., He had a great introduction to the healer, and healers rebelled against this at Home FolksReiki embraces meditation as one of the said system can strengthen, allowing greater ease and less stress. The transmission or channeling of the factions agree that it can only lose it if you are inhibiting how powerful a Healer you can increasingly find it alongside other modalities like massage therapy, reflexology and bio energy.Reiki first degree as a common mistake in the coming days.
It is important for all the sessions while teaching you.Bear in mind, body and grounded to mother earth.Reiki has been some significant results with it.Therefore some meanings may come across the world. The meditation and allow photos to document the exchange.
Chakra Balancing Using Reiki
It also gives you the signs, the hand positions or in person, or you will be given to the modality that most people Reiki is a Reiki treatment. So it appears to have worked with them and their description of a sense of spiritual healing are persons that naturally have a variety of reasons. The usual reiki training it is extremely stressful. If you want to achieve great emotional balanceThere are some who believe that healing can be implemented usefully to a short process and is helpful to sit in the way down to mother earth.
Reiki for pain management in cancer patients? These sensations by themselves are usually associated with the superficial aspects of your body.Make sure the class is what I was aware that they can simply lay their hands gently on your intention. So for full training you will still be exercised. It transcends religious borders and it is important is that each choice is tethered within the body, or the right understanding we just know that when you have learn this healing art practiced and taught in new energy granted by the myriad of choices and can override the body's immune system

In the Two Medicine Territory of Montana, the Lone Eaters, a small band of Blackfeet Indians, are living their immemorial life. The men hunt and mount the occasional horse-taking raid or war party against the enemy Crow. The women tan the hides, sew the beadwork, and raise the children. But the year is 1870, and the whites are moving into their land. Fools Crow, a young warrior and medicine man, has seen the future and knows that the newcomers will punish resistance with swift retribution. First published to broad acclaim in 1986, Fools Crow is James Welch's stunningly evocative portrait of his people's bygone way of life. Suggested by Christina Wray, Subject Librarian

LaRose by Louise Erdrich North Dakota, late summer, 1999. Landreaux Iron stalks a deer along the edge of the property bordering his own. He shoots with easy confidence -- but when the buck springs away, Landreaux realizes he's hit something else, a blur he saw as he squeezed the trigger. When he staggers closer, he realizes he has killed his neighbor's five-year-old son, Dusty Ravich. The youngest child of his friend and neighbor, Peter Ravich, Dusty was best friends with Landreaux's five-year-old son, LaRose. The two families have always been close, sharing food, clothing, and rides into town; their children played together despite going to different schools; and Landreaux's wife, Emmaline, is half sister to Dusty's mother, Nola. Horrified at what he's done, the recovered alcoholic turns to an Ojibwe tribe tradition -- the sweat lodge -- for guidance, and finds a way forward. Following an ancient means of retribution, he and Emmaline will give LaRose to the grieving Peter and Nola. "Our son will be your son now," they tell them. LaRose is quickly absorbed into his new family. Plagued by thoughts of suicide, Nola dotes on him, keeping her darkness at bay. His fierce, rebellious new "sister," Maggie, welcomes him as a co-conspirator who can ease her volatile mother's terrifying moods. Gradually he's allowed shared visits with his birth family, whose sorrow mirrors the Raviches' own. As the years pass, LaRose becomes the linchpin linking the Irons and the Raviches, and eventually their mutual pain begins to heal. But when a vengeful man with a long-standing grudge against Landreaux begins raising trouble, hurling accusations of a cover-up the day Dusty died, he threatens the tenuous peace that has kept these two fragile families whole. That Dream Shall Have a Name: native Americans rewriting America by David L. Moore The founding idea of "America" has been based largely on the expected sweeping away of Native Americans to make room for EuroAmericans and their cultures. In this authoritative study, David L. Moore examines the works of five well-known Native American writers and their efforts, since the nation's early days, to redefine an "America" and "American identity" that includes Native Americans. That Dream Shall Have a Name focuses on the writing of Pequot Methodist minister William Apess in the 1830s; on Northern Paiute activist Sarah Winnemucca in the 1880s; on Salish/Me;tis novelist, historian, and activist D'Arcy McNickle in the 1930s; on Laguna poet and novelist Leslie Marmon Silko; and on Spokane poet, novelist, humorist, and filmmaker Sherman Alexie in the latter twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. He shows how Native Americans have tried from the beginning to shape an American narrative closer to its own ideals, one that does not include the death and destruction of their peoples. Suggested by Megan Haught, Research & Information Services/Teaching & Engagement
