hi! firstly, i wanted to thank you for your blog :) its actually gotten me into ttrpgs and you run a great service! secondly! im in the market for a two player ttprg for people who… haven't exactly played ttrpgs ever before! we both like the genres horror and comedy. as for mechanics, we love character creation and coming up with lore / improv on the fly! any games that fit this would be great. thank you so much, mint!
THEME: Duet Games for Beginners
Hello, and thank you so much for your message! Welcome to the hobby, there’s oodles of fantastic games out there and I’m glad that you find my posts helpful. Let’s get started, shall we?
First of all, I’m also going to shout out @jeffstormer 's Party of One podcast, which was my jumping off point for looking for 2-player games that would work for you. I heavily recommend checking him out, as he has years of experience playing (and running) games for two, regardless of whether they’re designed to be played that way.
Second of all, I tried to recommend games that either come with a lot of tools or that are pretty short, because I wanted to give you options that either really guide you through the process or don't overwhelm you with instructions. Your mileage may vary, but I hope something here stands out!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dead Friend: A Game of Necromancy, by Ghostly Rituals.
Dead Friend is a roleplaying game for a necromancer and a ghost. That is, it's a collaborative storytelling game for two players. You will each play the role of a friend, one living and one dead. You will ask and answer questions to develop the characters, their community, their history together, and the motivations leading up to their final conflict.
The script follows the dramatic structure of a necromancy ritual, and you will use the spellbook of instructions throughout the entire game like a witch reading spells from an ancient grimoire. The mood may be spooky or intimate, heartwrenching or hilarious — it is up to you as storytellers. Dead Friend requires 1 Tarot deck or 1 deck of mundane playing cards.
I think this game looks like a good combination of horror and comedy, as it carries horrific tones but allows you to choose the mood. You’ll be answering question prompts throughout the game using tarot cards, so this is another excellent method of creating lore as you play. This game has an actual play episode of it with Jeff Stormer and Dani Costello that you can listen to if you want an example of play as well!
Standoff, by Matthew R.F. Baloušek.
The necromancer shrieks with cruel laughter, plunging the glowing dagger into the warrior's heart. "Fool! All your struggle was for naught. Your soul will be but a tasty morsel for my dark master!"
He starts to pull the dagger out, but finds his wrist stopped cold by Francesca's iron grip. She stares back with an icy glare. A glint of light catches the necromancer's eye, and he looks down to see the talisman of protection.
Wresting the dagger from the necromancer's cold hands, Francesca grins. "I hid all my vital organs in a pocket dimension!" Taking a free hand to dip a finger in what appeared to be blood, she tastes it and chortles. "You wasted the ichor of Ag'tekk on nothing more than a large ketchup packet!"
Standoff is a game where everyone works together to tell a ridiculous story full of twists, ripostes, counter-feints, and triple-double-crosses.
This is a chance to take turns one-upping each-other in a world of your own design. You’ll need a number of index cards in order to write down what you introduce to the world, but little else. What I appreciate about this game is the structure it provides - I find that structured sections and examples help new players get used to coming up with pieces as they go.
This is improv comedy at its finest - and it can also play with a larger group! There aren’t specific characters assigned to each player, but if you want to take more responsibility for either the Protagonist or the Antagonist then you should still be able to do that. This game looks exceptional, and I hope you check it out!
What’s A Vapourwave, by fen slattery.
A two-player, 200 word RPG about explaining vaporwave to your grandpa. Based on a true story.
One player is Casey, who kinda knows what vaporwave is. Another is Grandpa, who loves Casey and wants to understand their life. Played via text message.
This is a simple game that can be played via text message that navigates a humorous attempt at a grandfather doing his best to understand his grandchild. I love the aesthetic of this game, and I can see how easy it is to let the conversation within this game devolve into hilarity.
Heart Full of Trash, by StarshineScribbles.
Heart Full Of Trash is a  2-player roleplaying game where you play as raccoons on a date!
Sort your recycling as you create your characters and tell the story of their romantic endeavours. Will your date be a triumph or will your raccoons develop a deep and long-lasting friendship?
Either way, by the time the game is over, your recycling will be sorted and ready for correct disposal.
This is an adorably cute game that leans much closer to the comedy side of your request. The two of you will actually sort your recycling as you role-play - so since you’re using something you already have in your house, you don’t need to go and buy any extra gaming materials! This game is a bit closer to an improve game as well, so it might be a good introduction for someone who is less familiar with traditional character sheets and rolling dice.
You’re in Space and Everything’s Fucked, by Nevyn Holmes.
You’re in Space and Everything’s Fucked is a love letter to sci-fi cosmic horror and gore-filled splatter films.
You're In Space And Everything's Fucked emulates the trappings of isolation space horror video games through the lens of a tabletop role-playing game and is inspired by similarly fucked-up situations found in the Dead Space, System Shock, and Alien franchises.
The Station takes on the role of monsters and setting; generating both as the Struggler explores. They take a bird's-eye-view of the story and throw obstacles and objectives at the Struggler.
The Struggler fills the boots of the hapless sap that ended up in this situation. They scavenge, sneak, and generally work to survive by any means necessary in the face of horrifying creatures and untrustworthy NPCs.
The Demo version of this game is designed for two players, although it looks like the Kickstarter that Dinoberry Press ran back in March is for a bigger game down the road. The game includes a character creation section, a hint of map generation, and a handful of generated Boss Monsters! Because you generate the map as you go, I think this gives you a chance to come up with lore as you go. If you want chilling horror and a constant struggle for survival, this is the game for you.

this trope's got a little kick to it, sleepover event ;
one    intro in celebration of the upcoming new year & the fact that i desperately want to give you all the content you crave, i am hosting an impromptu sleepover event that closes on jan. 1!!!
two    about this event tropes are so fun & i have so many faves. considering the fact that you follow my blog and (im assuming here) that you enjoy my writing, i figured that you all would have similar preferences as me. but, doing "enemies to lovers", "friends to lovers", "oh no there's only one bed", etc. seems too plain and simple. we are doing oddly specific tropes that wttcsms pulled out of her ass and thought "this sounds like a good pairing"
three    how to participate — choose a trope from the list — choose a character from any of these fandoms: hq, bnha, aot, jjk, blue lock, cod — send me an ask with the character & trope, and get ready to receive your drabble x
four    tropes — "i bet on losing dogs" x the losing dog — the closed wound x the bleeding heart — on a road trip with your ex — ghost who needs help passing to the afterlife x reluctant person who does not want to help but is currently cursed and helping this ghost is the only way to lift it — knife to the throat but the blade can't seem to cut this weird sexual tension we've got going on — ex-thief trying to live a straight & narrow life x their original partner who drags them back in for one big heist — getting person a to do something ridiculous because they owe person b a favor — when person a realizes they're in love with person b, but instead of it being cute and generating butterflies, their internal monologue is disgust and shame — person a who thinks person b is in love with them and p.a. tries to actively avoid p.b. because they think they're trying to confess their love, but p.b. keeps trying to get them alone to explain that it's not p.a. they like, but p.a.'s best friend — wrong number, right person — royal who thinks they're picking a safe option as their betrothed x the betrothed who is actually an undercover spy working for the very kingdom that wants to kill the royal — drunken confessions — party game that results in the beginning of a relationship — kissing as a distraction to avoid being caught — the invisible string theory (or: 5 times you almost met each other + the 1 time you do) — sunshine x midnight rain — when the rebound is your ex's brother — grumpy tenured professor x new, sunshine-y associate professor — womanizer x maneater — love story told in untraditional format (ex: voicemails, email exchanges, hinge dms, twitter beef, etc.)
five    current requests — on a road trip with your ex, megumi fushiguro — womanizer x maneater, satoru gojo — grumpy prof x sunshine prof, naoya zenin — when ur royal betrothed is ur backstabber, katsuki bakugo — rebound is ex's brother, eren yeager — sunshine x midnight rain, toji fushiguro — party game, shinsuke kita — kissing as a distraction, levi ackerman — shame over the realization you love him, satoru gojo — knife to the throat, megumi fushiguro — closed wound x bleeding heart, yuuji itadori — when ur royal betrothed is ur backstabber, kento nanami — i bet on losing dogs x the losing dog, kento nanami — wrong number, right person, hajime iwaizumi — i bet on losing dogs x the losing dog, armin arlert — love story told in untraditional format, dabi — when ur royal betrothed is ur backstabber, tooru oikawa — invisible string theory, kiyoomi sakusa — drunken confessions, hiromi higuruma — womanizer x maneater, michael kaiser — closed wound x bleeding heart, simon riley

hey, i’ve read some of your writing and i really like it. do you have any tips?
aw dude that's really sweet. i'm really self conscious about everything i write so i appreciate hearing that. i'm still learning myself, so my advice is probably gonna be kind of obvious yet nebulous (much like my writing). oh and im not great at following my own advice, but we can ignore that.
first and foremost i'd say try to have fun. get weird with it. don't stress too much about it. it's supposed to be an enjoyable pastime, so write what YOU like, how you like. the "rules" of grammar and composition are helpful, but you're allowed to be a lot more lax with creative writing. i know i am 👀
in my humble opinion, you can never have too many details, even- or especially- oddly specific ones. personal experiences are a great way to inject some minutiae, and i enjoy the insight they provide into the author's perspective, background, thought process, etc.. there are infinite other tools at your disposal too. like the number of times i've found myself browsing ancient, niche forums just to confirm one insignificant bit of information is ridiculous.
don't be afraid to take your story as seriously or unseriously as you want. sometimes i'll be snapped out of focus with the thought of "am i really writing this rn" 😂 but i just try to remind myself that i'm (usually) having fun, i'm not hurting anyone and someone might even enjoy the final product.
for eene, try to listen to the voice acting as much as you watch the animation. and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone when writing a character. i'm neither comfortable, nor very good at writing for ed, but i nutted up and gave it a shot recently and yeah it's nuclear level cringe but i suppose it can't get any worse, right? RIGHT???.... i love learning new words, so when i'm writing for edd (and in general) you know i keep that thesaurus tab open. with eddy, there's always room for more irreverence. i'm also one of those people that cannot help but drop almost every g when i write eddy. and it's just as important to get their idiolects down, which can be tricky. BUT that's mostly if your goal is to stay close to the source material, which is definitely not necessary. i'm just not a very creative person 😂
if you're in a rut, skip to another section, or hell even another chapter. the fic i'm working on rn was hatched from a simple premise several months ago, so i started at the end and have been building on that. an unconventional starting point can be really helpful when you're struggling to start at all. because i'm me, it's turned into a nightmare beast that i can't seem to contain, but i still have a general idea of where we're going and we'll get there eventually lmfao. to that point, outlines, bullet points, notes, etc. are all very useful.
take breaks, let her sit for a while. i'll write a whole bunch, leave, come back to review and be like girl what the hell is this. fresh eyes make a big difference! however, don't be like me and get too caught up in the weeds. i make compulsive little tweaks of my shit up to the point and even after i hit post. more often than not, it's more stress than it's worth. i just can't help it 🥴
and then of course, read other people's stuff. i'm not much of a fiction reader but i make exceptions for the sake of my hyper-fixation. it truly does help to see different perspectives and styles of writing. everyone has a unique voice that really comes through in creative writing, which i love. i've gleaned a lot from reading other people's work as well. i frequently come across new and creative ideas for changing up sentence structure, dialogue tags and narration by reading stuff from fellow fans.
aaaaaand yeah idk what else really. like i said, i'm not the best at writing but i think as long as you're getting your ideas across in the way that you want to, you're golden. anyone who makes shitty remarks about someone else's writing can sit and spin honestly.

Do you have multiple books in progress concurrently, and read them all one chapter at a time??? This is unimaginable to me.
well, not ALWAYS, but...uh.....yeah, when i wanna really have fun then yes, the way that i read books is best described as "ridiculous," "overcomplicated," and "absurd". i love it.
it usually starts out with like one book but then i start reading another one and then another book catches my eye etc etc and eventually i wind up with a stack of like six books at once (i try not to go over six, because then it'd take me multiple months to get through them all). my current stack of books that i'm reading are in the pic:
Tumblr media
[image description: a stack of mostly library books on op's tv shelf. they are, as follows: "The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer" by Siddhartha Mukherjee, "Let Me Tell You," a collection of short stories and essays by Shirley Jackson, "Babel" by R.F. Kuang, "The Well of Sacrifice" by Chris Eboch, and "The Amulet of Samarkand" by Jonathan Stroud.]