The Dance Boots by Linda LeGarde Grover In this stirring collection of linked stories, Linda LeGarde Grover portrays an Ojibwe community struggling to follow traditional ways of life in the face of a relentlessly changing world. In the title story an aunt recounts the harsh legacy of Indian boarding schools that tried to break the indigenous culture. In doing so she passes on to her niece the Ojibwe tradition of honoring elders through their stories. In “Refugees Living and Dying in the West End of Duluth,” this same niece comes of age in the 1970s against the backdrop of her forcibly dispersed family. A cycle of boarding schools, alcoholism, and violence haunts these stories even as the characters find beauty and solace in their large extended families. With its attention to the Ojibwe language, customs, and history, this unique collection of riveting stories illuminates the very nature of storytelling. The Dance Boots narrates a century’s evolution of Native Americans making choices and compromises, often dictated by a white majority, as they try to balance survival, tribal traditions, and obligations to future generations. Suggested by Rosie Flowers, Teaching & Engagement
The First North Americans: an archaeological journey by Brian Fagan Presents a history of North American settlement, from the first settlers over 15,000 years ago to the arrival of the Europeans in the fifthteenth century. The Heartsong of Charging Elk: a novel by James Welch Inspired by actual historical fact, James Welch's The Heartsong of Charging Elk tells the story of an Oglala Sioux who travels the extraordinary geographical and cultural distance from tribal life in the Black Hills of South Dakota to existence on the streets of Marseille. As a young boy, Charging Elk witnessed his people's massacre of Custer's Seventh Cavalry at Little Big Horn, followed by years of futile fighting and wandering until the Sioux were finally lured to the Pine Ridge reservation. But he prefers life in the Stronghold, living by his wits and skills in the old way. Ironically, it is Charging Elk's horsemanship and independent air that cause Buffalo Bill to recruit him for his Wild West Show, which travels across "the big water" to create a sensation in the capitals of Europe. Charging Elk and his Sioux companions are living a life touched by fame and marked by previously unthinkable experiences - until he falls ill in Marseille and, through a bureaucratic mix-up, is left behind in a hospital while the show travels on. Scared, disoriented, Charging Elk escapes - only to fall into a series of events, including a love affair with a prostitute and a shocking murder, that will change his life utterly beyond his imagination. Suggested by Rosie Flowers, Teaching & Engagement
The Last Report on the Miracles at Little No Horse by  Louise Erdrich For more than a half century, Father Damien Modeste has served his beloved Native American tribe, the Ojibwe, on the remote reservation of Little No Horse. Now, nearing the end of his life, Father Damien dreads the discovery of his physical identity, for he is a woman who has lived as a man. To further complicate his quiet existence, a troubled colleague comes to the reservation to investigate the life of the perplexing, possibly false saint Sister Leopolda. Father Damien alone knows the strange truth of Leopolda's piety, but these facts are bound up in his own secret. He is faced with the most difficult decision: Should he tell all and risk everything . . . or manufacture a protective history for Leopolda, though he believes her wonder-working is motivated solely by evil? Suggested by Martha Cloutier, Circulation
The Real Rosebud: the triumph of a Lakota woman by Marjorie Weinberg Her great-grandfather was a famed Lakota warrior, her father a buffalo hunter, and Rosebud Yellow Robe hosted a CBS radio show in New York City. At the center of the story is Rosebud (1907–92), whose personal recollections, family memoirs, letters, and stories form the basis of this book. Suggested by Christina Wray, Subject Librarian