and what i do is i read a chapter of the top book and i stick it on the bottom of the stack and the next time im ready to read - might immediately or it might be after a chore or it might be the next day - i read a chapter from the next book on the stack. then i stick it on the bottom and the cycle continues. now, because not all of the books have the same number of chapters, of course, i'll finish some of them before others. in my current stack "The Well of Sacrifice", the second one from the bottom in the pic, is the one i'm closest to being done with. when i finish it i'll put a new book in its spot in the order - not on the very top, not on the very bottom - because that would be 'cheating' and trying to skew the odds to make one book finish quicker than the others. unless the book is REALLY good, i don't stop and finish it all at once; i finish them when i finish them. how do i not lose track of books like this you ask? i don't know, my mom used to ask me the same thing when i picked out ten books from the school library at once in fifth grade; i just never have. all the books are about very different things. why would i get them confused? don't you get bored with a book sometimes? of course. that's why there's the stack. if a book is really dull, i only have to read a chapter of it before i can switch things up, but being able to do that keeps me motivated to finish even the boring books. AND if a book is really, really exciting, the stack makes me pace myself so i don't fuck up my sleep schedule or lose track of time for hours reading. i love my stack and i love to sort and yes, i am most very probably autistic

i have,,,, a few thoughts about the new discord layout, and im sure you guys do too. i think it is borderline unusable, it is not “intuitive” and “streamlined” or whatever the fuck, and i’m genuinely really angry about it. if you guys AT ALL feel similarly, please send discord some feedback. i just sent some (i will attach my veritable essay of a response after this) and i NEVER do that. i can count the number of times i’ve sent feedback on one hand. but i’m angry, and i feel like it will help, so i did.
verbatim what i sent:
“THIS IS NOT JUST ABOUT AESTHETICS, THAT WAS JUST THE ONE THAT FELT RIGHT.
it doesn’t look like discord anymore, it looks like something else and it’s making me not want to use discord on mobile at all. i downloaded discord on mobile so that i could have something that worked the same as on computer, just smaller. and now it’s gone, the new layout is stressful, the stupid swipe to reply thing got rid of a whole entire facet of how i use discord, and the fact that you CANT CHANGE IT BACK is absolutely ridiculous. at least be smart about it and have the option there and collect data around who does and does not want to use it. additionally, having all the navigation buttons at the bottom was a stupid choice. they were fine where they were. and dms feels like it’s another platform entirely and i dont like it. also i heard from a friend that the “midnight” theme was already already a thing on android? so trying to pass it off as something new is disingenuous to say the least.
another problem is with the pins. the old way of organizing them was good! in this one, you can’t see images, and in dms it doesn’t differentiate between who sent what message. bad design.
ALSO also, the message search/ selecting pins is broken (if it’s on purpose it’s just *bad*). why does it take you to another…. tab, basically, of the same messages? and why whenever you hit the back arrow (even in settings, once, to get out of a section) does it take you all the way back to the main messaging area???
i’m so sorry to whoever has to read this ridiculously long complaint, but you guys fucked up your own site. it is borderline unusable. please do not change the computer version of discord, because i will have to leave for my own sanity and i don’t want to do that. i genuinely love discord but the change is (in the words of a blog i follow) worse than tumblr rolling out tumblr live. and look how much people hated that one.”
and i sent a second bit because i forgot about the stupid ass swiping/reply thing:
“the swiping to reply is redundant, and not being able to see all of the people you’re talking to feels isolating and i can already feel disconnected from the community in some of the larger servers i am in”

Can i ask whats going on with the actors of gap the series? Or rather the "fandom"? Im not that 100% invested but i follow them on instagram and suddenly theres all sorts of negative comments. Is it because one of them has a boyfriend now? Why the fuck do people ship real life humans, theyre ACTORS, i thought we left the problematic real life people shipping in 2012
Sorry if this is random lmao just wondering
Sorry this took me a few days to get to.
So basically, Freen and Becky have always been really close. They're cute and flirty and sweet in interviews, and pose like a couple in photoshoots sometimes. A lot of people shipped them together. Rabidly. Recently, an individual stalked Freen and recorded her in her home where she was with her boyfriend. Apparently, this person caught footage of them kissing. And it got out. And everyone who had shipped them freaked out.
People bashed Freen, blamed her and both of the women for everything between queerbaiting, deceiving, betraying, and lying to them. A lot of Becky stans turned on Freen and said she broke Becky's heart, as though Freen had led Becky on and hurt her. IDF made Freen go on camera and apologize to her fans. I was too disgusted to watch, so I don't know everything they made her say.
The entire situation is ridiculous. If anyone pushed the "they're dating" narrative, it was IDF. But from what I've seen that's common in Thai shows. Not saying it's right, but it's common. Becky and Freen and Gap the Series just happened to get HUGE and built up a big following. To an extent, yes, Becky and Freen went with it. But it was a part of their job. They were promoting their show. A lot of people think this whole thing is new and different, but it's not. It's happened all over with all different ships. Again, not right, but it's a part of promoting these ships/shows.
I already made a long post about this, so I won't get too preachy, but to call the ladies manipulators or liars is wrong. To call it queerbating is even more wrong, and fans these days don't understand that term at all. Becky and Freen were just doing their jobs, whatever was in their contracts, and they were being friends. I think most women/girls have had/have that one friendship with another female that's especially close. It just happens.
So yeah. People found out Freen has a personal life outside of Becky, and they went crazy. It's unhealthy really. And it's why you don't ship real people. For me, I make the exception for RL couples that are together. And at that, not often. Like..my fave and her husband. But I'm not rabid about it.
I don't know. I'm still so annoyed and sad for Freen. She has opened up about anxiety and panic attacks, and none of this can be good for her. Luckily, there are still a large number of fans supporting her through this. But, that's what happened. Whether this will affect them in another project together or not, we will see. I could see them starting to put some distance between them to keep the rabids at bay. Or, they won't care, they'll still fulfill their contracts, and keep on keeping on. We shall see.

unsolicited headcanon questions - What is Jamie's social media presence like? What's he like for controversies or hot takes? Has he ever done anything/said anything that went viral or got meme'd?
i love an unsolicited headcanon question so thank you for sending me this !! :')
so jamie's very active on social media. like to the point that he needs to shut the fuck up sometimes. his twitter is his most frequently used platform - he's just @ jamietartt he'll respond to all of richmond's tweets - he's got their post notifications on - and all of the premier league's tweets about him and his teammates. he also responds regularly to the three lions twitter account. but outside of football and #coygh and richmond til we die!s, it's seriously nonsense. he runs polls to see his followers' takes on things, and he's always like there is a right answer. he overuses emojis. at 2 am he'll tweet like @ PaddyOGara if you were a dog what type of dog would you be and @ IsaacMcAdoo how many eggs do you think you could eat in one sitting maximum not on average absolute maximum number of eggs pls respond quickly this is important his instagram (also @ jamietartt) is.... what you think his instagram would be. lots of pictures of him on match days, in richmond reds, blues, and yellows. lots of pictures of him hanging off of his teammates. lots of instagram stories during celebrations in the dressing room and afterwards when they're out clubbing. but it's also full of ego-stroking shirtless pictures and gym selfies where his shirts are matted to his body with sweat. he does amas more frequently than he should. keeley has to work overtime with him sometimes tbh. his tiktok (also.... @ jamietartt) is all behind the scenes with richmond/the three lions content. colin sleeping on the bus. moe having a very intense conversation with the new greyhound mascot. them actually seeing how many eggs isaac could eat in one sitting. and occasionally he just shows off his footwork on there because he likes to brag and he likes praise (canonically lmao)
his biggest controversy is, obviously, fucking off from city two weeks into their season to do lust conquers all. he still gets questions about that, still gets people who don't take him seriously as a footballer because of that. but, aside from lust, the next biggest controversy was that one time he was pictured outside of a club in london with a cigarette between his fingers. it was keeley's, and he was just holding it for her - he's never actually smoked in his life, because he takes his health seriously - but it was on a bunch of tabloids front pages the next day. he didn't make a statement. he doesn't get asked about that as much anymore, but it wouldn't surprise me if opposing team's players ask him if he want one as a cruel sort of joke if they run across each other out clubbing or something
his hot takes are mostly just like. "i think kent was a better player than beckham ever was" and he likes to start fights about that but he does fully 100% believe his own opinion when he says stuff like that. there are loads of comments on our irl tiktok that's like "he (jamie) thinks he's ronaldo" and when jamie's drunk he needs someone to stop him from replying on his main account like "no. i think i'm better than him."
as for going viral i like to think the moment he said that he and beard aren't having sex definitely still circulates on richmond twt, plus him and roy headbutting and hugging after their promotion, plus there's discussion about whatever roy said when he hugged jamie after jamie left the pitch in mom city. usfw mention in this paragraph don't read this if you don't want that // there's also the canon fact that he gets half-hard when he does particularly well on the pitch..... people Are Looking that's all im gonna say
he also just. like. says silly things if any of the lads catch him on camera saying something ridiculous it'll probably go viral on richmond twt if not further internet spheres than just richmond ygm?
tldr he's an absolute menace on the internet and somebody should probably change his passwords half the time but he's super good at fan engagement and he's doing his best to stop starting fights with strangers about himself/his teammates

The first Twilight movie is great for what it was idc what everyone else says. It was fun, the soundtrack was amazing, the blue tint was everything. Everyone looked so good, the make up was on point. It was also ridiculous but in an endearing way. It had indie vibes and the lowest budget, but it was the best one. It practically started the trend of YA adaptations. Catherine Hardwicke should have been the one to direct the rest of the movies.
Jacob wasn't even funny while dissing The kissing booth. Went straight to hating without even adding a bit of charm to his comments 😂
it was really fucked up that the studio's just fired her when they saw how much money the first movie made and then replaced her with male directors. (them trying to get sophia coppola for like, clout---glad it never happened. she wouldnt have been suited for it bc as she said herself, she 'didn't get it'.) the most iconic thing about the twilight saga was the first movie. you watch the others that followed and they don't hit the mark quite right. new moon i liked, i wont lie about that. but i think Hardwicke would have really done more with the whole romeo and juliet thing. worst movie is eclipse imo.
catherine started the trend and she does not get enough credit for it. she had a vision and then everyone followed suit with the trend.
i dont have a problem with actors complaining about previous jobs, i think we should all be allowed to hate on our jobs with no consequences, but as u said, he wasnt even funny about it. when pattinson spoke of his distaste, he came off self deprecating. but also, im light on pattinson hating twilight in the past bc the twilight-beatles like mania was insane. older female fans were really like, intense and weird towards him and lautner. there was a reason why he was annoyed by it. he's since recanted that now that time has passed.
no offense to elvis #2, but kissing booth movies did not elicit that kind of attention, so i dont know why he's complaining. they're netflix movies, they're no number 1 box office hit(s) twilight saga.

So as I said I would like to make a post as to why I’m thinking about deleting this account before like I said I was dead set on it but now I’m not sure but here are a few reasons for why I’m contemplating it
Number one Im really wishy washy one moment I’ll be so confident in a plot or a story but as I post it I feel like it’s not good enough or I could have done better than I start getting these irrational thoughts like it’s bad or embarrassing and finally I get to the point where I stop writing (hints my 40 drafts)
Another reason is feeling like I have to rush something out even though no one demands me to write and post for some reason I feel obligated or I’m gonna lose readers if I don’t like I said I know I’m the only one that feels that way buts it’s a big hindering point for me
Something else is when I don’t get many comments or asks I feel unimportant like I put a lot of time work and effort for little feedback which is once again all in my head cause you all are literally the best and even if I had just one follower that enjoyed my writing I’d continue for them cause the joy I feel when someone tells me that my writing makes their day is immeasurable
Also I really don’t have any friends on here like there’s no one that I talk to or have connected with and that plays into another on of my problems is that it may seem stupid but I miss my older readers not saying I don’t like my new followers just as much but it’s different when you kinda get to know someone and then they’re are just gone which also makes me feel like a hypocrite cause I’m literally thinking about leaving
Anyways it all sounds really ridiculous if you think about it I mean I just made this account to write but I didn’t know what others things I’d encounter here but the best way I can describe it is I feel lonely and I think that was one of the main reasons for my lack of motivation but I can’t blame anyone cause you all have lives going on and they don’t stop just cause someone posts a fic on tumblr
So those are the more app base problems that I have but as for life in general it’s been really tough all around when I made this account I was only part time but as months went by people from my job quit so I was able to pick up more hours and more hours means more money now typically forty hour jobs are the norm but for me it’s been really tough cause I got hired in October (the day before heeseung’s birthday lol hehe anyways) and my immune system is very weak so I was shifting between first and third shift till October so you could imagine what that was like and it’s still not that much better because of this I don’t eat on proper schedule cause I get home and im so tired I just fall asleep and miss dinner leaving only one meal a day which is lunch with all that being said I’ve lost a significant amount of weight and energy overall so I think that also has a lot to do with my mental status I’ve really just been completely out of it today I was just on auto pilot and it felt terrible cause I had no control over how I feel