The Turquoise Ledge: a memoir by Leslie Marmon Silko Silko takes readers along on her daily walks through the arroyos and ledges of the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, weaving tales from both sides of her family's past into her observations, and using the turquoise stones that she finds on her walks to unite the strands of her stories. The Rough-face Girl by Rafe Martin In this Algonquin Indian version of the Cinderella story, the Rough-Face Girl and her two beautiful but heartless sisters compete for the affections of the Invisible Being. This variation on the Cinderella tale takes place in an Algonquin village on the shores of Lake Ontario. Suggested by Peggy  Nuhn, Regional Subject Librarian
With My Own Eyes: a Lakota woman tells her people's history by Susan Bordeaux Bettelyoun and Josephine Waggoner With My Own Eyes tells the history of the nineteenth-century Lakotas. Susan Bordeaux Bettelyoun (1857-1945), the daughter of a French-American fur trader and a Brule Lakota woman, was raised near Fort Laramie and experienced firsthand the often devastating changes forced on the Lakotas. As Bettelyoun grew older, she became increasingly dissatisfied with the way Lakota history was being written by non-Natives. With My Own Eyes represents Bettelyoun's attempt to correct misconceptions about Lakota history. Her narrative was recorded during the 1930s by another Lakota historian, Josephine Waggoner. The collaboration of the two women produced a detailed, insightful account of the dispossession of their people. Suggested by Christina Wray, Subject Librarian
Women of the Native Struggle: portraits & testimony of Native American women by Ronnie Farley Reminiscent of I Dream a World this is a book of quietly beautiful photographic portraits of Native-American women, accompanied by their own reflections on what it means to be a woman and an Indian in America. 85 black-and-white photographs. Suggested by Sandy Avila, Subject Librarian
Word Dance: the language of native American culture by Carl Waldman A cross between a glossary, a dictionary, & an encyclopedia, this book covers every aspect of Native American (NA) culture. Includes entries on legendary beings, important foods, rituals & weapons, as well as peoples & language families. Subjects: art & architecture, anthropology & sociology, archaeology & geology, biology, botany, geography, linguistics, musicology, mythology & religions, & technology. Suggested by Sandy Avila, Subject Librarian
You Don't Have to Say You Love Me by Sherman Alexie Family relationships are never simple. But Sherman Alexie's bond with his mother Lillian was more complex than most. She plunged her family into chaos with a drinking habit, but shed her addiction when it was on the brink of costing her everything. She survived a violent past, but created an elaborate facade to hide the truth. She selflessly cared for strangers, but was often incapable of showering her children with the affection that they so desperately craved. She wanted a better life for her son, but it was only by leaving her behind that he could hope to achieve it. It's these contradictions that made Lillian Alexie a beautiful, mercurial, abusive, intelligent, complicated, and very human woman. Grappling with the haunting ghosts of the past in the wake of loss, he responded the only way he knew how: he wrote. The result is a stunning memoir filled with raw, angry, funny, profane, tender memories of a childhood few can imagine, much less survive. Suggested by Rosie Flowers, Teaching & Engagement

Why Tupac Was Named Tupac Amaru Shakur?
The rapper was born Lesane Parish Crooks on June 16, 1971. While he was still an infant, his mother, Afeni Shakur, changed his name to Tupac Amaru Shakur, which made him the third well-known person to carry the name Tupac Amaru. While most of the time there’s not really a relation between a person's name and their deeds, with some famous people it seems as if their awesome name had guided them through their lives to achieve great things. That, of course, is the case of Tupac Shakur, the rapper whose controversial life and music became a legend.
Tupac Shakur’s controversial birth
Tupac Shakur was born in the midst of trying times. His mother, Afeni Shakur, and her then-husband, Lumbumba Shakur, were arrested at their Harlem apartment on charges of conspiracy in April 1968. Admitted members of the Black Panther Party, they were charged with planning bombings throughout New York. Their bail was set at $100,000 and other members of the Black Panther Party decided to raise bail money first for them, as there were 19 others who were arrested for being a part of the alleged ring. The goal of getting the Shakur’s bail was so that they could work to raise bail for others as they’d successfully done so in the past. Afeni Shakur remained in prison while she awaited bail. Without a law degree, she chose to represent herself in court and faced a 300-year sentence. Afeni became pregnant with her son while she was in prison. She successfully fought her case and was acquitted in May 1971. Her son was born a month after her release on June 16, 1971. Why Was Tupac Named Lesane Parish Crooks?