I have a lot of emotional stress and family issues that are really bad but I will not talk about that here I typically take out my stress by working and doing things which is the worst way to cope cause my body can not take all the stress I endure nor my mind I’ll usually workout or work extra hard and push myself beyond the limit cause somehow that makes me feel hopeful and motivated to not give up it’s weird but it works
It’s also weird to talk about this here but I feel everyone deserves an explanation for why I feel like leaving
A big problem of mine I’m a huge people pleaser like to an extent that’s almost troubling so I always try my best to accommodate everyone and guess who that leaves on the back burner
Me
And that’s a big problem cause I should always put myself first but I didn’t as I stated before I wrote two of my favorite stories “popcorn” and “angel” angel took ten hours while popcorn took about seven “train ride home” also falls into the category of works I made in just one day I was so excited to post them for everyone hoping it would get a good response and to please my readers at the expanse of me using my whole day off just to write one fic
Overworking has been my downfall since I can remember like I mentioned some time ago I work till the point of satisfaction I push myself to the limit to test myself even if I know I can do it I still have to put my body under some type of physical pain until I’m satisfied an example of this would be a few years ago I used to do sprinting I still do just not as often but I was so driven to beat my previous record that I was out till midnight I ran the same course too many times to count so many times I gave myself a cramp and still kept going I didn’t stop until I beat my record with a cramp and all
This leads me to my stubbornness I just can’t stop even with writers block I continually try to write stories that’s why I didn’t feel like taking a break was an option cause if I know myself I’d just go back and back time and time again in the past I mentioned taking breaks but I never really did I just didn’t post for awhile behind the scenes I was still in fact writing
After awhile I think the positive feedback really kept me wanting to post something about the notifications was almost like an addiction so I kept posting and posting till I eventually went through everything all my plots and idea’s poof gone but I still wanted to please everyone so I continued to post even when I felt it was sub par
I only have a few works I’m proud of but I still beat myself up cause they could have been better overall it’s just I don’t know how to explain it or what’s going on it even feels strange to me one minute I’m up next minute I’m down I think there’s a lot of things to attribute this to such as my lifestyle and just getting older but who really knows
Ultimately the biggest reason is I just feel like I’m not good enough I think that’s what it really boils down to unfortunately I know I’m way too hard on myself and it’s really not this deep but I can’t help it I wanted to share this with everyone to let you know that I really tried my best
And when my best isn’t good enough I can’t help but feel disappointed with myself I’m a perfectionist as well so that doesn’t help my situation in conclusion I’m having a mental battle with myself I think if I can get in tune with my body and mind I could come back stronger and better but as of right now that’s going to take all my effort I am currently working on all these problems I mentioned
Even though it was very tough for me to share my mind with the world it has also been healing and a great experience at times I’m glad there’s a platform for like minded people to meet without any judgement and hostility I’m greatful to everyone who has followed my tumblr journey all I can say is I love you all🤎
Sincerely your hee simp president

i watched smile and wrote down my live reaction if anyone cares lol. long story short it was better than i thought it would be, the death/spooky effects were fun but it was kinda heavy handed with the mental health commentary
i went into this thinking it would be funny bad but. goddammit. ok i liked the opening.
the fucking back and forth shots of the main lady and the college girl’s faces, it set me up!!
then when it showed college girl had gotten up. idk man something about how empty and sterile the office is wigged me out even more.
and her cutting her neck was neato
at the title card now and alright goddamn it didn’t have to flash like that yeesh
oh also it sounds like this is just gonna be it follows but with suicide instead of sex
lord they’re trying to do mental health commentary. great.
ugh if i end up liking this movie i’m gonna be embarrassed
that cat’s dead. and nooo i don’t know that because i checked doesthedogdie.com
i was hoping the cat would smile lmao
WAIT THE BOYFRIEND
WHO IS HE
SLKJFLKSDF IT’S A-TRAIN
i’ve decided this takes place in The Boys universe
sorry i got so distracted by a-train that i forgot to say that main lady seeing the dead girl in the dimly lit kitchen did freak me out.
we’re back to the mental health commentary.
why does the cat have such a big fucking bowl
Young cop(?) dude gives me the creeps.
Haha sassy black coworker!! very funny and cool el oh el
ooooo i liked her passing the rooms and having to backtrack
bro is vibing stop snapping
im so sorry but this carl actor has a really silly voice
i feel like this boss also looks familiar
oh he was in designated survivor ok
actually i’ve been kinda constipated so maybe if i watch this on the toilet i’ll shit myself and finally be free
jesus this lady just can’t stop breaking glasses
none of this would’ve happened if you just KEPT YOUR HOUSE WELL LIT
WAIT STOP EVERYTHING
YOUNG COP CREEP IS THE EMO GUY FROM JENNIFER’S BODY
wow what a cast
i sorta missed the whole bit where she listened to the recording and heard stuff, i was unclogging my toilet
main lady and blonde bitch are sisters?? wow that went straight over my head until now. i knew they had to be related in some way? but i kinda thought the husband and the main lady were siblings
dead cat moment
love that they felt the need to clarify it was her cat lmao
when the boy picked it up it looked like really bad cgi
DAMN
TABLE SLAM KO
yeah babe sometimes you just gotta yell it out
SLKDFJLS THE PAIN ASSESSMENT CHART
im sorry… mental health preachy message aside, are you telling me the fiance had to look up the fact that mental illness can be hereditary??
for some reason i feel like the main character’s spiral happened way too fast
but to be fair i guess she does have that trauma with her mom, so maybe even though she works in healthcare she’d still be more susceptible to this line of thinking?
the number of times they say “crazy” in this movie is getting ridiculous
love a good smashed in head, i appreciate they didn’t add a loud noise with it considering the amount of jumpscares in this fucking thing
thank god horrible events always happen to artists so we can have ooky spooky drawings
these “coincidences” are so obviously connected it’s ludicrous that literally nobody noticed until now
I mean cops being inept is nothing new i guess
main character is being? unbelievably unreasonable here?? yes, calling a mental health professional is what you’re SUPPOSED to do when someone around you starts acting like this
i thought one of the whole points of this smile demon thing was that it could look like anyone? they haven’t really been utilizing that as much as i assumed they would which is a bummer
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO
loved that moment with the sister at the car
it is kinda neat that the death has to be super dramatic so it inflicts as much trauma as possible
but also couldn’t you just do something traumatic that doesn’t involve murder or suicide?
like pretend you murdered someone or killed yourself in a crazy violent way in front of someone so they believe it happened, orchestrate a big practical joke
the demon voice is goofy
putting a knife that big up your sleeve seems like an atrocious idea
LMAO AWESOME DREAM
it’s like in chainsaw man. the whole door thing with denji. i’m not elaborating bc i don’t wanna spoil anyone.
the mom is kinda hot
lol i like how slowly rose closed the door
ooooooo!!!! suddenly tall mom!!!
i’m a tad disappointed with the monster design :/
HELL YEAH you thought a house fire could kill a demon?? lmaoooo
I TAKE IT BACK THE MONSTER DESIGN LOOKS RAD
rose the throat goat
hell yeah love a good person burning

Im Blue Ch12 Tsunami Incoming P2
(Looked up warning Signs for a tsunami and found the following info here. So Im going on this info.
www.getprepared.gc.ca/cnt/hzd/tsnms-bfr-en.aspx#:~:text=Early warning signs of a tsunami 1 One,occur with very little warning. More items...
One of the signs of a potential tsunami is the occurrence of a very large earthquake that lasts for more than 20 seconds. If an area has been shaken by a very large earthquake, one should be on alert that shorelines located within the radius of the earthquake's epicentre, may be hit by a tsunami.
A more immediate and ominous sign of an approaching tsunami is a rapid and unexpected recession of water levels below the expected low tide. This can occur minutes before the shoreline is struck by a tsunami and can be the only sign along coastlines that are located too far from the earthquake epicentre to have felt the shaking.)
Tumblr media
It didn't take too long for her grandmother to clean the small mess she ended up making and put away the supplies she had out before although she did feel somewhat guilty about the situation she found herself in THIS time as she just sat down there behind the register listening to nothing but the silence of the shop. It was pretty much her fault that she made the mess and she didn't even have the chance to clean it up herself before goofing up and tripping over herself once again. Her grandmother must've left over an hour ago by now after she had cleaned up the small mess and set up the tea that she didn't end up dumping all over herself and the floor, and so far absolutely nothing had happened. No customers, or calls, or anything else. Zero. Just her and her thoughts for the moment as she sat there thinking to herself...Which left her mind wondering off to things. ...Maybe-...Maybe her grandmother was right? Maybe she was just under too much stress and it's getting to her now. She had been through quite the experience a week ago and hadn't wanted to come out since since for all she knew her embarrassment could've been plastored all over the news. She had wanted to ride it out and wait for anything to die down just in case. She didn't want a repeat of-....
Of THAT again.
But...maybe she had been letting old trauma affect her so much she's overreacting and what had happened was some kind of break down of some sort? Although it certainly didn't FEEL like it. It felt more like...As dumb as it sounds...like the vibrations as if she was inside a giant maraca. Or an earthquake. But that was ridiculous. If it had really had been an earthquake of some kind her grandmother would've been able to feel it happening too. Plus everything would've fallen over. Or there would've been some kind of emergency warning issued out to everyone.....Yeah. It must've just been everything that's happened getting to her. She just needed to relax and take it easy for a bit without worrying about hiding or working to keep her mind busy. Like right now..Doing nothing...but listening to the silence of the shop as nothing happened. And she sighed as she slumped forward, placing her arms and head on the counter as she sat there. Hopefully her grandmother would get back soon and allow her to listen to TV or talk to her at least. Having even someone who'd talk about the same things with over and over again was in her opinion better than having no one around to even chat with. Maybe she should- She paused. ..An atenna perking up towards the door and her head turned even before the door opened and the small bell from the door sounded off as someone walked in.
"Good morning," a young woman's voice came. "I'm here to pick up an order I placed yesterday."
There was a pause before Blue blinked and nodded. Pushing herself up again. "OH! Um. Yes of course. Package number?"
"Number eight."
With a nod, Blue slowly slid off the stool she sat upon and reached under the counter. Her hand grazing across and feeling the cardboard boxes underneath all packed away and ready for pick up by her grandmother. Counting eight boxes from the first one on the right, her hand settled on a small box that smelt faintly of roses. "You ordered the rosebud strawberry black tea right?" She asked leaning back up and placing the box on the counter.
The woman nodded although she couldn't see it. "Yes!"
Blue smiled. Working in customer service made her aware that a smile was a requirment of this job. "Great. Will you be paying with cash or credit?"
"Cash. I don't have my card on me."
She nodded and with a moment to graze her hand over the register pushed a button to pop the drawer open. "That'll be five fifty seven please."
"I have a ten." Silently she took the apparent ten from the woman and resumed her job of going to get out the woman's change. It's a good thing her grandmother insisted she learn the ins and outs of the register as well. She'd have to thank her later. "Did you see the beach today? The hottest day of the month and barely anyone there."
"Well, it IS Monday. A lot of people are probably at work or school. Or rather spend time at home with their acs on. I know I'd rather do that than go to the beach." Other than the fact she didn't feel like being under so many watchful eyes but this woman didn't need to know that beyond small talk.
"Yeah I guess. But totes going later today, y'know when the water isn't actin' so crazy."
"Crazy huh? Guess there's some big waves."
"Nah, Girl. The low tide is like...SUPER low than what it was yesterday. Like someone just stole a whole bunch of water or something."
"Really?" Huh..That was strange, but she couldn't really comment on something that was none of her knowledge anyways. She didn't know a whole lot about the ocean's tides and behaviors scientifically despite living a few blocks from the docks and beach. Except maybe- "Doesn't that stuff usually happen with things like hurricanes?"
"Or like I a tsunami or somethin' I really dunno."
She paused. "....Excuse me. Did you say a tsunami?"
"Yeah but it's ok. There was no earthquake or anything so we should be alright."
"Oh...I see. Um. H-Here's your change, Ma'am."
"Sweet! Thanks!"
Blue ended up standing there for a long moment even after the woman left with her box and change. ....NOPE!! NO!! She shook her head. No. HECK NO!! It was all too much a coincidence anyways. There was absolutely NO possible way she could've...Nah it couldn't have been anything serious. She sighed shaking her head once again. No. It was all the stress and now she could over think things and put more stress on her mind? I think not! She was dealing with so much already and she did not need anything else added to it as it was. Besides there wasn't any earthquakes like the woman had said. Low tide was common wasn't it?.....Well then again. Her head turned to the phone. It wouldn't hurt to check would it? Her hand grabbed the phone from the desk and picked it up. Pausing for a moment...Should she really be doing this? It didn't seem like it was really needed....But she found herself dialing the non emergency hot line for the police. Another thing she was glad her grandmother had made her memorize. And sure enough the phone started ringing. Oh man what was she doing? This was stupid! Of course she would be wasting time. It wasn't even important. She was considering hanging up when a voice came through.
"Nine one one Non-Emergeny Hotline. How can I help you?," came a man's voice making her jump and nearly drop the phone.