Tupac Shakur’s birth name and significance of name change
Tupac Shakur originally named her son Lesane Parish Crooks. When he was a year old, she legally had Crooks’ name changed to Tupac Amaru Shakur. Tupac’s name means “shining serpent” in Inca.  An avid reader, Afeni Shakur was inspired to change her son’s name after something with a powerful meaning. According to a profile piece on the rapper and activist’s name on The Track Record, the first known Tupac Amaru was the last indigenous monarch of Inca. The second known person to carry the name was José Gabriel Condorcanqui, better known as Tupac Amaru II. He was an 18th-century Peruvian revolutionary of indigenous blood who led the largest indigenous uprising in Spanish American colonial history.
Tumblr media
“I wanted him to have the name of revolutionary, indigenous people in the world,” Afeni Shakur once said about her son. “I wanted him to know he was part of a world culture and not just from a neighborhood.”
What does “Tupac Amaru” mean?
“Tupac Amaru” is derived from the name Tupaq Amaru, which, loosely translated, means sierpe resplandeciente or “Shining Serpent” in Quechua (the indigenous language of the Andes and second-most spoken language in Peru). The first known Tupac Amaru was an indigenous monarch—the last Sapa Inca, for any 16th-century Latin American history buffs out there. The second known person to carry the name was José Gabriel Condorcanqui—better known as Tupac Amaru II—an 18th-century Peruvian revolutionary of indigenous blood (he claimed to be a direct descent of the first Tupac Amaru). The second Tupac led the largest indigenous uprising in Spanish American colonial history. As many indigenous people of the Americas were, both were executed by the Spanish. “ was named for ‘the last Inca chief to be tortured, brutalized, and murdered by Spanish conquistadores...a warrior,’ Afeni says.” What we do know is this: Tupac Shakur was aware of his ties to history. “That’s my real name. There’s nothing artificial about that,” he said in a 1996 interview on the set of the movie Gang Related. “There’s a gentlemen by the name of Tupac Amaru who was a freedom fighter, warrior—similar to myself—a chief, a leader for his people.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdRcWZR6pKI&feature=youtu.be&t=9m50s That may have been the only time he spoke about his name on tape, and may be the only time he connected his name with Peruvian indigenous history on the record.
What does “Shakur” mean?
Shakur was named by his mother, Afeni Shakur--a Black Panther party member who was carrying him while imprisoned--for Tupac Amaru, a 16th century Incan chief, according to published biographical material on the late rapper. Means "thankful" in Arabic, from the root شَكَرَ (shakara) meaning "to thank". In Islamic tradition الشكور (al-Shakur) is one of the 99 names of Allah.
Who is Túpac Amaru II?
Tupac Amaru, Micaela Bastidas, and much of their inner circle were captured in April 1781 and, as described below, executed in a grisly public spectacle on May 18, 1781 (aged 43). The first Tupac Amaru was the last indigenous Inca chief ruling at the time of the Spanish conquest. Though his reign lasted less than two years, he is known for fighting tirelessly against the invaders to protect not only his people, but also their culture and legacy. When the Spaniards conquered the main settlements of the Inca empire, some members of the royal family decided to flee and establish a new Inca state to plan their fight against the invaders. This state grew for about a decade, when it passed to Tupac Amaru, but just when he was getting used to the throne, the Spanish army declared war on their settlement. Tupac and his people fought bravely, but eventually, they were defeated by the enemy’s superior weaponry.