"UH- I...Uh....Hi." .....Hi? God! She wanted to smack herself so bad for that. She must've sounded like an idiot. "Um...I don't really exactly know how to ask this." She felt like eyes were already on her despite knowing she was the only one in the shop at that very moment and she was sure she sounded so dumb over the phone. Which made the uneasy feeling in her gut increase even more. "Has there...b-been any w-warnings issued out lately?"
"Warnings? You're going to have to be specific, Ma'am."
"Haha! Oh rrriiiiight. Of c-course I had to be. Um...Any tsunami's by chance?"..God! She wanted to curl into a ball of embarrassment!! "Or...something?"
"Tsunami?"
"Uh...Y-Yeah. I-I know it sounds strange but I figured with the sudden low tide and all I thought it wouldn't hurt to check. Haha..heh..."
"....Ma'am, what area are you in?"
"Oh. Uh...I live near the Oki Docks along the south coast if that helps."
There was a pause for a moment. Blue growing more and more fidgity by the second the longer he took to answer. Until he finally did. "Ok. I'm not seeing anything come up within the database. But I'll pass word along and confirm anything."
A exhale of relief left her and she shook her head. The feeling of embarrassment leaving her body as she did so. She knew it was nothing and this only proved it. Now she just felt silly wasting someone's time like this when they had more pressing matters to be dealing with probably.
"T-Thank you, Sir. H-Have a nice day," she said before hanging up...and groaning leaning back in her chair. She REALLY needed to stop being so anxious over everything.
Everything went normally after that. Blue decided just sitting there waiting for her grandmother to come back was getting tiring so she decided to get up for just a moment to switch the radio on to listen to music at least. Her grandmother always had it handy since she said plants enjoyed music or something like that. A whole other hour or two must've passed when things started to get strange. It started with a car going by which wasn't unusual by itself and so she barely paid attention to it at all as it thundered by. Followed by another. Not unusual. Followed by a third. Still not unusual. So no attention from here. Until another came by...followed by another. And another. And another. And another. AND MORE! Until it was like the city traffic out there. Which caused her to raise a brow feeling all the vibrations of the cars as they passed by. What on earth? Where was everyone going in such a hurry? Maybe everyone decided to go back down to the beach again?? Seemed like an awful lot of people tho. Maybe someone was holding a concert down here or something-
DING!!
"AH!" Startled, her head whipped towards the door as it SLAMMED open and someone gasping for air like their life depended on it came on it their footsteps in stumbles.
"B-Blue!!," an older voiced wheezed out.
"GRANNY!!" Upon hearing the woman speak, she immediately stood up. "What's wrong?! Are you ok!?"
"NEVERMIND THAT NOW!!,'' she snapped worry evident in her voice as she started walking towards the back. Blue jumped blinking from under her bandages at the sudden harsh tone her usually kind tongued grandmother used as she made her way towards the back as fast as her older legs could carry her. "Empty the register now! And pack anything you need that's important NOW!!"
"Why!? WHAT'S GOING ON!?"
"Blue! I don't have time to argue with you! Just do as I say!"
"What's so important that we have to suddenly leave!?"
"If you REALLY must know!! There's a tsunami incoming!" With those words Blue froze, her mind having that comical glass breaking sound go off in her mind. Her grandmother hurrying about and grabbing things in a panicked frenzy muttering things worriedly under her breath. Until she stopped and looked over her shoulder at the frozen woman behind the counter. And then scowled. "For goodness sakes child! Do as I say instead of just standing there like a rock!"
"It's....It's actually happening..."
Her grandmother rose a brow at her for a moment. "What on earth are you talking about!? We really do not have time for this, the entire district's being evacuated. And we should too!"
She immediately pointed off towards the backroom. "The earthquake thing I felt back there! And then this woman said something about low tides and now a tsunami's happening!? How the heck does this always happen to me?!"
Her grandmother remained silent for a moment before inhaling. "I don't know. But right now we have to leave. Now. Empty that register and get your things! We're leaving today whether we have to walk or run out."

This Simple Little Biz Nets $1,000 a Month

This Simple Little Biz Nets $1,000 a Month
Tumblr media
Here’s a ridiculously easy business you can run from Facebook using Facebook groups. It won’t take you much time, and it can net you a tidy little profit each month.
Tumblr media
Better still, you can create as many of these as you like. Grow them big enough, and you might make far more than $1,000 a month, too.
Plus, you can either do it yourself, or outsource the work – it’s up to you.
Here’s how it works:
First, create a private Facebook group. This is going to be a free group, and you can do it for any niche where money is spent.
For example, if you’re in the IM niche, you might title your group something like:
Shortcut copywriting techniques for non-copywriters
Easy and fast SEO for non-SEO people
Latest and hottest ways to get tons of traffic to your offer
Techniques for doubling and tripling your conversions
Simple methods for building massive emails lists fast
Etc.
You can populate your groups with free WSO’s, from Facebook itself, as bonuses to other people’s products and so forth. You’re offering a tremendous benefit for free, so it’s not going to be difficult to get members to your groups.
You might even limit the number of members you take, since that will make it seem much more exclusive and valuable.
For content you’re going to do one or more of the following:
Write your own content
Hire outsourcers to write the content for you
Get guests to write your content for free
Use high quality PLR. Not junk, just the good stuff
Whatever content you use, be sure to break it down into brief daily posts.
All you need is short snippets of content, because the members will do the rest of the work for you. They’ll ask questions, respond to questions, give opinions and so forth.
Your group will take on a life of its own, which is terrific. You want to encourage as much interaction as possible to keep people coming back time and time again.
So now the big question is… How do you monetize this?
There are three ways:
First, promote your own products. You’ve got to do this in a very soft, non-pushy way. Done right, you’ll make plenty of sales without turning anyone off.
For example, you might answer someone’s question, then refer them to your product for even more info.
Second, promote other people’s products (affiliate products) using the same method.
Third, if you don’t want to sell products or you want to make even more money, you can sell advertising on the timeline.
If you think about it, you’ve got a highly targeted group of people who are super focused on this one area of interest.
Basically, you have a terrific prospect list of active, interested people.
Whether you are selling your own products, affiliate products or advertising, you’re going to make money.
Let’s talk more about getting advertisers. These advertisers would LOVE to convert your members to their deal.
Limit your ads to just one per day, and call them the “Sponsor of the Day.”
Of course, advertisers can book as many days as they like.
Post the ad in the morning and keep it as the pinned post for the rest of the day.
Charge maybe $50 to display the ad for a day, which compares favorably to solo ads.
If you sell all 30 days of the month, you’ve made $1,500.
Only allow that one ad per day, and don’t let your members post affiliate links.