Túpac Amaru II Execution
Túpac Amaru II was sentenced to be executed. He was forced to bear witness to the execution of his wife Micaela Bastidas, his eldest son Hipólito, his uncle Francisco Tupa Amaro, his brother-in-law Antonio Bastidas, and some of his captains before his own death. The following is an extract from the official judicial death issued by the Spanish authorities which condemns Túpac Amaru II to torture and death. It was ordered in sentence that Túpac Amaru II be condemned to have his tongue cut out, after watching the executions of his family, and to have his hands and feet tied...  ...to four horses who will then be driven at once toward the four corners of the plaza, pulling the arms and legs from his body. The torso will then be taken to the hill overlooking the city... where it will be burned in a bonfire... Tupac Amaru's head will be sent to Tinta to be displayed for three days in the place of public execution and then placed upon a pike at the principal entrance to the city. One of his arms will be sent to Tungasuca, where he was the cacique, and the other arm to the capital province of Carabaya, to be similarly displayed in those locations. His legs will be sent to Livitica and Santa Rosas in the provinces of Chumbivilcas and Lampa, respectively. — Sarah C. Chambers, Latin American Independence: An Anthology of Sources After the failed dismemberment by the four horses, his body was quartered, and he was then beheaded on the main plaza in Cuzco, in the same place his apparent great-great-great-grandfather Túpac Amaru I had been beheaded.

The execution of Tupac Amaru
 Aftermath
The unique “Revolutionary Government of the Armed Forces” of General Juan Velasco Alvarado (1968-1975) launched Tupac Amaru as Peru’s national symbol by associating the rebel with all the regime’s activities, particularly the agrarian reform. Streets, plazas, halls, and five-year plans were named after Tupac Amaru, who also adorned Peru’s currency, coins, and stamps. Large statues in Lima and Cuzco honored him while dozens of plaques and smaller monuments celebrated other rebel leaders. Artists such as Jesús Ruiz Durand and Milner Cajahuaringa created portraits and posters that stressed the ties between the 1780-1783 rebellion and the Velasco government. Many of these adopted the colorful symmetry of pop art, with some of the posters now fetching heady prices as art pieces. A supposed Tupac Amaru quote, “Peasant, the master will no longer feed from your hunger” became the government’s leading slogan. Tupac Amaru never said this; Velasco’s speechwriters invented it. In the 1960s and 1970s, and above all during the Velasco period, Tupac Amaru became a leading figure in Peruvian history. The question of his role in the war of independence continues to animate historians and others. Some follow Velasco’s interpretation, placing Tupac Amaru as the precursor, his uprising the bloody and frustrated first step in emancipation from Spain. Critics of this position from the left point out that Tupac Amaru sought a very different venture than did the liberators of the 1810s and 1820s and cannot simply be placed at the beginning of the list. Conservative critics, uncomfortable with indigenous revolutionaries, prefer to highlight the coastal-based revolts beginning in 1815. Although these debates continue, particularly now that Peru is heading towards its bicentennial in 2021, what is clear is that Tupac Amaru has become a national and international icon. In some regards, the ambiguity about what the rebellion sought and Tupac Amaru’s role in Peruvian history has added to his mystique and allowed different groups to support him. Since the 1970s, Tupac Amaru has become a hero, while meaning very different things to different groups. Why Was Tupac Named Lesane Parish Crooks? Read the full article

DAILY ASTROLOGY TODAY MONTHLY Astrology of Today – Wednesday, April 12, 2017
Apr 11, 2017 by ANNIE LEAVE A COMMENT
The Moon is in Scorpio. The Moon is waning and in its Full Moon phase. The Full Moon occurred early yesterday in the sign of Libra. Mercury is retrograde (Mercury is retrograde from April 9-May 3). Venus is retrograde (Venus is retrograde from March 4-April 15). Times are EDT. Horoscopes Aries
The need to make reforms is building these days, dear Aries, as the Sun and Uranus move towards an alignment in your sign. Even with a rather intense focus on the past due to current retrograde activity, something is stirring inside you. You feel the need to change how you approach the world and perhaps how others see you as well. This is about your personal image rather than your professional one. Today is useful for forgiving others’ slights, and this can deepen a connection or bond. At the very least, it frees you up to focus on what will eventually move you forward. Productivity may not be high in a strict sense, but you’re feeling things out and learning from your experiences, and this is an important process.
Taurus
This is a good time to revitalize your spirits as well as your relationships with forward-looking energy, dear Taurus. While there is a stronger than usual focus on the past for you these days, and it’s necessary, this doesn’t preclude you from experiencing periods of hope and excitement about what the future may hold. In fact, a lot is going on under the surface of things with friends, and while these are mere stirrings at the moment, later this month, what’s building now can begin rolling forward in more visible ways. In your interactions with others today, detach yourself enough to bring some objectivity to the equation as well as to clarify what you mean (Mercury is retrograde in your sign, after all) but not so much that the intimacy of your conversation suffers.
Gemini
You can be feeling a great need for change today and tomorrow, dear Gemini. While you tend to be focused on the past, slowing down, and processing matters with the current retrogrades in focus, you are likely to experience stirrings now as you crave – or need – change in your social life. Try not to stir up trouble given the general instability of the week’s energies, but do listen to the need to break through restrictions. The Moon in your work and health sector all day points to an emotional need to get your affairs in order. You have the support of – and confidence in – your intuition when it comes to health and work today. Intuiting your next move in a business matter can figure strongly now. Generally speaking, however, keep in mind that significant new beginnings are best saved until early May.
Cancer
Your actions speak louder than words again today, dear Cancer, although perhaps you may say they are speaking more clearly. There is a general tendency to fumble when it comes to choosing the right words or expressing your feelings right now, but you are in good shape for expressing yourself through what you do for others. You are more courageous with matters of the heart, even if you’re not always saying the right things. Today, putting your faith in others can help strengthen a bond. There can be good news about a trip or educational matter. When it comes to your reputation or career, you are likely to feel some deep stirrings as the need to break out of a restrictive situation or to make a change emerges. These feelings will form more fully tomorrow.
Leo
This is a super day for paying attention and listening to inner prompts and hunches, dear Leo, and for looking at alternative ways to express yourself. The usual channels may not be working particularly well for you at the moment, but this may only serve to prompt you to get creative. You’re more likely to follow your intuition now, and it can serve you particularly well with an intimate relationship, family, domestic matters, and finances. It’s still important to avoid major new beginnings until early May, but it’s a great time for gaining an understanding of an emotional problem or dilemma. You’re also feeling a real itch to change up your usual way of thinking, or you could be experimenting with a whole new way of looking at a subject.
Virgo
The Moon moves through your communications sector today, harmonizing with Neptune in your partnership sector, dear Virgo. Certainly with Mercury retrograde right now, there can be some tendency to miscommunicate or to get things a little jumbled. However, you’re in a great position to look for different ways of expressing yourself, and you can get very creative as the usual routes may fail to satisfy. Today is good for building faith in a relationship through acceptance and appreciation. Emotions have been up and down, and now you get some opportunity to process them and heal yourself. You may also be toying with the idea of releasing a burdensome secret or for expressing yourself more authentically, without some of the usual inhibitions.
Libra
This continues to be a time of epiphanies for you, dear Libra, after a loaded Full Moon in your sign. However, life does seem to be calming down a little. You might get the courage to break out of a bad habit or situation today, particularly regarding money, dependencies, health, and work. Your tendency is to tune into the subtlest of cues, and this tends to serve you well, but watch for leaving yourself psychically wide open. Helping someone else out can take some of the focus off the problems in your life and can make you feel a whole lot better. You may gravitate intuitively to the solution for a practical problem today. Stirrings in a close relationship or inside you regarding relationship needs can figure strongly now.
Scorpio
The Moon is in your sign all day, dear Scorpio, and you may feel that you’re back in the driver’s seat for now. You have more work to do on your relationships, and you’re inclined to jump to help out others today, but there’s a real need now to remind yourself of what you can do. While there has been quite a bit of focus on the past, and necessarily so, you are feeling some stirrings and a slight sense of excitement and forward movement now. This will form more precisely tomorrow, but it does still feel good today, as you have the sense that if you put your faith in the universe, things will work out. The best use of the day’s energies is to avoid pushing things into being. Look for ways to inspire a loved one or open yourself up to the possibility of someone awakening a new perspective in you. Your perceptive, understanding personality is appreciated now.
Sagittarius
This is a day for following your intuition, dear Sagittarius, and for letting certain things flow without attempting to push them into being. The Moon is in your privacy sector all day, and you have a real sense that you should rest or sleep more or stay in the background and catch your breath. The Moon’s harmony with Neptune reinforces the need to draw upon faith that things will fall into place for you. Of course, there are many things you can do to help this happen, but it’s important now to give yourself a little break. Your direction may still feel a little elusive, but you have a sense that things will change for the better. Art and music can have a special appeal today and can be used most effectively to calm yourself down. Efforts to help out others can be healing and rewarding.