How do you find advertisers? Many times your best source will be from within the group itself. You can also let your email list know about the opportunity, and you can offer your ad slots to anyone who is in your niche and has a product to sell.
I recommend starting one group and learning the in’s and out’s of running this type of business. You’ll need to invest perhaps 15 minutes each morning for adding content and answering questions, and then check back 3 or 4 times during the day.
Once you get a good feel for what you’re doing, expand to related niches and even branch out to completely unrelated niches, too.
And of course you can outsource the entire process.
While you’re not going to make a fortune from just one group, several groups can yield you a full-time income.

8 for jmart?
#8- constantly cheacking their messages for words from the other
what else was I gonna do? here's some classic ol' season 3 pining babey
Hello Martin. This is Jon. I have gotten a new phone after losing my last one, please put in the new number.
It's a simple message. Straightforward, factual, and utilitarian. There is no reason that pressing send should make his heart race. There's especially no reason that the second he sends it off, he's tempted to lie on the deeply uncomfortable, likely bedbug infested motel mattress staring at his screen until he gets a response. Sure, he's sick of being overseas, and he's sick of being so isolated, and he's sick of running, but he's not...desperate for what little companionship can even be provided by words on a screen.
He does miss Martin, though. He misses Tim as well, but in a manner that's significantly more complex and knotted than the simple desire to be around him.
God, when did he start wanting to just be around Martin? He started being aware of that want when he was at Georgie's, but he has no idea when the want itself actually started. That was probably something he should examine. Technically speaking, that is something that he has time to examine, but he doesn't want to examine right now. Right now, he wants the comfort of perhaps one of the only people out there that doesn't want to kill him, or use him, or both.
Martin, whether through somehow sensing Jon's discontent from nearly 4000 miles away or, more likely, through a general dutifulness inherent to his character, only takes a few minutes to reply. Oh good! it'd been a little bit since hearing from you, we were somewhat worried. putting you in my contacts as we speak :)!
Saying that "we" were worried is almost certainly generous on Martin's part, but Jon feels no need to point that out. Instead he turns on his side and stares at the phone. He particularly focuses on the smiley face, ridiculously charmed by the fact that, despite everything, Martin hasn't lost his predilection for emojis. Two years ago, he would've rolled his eyes, maybe thought something snide about professionalism. It wouldn't have been fair, as Tim used to do the same thing and he thought nothing of it, but he wasn't fair back then. Now, he simply wonders if he can get away with sending one back.
Before he can respond, Martin sends another message. Are you actually alright? I realized I was kind of assuming that losing your phone was the only reason you were MIA, but is anything else going on?
Damn. He tends to forget how perceptive Martin can be. What, exactly, Martin had perceived in that first message, Jon couldn't be sure, but apparently there was something that tipped him off to the..eventful last week he'd had. He really, really doesn't feel like getting into all of that right now, especially not over text, so instead he replies a mostly truthful I'm fine.
Then, squinting at the screen and realizing that might come across as a dismissal, he adds, Well, other than trying not to contemplate the general sanitation practices of a motel that clearly hasn't updated it's decor since the 70s. I'm suspecting the sheets are much the same.
He doesn't know how Martin will react to the message. He can't see the face he'll make, won't know the tone of his voice. However, he likes to imagine that Martin will at least smile. Maybe he'll even give that breath of a laugh, the one that sometimes happens when Jon's being lightly acerbic and it's not directed at him. He doesn't know, but he does hope for it. Martin texts back Oof. Maybe sleep on top of the covers tonight, yeah?, and Jon thinks that he might have guessed Martin's reaction correctly.
Christ, who knew all it took was a combination of jetlag and threats to turn him into a sap. He needs to sleep. He really needs a deep, proper, uninterrupted sleep, one lasting a minimum of eight hours and ideally closer to fifteen. Checking the time, it would be a fairly reasonable time to sleep, especially with the early start he has tomorrow. He considers sending off a quick good night message, but then has the realization that as reasonable as it is for him to be asleep right now, it's just as unreasonable for Martin to be awake. Are you alright? Good lord, Martin, it's almost 4am over there. Did I wake you?
Barely 30 seconds pass before he gets back no, you're good!
A beat, then a follow up message. I've had a irregular sleep schedule since I was like 16. A lot of evening and night shifts had a lasting impact u know? Working at the institute made it a bit more consistent but it's still p rare that i sleep the same eight hours night to night.
Jon's starts to text back something sympathetic; he's had his own struggles with both in- and hyper- somnia, but his phone buzzes in his hand before he can finish it.
Sorry! That was uh probably more information than you wanted.
Well, that just won't do. Even if there wasn't a part of his brain that had recently started collecting facts about Martin like they were precious jewels instead of mostly mundane stories, he doesn't want Martin to think he can't talk to him about things outside of the standard bounds of coworkers. Not at all. We're friends, Martin, I enjoy learning about you.
His brain wants to catastrophize the second he presses send. For the first minute that Martin doesn't reply, he doesn't let it. After the second minute, he allows the minor worry to become more severe. Had it been too much? Were they friends? Jon certainly thought so, but what if Martin wasn't in the same boat? Their interactions had been entirely friendly for months now, but what if that was just Martin being polite? God, what if Martin still thought of Jon as his boss, nothing more?
Ten minutes. It takes ten minutes for Martin to finally respond, and Jon has almost called him four times to explain himself. Ten minutes, and the first response is only Oh!
Then: Cool
Well, that's not a "piss off and die", but it's not exactly comforting. Jon doesn't know how to reply, staring at the words on his screen and not entirely sure if he's fucked up or not. Fortunately, Martin's not done responding, and the next message is much, much better.
Hey uh. Feel free to say no I know it's getting late over there but. Im not getting back to sleep for the rest of the day and itd be nice to actually hear you. Would you be okay with a call?
Without a moment's hesitation, he texts back Yes!, exclamation and all, because he's become someone he barely recognizes. The phone rings just as immediately, and he feels his entire body relax at Martin's first "Hello?"
Things are difficult right now. Things have been difficult ever since the promotion that was a curse in disguise. The world is filled with monsters he barely understands. He wishes he was home despite the fact that he barely recognizes it, as filled with tension and strife as it is. There's so much to discuss, so many things they should be hammering out. But right now, the threats are not pressing. Right now, he can hear about the bad true crime documentary Martin half-watched before he got Jon's texts, and Jon can bitch about the three different "pip pip cheerio" comments he's gotten since coming over seas. Right now, and for the hour before Jon drifts off, breathing slow and deep, he can pretend that this is an ordinary phone call, in an ordinary world, between two people who simply miss each other an extraordinary amount.