Capricorn
Mercury and Venus are both retrograde, dear Capricorn, and you’re still near a retrograde station of your ruler, Saturn, making it particularly important that you avoid brand new beginnings and situations in which you may be misunderstood. However, this doesn’t mean that you aren’t making advances. In fact, your creative detours from the normal routes for self-expression can take you to great places. There can be bonding moments or heartwarming experiences with friends, networks, and associates now. In-person activities tend to fare best now, largely because your body language and actions are clearer than the words you may choose to express yourself.
Aquarius
You might choose today for letting go of pressures, taking part in healing activities or thinking healing thoughts, and placing your faith in this more laid-back approach to your life, dear Aquarius. While the Moon at the top of your solar chart does incline you to pay closer attention to your reputation, image, and obligations, you’re in a good position to get things done in a more relaxed, faithful way than usual. Fine-tuning plans is better than drawing up all-new drafts, but that’s just fine right now – in fact, you’re tuning into the right details quite intuitively and making useful creative flourishes. You may catch a good buy or make a great find today.
Pisces
You’re best off letting your imagination and intuition work for you today, dear Pisces, and to avoid overly confining situations and activities, if possible. For one, the Moon in your freedom-seeking solar ninth house all day reaches out to Neptune in your sign, encouraging you to release some recent pressures and go with the flow or follow intuitive hunches and spontaneous whims. The Sun and Uranus are aligned in declination, and this influence can rebel against tradition and routine. Mercury and Venus are retrograde, but you are still expressing yourself charmingly – it’s in your body language and your actions.

Date & Time: Apr 12 2017 12:46 pm Event: Tr-Tr Sun Pll Ura Description: Transiting Sun Parallel Transiting Uranus
Strong Signs, Elements, Modes ARIES STRONG Initiating, pioneering energy. Independent, bold, courageous, assertive, fiery, inspirational, direct, decisive. Can be egotistical, impulsive, impatient, aggressive, lacking subtlety. TAURUS STRONG Stable and enduring, strong values, unyielding, earthy, acquisitive, strong desires. Can be stuck, stubborn, overly possessive, self-indulgent. SCORPIO STRONG Intense, magnetic, penetrating perception, power to confront. Can be destructive, vengeful, jealous, overly dramatic. PISCES STRONG Compassionate, sensitive, self-sacrificing, gentle, intuitive. Can be escapist, impractical, hyper- sensitive, gullible.
BALANCE OF ELEMENTS
AIR WEAK We may have a difficult time being objective or detached. We may not be especially communicative.
BALANCE OF MODES
The modes are balanced.
LUNAR PHASE: FULL MOON Moon 180 to 135 degrees behind the Sun. We are concerned mainly with the nature of relationships and are made aware of recent imbalances. Something can come to fruition. Our concern is not limited to personal relationships, but relationships of all kinds. Our cards are on the table.
The following aspects (major only) and positions are at noon (EDT) on April 12th: Note that when an aspect is applying, it has not yet happened but is within orb – it’s pending. When an aspect is separating, it has already happened/perfected and is moving away from the aspect. Depending on the speed of the planet/body involved, the aspect will have perfected, or will perfect, in a matter of hours (often the case with the Moon), days, months, and possibly years in the case of the very slow-moving outer planets and bodies.
Note that the Moon moves at a rate of approximately one degree every 2 hours, so that if an aspect involving the Moon is applying and has an orb of 5 degrees, the aspect will perfect (be exact) in about 10 hours. If the Moon is separating from an aspect with an orb of 2 degrees, it has already formed said aspect approximately 4 hours ago (since the following are positions at noon today, then it would have occurred at about 8 AM today).
**I suggest paying close attention to applying  aspects. The energy of the aspect builds as it gets closer to exact. Once an aspect involving inner planets has happened, it’s over.  Separating aspects are good to know for context, but in terms of energy that is with us today, applying aspects are most important. (This is the case for daily astrology influences involving inner planets, which pass quickly, and not natal astrology aspects, which are with us for a lifetime).
